ReverseVision Product Manager Jason Price Named a 2018 HousingWire Rising Star

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of technology and training for the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) industry, today announced that Product Manager Jason Price has been recognized by HousingWire as a 2018 Rising Star. Price received the award in recognition of his extensive contributions to ReverseVision and for his role in developing innovative, technology-based solutions that have benefitted the HECM industry at large.

Now in its fifth year, HousingWire's Rising Stars(TM) award program recognizes housing economy professionals under 40 who have proven themselves as leaders and innovators. Honorees come from every space in the mortgage sector and are chosen by HousingWire editors for demonstrated excellence and for driving markets forward in their respective fields.

"Jason's unique perspective enables him to diagnose industry challenges and develop innovative solutions that impact the way the industry thinks about HECM lending," said John Button, president and CEO of ReverseVision. "He has demonstrated tremendous leadership in charting the course of ReverseVision's product development. His recognition as a HousingWire Rising Star is well deserved."

The list of Price's technological contributions to ReverseVision and HECM technology is long. Most notably, Price innovated a calculator tool for RV Sales Accelerator (RVSA) that allows lenders to visually model the financial impact of HECMs on the retirement portfolios of well-funded borrowers. The 'show, don't tell' approach embodied by the calculator tool has been a major turning point in the industry-wide effort to shift perceptions of the HECM loan from a needs-based product to a wealth management solution.

"This year's class of Rising Stars represents the best in young leadership within the mortgage finance arena," said Caroline Basile, HousingWire's online editor and member of the selection committee. "I'm impressed by the achievements of this year's winners and look forward to seeing what each of them accomplishes in the mortgage and housing finance economy in the future."

Price is profiled in the June issue of HousingWire magazine. To view the full list of 2018 HW Rising Stars(TM) honorees, visit https://www.housingwire.com/articles/43468-housingwires-class-of-2018-rising-stars/.

Now in its fifth year, the HW Tech100 recognizes the most innovative technology companies in U.S. real estate, mortgage lending, mortgage servicing and investments. "This award is a testament to ReverseVision's ongoing commitment to bringing innovation solutions to the HECM space."

ReverseVision’s Sold-Out Third Annual User Conference Equips New and Experienced HECM Lenders with Data-Driven Insights

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of technology and training for the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) industry, attracted a record crowd of industry newcomers to its third annual user conference February 6-8 at the Kona Kai Resort and Spa in San Diego.

More than 80 companies attended ReverseVision's User Con 2018 event, which garnered increased attendance by "new to the industry" participants seeking to bolster their book of business with HECMs and related products.

The conference's opening session, dubbed "Generational Lending," was designed specifically for these industry newcomers. After debunking the common myths that still plague HECM lending, the session showed how HECM products help lenders grow long-term customer relationships by rounding out a portfolio of products relevant to each stage of the customer's life. Registration for this year's Generational Lending session more than tripled that of the previous year and included representatives from depository banks looking to learn more about the HECM product.

Other conference sessions covered a variety of subjects geared toward strengthening attendees' HECM lending endeavors in 2018, including industry outlook, compliance, security, sales strategies and ReverseVision technology.

One of the top-rated conference sessions was delivered by Jim Cameron, senior partner at mortgage industry advisory firm STRATMOR Group. Cameron shared exclusive data insights comparing today's forward and reverse lending markets and highlighting the opportunity represented by the millions of Baby Boomers who will reach the age of HECM qualification in the coming years. In addition, Cameron's findings shed light on the number of borrowers over 62 that could have benefitted from a HECM had it been offered as a loan option.

"RV User Con is a game changer for UNMB's reverse mortgage business. Sponsoring this year's conference gave us the valuable opportunity to get in front of potential job candidates and network with our peers in the industry," said Elly Johnson, COO and Vice President of reverse lending for United Northern Mortgage Bankers (UNMB). "We were pleased with both the turnout and the informative conference content, which left us with a greater understanding of ReverseVision's products as well as industry trends and expectations."

Johnson shared her expertise with User Con attendees in a panel session on modeling and selling HECM purchase loans and proprietary reverse mortgage products. UNMB was also featured in the conference's open General Lending session.

Also very popular among attendees was a special session led by Bob Massi, owner of Massi and Massi Attorneys at Law and better known to many as "The Property Man" on Fox News. Massi painted a compelling portrait of Baby Boomer homeowners and supplied session participants with specialized guidance on how to approach this unique and growing demographic about HECM loans. Following Massi's session, a panel of experts discussed proprietary products and why lenders might find them an attractive alternative for some of their more unique borrowers.

"ReverseVision was honored to welcome many new faces to our third annual conference," said Wendy Peel, vice president of sales and marketing for ReverseVision. "We are proud to equip new and experienced HECM originators alike with the sales tools and holistic strategies they need to maximize their HECM business and keep customers for life."

ReverseVision has already begun planning its next user conference, which will return to San Diego in 2019. Early registration is recommended to secure attendance.

Attendees and ReverseVision customers are encouraged to view handouts from this year's conference by visiting https://www.reversevision.com/handouts.

ReverseVision Partners with DataVerify to Help HECM Lenders Improve Loan Quality, Reduce Repurchase Risk

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of technology and training for the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) industry, today announced the availability of DataVerify's DRIVE(R) verification platform within ReverseVision's flagship RV Exchange (RVX) loan origination system (LOS). DRIVE helps lenders improve efficiency and reduce repurchase risk by monitoring changes to borrower identity, loan application, and property data throughout the origination process.

