Trotwood-Madison City Schools saves more than $260,000 after completing energy management project with Energy Optimizers, USA

TIPP CITY, Ohio /ScoopCloud/ -- Trotwood-Madison City Schools has saved more than $266,000 on its energy costs just one year after completing a sweeping energy management project with Energy Optimizers, USA.

For the period running from October 1, 2015, to September 1, 2016, the district saved $266,134 on its electric and natural gas usage, beating projections by nearly $79,500. The savings are normalized, or adjusted to account for outliers in weather conditions and utility rates.

Kettering City Schools achieves 15 percent higher savings than anticipated on energy management project

In June of 2014, the district wrapped up a project to improve overall energy usage at all of its buildings. The district expected to achieve $240,832 in utility savings annually, with a 10-year payback for the $2.4 million contract. By the end of June of 2015, however, the district achieved a savings of $317,862. The savings are normalized, or adjusted to account for outliers in weather conditions and costs.

Solar array project at Adams County Ohio Valley Schools nearing completion

LED lighting is valued for its efficiency and long life, which reduces both utility and maintenance costs. The new LED components will provide an average 60 percent reduction in energy use compared with the systems being replaced, which include fluorescent, halogen, incandescent and metal halide lighting systems. The advocacy trip is organized by Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), a nonpartisan community of business leaders who promote the business perspective on environmental issues. While in Washington, D.C., the delegates will:
