Legal Counsel for Blockchain Smart Contracts Announced for Carbon Tokenization

CHEYENNE, Wyo. /ScoopCloud/ -- Carbon Asset Network (CAN) announces that Oklahoma-based Wurtz & Associates will provide oversight and facilitation of the blockchain-based "smart contracts" related to the recently revealed initiative by CAN. Through an innovative protocol, this process tokenizes land resources for carbon sequestration and protection of the soil and water resources. The initiative will also have support from a Digital Asset Manager who will provide the information necessary to validate the resource's title and ensure the smart contracts are properly in place. The use of blockchain creates a secure, unchangeable title and legal language in contracts so there is upmost transparency and accountability. This initiative will be the first to apply this type of technology to a real property in a way that not only benefits the landowner, but also benefits the land and promotes climate wellness.

Blockchain Meets Agriculture to Improve Soil and Air Quality

This new model is designed to be a private enterprise alternative to Cap and Trade methods, which have not proved successful since its inception in 2009.

The Carbon Asset Network joins with nonprofit Synergy for Ecological Solutions to provide grants which allow land managers to take action for a Total Ecological Solution through soil health. Often these new methods increase operating costs and capital investment. The grants allow the land managers to take action right away to maximize soil health.

As soil becomes healthier, there is more oxygen released to the air, and more carbon pulled into the roots and soil (carbon sequestration) through the natural process of photosynthesis. Land managers include not only those in the agriculture industry, but managers of parks, golf courses, undeveloped land, or anyone who manages open land.

"It's actually very simple," says John Robitaille, Director of Carbon Asset Network. "Nature has its own way to increase air quality and that's photosynthesis. Working with Ember Labs, we have created a method utilizing blockchain that simply makes this feasible and effective in a private enterprise scenario, which lets those who want to help both our soils and our air quality. Many air quality programs are designed to eliminate emissions from fossil fuel. This new method, however, is designed to take any carbon out of the air immediately and is not reliant on adoption of alternative energy sources so that the air can improve sooner rather than later.

Synergy for Ecological Solutions Makes Grant for Soil Health and Climate Wellness

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- The nonprofit Synergy for Ecological Solutions made their first grant to Carbon Asset Network's landowner member, Hellyer Ranch. This grant will enable the ranch to execute a customized plan for greater soil health developed by both Hellyer and Carbon Asset Network's certified professional agronomist, Neal Fehringer.

The increase in soil health is a result in improving plant production, which causes an increase in photosynthesis. More photosynthesis removes additional carbon dioxide from the air and, in turn release more oxygen into the air and secures more carbon into the soil by increased root growth from more vegetative growth. This is the basis for 'carbon sinks' and 'carbon sequestration,' which is Nature's method of cleaning our air.

"Sometimes it's not understood that there's a natural connection between improving our soil and reducing carbon in our air," says John Robitaille, Director of Carbon Asset Network (CAN). "CAN works with the manager of the land to develop a customized science-based solution to increase soil health and meet their land goals. This is the new way forward."

The manager of the land, called Land Stewards, enlists in the You360 program, which provides funding to develop the soil for one year. The Land Stewards can be ranchers, farmers, or managers of any open land, such as parks or golf courses. This is not connected to any government program and the funding comes from donations to the nonprofit, Synergy for Ecological Solutions.

The nonprofit has developed a unique way to fundraise for climate wellness, using donated funds to clean our air, which empowers individuals and businesses to be advocates for the environment.

"There are many people who wake up each day, concerned about our climate. And, businesses are looking for ways to meet ESG goals. Yet, until now, the only solutions offered were to eat vegan, recycle, and perhaps protest fossil fuels. SYNERGY gives the opportunity to donate in order to improve soil health," says Jeff Holder, Director of Synergy for Ecological Solutions. "We encourage a change of mindset. Rather than wishing for a carbon neutral future in the next few years or decades, let's make a change right now, today. Finally, everyone can do something that has a direct impact on our climate."

In the You360 program, donors can donate towards one acre of land for $30 a month/$360 a year. It's a one-year commitment and the funds pay for agronomy/soil testing and development, with the lion's share going directly to the Land Steward.

The funds are often used for additional equipment such as a no-till drill or for fencing and labor to help with mob grazing, a practice that has proven to sequester more carbon.

"We celebrate this new way to help ranchers improve their soil," says Jim Magagna, Executive Vice-President of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association. "With funds from CAN, the rancher is able to adjust their operation with the result of healthier soil and healthier land."

"At Hellyer Ranch, we have taken some steps towards soil health, but with this grant, we can accomplish major goals," says Jim Hellyer. "You'll never find a better steward for our environment than someone who manages land."

Synergy for Ecological Solutions Brings Innovation of Climate Wellness Through Soil Health

SYNERGY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving our environment through a one-of-a-kind program of climate wellness through soil health and other ecological synergies.

President Biden's climate-focused administration has identified carbon capture in soils as critical to air quality health. The You360 program can take advantage of any open land to create carbon sinks for trapping the carbon out of the air.

The US Department of Agriculture has quantified the vast carbon storage potential of healthy soil. A recent study by USDA scientists estimates that Wyoming's rangelands alone have the capacity to store carbon from over 11 million tons of carbon dioxide annually. Combined with acreage across the West and Midwest, the potential to create climate wellness is immense.

"Using our open lands, we can work on carbon neutrality today, not years from now. If we focus on science, it will lead to interaction between soil health and climate wellness," says John Robitaille of Carbon Asset Network.

Landowner Receives Right of First Refusal for Water and Gas – Landmark Surface-Use Agreement Signed for ESG Goals

CHEYENNE, Wyo. /ScoopCloud/ -- Encore Green Environmental announces a step forward in landowner relationships with the energy industry. The O.J. Enterprise ranch operation outside Cheyenne, Wyoming has secured a unique surface-use agreement with a Dallas-based midstream company, allowing the ranch to receive the right of first refusal for the produced/by-product water and any potential flare gas.

Encore Green Environmental has worked with the Goertz family for three years to now successfully bring water from an energy source to their land, to be put to beneficial use for ag and conservation. This new agreement paves the way for the landowner and midstream company to meet Environmental, Stewardship, Governance (ESG) goals.

Owen Goertz, co-owner of the ranch, said, "Today, we finally broke the glass ceiling. We ranch on arid land and additional water is vital to us and every rancher working today. This signals a new era."

The agreement was brokered by Kimberly Wurtz of Dennis & Wurtz PLLC. "We tell landowners that 'Your property is our priority' as we work to find new paths for stronger landowner relationships in the energy space. Our goal is to create a win-win," says Kimberly Wurtz.

"We've just created a win-win for all concerned," says Marvin Nash of Encore Green Environmental. "We've said for a while now that the energy industry's next midstream partner is agriculture. This is the new way forward."

John Robitaille, who works with Encore Green Environmental and is the director of the Carbon Asset Network, sees great potential in this as well, "This acreage will be a part of CAN, which is a company dedicated to increasing soil health. Better soil is the key for the land to healthier vegetation, a greater yield, and through photosynthesis, an increase in carbon sequestration." CAN is partnered with the nonprofit Synergy for Ecological Solutions.

Synergy for Ecological Solutions is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit who bring donors called Change Agents together with Land Stewards.