On average, mortgage loans experience 2.85 data changes between application and closing. These changes range from simple data corrections to undisclosed borrower assets and liabilities to changes in property valuation. Such data changes can not only affect borrower loan eligibility, but also frequently lead to increased loan review time, diminished loan performance, and greater repurchase risk for lenders.

DRIVE, available to customers of RVX as of December 2017, streamlines the loan review process by combining multiple data integrity, fraud and compliance risk evaluations in one state-of-the-art system. The DRIVE report can include more than a dozen services, including Social Security number and 4506-T tax return verifications. DataVerify's proprietary DRIVE Score summarizes the level of risk associated with the loan, and results can be refreshed throughout the origination process for real-time monitoring of material loan data changes.

"ReverseVision is committed to equipping our lender customers with top-of-the-line tools for optimizing loan quality and efficiency," said ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel. "DataVerify is one of the mortgage industry's most trusted providers of data verification services, and we are proud to make its DRIVE system available to HECM lenders through RVX."

"At DataVerify, we believe in the power of sound, reliable risk mitigation for lenders in all facets of the mortgage industry," said Brad Bogel, senior vice president of DataVerify. "By partnering with ReverseVision, we can provide easy to understand borrower and loan data to the reverse mortgage industry through their dynamic origination platform."

To add DataVerify's DRIVE platform to RVX, please have your administrator enable the service contract for DataVerify. Note: An account with DataVerify is required to use this integration.

Following his opening address, Massi will moderate a panel discussion in which seasoned HECM for Purchase originators will share their personal experiences, success stories and actionable tips for building a successful HECM for Purchase business.

HECM for Purchase is an FHA-insured program through which qualified borrowers can use the equity from the sale of a previous residence to buy their next primary home and take out a HECM loan with no required monthly principal-and-interest payment.

"Over the course of three seasons hosting 'The Property Man' on Fox Business Network, I've had the opportunity to interview dozens of mortgage experts and homeowners about their experiences - both good and bad - with reverse mortgages," said Massi. "Today's HECM for Purchase is a revolutionary loan program that is altogether different from reverse mortgages of the past. I look forward to sharing my unique perspective on why this loan product should be available to more people and how to go about getting the word out."

"Millions of consumers around the country trust Bob Massi for his expert analysis of legal issues, housing trends, political issues and more. Mr. Massi has been delivering on-the-ground coverage of real estate news since the days of the financial crisis, and we couldn't be more pleased to enhance our conference programming with his unique perspective on the HECM for Purchase program," said ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel.

A high-profile legal analyst with more than three decades of courtroom experience and 20 years in cable news, Massi's weekly television show "The Property Man" (Fridays at 8:30 pm ET on Fox Business Network) provides viewers with invaluable insight and expertise on the trends of a constantly shifting real estate market. Massi also appears on the "Fox & Friends" morning news show every Thursday covering real-time legal and real estate issues and hosts the weekly "Inside the Law" segment on KVVU-TV in Las Vegas. He is the author of "People Get Screwed All the Time: Protecting Yourself from Scams, Fraud, Identity Theft, Fine Print and More" and runs his own law firm, Massi & Massi, in Nevada.

Norcom Mortgage Names ReverseVision Its Provider of Choice for End-to-End HECM Technology

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of technology and training for the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) industry, today announced that Norwich Commercial Group, Inc. dba Norcom Mortgage (Norcom) has selected ReverseVision as its provider of choice for end-to-end HECM technology.

In addition to ReverseVision's flagship RV Exchange (RVX) loan origination software (LOS), Norcom has deployed RV Database (RVDB), an add-on that enables lenders to create a local "data warehouse" of pertinent reverse mortgage data, and RV Sales Accelerator (RVSA), a web-based tool that helps loan officers drive HECM loan volume.

"Over the course of my career, I've managed hundreds of HECM transactions using both proprietary and name-brand solutions," said Pete Mendenhall, Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional (CRMP) and Vice President of HECM Lending for Norcom. "What I like about ReverseVision's technology is that it gives me the ability to manage and oversee everyone who touches the loan and keep them pulling in the same direction. For example, the real-time report in RVSA gives me a birds-eye view of where my prospects are in the origination life cycle with the push of a button."

Norcom has also leveraged ReverseVision's integrations with Velocify's customer relationship management (CRM) tools and Ellie Mae's Encompass(R) LOS to streamline lead management and loan fulfillment.

"ReverseVision's integrations deliver a lot of flexibility and time savings," added Mendenhall. "Our traditional/forward and HECM teams can easily trade leads with one another. At the same time our HECM loan officers are working in RVX, our operations team - which is responsible for closing and funding - can work in Encompass, which they know best, without any balls getting dropped."

Founded in 1989, Norcom is a generational lender that has grown rapidly since evolving from a mortgage broker to a mortgage lender in 2005. Working to be licensed in all 50 states, Norcom is currently licensed in 40 U.S. states plus the District of Columbia and Guam. Its team of more than 130 loan officers and 102 third-party originator (TPO) partners offers a 360-degree variety of conventional and specialized loan products, including HECMs and other equity-release programs.

"On its own, RVX is powerful origination technology that connects every participant in the lifecycle of a HECM loan - all the way to the secondary market," said ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel. "When supported by ReverseVision's full product suite, RVX becomes an unstoppable tool for helping lenders like Norcom Mortgage accelerate business and close more loans. We are honored to be Norcom's provider of choice for reverse mortgage technology, and we look forward to a partnership marked by growth and success."

