Energy Optimizers, USA, receives AEP Most Savings Achieved in 2016 award

TIPP CITY, Ohio /ScoopCloud/ -- AEP Ohio has granted Energy Optimizers, USA, the Most Savings Achieved in 2016 award for the company's outstanding performance and contributions to AEP Ohio's energy efficiency programs.

As a member of AEP's Solution Provider Network, Energy Optimizers, USA, assists AEP Ohio business customers with making energy management upgrades and applying for incentives. Energy Optimizers, USA, uses AEP's prescriptive programs-including energy efficient upgrades to lighting, HVAC systems and refrigeration-along with the company's custom programs to achieve maximum rebate funds.

In 2016, those rebates added up to $550,000 for 45 AEP customers. The company's innovative solutions enabled its clients to realize more than 5 million kilowatt hours in energy savings.

Partnership with Energy Optimizers, USA, nets Graham Local Schools more than $400,000 savings in utilities over three-year period

TIPP CITY, Ohio /ScoopCloud/ -- Just three years after contracting with Energy Optimizers, USA, on a project to reduce energy usage and save taxpayer dollars, Graham Local Schools has far exceeded initial projections for energy savings.

The district expected to save $81,885 on utility costs per year over three years, for a total of $245,655. Actual savings over that period are $409,681. Electric consumption was reduced by 32.4 percent and gas consumption is down by 24.2 percent. The savings are normalized, or adjusted to account for outliers in weather conditions and costs.

"We knew going into this project that it was the right thing to do in terms of conserving both energy and taxpayer dollars," said Don Burley, Director of Operations for Graham Local Schools. "But we are floored by just how much we've been able to save. Better yet, the project has just about paid for itself in terms of savings. What better way to meet the needs of students than ensuring we are directing this money to the classrooms rather than the utility companies."

Completed in 2012, the $574,130 project included:
* Replacement of interior lighting with more energy-efficient lamps.
* Installation of exterior lighting controls to reduce wasted electricity.
* Installation of advanced energy management programming and HVAC controls to improve energy conservation.
* Upgrades to the water and air filtration systems.
* Installation of smart exhaust hoods on kitchen units.

The majority of the work was funded through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission's House Bill 264 program, enabling the district to make these cost-cutting improvements at no additional expense to taxpayers while ensuring the guaranteed savings of the project are met or exceeded.

Trotwood-Madison City Schools saves more than $260,000 after completing energy management project with Energy Optimizers, USA

TIPP CITY, Ohio /ScoopCloud/ -- Trotwood-Madison City Schools has saved more than $266,000 on its energy costs just one year after completing a sweeping energy management project with Energy Optimizers, USA.

For the period running from October 1, 2015, to September 1, 2016, the district saved $266,134 on its electric and natural gas usage, beating projections by nearly $79,500. The savings are normalized, or adjusted to account for outliers in weather conditions and utility rates.

Electric usage is down by more than 30 percent and gas consumption by 20 percent following upgrades to the lighting, building controls and air filtration systems at all six of the district's buildings.

"When we launched this project in 2014, we did it with the clear intention of reducing our energy consumption so that we could better invest our dollars where they matter-in the classroom," said Janice Allen, Trotwood-Madison City Schools treasurer. "We are so pleased that our investment in the future is paying off even better than expected. We take tremendous pride in being fiscally conservative with our taxpayer dollars, and our students and community can take great pride in having top-of-the-line, high performance buildings."

In total, Energy Optimizers, USA:
* Replaced interior and exterior lighting with more efficient technology and installed occupancy sensors to reduce wasted electricity
* Installed advanced energy management controls to provide real-time, web-based monitoring and management of the district's HVAC systems
* Installed dynamic air filtration to improve indoor air quality and decrease maintenance- and energy-related costs
* Installed energy-saving features to the kitchen exhaust fans and coolers.

The majority of the work was funded through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission's House Bill 264 program, enabling the district to make the improvements at no cost to taxpayers while ensuring the guaranteed savings of the project are met or exceeded.

The resources saved by upgrading the district's electrical and HVAC systems is equivalent to removing nearly 400 cars from the road or saving more than 575 acres of trees, noted Greg Smith, president of Energy Optimizers, USA.

"Trotwood-Madison City Schools is taking the lead in demonstrating how relatively simple improvements can have a large impact in a very short period," Smith said. Trimble Local Schools to see substantial savings through energy service agreement with Energy Optimizers, USA

TIPP CITY, Ohio /ScoopCloud/ -- Trimble Local Schools will soon see a substantial savings in its monthly utility bills following an agreement with Energy Optimizers, USA, to overhaul all lighting and improve the district's HVAC controls.

Energy Optimizers, USA, will replace existing lighting with energy-efficient LEDs, install occupancy sensors to reduce wasted electricity and make upgrades to the HVAC systems and controls.

The estimated $787,000 project is part of a 10-year energy service agreement that is expected to reduce the district's utility costs from $290,000 annually to $74,244 annually. The district will use the savings gained through its improved energy efficiency to pay for the project over a 10-year period. The savings are guaranteed by Energy Optimizers, USA.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for our district to save costs while improving the learning environment," said Superintendent Scott Christman. "We will be able to make advanced upgrades to our classrooms that will improve the quality of lighting without having to divert capital from other projects. This is a win-win for our students and our taxpayers."

LED lighting uses an average of 60 percent less energy than the systems being replaced. Occupancy controls will further cut costs by reducing wasted electricity. The district will also save on hidden costs related to maintenance and warranty. LEDs can last up to 20 years, which translates into a measurable reduction in costs related to maintenance and equipment. Energy Optimizers, USA will service all retrofitted lighting systems for the life of the agreement, further saving the district time and money.
