SecuGen to Release the U10-SF, the World’s Smallest Programmable Fingerprint Module, at Connect:ID 2019

SANTA CLARA, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- SecuGen, a world leading optical fingerprint device and technology vendor, is pleased to announce the official release of the U10-SF, an ultra-slim standalone fingerprint sensor module designed for OEMs and developers to integrate with their products that require fingerprint biometric functionality.

With a very compact modular design capable of being embedded into a wide variety of hardware products, the U10-SF can store up to 20,000 fingerprint templates or 10,000 users and comes preloaded with SecuGen's Fingerprint Management System software that allows it to be used right out of the box to capture fingerprint images, extract templates, enroll, search and match fingerprints all in one device.

The U10-SF hardware is FBI certified for use in FIPS 201 PIV and Mobile ID FAP 10 applications. The template extraction and matching algorithms that run on the device are NIST MINEX compliant.

The core of the U10-SF sensor module is the rugged, high image quality U10 optical fingerprint sensor. The U10-SF features a Single Board Computer having a 1 GHz CPU, a fully programmable Linux system, SecuGen's fingerprint matching SDK, and OpenSSL cryptographic libraries. All of this is integrated into a compact package almost identical in size to the ultra-slim U10 itself. The U10-SF provides the tools and technologies that allow for the rapid and efficient development of a wide variety of embedded fingerprint solutions where high quality, rugged design, and affordability are key factors.

The U10 sensor is the sensor used inside of SecuGen's newly released Hamster Pro 10 fingerprint reader. Only 12 millimeters thin, the U10 is the world's thinnest FBI certified FAP 10 optical fingerprint sensor. The U10 can be easily embedded in nearly any type of hardware device, such as ATMs, access control devices, laptops, handhelds, industrial equipment and many other types of products.

SecuGen's U10 sensor is FAP 10 certified by the FBI, rugged with an optical glass platen, and easy to integrate using SecuGen's full suite of free software developer kits.

Both the U10 sensor and Hamster Pro 10 fingerprint reader are compatible with SecuGen's free SDKs for Windows, Linux, and Android. The Hamster Pro 10 also works with Windows Hello right out of the box for convenient fingerprint login to Windows 10 computers.