New Data from ReverseVision Shows Influx of Traditional Lenders and Directly Licensed Clients into HECM Industry

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, reported a record number of newly licensed lenders entering the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) market in 2017, according to data from its RV Exchange (RVX) loan origination system (LOS). Over the same time period, ReverseVision saw an average of three new mortgage bankers begin offering HECM loans each day.

"Growing interest in HECM lending among traditional mortgage lenders is a trend that STRATMOR Group has been tracking for some time now," said Jim Cameron, senior partner at mortgage industry advisory firm STRATMOR Group. "The increased activity, which shows no signs of slowing, appears to be driven by factors inclulding favorable economic conditions, growth in HECM's core borrower demographic and the availability of HECM sales and origination technologies that compare favorably with their forward lending counterparts."

ReverseVision collects HECM data and insights from its flagship RVX LOS as well as its RV Sales Accelerator (RVSA) software. Since ReverseVision technology is used by a substantial share of the HECM market, including all 10 of the top-producing HECM lenders, its data is a strong indicator of overall industry trends.

RVX serves as a centralized exchange that connects all participants in the lifecycle of a HECM loan, allowing them to log in to a single system to share documents and information throughout the loan process. The system encompasses everything from point-of-sale, processing and underwriting to funding, post-closing and secondary marketing.

"In additional to an influx of traditional lenders and banking institutions entering the space, we have also experienced an increase in lenders leveraging our full suite of products for various reasons, including compliance," said Wendy Peel, VP of sales and marketing at ReverseVision. "Many of these mortgage bankers are realizing for the first time the impressive level of control they gain over their businesses by directly licensing our RVX software. They are finding that this control over products, pipeline and closing documents is a distinct advantage in enabling their forward loan officers to offer HECM loans, making the technology well worth the investment."

"Only after becoming a directly licensed RVX lender did I experience the platform's true potential," said Omar Ennabe, a mortgage originator with Ennkar, a division of San Diego-based Dyjero Corporation. "Having full access to administrative controls gives me the power to determine my doc packages and fees as well as efficiently manage my loan officers' pipelines - all of which I expect will result in increased loan volume."

Ennkar is an up-and-coming mortgage bank that is swiftly climbing the ranks of top HECM originators. The company is actively seeking branch acquisition opportunities to further expand its footprint on the West Coast and beyond.

In response to the influx of traditional lenders into the HECM industry, ReverseVision will dedicate an entire track of programming at its UserCon 2018 to educating those who have recently entered the HECM market or are considering doing so. The third annual event will be held February 6-8 at the Kona Kai Resort & Spa in San Diego. For more information, visit https://www.reversevision.com/usercon2018.

Western Ohio Mortgage Corp Selects ReverseVision’s RV Exchange LOS for Home Equity Conversion Mortgage Origination

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading technology provider for the reverse mortgage industry, today announced that Western Ohio Mortgage Corp. (WOMC) has selected RV Exchange (RVX) loan origination technology to support its Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) operations.

WOMC is a community lender serving customers in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Florida. An experienced originator of both conventional and specialized loan products, WOMC has offered HECM products for more than a decade, first as a broker and in more recent years underwriting its own reverse loans.

According to WOMC President Teresa Rose, the move to RVX coincides with growing interest in HECM origination among WOMC's loan officers, particularly when it comes to the HECM for Purchase. HECM for Purchase is a FHA-insured reverse mortgage program through which qualified borrowers can use the equity from the sale of a previous residence to buy their next primary home and take out a reverse mortgage with no required monthly principal and interest payment.

"One of the great things about RVX is that it has safeguards built in to help loan officers who are new to HECMs avoid missing essential steps in the origination workflow," said Rose. "Together with the specialized training Western Ohio Mortgage requires of all HECM loan officers, RVX makes it easy to originate HECMs efficiently and compliantly."

"ReverseVision welcomes the opportunity to serve Western Ohio Mortgage and its customers in the American heartland," said ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel. "HECM products are specifically designed to meet the needs of senior customers, making them an essential loan product for any lender who wants to continue delivering value to customers later in life."

ReverseVision's RVX serves as a centralized exchange that connects all participants in the lifecycle of a HECM loan and allows them to log in to a single system to share documents and information throughout the loan process. The system encompasses everything from point-of-sale, processing and underwriting to funding, post-closing and secondary marketing.

ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel Selected to HousingWire 2017 ‘Women of Influence’ List

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, today announced that Wendy Peel, its vice president of sales and marketing, has been named to HousingWire's 2017 "Women of Influence" list.

Peel was recognized for her industry-wide efforts to reposition the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM), once seen as a fringe loan product, as a timely and logical option for mortgage lenders serving borrowers age 62 and older. The strategy of Generational Lending(TM) is the latest push to normalize the HECM product with banks and mortgage lenders. Due in large part to Peel's strategic marketing, ReverseVision has earned a reputation as not only the HECM market's leading origination platform, but as a trusted expert in the industry.

After spearheading ReverseVision's inaugural user conference in 2016 - which convened industry leaders, lenders and brokers from 67 companies, including four of the nation's top five reverse lenders - Peel took UserCon up a notch in 2017. The most recent conference combined sessions designed to educate new-to-HECM originators on the basics of HECM lending with compelling compliance and technology training for seasoned HECM loan officers. An insightful presentation by noted mortgage industry expert Rob Chrisman brought the theme of introducing HECMs into traditional lending full circle.

Peel also crystallized a strategy to re-orient banks and credit unions to the product gap HECM loans fill for the retiring Baby Boomer generation. This concept targets normalizing the HECM product while explaining the benefits of offering these loans as part of a larger business plan.

