New Orleans to Host The 18th Annual Edition of Its Roller Derby Themed RUNNING OF THE BULLS On July 12-14

NEW ORLEANS, La. /ScoopCloud/ -- The Crescent City will once again be the backdrop for America's original festival to commemorate Pamplona, Spain's centuries-old San Fermin celebration that culminates in the famous Running of the Bulls in New Orleans on July 13, 2024, Nola Bulls LLC announced today.

San Fermin in Nueva Orleans 2024 will take place July 12 through 14, 2024, in the Central Business District of downtown New Orleans, with three days of events at the beautiful and historic Gallier Hall at 545 St. Charles Avenue.

The start of the weekend's festivities - "El Txupinazo" - kicks off on Friday night. This year's entertainment includes New Orleans' own James Andrews and the Crescent City All Star Jazz Band. There will be a fund-raiser for their chosen charity partner, Beth's Friends Forever, to support New Orleans area women fighting cancer.

RELEASE THOSE BULLS on SATURDAY MORNING!

Come out and see women roller derby athletes, aka RollerBulls(tm), chase down "runners" wearing traditional red and white colors to commemorate Saint Fermin. The Bulls themselves, hailing from across the USA and Canada, will be decked out as their namesake and delivering air bat reminders for participants to "move it along" to the annual gauntlet before finishing the run at Gallier Hall for performances by an outstanding, all "NOLA" lineup.

Neutral Snap's Pop Punk set kicks off the main room, while DJ Brice Nice spins in the chill room. Dinny Skip, the "freakin' funkiest funkrap flabadooby to ever stomp this sweet swingin' sphere" headlines. All the while, the Crescent City All Star Jazz Band jazzes up the VIP.

The finale of the weekend is the beloved Burlesque-themed recovery party to close out the fiesta, and will once again be hosted by Big Deal Burlesque. This is a ticketed event inside the theater at Gallier Hall, and will include a tasty brunch and Bloody Marys.

Proceeds benefit Beth's Friends Forever, a New Orleans non-profit supporting women fighting cancer. Since its inception in 2007, San Fermin Nueva Orleans has delivered more than $50,000 directly to patients going through their fight.

NEW ORLEANS, La. /ScoopCloud/ -- Nola Bulls, LLC has found a way to carry on the fun of San Fermin in Nueva Orleans with an online gathering of amigos.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the uncertainty of legal gatherings of more than 10 people, the organizers and brain trust of San Fermin in Nueva Orleans have opted for an online fiesta. On Saturday July 11, 2020 all are invited to join the team as they present a way to revel with the friends they normally see each year, but cannot due to the virus.

Annually since 2007 people have come from around the globe to enjoy the company of friends and the gorings of our Virtual Bulls, aka RollerBulls(tm). The team had to be creative in order to bring the fun and festive feeling of SFNO to their loyal fans. Notify your friends and schedule a socially distant/approved way to join in.

Back in 2007 some friends dreamt up the idea of recreating the famous Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain by replacing the four-legged bovines with two-legged RollerBulls played by the Big Easy Rollergirls roller derby team. What has occurred since is nothing short of amazing. Each year hundreds of roller derby skaters (aka RollerBulls) from around the globe chase down and whoop willing runners through the streets of New Orleans. It's all part of a great three-day fiesta.

Running of The Bulls Rescheduled Due to Hurricane Barry – 13th Rendition of San Fermin in Nueva Orleans Moves to Aug. 23-25

NEW ORLEANS, La. /ScoopCloud/ -- Nola Bulls, LLC and its revelers GET LUCKY for the 13th edition of New Orleans' favorite summer bash known as San Fermin in Nueva Orleans (SFNO) presented by The Advocate, a.k.a. The Running of the Bulls in New Orleans. A legendary local band reunites for a rare return to ROCK.

Due to Hurricane Barry the organizers of the event made the decision to postpone the July event. "The safety of our participants is very important to us. We had to make a tough decision a few days out with the uncertainty of the storm's track," said co-founder Mickey Hanning. "People travel from all over to be a part of this wacky thing and travel was becoming an issue. Between the venue, local authorities and ourselves we thought the best thing to do was postpone it and search for a viable weekend to host it. Luckily, August 24th was available for all!"

The proceeds from the live auction go to BFF, an organization dedicated to assisting women with cancer. The ticket includes food, open bar and live music from Javier Gutierrez Vivaz Duet. This year's restaurants include Apolline, Atchafalaya, Bacchanal, Commander's Palace, Sobou and Tavolino Pizza & Lounge. The grand prize, live auction winner will take home a Lifetime VIP pass to San Fermin in Nueva Orleans!

Saturday's August 24th festivities start early and go into the afternoon! Doors open at 6:30AM at The Sugar Mill for some early imbibing or stretching. A drum and trumpet led procession and the always anticipated invocation by the Reverend Psych Ward precede the 8 a.m. sharp release of hundreds of roller derby ladies with horned helmets armed with plastic bats onto the streets where the real fun begins. This has been called (by us) The Greatest Show on Skates. Upon return to the Post Encierro registered participants will drink with their tormentors while enjoying local DJs, DJ Brass inside/DJ Cody Banks outside followed by headlining act Morning 40 Federation! VIP attendees enjoy food from Krispy Krunchy Chicken while others can purchase food from some great local food trucks. Nola Bulls famous sangria, beer, wine and lots of other refreshments are available throughout the festival site.

