‘California Vaccine Fascism is Complete,’ says Dr. Harte

CORTE MADERA, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Dr. Don Harte, noted chiropractic activist and former Libertarian State Senate candidate, is disgusted, but not surprised, by the passage of SB266 and SB714, effectively ending medical exemptions for forced vaccination.

Dr. Harte says, "The ruling class in Sacramento see us as sheep. We are supposed to forget that the first bill proposed and passed by Dr./Sen. Pan and his Big Pharma-paid cronies was simply to 'educate' parents. He promised that he would never take away a parent's right to choose." He goes on: "And then Dr Pan did just that, he took away a parent's right to choose, or not, a risk-laden medical procedure, vaccination for their children, allowing only medical exemptions."

"The most obvious goal of authoritarianism is conformity... obedience." Dr. Harte observed, "Dr. Pan and his cronies didn't count on some medical doctors having the intelligence and courage to make their own clinical decisions, attempting to take appropriate action to protect children exhibiting previous vaccine damage, as well as other factors, necessitating vaccine exemption."

"As expected," Dr. Harte says, "these real doctors were vilified by corrupt politicians and a crooked press, as 'selling fraudulent' exemptions to drum up business." He goes on: "This is as if all the doctors who are willing to vaccinate every child, regardless of previous and expected damage from vaccines, make no money from visits for vaccines, and for vaccine reactions, that they deny are vaccine reactions. Is Big Pharma making no money on this? And Big Pharma's billions? Now they terrorize their own licensed medical doctors so they cannot even exempt a child that has already been vaccine-damaged."

"As dictators throughout history used fake crises, so did Dr. Pan and company," charges Dr. Harte. "They cite recent 'measles epidemics', 127 in 2014 and 67 in 2019, of what used to be considered a normal childhood disease. Not a big deal disease. Not even big deal numbers. And vaccinated children have gotten the disease, from the vaccine. The last verifiable death was in 2003. What crisis?"

"You want to know about a real health crisis?" asks Dr. Harte. "The health of children has declined, precipitously, since the introduction of dozens and dozens of mandated vaccinations. There is no debate or dispute ... vaccines contain neuro and immunotoxins, and the very process of vaccination perverts normal immune system function. It is no wonder that the real epidemics among children are autism, Type 1 diabetes, Crohn's disease, life-threatening allergies, asthma, Guillain-Barre Syndrome and a variety of emotional/psychological disorders... all great business sources for Medicine and Big Pharma."

"These two new California laws are not based upon science. This is not public service," declares Dr. Harte. "This is nothing but marketing, of the lowest, sleaziest order. Lowest," he says, "because the medical industry, bathing in its position of trust and adoration by society, is creating a false sense of danger, while pushing a vaccine that is questionable in its effectiveness, and is certain in its danger."

Dr. Harte advises: "The State is unconcerned with the health of your children. Vaccination, specifically, and so-called 'preventative medicine' is not the road to health. The medical 'geniuses" don't get that health is not the lack of disease. Want health? Eat well, rest, exercise, handle stress and keep your nervous system free of interference with regular wellness chiropractic care."

Dr. Harte finally warns, "This parade of despotic laws is not about public health. It is about control by the State, and financial advantage to Big Pharma, the pediatricians and the politicians that support these anti-liberty bills. Mark my words... the State of California will not stop with children. They will come after us adults next. The evidence? SR58. What medical procedure will be next to be mandated by the State?"

Dr. Harte proclaims: "It is time to speak up for health and for liberty. The minds and bodies of children are getting damaged, directly from a medical procedure, dictated by the State. This is clearly a civil rights issue. The decent, courageous people arrested at the Capital, in protest of SB276 and SB714, are no different than the decent, courageous people who marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr."

The Elisa Project Board of Directors Announce Name Change to Texas Eating Disorders Association

Annually TEDA has provided curriculum to more than 100 schools and thousands of school-aged students.

Anti-Psychotic Drug Reduction in Skilled Nursing Facilities Through Telepsychiatry

OMAHA, Neb. /ScoopCloud/ -- An Encounter Telehealth analysis of 40 skilled nursing facility partners in Iowa revealed a 6.7% reduction in the use of anti-psychotics. This reduction occurred after an average of 14 months of partnering with Encounter on psychiatric care. The national average was less than a 4% reduction during the same period.

