MCT Expands MSR Valuation Options with AD&Co Prepayment Model

Addition of Internationally Recognized Model Enhances Scenario Testing, Precision, and Confidence for MSR Managers

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Oct. 8, 2024 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Mortgage Capital Trading, Inc. (MCT®), the de facto leader in innovative mortgage capital markets technology, today announced the integration of the LoanDynamics Model (LDM) from Andrew Davidson & Co. (AD&Co) into their mortgage servicing rights (MSR) valuation software. LDM is a well-respected prepayment model for residential mortgages that will complement MCT’s proprietary prepayment model in MSRlive! This integration allows MSR portfolio managers to leverage and compare both models, increasing confidence in the precision of their valuations and scenario testing.

“MCT’s MSRlive! platform is one of the most extensively adopted and customizable MSR valuation models in the industry,” said Bill Shirreffs, Senior Director, Head of MSR Services and Sales Operations at MCT. “We’re proud to work with AD&Co to add their internationally recognized LDM prepayment model alongside the customization and flexibility clients appreciate about our proprietary model.”

Because the MSR may be sold or retained independently of residential mortgage loans, MSR valuation and portfolio management is a critical function for U.S. mortgage lenders. Central to the value of any MSR is a forecast of its prepayment speed, which is dependent on a wide array of assumptions and heavily influenced by macroeconomic developments. MCT and AD&Co are both highly regarded providers of this prepayment modeling, and through their new alliance, they combine the best of both models for the benefit of capital markets professionals.

“AD&Co’s flagship LoanDynamics Model is a perfect complement to MCT’s MSRlive!,” said Michelle Stepien Breier, Business Development Manager at AD&Co. “AD&Co’s industry leading prepayment and credit models, coupled with MCT’s MSRlive!, provide a best-of-breed joint solution to MSR portfolio managers.”

The integration allows MSRlive! users who have an existing license or plan to license AD&Co’s LDM the opportunity to apply greater fine-tuning parameters to prepayment forecasting in accordance with the needs of the individual user and their portfolio.

MSR portfolio managers interested in a consultation on their valuation and retention strategy are encouraged to schedule a meeting with MCT and AD&Co for the upcoming MBA Annual Convention here: https://mct-trading.com/contact/

MCT Launches BAMCO: Co-issue Loan Sale Marketplace for Shadow Pricing and Unique Executions

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Mortgage Capital Trading, Inc. (MCT®), a leading mortgage hedge advisory and secondary marketing software firm, announced the release of BAMCO, a new marketplace for co-issue loan sales. Co-issue loan sales, also known as flow-based mortgage servicing rights (MSR) sales, are a three-way transaction involving the sale of loans to one of the agencies with a simultaneous sale of the MSRs to a separate third party. BAMCO brings co-issue transactions directly into MCT's whole loan trading platform and improves price transparency by connecting unapproved sellers to live executions from potential buyers.

"BAMCO is the latest step toward realizing MCT's vision of every loan being priced to every investor, supporting true best execution for sellers and a more efficient market for borrowers," said Justin Grant, Senior Director, Head of Investor Services at MCT. "Historically, lenders have had far more whole loan outlets than co-issue outlets - we're seeking to change that with BAMCO."

BAMCO supports live, flow-based, loan-level MSR pricing, expanding execution options for sellers while creating new client acquisition opportunities for buyers. While co-issue executions via agency integrations have always been and will continue to be included in lenders' loan sale best execution analysis, BAMCO brings in a new section featuring direct co-issue pricing for both approved and unapproved buyers. Co-issue buyers have the choice to deliver standard grid-based co-issue pricing or loan-level bid tape co-issue pricing.

In recent years, both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have pushed the market for co-issue loan sales forward with new servicing exchanges. This has supported the growth of co-issue transactions to represent 16% of all loan sales by MCT's lender client base in 2022. BAMCO supports and expands upon the functionality provided by the agencies to facilitate live shadow pricing, more granular MSR bids, and expanded outlets over time. BAMCO serves agency sellers within the MCT hedge client base, particularly those not currently taking advantage of co-issue executions, while offering an opportunity for co-issue buyers to attract more sellers and provide more granular pricing.

