Mechanical construction is needed in 68% of the identified industrial projects. Loading dock equipment, conveyors, cranes and hoists, and fire protection each appear in 64% of industrial projects. These numbers reflect broad facility-wide modernization across the food and beverage sector. For instance, Carl Buddig & Company, investing $125 million to renovate a 195,000 sf meat processing facility in WI with purchasing needs in nearly every category.

Process-specific equipment tells a more targeted story. Control systems and instrumentation appear in 43% of the capital projects. Air emissions control equipment shows up in 39%.