Sunday August 25 is the Pobre de Mí, the finale of San Fermin in Nueva Orleans 2019. Doors open at 11 a.m. at Lula Restaurant Distillery (1532 St. Charles Ave). The El Pobre de Mí brunch features an Ernest Hemingway themed burlesque show by Roxie La Rouge's Big Deal Burlesque. A Hemingway lookalike contest ends the show and the year for Nola Bulls. The Running of The Bulls in New Orleans Turns It Up to Eleven

NEW ORLEANS, La. /ScoopCloud/ -- Nola Bulls, LLC announces the full lineup for the 11th edition of the world famous San Fermin in Nueva Orleans (SFNO), a.k.a. "The Running of the Bulls in New Orleans." Organizers say they are committed to transcending the farthest reaches of joy currently known to mortal men, taking this event it to the ultimate limits good times, great food, tasty drinks, and general feelings of "Por Que No?" or Why Not?

Since 2007, the streets of New Orleans have borne witness to the release of RollerBulls(TM) chasing runners and "goring" them with their bats. The festival known as San Fermin in Nueva Orleans is world renowned, and attempts are made across globe to mimic it. But, as most who have attended will attest, there's just no place like New Orleans to host such a bizarre good time.

The festival kicks off Friday July 7, 2017, with El Txupinazo at Seven Three Distillery (301 Claiborne Ave.) hosted by charity partners Beth's Friends Forever. One price gets you great food from New Orleans restaurants, live music from Vivaz! Latin Band, Abita Beer, and Marques de Cáceres wines. Both live and silent auctions crown the evening with items such as Lifetime VIP for SFNO and a judgeship for the Fried Chicken Festival in September.

The main event of the annual Running of the Bulls in New Orleans, is part of the Saturday July 8 festivities. Doors open at The Sugar Mill (1021 Convention Center Blvd.) at 6:30 a.m. Hordes of RollerBulls(TM), led by local stars, The Big Easy Rollergirls, will be released at 8 a.m. following the Procession of San Fermin. DJ RQ Away and The Zydepunks will entertain the masses.

Five of the area's finest food trucks will be on hand to feed the folks, and plenty of great Abita Beer, Seven Three Vodka, Backpack Wines and our famous sangria will slake their thirst and soothe their souls.

Following this fiesta on Saturday, the Fiesta de Pantalones (Pants Party) continues the day at The Rusty Nail. No need to siesta, just keep on with the fiesta!

Sunday July 9th's Pobre de Mi closes the festival. Big Deal Burlesque will provide the entertainment. A Papa Ernest Hemingway-themed variety burlesque show is sure to pique your appetite for Barcadia's (601 Tchoupitoulas St.) menu. The event closes with the annual Ernest Hemingway Look-Alike contest, where ANYONE can claim their resemblance to Papa.

Over the course of three days, attendees will meet countless bizarre and wonderfully colorful characters, and make many new friends. This truly is the greatest show on skates.

NEW ORLEANS, La., July 6, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- San Fermin in Nueva Orleans (SFNO), the founders of the New Orleans Running of the Bulls, have planned four days of special events, including the 9th Annual El Encierro, or running the bulls - New Orleans-style! This year will be celebrated as El Ano Rosa (The Pink Year) to honor co-founder Beth Hanning, who successfully battled breast cancer after having been diagnosed shortly after SFNO2014.

WHO: San Fermin in Nueva Orleans (SFNO), the founders of the New Orleans Running of the Bulls

WHAT: Have planned four days of special events, including the 9th Annual El Encierro, or running the bulls - New Orleans-style! This year will be celebrated as El Ano Rosa (The Pink Year) to honor co-founder Beth Hanning, who successfully battled breast cancer after having been diagnosed shortly after SFNO2014. Hundreds of pink-clad RollerBulls from around the globe will skate the Crescent City streets led by New Orleans' own Big Easy Rollergirls.

Event coordinators are expecting some 20,000 people to participate in the 2015 run, which is also a fundraiser for two special charities. The first is Beth's Friends Forever (BFF), which was founded to support and assist women in the Greater New Orleans area who have been diagnosed with cancer. The second organization that will receive donations is Animal Rescue of New Orleans for their continued care and devotion in finding permanent homes for lost and abandoned animals.

WHEN: There are numerous events (a full list is included below) but the main event is: El Encierro (running of the bulls); Saturday, July 11 - 6:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Participants are requested to wear all white clothing with a red sash and neckerchief, or some other Spanish themed attire, for all events.

Doors open at The Sugar Mill (1021 Convention Center Blvd.) at 6:30 a.m. The RollerBulls will be released at exactly 8 a.m., following the Procession of San Fermin at 7:30. Your registration gets you in for the run and for the before & after parties, which are always epic! Music from Quickie Mart and the Balkan Booty Squad, and fun things for the young things included. SATURDAY JULY 11 - 4:30 p.m. until you've had enough:
Those who are keeping the party alive (or reviving after siesta) should head to our hosts for La Fiesta de Pantalones (The Pants Party, so named "just because"). The Maison (508 Frenchmen St.) has live music from 4:30 p.m. until close. Great food and drinks. Stick around and you can view the weary Pastores as they finally get to relax after the morning's event. This event is free and open to the public (age 21+).

SUNDAY JULY 12 - 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.:
El Pobre de Mi closes the show in grand fashion. Started back in 2009, it's grown yearly and is beloved by the theatrical community. This recovery brunch of tapas and Ernest Hemingway themed show gives everyone a chance to bring out their inner Papa. Come prepared, or just come and wing it, you'll love the show!