"Wendy has been very influencial in the HECM lending niche since joining us in 2015," said ReverseVision President and CEO John Button. "Since then, she has led our efforts to encourage HECM lending by traditional lenders and banks. Her generational lending strategy is resonating with these businesses, and we are beginning to see an influx of new players entering the reverse mortgage space."

"As the mortgage industry continues to do the right thing - increase diversity in the workforce - the housing finance business will likewise keep moving from strength to strength," said HousingWire Editor-in-Chief Jacob Gaffney. "The progress is undeniable; as the number of influential women in housing grows, so does our recognition for the Influential Women of Housing. Our list is bigger and better than ever."

Peel previously served as vice president of sales and marketing for cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications provider CommercePromote and in similar roles at iCoStore, Take Notice, PNA and TransPerfect Translations.

Now in its seventh year, HousingWire's "Women of Influence" list honors individuals who have made notable contributions both to their businesses and to the industry at large. For a full list of honorees, visit: https://www.housingwire.com/articles/40821-women-of-influence-2017.

Up-and-comer ubermortgage Embraces Home-Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) with Technology from ReverseVision

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading technology provider for the reverse mortgage industry, has formed a partnership with ubermortgage Inc. to support the budding lender's increasing demand for home-equity conversion mortgages (HECMs) with its RV Exchange (RVX) loan origination technology.

Emerging this year as a wholly-owned subsidiary of South Pacific Financial Corp., ubermortgage describes itself as a consumer-direct lender that combines the convenience of call center and online loan shopping with a relationship-oriented customer service approach to meet the evolving needs of today's consumers.

According to CEO John Johnston, the FHA-insured HECM has been part of ubermortgage's product plan since the company's outset.

"HECMs are an important opportunity for ubermortgage to create value for our customers," said Johnston. "We have a fiduciary responsibility to offer all borrowers, including those age 62 and older, flexible loan options that meet their needs."

An experienced traditional lender, Johnston knew that getting up to date on the latest changes to the HECM program was an essential first step. He signed up for training through RV University (RVU) and completed a live, three-day training course designed to springboard the success of companies like ubermortgage that have yet to establish their own HECM training. The course also gives attendees the opportunity to test-drive RVX.

ReverseVision's RVX serves as a centralized exchange that connects all participants in the lifecycle of a HECM loan and allows them to log in to a single system to share documents and information for each part of the loan process. The system encompasses everything from point-of-sale, processing and underwriting to funding, post-closing and secondary marketing.

For Johnston, choosing RVX was not difficult.

"Based on my years of experience, ReverseVision technology is the best out there, and I want ubermortgage and to be associated with the best. It's as simple as that," said Johnston. "We are committed to doing whatever it takes to perform exceptionally, create value for our consumers and differentiate ourselves in the marketplace."

"Ubermortgage has come out of the gates strong by embracing a diverse array of loan products that serve consumers at every step in their homeownership journey," said Wendy Peel, vice president of sales and marketing for ReverseVision. "We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with ubermortgage that will bring HECM loans to more of the consumers who will benefit from the financial flexibility they offer."

Kiel Mortgage Selects ReverseVision RVX Loan Origination Software to Support Expansion of Its HECM Division

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, today announced that Kiel Mortgage has chosen RV Exchange (RVX) loan origination software (LOS) to power its home-equity conversion mortgage (HECM) division.

Founded three decades ago by a husband-and-wife team, Kiel Mortgage is a privately-held mortgage lender serving three states in the Pacific Northwest region. After originating a handful of HECMs over the years, Kiel Mortgage Co-founder Laura Kiel decided to add HECMs as a permanent part of Kiel Mortgage's product line and created a reverse lending division under her supervision.

"Even before establishing our reverse mortgage division, we were originating a few HECMs per year. With each transaction, we saw how helpful this product is and how much comfort and peace of mind it brings to borrowers," Kiel said. "Once HUD revamped the HECM program to offer even greater borrower benefits and security, we knew HECMs would become an important opportunity for many people over the age of 62 and decided to establish a specialty in reverse mortgages."

Committed to educating the Pacific Northwest on all things HECM, Kiel makes a monthly appearance on "Aging Options," a radio show that focuses on a wide range of issues affecting seniors. Hosted by an elder law attorney, "Aging Options" is the number one-rated Saturday morning radio program in the Seattle area. In addition, Kiel Mortgage hosts its own weekly radio show on Sundays to educate listeners on the Seattle-area housing market and answer questions on real estate financing options, including HECMs.

"As both a dedicated originator of HECM loans and passionate advocate for borrower and industry education, Kiel Mortgage represents the very best in reverse mortgage lending. We are thrilled to help facilitate their growth in the reverse mortgage space," said ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel. "With product-specific technology from ReverseVision, Kiel Mortgage is well placed to continue expansion of its reverse mortgage division and offer seniors in the Pacific Northwest options for purchasing a home or aging in place comfortably."

RVX, ReverseVision's flagship product, provides a single platform in which all participants in the reverse mortgage lifecycle can connect to exchange documents and data for each part of the origination process. The system also encompasses functionality to power a lender's entire reverse mortgage operations, including point-of-sale, processing, underwriting, funding, post-closing and secondary marketing.

"All of the investors we work with use RVX, so it made total sense for us to deploy it as our reverse LOS. We didn't even consider another option," Kiel said.

To support Kiel Mortgage's implementation of RVX, ReverseVision's Professional Services team conducted on-site installation and training at the lender's Renton, Washington, headquarters over the course of two days.

Having recently expanded its reverse mortgage division to include dedicated personnel in California, Kiel says the company plans to add additional staff in Oregon to support its HECM origination efforts.

