Porter Ranch Gas Leak Victims to Meet Erin Brockovich, Weitz and Luxenberg, Dec. 9 in Porter Ranch, CA

Porter Ranch Gas Leak Causing Health Problems:

The gas leak occurred in an 8,500-foot well owned by Southern California Gas Co. The Los Angeles Times reported that the well is used to store natural gas treated with mercaptans, an agent that gives the odorless gas a smell like rotten eggs.

Attempts have been made to stop the leak but to date have failed. The Los Angeles Times reported that it could be as many as four months yet before the well is plugged.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the emissions from the Porter Ranch gas leak have also exposed the residents to methane.

The quantity of methane exposure has been significant. Authorities quoted by The Times estimate the Porter Ranch residents were exposed to the same amount of methane in just two months that is produced by 160,000 cars in an entire year. It is believed that residents are being exposed to other chemicals as well.

"The exposed residents have suffered headaches, dizziness, nosebleeds, stomach pain and respiratory problems," said Robin. L. A lawsuit against the gas company would seek monetary damages for the families as well as an injunction to remedy some of the immediate issues residents are experiencing, Greenwald said.

The lawsuit would, among other remedies, also seek to provide ongoing health monitoring of all the residents of the area, Greenwald said.

Washington Court House City Schools expects to save at least $81,500 annually through partnership with Energy Optimizers, USA

TIPP CITY, Ohio, Aug. 4, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Washington Court House City Schools has partnered with Energy Optimizers, USA, to launch an energy conservation project that will improve energy efficiency at all six of the district's buildings, generating an expected $81,500 in annual savings.

- Installation of variable frequency drives in classrooms to cut electricity waste;

Kettering City Schools achieves 15 percent higher savings than anticipated on energy management project

TIPP CITY, Ohio, July 29, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Just one year after Kettering City Schools partnered with Energy Optimizers, USA, on a project to improve energy efficiency across the district, the savings are coming in 15 percent higher than expected.

In June of 2014, the district wrapped up a project to improve overall energy usage at all of its buildings. The district expected to achieve $240,832 in utility savings annually, with a 10-year payback for the $2.4 million contract. By the end of June of 2015, however, the district achieved a savings of $317,862. The savings are normalized, or adjusted to account for outliers in weather conditions and costs.

Weitz and Luxenberg Exploring Southern California Oil Spill Victims’ Claims

LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 21, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Weitz & Luxenberg P.C., today announced it is investigating claims from members of the fishing industry, property owners and others harmed by an oil spill that began Tuesday and blighted the shoreline just north of Santa Barbara, California.

California Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency in response to the oil spill.

NBC News reported the spill dumped about 105,000 gallons from a break in a 2-foot-diameter pipeline that runs through the northern part of Santa Barbara County.

Oil from the pipeline rupture flowed to the beach where it then entered the water and created 9-miles of oil slick in the ocean, affecting 4 miles of beach, CNN said.

Santa Barbara Oil Spill Causing Harm:

According to news reports, popular beaches and campgrounds in the affected area were ordered evacuated, and officials said that some beaches would be closed for Memorial Day weekend.

Oak Hills Local Schools expects to save at least $373,000 annually through partnership with Energy Optimizers, USA

TIPP CITY, Ohio, March 31, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Oak Hills Local Schools partnered with Energy Optimizers, USA, to launch an ambitious $4 million energy conservation project, expected to generate at least $373,835 in savings annually. The savings will be recognized in the district's general fund on utility and related maintenance costs, assuming usage consumption and utility rates remain at current levels. The district will issue debt payments of approximately $330,000 over a 15-year period from their Permanent Improvement Fund to pay for the project.

The project, which includes a solar thermal system to heat the Oak Hills High School swimming pool, will improve the comfort, control and reliability of the district's HVAC and lighting systems while significantly reducing operational costs. In total, 11 buildings will be improved, including the district's central office and the bus garage.

Energy efficient measures will include:

* Controls commissioning, repairs, upgrades, integration and advanced energy management controls programming
* Installation of a solar thermal system to heat the swimming pool
* Installation of block heater controls for the bus terminals.

Projected energy savings are guaranteed for three years, and the dollars saved will be used for educational purposes.

U.S. Inventor Announces New Patent for Wind Turbine Industry
