SecuGen to Highlight the SafeDefend Personnel Protection System at CES 2018

SANTA CLARA, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- SecuGen Corporation and SafeDefend LLC have teamed up to create the SafeDefend Personnel Protection System and will be demonstrating the product at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

The SafeDefend Personnel Protection System by SafeDefend, LLC is a state of the art, fingerprint activated safe that allows for controlled access and secure storage of items such as: gel pepper spray; a baton with a window break; trauma kit; safety vest; flex cuffs; high-intensity strobe flashlight; and a whistle. When activated, the system instantaneously alerts a nationwide monitoring company and sends a text alert to personnel at the workplace. Local law enforcement is immediately notified of the building and precise area where the system was activated, identifying the location of the threat. In addition, law enforcement is also notified of the identity of the individual person who initiated the alert.

The SafeDefend system features the SecuGen U20-SFR OEM fingerprint sensor and an industry standard networking system. The first in SecuGen's new Unity family of fingerprint products, the U20-SFR combines SecuGen's U20 sensor and a Single Board Computer that sports a 1 GHz CPU and provides a fully programmable Linux environment.

SecuGen will be highlighting the SafeDefend System in its booth at CES in South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, # 21767. SecuGen will also be showing its world leading line of optical fingerprint readers including, the FAP 20 certified Hamster Pro 20 based upon the same U20 sensor as well as the soon to be released Hamster Pro 10.

SecuGen Releases UN20 Serial, a FAP 20, Low Cost, Optical, OEM Fingerprint Sensor

The UN20 Serial is a serial interface sensor with a simple to use set of commands that allows the developer to capture fingerprint images, extract templates, and to enroll, search and match fingerprint templates. The UN20 Serial is small, rugged and durable, and highly accurate. The UN20 Serial hardware is FBI certified for use in the FIPS 201 PIV program under the FAP 20 category. The template extraction and matching algorithms running on the sensor are NIST MINEX certified.

UN20 Serial is the first of the Unity BDP (Biometric Development Platform) line of fingerprint products to be released. The Unity BDP provides the tools and technologies that allow for the rapid and efficient development of a wide variety of embedded fingerprint solutions where high quality, rugged design, and affordability are key factors. SecuGen will be releasing a series of additional UN20 OEM sensors and Unity finished products over the course of the coming months. SecuGen to Unveil New Hamster Pro 45, a FAP 45 Two-Finger Reader, at CES Las Vegas

SANTA CLARA, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- SecuGen, a world leading optical fingerprint device and technology vendor, is pleased to announce the unveiling of the Hamster Pro 45(tm), a new FAP 45 fingerprint reader that supports both flat, two-finger and rolled finger captures.

The Hamster Pro 45 fingerprint reader is sleek in design, accurate, rugged and astonishingly low cost. SecuGen's new product is designed to meet the FBI's Appendix F standard and is suitable for AFIS and other law enforcement applications.

Attendees are invited to take an early peek at the new Hamster Pro 45 two-finger reader, which will be demonstrated in SecuGen's booth #21647 at the CES 2017 show in Las Vegas from Thursday January 5th through Sunday January 9th.

The Hamster Pro 45 is slated for release in the first half of 2017. SecuGen will also release at that time the OEM sensor inside of the Hamster Pro 45 called the U45. The U45 sensor is intended for developers wanting to create their own two-finger readers or to imbed the two-finger sensor into some larger device.