"Reverse mortgages are truly an emerging market; it's a specialized product that requires dedicated attention and care," Kiel added. "Thanks in part to our education efforts, we're seeing a dramatic, positive shift in the perception of reverse mortgages in our area."

Skyline Financial Corp. Lays Groundwork for New Reverse Mortgage Division with Technology, Training from ReverseVision

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, has forged a partnership with Skyline Financial Corp. (Skyline Home Loans and NewLeaf Lending) to support the lender's growing reverse mortgage division with RV Exchange (RVX) loan origination technology and RV University (RVU) training programs.

One of the nation's top 50 mortgage lenders and a leading national issuer of Ginnie Mae securities, Skyline has originated a modest number of FHA-insured home-equity conversion mortgages (HECMs) over the years, mostly on a hybrid correspondent basis. According to industry veteran and recently appointed Division Vice President Joe Renner, Skyline is now ready to focus on becoming a full-fledged reverse mortgage lender.

"The home-equity conversion mortgage is often overlooked as a viable home-equity alternative, and it's especially underutilized as a means of purchasing a home. By growing our retail efforts and expanding HECM products to our wholesale channel, we can better serve the needs of Skyline customers," said Rinner. "Getting the right technology and training from ReverseVision was our first step."

ReverseVision's RVX serves as a centralized exchange, connecting all participants in the lifecycle of a reverse mortgage and allowing them to log in to a single system to share documents and information for each part of the loan process. The system encompasses everything from point-of-sale, processing and underwriting to funding, post-closing and secondary marketing.

"ReverseVision is proud to support a lender of Skyline's size and influence in making HECM loans available to more consumers," said Wendy Peel, vice president of sales and marketing for ReverseVision. "Skyline serves as the model for how large lenders can leverage an established network of traditional loan officers to create a thriving reverse mortgage line of business."

ReverseVision also offers live and online training programs through its RVU education platform, including a three-day course specifically designed to help companies like Skyline that have yet to establish their own HECM training accelerate the origination process.

Patrick Trolley, a mortgage planner and senior account executive with Skyline and NewLeaf, attended ReverseVision's accelerated loan originator training in April. An experienced traditional lender, Tromley had no specific knowledge of reverse mortgage lending. He enrolled in the training not only to springboard his own HECM origination efforts, but to better support his network of broker clientele.

"It was a great experience. I learned a lot and left the training feeling confident enough to line up two leads within a week," said Tromley. "I would recommend this training to anyone who is contemplating getting into the HECM space."

ReverseVision Expands RV University (RVU) with 3-Day Live Training Course that Accelerates Reverse Mortgage Loan Originator Success

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, today announced the expansion of its RV University (RVU) education and training program with the addition of a three-day Accelerated Loan Originator Training course available live each month at ReverseVision's San Diego training facility.

Launched in March, the live training course is specifically designed for loan originators and processors looking for quality Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) education and software training. Both front-line originators and managers will benefit from programming designed to accelerate the HECM origination process and position companies to achieve optimum results.

ReverseVision will offer the course on a monthly basis and is currently accepting enrollment for its May and June sessions. The three-day session covers all facets of HECM education, beginning with a primer on loan structure and regulatory guidelines on day one. Day two gives students hands-on practice preparing proposals and disclosures for various origination scenarios using ReverseVision technology. On the final day of the training, attendees learn compliant and successful sales methods for describing HECM loans to a range of borrowers and referral partners.

Mickey Cunningham, an experienced forward loan originator with Gateway Mortgage Group, is one of 11 students who attended the first Accelerated Loan Originator Training session in March. Gateway Mortgage Group is among the largest privately held mortgage bankers in the country.

"The HECM product is unlike any other loan product I've worked with during my 26-year career in mortgage," said Cunningham. "While it was great to test-drive ReverseVision's excellent technology, what really stood out for me was the incredible amount of loan education. Anyone who is going to originate HECM loans needs to have this kind of training."

Christina Harmes, assistant manager of C2 Financial's reverse mortgage division, also attended the session. C2 is the largest mortgage broker in California and second-largest broker in the United States.

"Reverse mortgages will be trending for some time thanks to rising interest rates and the size of the Baby Boomer generation. There's a real need for comprehensive training to help forward loan officers learn how to originate reverse mortgages," said Harmes. "In fact, that's why I enrolled in RVU - to evaluate whether the program could be used to help C2 as we train more forward loan officers to originate HECM products."

"I was really pleased by the amount of information geared toward HECM newcomers and the methodical way it was delivered," Harmes continued, "but what I didn't expect is that I would learn so much myself. As a professional who's closed many reverse mortgages, it was gratifying to receive definitive answers to some more advanced questions I've been wondering about for some time."

ReverseVision has offered 24/7 online training through its RVU platform for the last three years. RVU's online classes remain an affordable option for mortgage lenders seeking introductory and "refresher" HECM education. In addition, select courses qualify attendees to earn credits toward Nationwide Multi-State Licensing System (NMLS) and Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional (CRMP) continuing education requirements. The CRMP program, administered by the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA), is the highest industry credential for reverse mortgage professionals.

"Key regulatory changes have evolved the HECM significantly, which is why both new and experienced reverse mortgage professionals stand to benefit from hands-on training that addresses product knowledge, HECM selling techniques and the RV Exchange software," said Wendy Peel, vice president of sales and marketing at ReverseVision. "Normalizing this product so that more traditional lenders see HECMs as a natural addition to their product offerings will be key to our industry's continued growth and success."

