Abigail Erickson-Torres Announces Departure as Chief Executive Officer of Bryan’s House

DALLAS, Texas /ScoopCloud/ -- Abigail Erickson-Torres is moving on from her role as Chief Executive Officer of Bryan's House, the nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting at-risk children with special needs in North Texas. After eight remarkable years leading the organization, Erickson-Torres' tenure will conclude on June 2, 2023. Bryan's House executives anticipate a smooth transition with little to no impact on the families they serve.

As Bryan's House embarks on its search for a new CEO, a committee led by global business leader David Wagner, incoming Board Chair Keith Mankin MD, and other key members will explore the organization's future direction. This effort will focus on executing the nonprofit's innovative Strategic Plan and building capacity for sustainable growth.

Reflecting on Erickson-Torres' time with Bryan's House, Board Chair Nicole Blythe expressed gratitude for her unwavering dedication and service. "Throughout her eight-year tenure, Abigail has been instrumental in fulfilling our mission, enhancing visibility, sustaining operations, improving quality, and expanding the agency to better serve children and families with excellence. Bryan's House offers children with special needs and their families with trusted reliable case management, educational, therapeutic, and medically supported care. In a world where children with special needs face limited options in life, Bryan’s House is the only organization that empowers their families by removing barriers to care in order to serve these children through education, health, advocacy and social services because we believe that every child has a right to thrive, no matter what.

Current Programs:

* The West Dallas campus has a unique Child Development Center catering to children aged 0-5 for daily care and 0-14 for seasonal camps. The campus features an integrated, accessible, and inclusive model of care with programs such as the Stefanie Held Community Library tailored for families with children with special needs, four therapy rooms, and community meeting spaces. In addition to their own inclusive classroom model - there are three distinctive spaces that are operated in partnership and designated as a DISD Pre-K partner site.

* The Trigger's Toy's Therapy Program collaborates with the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). Bryan's House hosts twenty therapy interns in a lab school environment each semester, furthering pathways to inclusion and early intervention for deserving children on campus.

* Beyond the West Dallas campus, offsite programs extend to seven counties across North Texas, serving families and children aged 0-21 in their homes or shelters. These programs offer intensive social work, family support, and homelessness prevention services.

Boise Spring Carnival Invites All Families

Daisy Village Grand Opening of Center for Children with Special Needs

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- Broward Children's Center (BCC) (https://bcckids.org), the largest non-profit organization in Pompano Beach, announces the official opening of Daisy Village (http://www.daisyvillage.org), coinciding with a series of events in celebration of its "50 Years of Caring for Children with Special Needs."

Daisy Village at BCC is an integrated facility providing wraparound educational, therapy, advocacy, and wellness services to local families that have children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down's Syndrome, or other developmental disabilities. The center offers live, in-person behavior, occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as teletherapy options during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INCLUDE:
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Intensive Kindergarten Program.
- Individual and Personalized Outpatient Therapy including ABA, OT, PT and ST.
- Music Therapy: Individuals and Small Groups.
- Therapy Groups: Children ages 2-14.
- Bi-Monthly Wellness Programs: For Families and Caregivers.
- The Spider Cage: State-of-the-Art treatment approach supporting the development of children with physical disabilities.

Thanks to the generous support of donors and organizations, including the Taft Foundation and Children's Services Council (CSC), Daisy Village at BCC is able to strive to give access to high-quality therapy support to all families in need. Daisy Village's programming is expanding this summer to include low-cost therapeutic groups offered to children with special needs or developmental concerns. These groups will enrich social skill development, language and motor learning, and self-regulation skills. Offerings will include Legos and Lunch, Messy Art, Stay and Play, Let's Go Drumming, a choir and music lessons. Daisy Village will also be starting a Mommy and Me music group for young children led by a board-certified music therapist. According to the US Census Bureau, over 1 in 5 individuals in Broward County are diagnosed with some sort of disability. Many families struggle with finding the appropriate care for their children. Often times, even when that care can be found, the families are left with the massive coordination task of juggling appointments at many different centers. Daisy Village at BCC was created to offer comprehensive care under one roof. "Success comes in the ability to recognize new and better ways to serve," stated Marjorie Evans, CEO and Founder. "We're always looking for ways to improve the service we provide to the community that lives with special needs," she added.

Due to COVID restrictions, one-on-one tours by appointment are open for the community and the media on the second Thursdays of May and June 2021. Our center is following strict CDC health guidelines.