The analysis shows the percentage of anti-psychotic drug use among facilities in 2015, prior to working with Encounter, and in 2018.

Of the 443 nursing homes in Iowa, the 40 facilities that Encounter Telehealth partners with have shown an average 6.7% reduction in the use of anti-psychotics between 2015 and 2018. Some facilities have shown substantial reductions, including one facility that went from 28.6% in 2015 to a low 7.3% in 2018. That is a 21.3% decrease in the usage of anti-psychotics, and nearly one half of the current national average. How Intermountain Healthcare Is Making Care More Affordable

"We have a crisis in American healthcare right now," Dr. Harrison said. "Healthcare is unaffordable. The existing healthcare system is oriented toward driving volume. As an industry we do too many things to too many people that they really don't need, which hurts them economically, and sometimes physically. But Intermountain has a great history of innovation and together we can drive change."

Dr. Harrison shared some alarming national statistics about the cost of healthcare:
* One in four people will forego medical care this year because it's too expensive.
* One in three Americans ration their prescription drugs because they can't afford them.
* About half of Americans worry an unexpected healthcare expense will bankrupt them.
* Healthcare expenses are the number one cause of bankruptcy in the United States.

Dr. Harrison says the statistics are better in Utah and Intermountain's charity care program is helping those who can't afford care, but he says more needs to be done. Last year, Intermountain provided more than $246 million in charity care to patients in need of financial assistance.

"We're doing a great job with the cost of healthcare and Intermountain is as competitive and cost-effective as any large system in the United States," he said. "But we have a long way to go and we're going to drive this forward together. How are we going to get there? By keeping people well, by providing the most accessible and affordable care, and by creating a sustainable model."

Examples of innovative solutions at Intermountain that are reducing costs and improving care, which Dr. Harrison shared with managers:

* Civica Rx, the not-for-profit generic drug company banded together by Intermountain and other healthcare systems and philanthropists to fight the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs by providing low-cost generic drugs to participating hospitals.
* Reimagined Primary Care, the team-based care model that focuses on preventive care to keep patients well. The model already has about 25,000 patient members enrolled and has seen impressive results, such as a 60 percent decrease in hospital admissions, 35 percent decrease in emergency department admissions, and a 20 percent decrease in per member per month costs.
* Addressing social determinants of health such as stable housing, food, transportation, and employment.
* Reducing opioid misuse. Intermountain has reduced the number of opioid tablets prescribed for acute care by more than 30 percent in the last year and is working hard to make further reductions.
* Integrating mental health care into clinics as part of each patient's primary care experience.
* Finding and implementing caregiver ideas. Intermountain caregivers implemented nearly 49,000 continuous improvement ideas in 2018 - more than 130 ideas each day. Many of these ideas both improved quality and reduced expenses.

"We didn't do these things for our self-aggrandizement," Dr. Harrison said. "We did them for our neighbors. And we're in just the right position to continue to be an innovator."

Dr. Harrison added that although helping people stay well and out of the hospital is a key part of Intermountain's strategy moving forward, that doesn't mean we won't continue to provide the best possible hospital care when our patients need it.

"We'll still focus on helping people when they're in a car accident, have a heart attack, or get cancer," he added. "But we have the opportunity to do that in conjunction with a 'keep people well' system. We're still going to have great trauma programs, great heart surgery programs, great cancer care programs, and great neuro ICUs, but won't it be terrific if we can actually keep people out of some of those places? And have them stay as close to home as possible in the least restrictive environment?"

Dr. Harrison emphasized that Intermountain is making changes from a position of strength.

"Intermountain, in a really tough environment, is really doing well. Our quality and safety have never been better. Our patient experience is on the rise. At a time when a lot of other health systems are struggling economically, we're strong. But we need to continually innovate and change to remain a model healthcare system. If not us, who? If not now, when?"