Atlantic Coast Mortgage Chooses ReverseVision’s RVX Loan Origination Software for New HECM Division

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, today announced that Atlantic Coast Mortgage (ACM) has selected RV Exchange (RVX) loan origination software (LOS) to support its new home-equity conversion mortgage (HECM) division.

Founded in 2011 by mortgage industry veterans, ACM is a privately-held mortgage lender serving seven states in the Mid-Atlantic region. The company hired Senior Vice President Craig Minton, formerly of Bank of America and Wells Fargo, to establish a new HECM division with a special focus on the HECM for Purchase product. HECM for Purchase is an FHA-insured reverse mortgage program through which qualified borrowers can purchase a home with no required monthly mortgage payment.

"Whether it be to purchase a new home or refinance an existing home, the reverse mortgage loan is an excellent addition to ACM's portfolio of quality loan products that help borrowers achieve their financial and homeownership dreams," said Minton. "Our dedicated reverse mortgage consultants will work closely with our experienced team of traditional loan officers and real estate agent partners to serve the needs of our senior clients."

"Atlantic Coast Mortgage is a highly respected and growing regional lender, and we are delighted to facilitate their entry into the reverse mortgage business," said ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel. "The ACM team will benefit from technology that supports the entire reverse mortgage process from end to end, and its customers will gain access to a home-equity option that opens new doors for purchasing a home or extending retirement income."

ReverseVision's RVX serves as a centralized exchange, connecting all participants in the lifecycle of a reverse mortgage by allowing them to log in to a single system to share documents and information for each part of the loan process, encompassing everything from point-of-sale, processing, underwriting, funding and post-closing to secondary marketing.

"RVX is a very user-friendly software, which is why it's the go-to technology for the reverse mortgage industry. My past experiences using RVX were incredibly positive, so it's the software I recommended we use at ACM," Minton said.

ReverseVision's Professional Services team traveled to ACM's Fairfax, Virginia, headquarters to oversee turnkey integration of RVX into ACM's origination software over the course of just two days.

ACM plans to grow its dedicated team of reverse mortgage consultants and is actively seeking loan officers with HECM origination experience.

"What sets us apart from most of our competitors is the level of service we deliver to senior clients," said Minton. "Our reverse mortgage consultants provide in-home consultations to each client so they can feel comfortable in their own setting while learning about the reverse mortgage loan program."

"Our senior population is healthier and as a result is living longer," Minton continued. "The biggest concern among seniors is not dying - it's running out of money. For many seniors, the reverse mortgage is a safe and effective strategy to assist in funding their retirement."

Bank of England Mortgage Helps Customers Get More Out of Retirement with Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECM) and ReverseVision Technology

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, today announced that Bank of England (BOE) Mortgage, a nationwide mortgage lender based in England, Arkansas, has selected RV Exchange (RVX) loan origination software (LOS) to support its growing Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) division.

Branch Manager Chad Cavanaugh, who oversees the lender's HECM division from its Farmington Hills, Michigan location, said that implementing RVX will support BOE Mortgage as it grows the HECM division and expands availability of a home-equity product that is a boon for retirees. BOE Mortgage has been in business for 118 years and provides customers access to hundreds of mortgage products, including HECMs.

"A HECM loan can be a great solution for anyone over 62 who's on a fixed income, and more people are recognizing its value every day," Cavanaugh said. "With HECM, we can give our customers a way to keep their home and still enjoy the equity they've put into it. It's a great way to deepen our relationship with customers as they move into retirement."

Cavanaugh said the bank chose to work with ReverseVision because of its reputation as the industry standard and its smooth integration with other systems.

"RVX integrates easily with our other software, so salespeople and loan officers can all easily work together on the same file," said Cavanaugh. "Information only has to be entered once, and then RVX populates all relevant programs and documents. This makes our process more efficient and helps position us for some significant growth in the HECM arena."

RVX is ReverseVision's flagship product and serves clients as a centralized exchange that connects all participants in the lifecycle of a reverse mortgage - a model that is unique in the mortgage industry. By logging in to a single system, participants can work together on each part of the loan process, from point of sale, processing, underwriting, funding and post-closing to secondary marketing. In addition to a more efficient process, Bank of England will benefit from reduced document errors, heightened information security and shorter fulfillment timelines.

"We're delighted to partner with Bank of England in helping customers achieve a more well-rounded retirement portfolio through this home-equity product," said ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel. "People 62 and older hold over $6 trillion in home equity in the U.S., making HECM origination not only an excellent business decision but also a smart customer relationship move to serve the bank's most valuable customers: baby boomers."

ReverseVision’s Second Annual User Conference Draws Newcomers to Reverse Mortgage Industry

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, drew a record crowd of reverse mortgage lenders, brokers and industry newcomers to its second annual user conference February 8-10 at the Hilton San Diego Mission Bay Resort and Spa.

More than 90 companies attended the sold-out event, including many "new to the industry" participants who are exploring the possibility of adding the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) and related products to their businesses. ReverseVision's opening "HECM Facts Track" session, developed especially for new reverse mortgage originators, kicked off an agenda geared toward bringing traditional mortgage bankers into the reverse mortgage industry. Based on pre-registration figures, ReverseVision projected as many as 50 individuals would attend the session; in reality, attendance nearly doubled those expectations.

Other conference sessions covered a diverse array of topics designed to accelerate attendees' reverse lending efforts in 2017, including compliance, data trends and technology training. Guest speakers from the nation's top reverse mortgage lenders revealed best practices for marketing, networking and wholesale operations, while special session speaker Rob Chrisman and panelists from Fidelity Bank, Banner Bank and Yadkin Bank shared perspectives from traditional bank lending.

