Edupoint Enters Alaska with the Matanuska-Susitna School District’s Selection of Synergy Education Platform

PALMER, Alaska /ScoopCloud/ -- Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District (MSBSD) selected Edupoint(R) Educational Systems to implement the district's industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform. The district's Synergy solution will include the full suite of Synergy modules - Synergy Student Information System, Synergy Learning Management System with RTI/MTSS and Assessment, Synergy Special Education, and Synergy Analytics. MSBSD is the second-largest school district in Alaska, serving approximately 19,000 students across 47 schools near Anchorage.

"Our vision was to acquire a new SIS that was modern and responsive, would evolve with technology changes and the changing needs of K-12 education, and would help us improve efficiency and optimize our costs while continuing to prepare all students for success," said Justin Michaud, Senior Program Manager, IT, at MSBSD.

"Our other goal was finding a company that would partner with us strategically. When you take students, staff, and parents into account, our new system will touch over 30,000 people, so we needed a partner that would work with us over time to continue meeting our users' diverse and growing needs. We determined that Edupoint would be the best partner to ensure that we can do that."

With Synergy Education Platform, MSBSD will be launching not just a powerful SIS, but a comprehensive ecosystem that will enable users to seamlessly manage everything from core student data to special education processes, with online registration, learning and assessment management, RTI/MTSS management, in-depth, interactive analytics, and engaging web and mobile portals for parents and students.

The role-based mobile apps included with Synergy - ParentVUE, StudentVUE, TeachverVUE, AdminVUE, HealthVUE, CounselVUE, and SE VUE - will enable the district to provide an innovative mode of access for end users and to better serve families who depend on mobile devices rather than computers.

The MSBSD Evaluation Team selected Synergy following a request for proposal (RFP) process that included a competitive two-day product evaluation and gathered input from a 30-person focus group of subject matter experts from across the district.

"Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District needed a forward-thinking data management solution with broad functionality and found that in Synergy Education Platform," said Rob Wilson, President and Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. "We are pleased to be partnering with Mat-Su for the long term to support student success and look forward to welcoming additional Alaska districts to the Synergy family."