BAMCO is a new set of executions within BAM Marketplace, the industry's largest loan exchange which serves MCT's three hundred mortgage lender clients. BAMCO is the latest in a series of groundbreaking innovations from MCT, from their original focus on best execution analysis to more recent rollouts such as electronic TBA trading and automation for Assignment-of-Trade (AOT) transactions.

"Given the advancement of BAMCO technology, MCT brings incredible selling efficiencies and pricing resources to the industry," shared Chris King, SVP of Business Development at Mr. Cooper. "Mr. Cooper is excited to be a first adopter of BAMCO and we look forward to working with our clients, MCT, and the agencies to further the expansion of co-issue sales."

There is no additional cost for MCT hedging clients to use BAMCO, which was released as part of their normal best execution loan sales process earlier this week.

Interested parties can register to attend MCT's upcoming BAMCO webinar to be held December 7, 2022: https://mct-trading.com/webinar-bamco-coissue-marketplace/

New MSR Technology Empowers MSR Buyers with Live Loan-Level Pricing

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Mortgage Capital Trading (MCT®), a leading mortgage hedge advisory and secondary marketing software firm, has announced today a new technology for mortgage servicing rights (MSR) buyers to produce more granular pricing for mortgage servicing. The feature leverages an application programming interface (API) to connect MSRlive!, MCT's state-of-the-art MSR valuation platform to clients' systems for more precise and accurate loan-level pricing in real time.

Especially in a volatile climate, every basis point counts. MCT's objective is to ensure that its software additions drive more profitability and increase efficiencies. With MCT's new API, users can effectively develop a pricing strategy that includes key loan-level characteristics, such as property location, FICO, loan-to-value (LTV), and much more in real-time to evaluate a comprehensive set of data that contributes to a winning pricing strategy.

The key takeaway of this new functionality is how it informs users and helps servicing buyers avoid over-paying for potentially underperforming assets. The software provides a more prudent, thoughtful, and strategic approach achieved by leveraging a granular set of data which will result in fewer missteps. The system's functionality provides insight for the servicing buyers to ensure that the pricing levels on a loan-by-loan basis are appropriate and justified.

"The competitive landscape has exposed the challenges with applying static multiples across all LTVs and FICOs and has heightened the importance of a more strategic pricing strategy," shared Bill Shirreffs, Head of MSR Services and Sales Operations at MCT. "MCT's MSRlive! API is specifically designed to provide granular, loan-level, MSR pricing based on your cost assumptions and return expectations. Ultimately, giving you more confidence."

This technology is available to MSR buyers that want to receive more granular pricing for their MSR bidding today. Connect with MCT to start securing company profitability with a wide array of software systems and expert consultants.

Subsequent QC, LLC Urges Lenders to Protect MSRs Ahead of Mortgage Servicing Activity in 2018

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Subsequent QC, LLC (SQC) President Michael Steer today advised lenders to take steps to protect their Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) assets ahead of an anticipated increase in total mortgage servicing volume. According to the Mortgage Bankers Association, outstanding mortgage debt is expected to reach $10.4 trillion by the end of 2018, compared to $10 trillion in 2017 and $9.7 trillion in 2016.

With the increase in the number of loans to service, and lenders that lack the capabilities to service in-house, the nation's existing 10 to 15 servicers will experience an additional influx in business, making it even more critical for lenders to shore up their oversight of these entities and the assets with which they've been entrusted, Steer says.

"When volume increases, it becomes correspondingly more difficult to ensure quality on a day-to-day basis, which is why lenders need to put additional oversight in place now before volumes rise significantly," Steer said. "These are potentially 30-year assets, and to ensure lenders derive maximum benefit from owning these assets, it is imperative that they enshrine them with every level of protection possible through operational audits of their subservicer and loan-level servicing quality control reviews."

As the servicing-focused sister firm to leading mortgage risk management and compliance services firm Mortgage Quality Management and Research, LLC (MQMR), SQC offers extensive experience in servicing/subservicing operational oversight and loan-level servicing QC. Cross-educated on all areas of interest (AOIs), SQC auditors are trained to recognize issues indicative of process failures, coaching opportunities, trending and mitigating corporate expenditures - all of which enable lenders to effectively manage and protect their servicing assets.

"SQC strives to provide a holistic approach to servicing oversight and loan-level QC that bridges the gap between servicing compliance and risk," Steer said. "To that end, our
auditors are trained to go beyond 'checking the box' and investigate the root cause of issues to ensure issues are addressed at ground zero."