"As one of the nation's top 10 reverse lenders, HighTechLending participates in many conventions. ReverseVision's user conference is our favorite because of the great content and great attendance not just by owners, but by producers," said Don Currie, president of HighTechLending. "Our first panel drew an audience of close to 100 lenders, all new to the industry. The next week we followed up by hosting a 'Rock the Reverse World' webinar that over 60 attended. We'll definitely be back next year."

"We are optimistic that so many new mortgage bankers attended to learn more about the HECM product and its essential place as a product or line of business in any mortgage banker's strategy," said Wendy Peel, vice president of sales and marketing for ReverseVision.

Peel elaborated, "Shifting interest rates are encouraging mortgage bankers to find a replacement for their dwindling refi businesses. Considering the more than six trillion dollars in home equity currently held by baby boomers, this lending product cannot be ignored as a viable product line serving a growing population."

ReverseVision has already begun planning its next user conference, which will return to San Diego in February 2018.

"Ninety-five percent of this year's attendees said they are more than likely to return in 2018," said Kelly Kelleher, ReverseVision's director of corporate marketing and events, "so we highly recommend registering early."

Attendees and ReverseVision customers are encouraged to view handouts from this year's conference by visiting http://www.reversevision.com/handouts.

Since joining ReverseVision as marketing manager in 2013, Kelleher has worn many hats and helped guide projects ranging from a full-scale corporate rebranding to targeted marketing campaigns to drive user participation in ReverseVision's flagship reverse mortgage loan origination system (LOS), ReverseVision Exchange (RVX). Mortgage Banking Expert Rob Chrisman to Address Special Session at RV UserCon 2017

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, Inc., the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, today announced that mortgage industry expert Rob Chrisman will address attendees of RV UserCon 2017 as a special session speaker on February 9 in San Diego.

According to Chrisman, market conditions are ripe for traditional "forward" lenders to consider adding new products, including reverse mortgages, to their portfolios.

"At times like this, with rising interest rates beginning to squeeze volumes and profit margins, mortgage companies are turning their attention to product diversification," Chrisman said. "At the same time, 10,000 Americans turn 62 every day. Demographics like that are hard to ignore. Mortgage managers need to take a look at reverse mortages that serve this population alongside ARMs, jumbo loans, non-QM lending and other products they are considering adding to their mix."

"Rob is one of the mortgage banking industry's most esteemed voices. We are thrilled to bring his perspective and decades of experience in forward lending to our conference attendees," said ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel.

Chrisman's session, part of ReverseVision's second annual user conference held February 8-10 at the San Diego Hilton Resort and Spa, will address common questions traditional lenders have about the reverse mortgage business, how new lenders entering the space could benefit reverse professionals and the potential affects these lenders may have on the industry in 2017.

"Lenders' chief concerns are how the product helps their customers and how to profitably originate reverse mortgages in a compliant manner that doesn't subject them to public or regulatory scrutiny," said Chrisman. "As mortgage banker portfolio managers consider this product, they need to understand that traditional measures of forward lending don't really apply. With reverse mortgages, three or four loans a month can be a great month for a loan officer. It's all about the margins."

What that means, according to Peel, is that it's relatively easy, from a technology and training perspective, for a traditional lender to improve its bottom line by creating a reverse marketing division with just a few loan officers specializing in the product.

"Traditional mortgage bankers have a rich database of potential HECM clients. By partnering with experienced reverse mortgage lenders, they can tap into that potential and easily jumpstart a revenue center," said Peel.
A residential lending professional with over 30 years of experience, Chrisman is publisher of Daily Mortgage News and Commentary ( http://www.robchrisman.com/ ). Chrisman's commentary, delivered daily as an email newsletter to 50,000 subscribers, is informed by his experience as president of OnCall Mortgage, later acquired by Wells Fargo. He also served as director of secondary marketing for CMG Mortgage and director of capital markets for RPM Mortgage.
Chrisman serves on the boards of AXIS Appraisal Management Solutions, Peoples Bank, Inheritance Funding Corporation, International City Mortgage and the California Mortgage Bankers Association.

reverse mortgage industry

SAN DIEGO, Calif., May 12, 2016 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of software and technology for the reverse mortgage industry, today announced that Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel is one of Mortgage Professional America (MPA) magazine's 2016 "Elite Women in Mortgage."

Peel was recognized for her significant contributions to the mortgage industry and efforts to transform public perception of the reverse mortgage by promoting greater training and partnership among lenders, financial planners and consumers.

"Wendy really hit the ground running when she joined ReverseVision early last year," said ReverseVision President and CEO John Button. "In less than 18 months, she has helped ReverseVision grow from a recognized name in reverse mortgage technology to a trusted leader in reverse lending education and collaboration. We are thrilled, but unsurprised, to see Wendy singled out as one of MPA's Elite Women in Mortgage."

A publication of Key Media, MPA delivers news, opinion and analysis to mortgage, real estate and finance industry professionals through its bi-monthly magazine and daily email newsletter. Its annual list of "Elite Women in Mortgage" recognizes influential women leaders in the mortgage industry.

Since Peel joined the company, ReverseVision has added 700 new lenders and brokers to its flagship loan origination system, RV Exchange (RVX). RVX is currently used by nine of the top ten reverse mortgage lenders, and more reverse mortgages are originated on the LOS than all other systems combined. 2016 also saw Peel's successful launch of ReverseVision's inaugural User Conference, which convened lenders and brokers from 67 companies, including four of the nation's top five reverse lenders.

