Capital Subaru of Greenville to Participate in 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event

GREENVILLE, N.C. /ScoopCloud/ -- Capital Subaru of Greenville announced its participation in the 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event and selected the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina as their hometown charity to be added to the list of organizations that customers can select to receive a Subaru Share the Love donation.

The Subaru Share the Love Event ran from November 19, 2020 to January 4, 2021 and allowed Subaru retailers the opportunity to select charities operating in their community to be included in a list of organizations that new owners can select from to receive a $250 donation from Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA).

For a fifth year in a row, there was no cap on the total donation from SOA to its Subaru Share the Love Event charitable partners. At the culmination of the 2020-year, SOA and its retailers exceeded the projected grand total of $200 million donated since the creation of the Subaru Share the Love Event.

The thirteenth-annual Subaru Share the Love Event included the following four national charities:

* The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®)

* Make-A-Wish®

* Meals on Wheels America

* National Park Foundation.

In addition to the national charities that are participating, Humane Society of Eastern Carolina was included as the hometown charity for new Subaru owners to receive donations at the end of the event. Capital Subaru of Greenville will present a check for $22,400 to the Humane Society on March 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

Capital Subaru of Greensboro Share the Love Event to Support ‘Now What?’ Charity

GREENSBORO, N.C. /ScoopCloud/ -- Capital Subaru of Greensboro will generously present a check for $16,369.56 to the "Now What?" charity, a network for widows, at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018, at the Share the Love event.

"Now What?" is a non-profit, compassionate organization dedicated to helping widows find help and support. Offering a safe environment and a place to connect with other widows, they also help raise awareness for those in need by connecting with local organizations such as churches, hospice, etc. Caring for widows in practical ways through auto repair, home care, financial planning, spiritual guidance, and more is an ongoing service provided by the charity.

Founded by Brenda Cannady, who found herself widowed in 2011, along with John Bowman, "Now What?" serves as a refuge and support for those facing the uncertainty of widowhood.

Capital Subaru of Greensboro has been nationally recognized for a strong dedication to their community and has notably received the Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment Award for 2018. Not only through their donations, but their involvement in areas such as Guilford County SPCA, Peeler Open Elementary School, Cone Health, and Now What? have achieved for them this honor.

During their Subaru Share the Love event, Subaru of America, Inc., will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased with the customer's choice of charity, which have included Meals on Wheels, Make-A-Wish, and National Parks Foundation. Additionally, a local retailer is selected to pair their contributions for a local charity with the Subaru of America's existing contributions. Their generosity generates a substantial amount of money, and this year, through Capital Subaru of Greensboro, "Now What?" is the appreciative recipient.

Capital Subaru of Greensboro to donate $42,000 to Group That Comforts Widows

GREENSBORO, N.C. /ScoopCloud/ -- Over the last nine years, Subaru of America, Inc. has donated more than $94 million to national and local charities across the United States through its annual Share the Love event. For the second year in a row, Capital Subaru of Greensboro, North Carolina selected NOW WHAT - A NETWORK FOR WIDOWS in Greensboro as its charity of choice.

As one of this year's hometown charity partners, NOW WHAT will revive a check for nearly $42,000 to help the organization raise awareness and hope for widows to rediscover their physical, mental, social and spiritual purpose.

During the annual Share the Love event, Subaru donates $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to a host of charitable partners, per the selection of each customer. This year, Capital Subaru upped the ante by setting aside an additional $100 per vehicle sold. Each Subaru retailer selects a hometown charity from their community to support, adding more than 660 local causes to the Share the Love campaign.

Subaru's donation is the largest single donation NOW WHAT has ever received from a corporation and Capital Subaru is the only corporate sponsor the organization to date has had. The check presentation will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at a catered dinner for 100 NOW WHAT members and the Capital Subaru staff at Capital Subaru, 801 E Bessemer Ave, Greensboro, N.C.

"Hundreds of widows come through our doors every year with many requiring a great deal of support in many areas," said John Bowman, one of the organization's founders. "NOW WHAT provides a way for widows and widowers to network with each other and find support and encouragement."

Bowman stressed that the Share the Love donation is exclusively earmarked for ongoing programs centered in the Greensboro area. "Every dollar from Subaru will go directly toward the support and encouragement of those feeling isolated and vulnerable through the loss of their spouse," he said.

"Subaru is proud to partner with NOW WHAT as part of the ninth annual Share the Love event," said Lex Depp, Jr., General Manager at Capital Subaru. "We are thrilled that this donation will help lift the spirits of good people in need of support in our local community."

"Most widows have no idea of how to purchase and/or take care of an automobile," said Depp. "Generally, that has never been their responsibility.
