Alex Fisher is transforming Community Education

I had the opportunity to listen to a presentation from Alex Fisher at Hopkins Rotary. Mr. Fisher is the Director of Community Education for Hopkins School District. Listening to him speak about the about his vision for more Civic Programs, specifically education geared toward the young adults in our community, has been inspiring to me. Forwarding thinking is part of how you create excitement to mentor future leaders. Mr. Fisher has mastered creating excitement.

Turning Words into Action

Today I am proud to announce that I will use any funds generated from the office of Hopkins Mayor, typically going to the mayor themself, plus some personal funds, to create a Raspberry Scholarship Fund. Funds will be donated for the lifetime of my service to the Hopkins Community.

I have already connected with Mr. Fisher and this Scholarship will be used to help low-income families pay for childcare costs and to participate in the Civics Enrichment camps and classes he plans to start.

As I have previously shared, my goal is to give as many people access to participate in local government as possible. More participation makes us stronger. I look forward to being able to mentor those in Mr. Fisher's program and see this partnership create new strong civic leaders for Hopkins.

Connecting with Community

I have already started connecting with local banks & community organizations to expand the fund beyond just myself. We are lucky here in the city of Hopkins, MN to have a strong sense of civic responsibility.

I am dedicated to not only showing up, but giving back.

I was taught that those who have the ability have the responsibility and I plan to live up to my responsibility in this community.

HOPKINS, Minn. /ScoopCloud/ -- Sam Stiele announces "We Lean Local" Platform. A lot of people talk about politics and reflect on what is happening nationally. Local government impacts our lives perhaps more than any other vote we cast. When you think about who is at the helm in local government those are the people planning future city needs.

Sometimes those needs are emergency services, engaging in discussions about schools, parks and developments as the community changes.

Over the last 60 years our family has seen this community go from "Cars & Bars" to a town with strong art connections, focus on health, sought after restaurants and commitment to quality of life for residents. Now, as I look to the future, I am excited about where we're headed, but we have a lot of heavy lifting to do.

My number one priority is to maintain the strong quality of life residents here in Hopkins love and deserve. We need to support our city services through proper planning. There is a short period of time to execute before rapid population growth and the light rail expansion.

In everything I do, my family does, we don't just look to national politics because what impacts us most in our daily lives is local. When running for elected office at any level, sometimes people want to know what party every candidate belongs to, but Hopkins runs non-partisan city elections. It isn't about a party it is about people. The people who live here, shop here, work here, own businesses here, go to school here.

When we're talking about what Hopkins needs, instead of asking what political party we belong to, let's talk about our community. Because ultimately, We Lean Local.

About Sam Stiele

Sam has been married to his wife, Kimberly Stiele, for 20 years as of October 6th. They have two kids, Oliver 13, and Caroline 9. They are proud to raise their kids, and their dogs (Jelly and Peanut Butter), here in Hopkins. It was Sam's father's dream to live in Hopkins, and Sam is happy to have been able to realize that dream with his own family. Sam is running for Mayor of Hopkins; election day is November 2, 2021.

The country’s most successful non-partisan congressional candidate Michael Moore announces 2022 campaign

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. /ScoopCloud/ -- In 2020 Michael Moore challenged incumbent Democrat Ilhan Omar for Minnesota's fifth congressional district. Moore was the only U.S. congressional candidate in the country facing both a Republican and Democratic candidate who received more than 9% of the general election vote. Moore says, "We must stop allowing ourselves to be willingly complicit in this fake struggle of 'us vs. them,' 'good guys vs. bad guys.' This deliberately perpetrated illusion of a 2-party political system has been forced upon us by a political tag-team which no longer holds our interests as their highest priority."