"I am privileged to be honored among such an accomplished field of industry peers," said Peel. "While our industry has made great strides in recent years, this recognition only motivates me to set my sights on the next set of challenges facing our customers and their clients."

Home Point Financial and ReverseVision Partner to Offer Mortgage Lender-Focused HECM Luncheon

Home-Equity Loans Facts Track

SAN DIEGO, Calif., May 4, 2016 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- ReverseVision, Inc. (ReverseVision) is pleased to announce that it is again offering the popular "Home-Equity Loans Facts Track" seminar for mortgage lenders interested in learning more about the home-equity conversion mortgage (HECM) loan on May 11 at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, Sandpiper Room from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Mortgage lending expert Josh Shein, senior director at Home Point Financial (Home Point), and Wendy Peel, vice president of sales and marketing at ReverseVision, will set attendees on the path of understanding how to meet their most valuable customers where they are in life and retain them - and possibly their children - as life-long clients.

Attendees will learn about:
* explosive customer need;
* perceived reputational risk;
* new and improved guidelines;
* HECMs as a retirement tool;
* HECM 101;
* lead generation and marketing; and
* how to get started.

Originally conducted in conjunction with ReverseVision's 2016 User Conference, "Home-Equity Loans Facts Track" attendees gain insight into how the HECM product can help mortgage lending professionals better serve consumers, expand their retirement services offering and improve profitability. Recognized by leading financial planners as a safe, secure and lucrative way to increase revenue, HECM has seen consumer demand grow on pace as the Baby Boomer generation moves into its retirement years at a rate of 10,000 per day.

"This luncheon is vital to mortgage lenders, bankers and credit unions that want to serve their 62-plus consumers as they make home buying, home equity or retirement decisions," said Peel. "Attendees will learn from experts how HECM loans are a powerful product for their borrower as well as a lucrative one for their business. HECM loans were conceived to serve this demographic specifically by allowing the home-equity asset to be optimized in retirement, making it a fiduciary responsibility for lenders to discuss this option with qualified consumers."

Interested mortgage and banking professionals can RSVP for the "Home-Equity Loans Facts Track" luncheon at http://bit.ly/HECMFactsTrack.

NOVA Home Loans Chooses ReverseVision Exchange (RVX) Software to Originate Reverse Mortgages, Deliver to Investors

reverse mortgage industry

SAN DIEGO, Calif., March 30, 2016 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- ReverseVision announced today that NOVA(R) Home Loans (NOVA), a Tucson, Arizona-based mortgage lender serving the Southwestern United States, has selected RV Exchange (RVX) as its reverse mortgage loan origination software (LOS). NOVA has originated reverse mortgages as a correspondent lender since 2014.

According to Glen Smart, manager of NOVA's reverse mortgage division, the lender selected RVX for its superior integration with secondary market investors. "Frankly, the first question we ask whenever we partner with a new investor is, 'Will you work with RV Exchange?'" Smart said.

RVX is San Diego, Calif.-based ReverseVision's flagship product. The LOS serves as a centralized exchange, connecting all participants in the lifecycle of a reverse mortgage by allowing them to log in to a single system to share documents and information for each part of the loan process.

"RV Exchange allows us to deliver the same reverse mortgage package to any number of investor partners," Smart said. "We don't have to learn and open a bunch of different investors' systems to compare options. We absolutely love that."

RVX encompasses everything from point-of-sale, processing, underwriting, funding and post-closing to secondary marketing. This central exchange model is unique in the mortgage industry and offers benefits to all parties that include reduced document errors, heightened information security and shorter fulfillment timelines.

At NOVA, loan officers refer all reverse mortgage leads to a team of dedicated reverse mortgage specialists. Referring loan officers receive a referral fee when the loan closes.

"We've found that when leads are handled exclusively by certified reverse mortgage experts, customer interactions are better and loans close more frequently," said Smart. "I would love to see everyone in the industry shift to a model that relies on specialists versus the loan officer that tries to do one or two reverse mortgages a year. That's where mistakes get made, files are delayed, seniors are upset and the program gets a bad name."

NOVA is the largest independent mortgage bank in Arizona. Licensed in 12 states, NOVA currently operates branches in Arizona, Colorado and Nevada.

"Through RVX, NOVA Home Loans matches the needs of senior borrowers and investors, both of whom receive unique benefits from HECM loans," said ReverseVision Vice President of Sales and Marketing Wendy Peel. The HUD-insured home-equity conversion mortgage (HECM) is the most widely used reverse mortgage product. It allows homeowners age 62 and older to tap into their home equity as a source of income or line of credit.

"HECM can be an ideal solution for Baby Boomers who want to age in place and extend their finances throughout retirement," Peel said. "NOVA's commitment to the reverse mortgage business and to educating REALTORS(R), financial planners and seniors on reverse mortgage products is a boon to the communities it serves."

Smart also acknowledged the role of education in growing NOVA's reverse mortgage division. "We teach continuing education classes on reverse mortgages to real estate agents," Smart said, "and my goal for 2016 is to increase the number of interactions we have with financial planners, CPAs and estate attorneys. These professionals serve as trusted advisors and can help seniors and their families compare options and make the best possible financial decisions for their situation."

About NOVA(R) Home Loans:

Licensed in 15 states with branch locations throughout Arizona, Colorado and Nevada, NOVA has served the needs of homeowners and homebuyers since 1980. As one of the fastest-growing lenders in the Southwest, NOVA provides customers with the lending strength of a large financial institution and the flexibility of a local business, including specialized loan programs that traditional banks may not offer. At NOVA, loan applications are handled in-house from start to finish for exceptional service and closing speed.