Other things Intermountain and SelectHealth (Intermountain's insurance arm) are doing to reduce costs and return money to its patients and members:

• Lower annual rate increases. Intermountain reduced annual price increases in 2019 by $15 million.
• Lower-cost care settings. Intermountain is reducing unnecessary ER visits by increasing access to appropriate care in lower-cost settings such as InstaCares (urgent care clinics), physician offices, and Connect Care virtual visits.
• Lower individual premiums. SelectHealth reduced individual plan premiums by an average of 2.7 percent in 2019.
• Affordable SelectHealth Share premiums. Intermountain guarantees a premium rate increase for new clients of SelectHealth Share of only 2.5 percent in years two and three of their three-year contract. For current clients, the guaranteed premium rate increase is only 2 percent for all three years. This compares to an industry-wide premium increase of more than 5 percent.
• Stork Savers. Intermountain's Stork Savers program offers a lower-cost cash price to patients without health insurance for mom and baby care associated with uncomplicated births.
• Supply initiatives. Intermountain has a set ratio between what it pays and what it charges patients for supplies and drugs. When Intermountain reduces its costs, it can directly lower charges to patients for those items. Intermountain negotiated better prices on supplies in 2018 that resulted in more than $32 million in cost savings.
• Financial assistance. Intermountain expanded its financial assistance program to cover needed health services for families with income levels up to 200 percent of the national poverty level. The 2019 national poverty level for a family of four is $25,750.

Once retired, they moved to San Antonio, and eventually spent their final years together in an Army Residence Community.

"My grandmother had such a zest for life and was such a dedicated caregiver," Terri adds. "But she also knew how to take time to care for herself. You could always find her swimming at the beach, and she just loved to travel from San Antonio to Padre Island. She was also an avid oil painter and even did a mural in her home of Padre Island. The Teri in question is Teri Showalter, a long-standing member of the Aventine Hill Communities team. Her grandmother, June Eileen Smith, was one of the most inspirational women in her life. "My grandmother June was a wife, mother, artist, and all around compassionate individual," said Terri. "When it comes to caring for her family, she would go that extra mile." June was born on June 19, 1913 and when she was in her teens she was the caregiver for her great aunt after her mother died of the flu. During this time she met her husband, Miles Anthony Connor and the were married in 1934 at the tender age of 21.

June's husband Miles was an officer in the United States Air Force and they had four children: Miles, Martha, Michael, and Marilyn. During his time in the Air Force, the family traveled the world as he was stationed overseas and domestically. Miles retired in 1966 after serving for over 24 years as a colonel. Once retired, they moved to San Antonio, and eventually spent their final years together in an Army Residence Community.

"My grandmother had such a zest for life and was such a dedicated caregiver," Terri adds. "But she also knew how to take time to care for herself. You could always find her swimming at the beach, and she just loved to travel from San Antonio to Padre Island. She was also an avid oil painter and even did a mural in her home of Padre Island. She wanted to share her art with everyone and loved to participate in the Starving Artist Shows on the Riverwalk."

To honor the late Mrs. Smith, Aventine Hill Communities will be adding her lineage of traditions to the community at The June.

"To ensure that June's memory is served well, we are adding treasured pieces of her artwork throughout the community in addition to incorporating her own recipes to our scheduled menus," said Janco. The collaboration will facilitate primary care providers and dentists working more closely together to improve overall wellness and prevent disease in communities throughout Utah.

The two organizations will integrate dental and medical care for children from 14 locations in Salt Lake County, Tooele, Park City, Bountiful, and Utah County. Intermountain Medical Group pediatricians and family medicine caregivers will work closely with Burg's 18 dentists to coordinate care and make it more convenient for families to get all of the care their children need in an integrated and convenient manner.

"Intermountain Healthcare's integrated primary care model already includes physical and mental care, and adding dental care will help us increase our focus on the whole health of each person we serve," said Dave Henriksen, operations officer for Intermountain Medical Group.

Certain diseases and medications may affect dental health, and dental decay, infection, and inflammation can adversely affect overall health. Recent research has found that poor oral health may be connected with several chronic illnesses and diseases, including heart diease, diabetes, and respiratory disease, among others. A recent study of more than 700 people by researchers at the University of Helsinki, published in JAMA last April, found that people who exerperienced oral infections in childhood were were likely to at risk for heart disease and stroke.

Burg Children's Dentistry's first location opened in 2002 in Murray, Utah, by founder and president Jeff Burg, DDS, MBA. Since that time, the group has grown to be the largest pediatric dental practice in Utah.
