SecuGen fingerprint scanners are fully compatible with bioLock software, which gives SAP users biometric control of sensitive system activities at granular levels, such as financial transfers, access to customer or vendor master data and viewing of confidential company reports or intellectual property. Biometric credentials can be re-authenticated when users request restricted information or perform mission-critical activities, using a SecuGen Hamster series reader combined with bioLock software. The SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 has successfully passed tests for both dust and water ingress. These tests were performed by third party testing organizations in South Korea.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 14, 2014 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- SecuGen Corporation is pleased to announce that its new, FAP 20 and PIV certified Hamster(TM) Pro 20 fingerprint reader has been certified by the Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate, an office of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) of India. The Hamster Pro 20 is available immediately for sale in India through SecuGen India.

STQC certification of biometric devices is a requirement for implementing biometric authentication in India's Unique Identification (UID) project. This certification scheme provides confidence that certified devices are reliable, safe, and secure and meet the project's requirements. One goal of the UID project is to issue every Indian resident a unique identification number, known as an Aadhaar number, linked to the resident's demographic and biometric information, which they can use to identify themselves anytime, anywhere in India, and to access a host of benefits and services.
