The U.S. Department of Energy uses SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) ratings to evaluate heating and cooling equipment efficiency. The higher the SEER rating, the more efficient the system is. These ratings ensure all systems meet minimum standards of effectiveness and efficiency. They also help consumers compare and evaluate different systems and make good purchasing decisions.

The Department of Energy has revised its SEER guidelines for 2023 and a 20 SEER system is now considered a 19.2 SEER2 system. As of January 2023, Texas will be phasing out low SEER equipment to establish a higher efficiency standard in both new construction and existing homes. The minimum energy-efficiency standards are being raised for all cooling and heating systems. At the same time, a new SEER ratings system, called SEER2, will go into effect. The new SEER2 system uses different testing conditions and is a more accurate way to evaluate HVAC efficiency.

Due to the coming changes according to Karen Edmonds, "HVAC manufacturers are redesigning HVAC components to meet the new SEER2 requirements. As a result, prices are said to increase on new HVAC systems and components as of January 2023 as much as 30%."

Karen continues, "Once the new regulations go into effect, any units that don't meet the new requirements can't be sold or installed. It is against the federal law to sell or install this equipment after the New Year."

Benny was the Captain of Engine Co.11-A at the firehouse on the southeast corner of 24th Str. and Roosevelt Str. where he served for many years until his retirement.

The LED lighting retrofits offer up to 75 percent savings over the district's former lighting systems, offering an almost immediate reduction in utility costs. They will also last 3 to 4 times longer, which will further reduce long-term operations and maintenance costs.

Beyond the financial savings, LED lighting is a superior option for educational settings. The quality of LED lighting is very close to natural daylight, making it easier on the eyes. Further, it offers improved light distribution and lighting levels. LEDs are also free of the hum and flicker associated with fluorescent lighting, making it an ideal system for special needs classrooms. All these benefits are associated with improved behavior and health, in addition to increased motivation and higher test scores.

New Study Reveals Fibercare Cleaning Services Save Hotels Money, Energy and Contributes to Healthier Environment

Throughout the month of June and up until July 3, submissions for nominations were made to honor a military member with a new A/C unit valued up to $10K. "Consider the use of a portable HEPA air filtration unit while the patient is actively undergoing, and immediately following, an aerosol-generating procedure. The use of these units will reduce particle count (including droplets) in the room...." "Consider the use of upper-room ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) as an adjunct to higher ventilation and air cleaning rates."

The Mi Dentista dental team has also implemented other infection control methods recommended by the CDC and the American Dental Association including avoiding placing patients in an enclosed waiting room, no accompanying visitors, repeated disinfection of surfaces during the day, and frequently replacing masks, face shields, gowns, goggles, and gloves. The air evacuated from the dental environment also first goes through a high-efficiency pre-filter and then is treated with high-powered, UV-C radiation to destroy virus particles. While no approach completely and absolutely eliminates the risk of infection, these methods are believed to help reduce it.
