SANTA CLARA, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- SecuGen, the world's leading optical fingerprint device and technology vendor, is pleased to announce that they will unveil the U10-SF at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The U10-SF is an ultra-slim standalone fingerprint sensor module designed for OEMs and developers to embed into a wide variety of hardware products that require fingerprint biometric functionality.

It comes preloaded with SecuGen's Fingerprint Management System software that allows it to be used right out of the box to capture fingerprint images, extract templates, enroll, search and match fingerprints all in one device.

The U10-SF hardware is FBI certified for use in FIPS 201 PIV and Mobile ID FAP 10 applications. The template extraction and matching algorithms that run on the device are NIST MINEX compliant.

The core of the U10-SF sensor module is the rugged, high image quality U10 optical fingerprint sensor released earlier this year. The U10-SF features a Single Board Computer having a 1 GHz CPU, a fully programmable Linux system, SecuGen's fingerprint matching SDK, and OpenSSL cryptographic libraries. All of this is integrated into a compact package almost identical in size to the ultra-slim U10 itself. The U10-SF provides the tools and technologies that allow for the rapid and efficient development of a wide variety of embedded fingerprint solutions where high quality, rugged design, and affordability are key factors.

At less than 13 millimeters thin, the U10 fingerprint sensor module is the world's smallest FBI certified FAP 10 optical fingerprint sensor. The U10 is the same sensor that is used inside of SecuGen's newly-released Hamster Pro 10 fingerprint reader. The U10 module is designed to be easily embedded into nearly any type of hardware device to increase security and authenticate users, such as mobile handheld devices, ATMs, point of sale hardware, access control devices, laptops, portable equipment, and many other types of products where space is limited.

SecuGen's U10 sensor is certified by the FBI for meeting the high image quality standards required by the FIPS 201 PIV program and Mobile ID FAP 10. This fingerprint reader is ruggedly designed with an optical glass platen that resists scratching and is easy to integrate using SecuGen's full suite of free software developer kits for Window, Android and Linux. As with all SecuGen products, the U10 is well-priced for mass deployments.
