ADU Builder in Tampa Bay: Craftline Remodeling Brings Architects, Engineers, and Designers In-House as New Florida Law Drives Demand

As Florida's SB 184 opens accessory dwelling units across Tampa and St. Petersburg, Craftline Remodeling keeps design, architecture, engineering, permitting, and construction on one accountable team - with transparent, fixed-price proposals and on-schedule delivery

TAMPA, Fla., July 10, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Homeowners searching for an ADU builder in Tampa or St. Petersburg have a new reason to act and a full-service option in Craftline Remodeling, a licensed Florida design-build contractor (CBC1269114) that handles accessory dwelling units and garage conversions entirely in-house.

Under Florida Senate Bill 184, which amended Florida Statute 163.31771 effective July 1, 2025, local governments are now required to allow accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on single-family residential lots, with additional legislation (SB 48) under consideration in the 2026 session. The change has made backyard cottages, attached suites, and garage conversions attainable for thousands of Tampa Bay homeowners.

WHAT SETS CRAFTLINE APART FOR ADU PROJECTS:

  • In-house architect, engineer, and designer. Craftline keeps design, architecture, and engineering on one team — no subcontracted handoffs so the permit-ready drawings reflect a buildable, code-compliant, compatible design.
  • One accountable team, concept to certificate of occupancy. Design, material sourcing, permitting, and construction are managed under one roof.
  • Transparent, fixed-price proposals. Homeowners receive a clear, detailed project proposal with no hidden costs. On-schedule delivery. Projects are managed to clear timelines.
  • Local permitting expertise. Craftline handles zoning review, setbacks, lot-eligibility verification, and utility connections for St. Petersburg, the City of Tampa, and Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties including St. Petersburg’s architectural-compatibility standard.
  • Licensed and proven. A fully licensed and insured Florida certified building contractor (CBC1269114) with 100 plus verified five-star Google reviews and membership in NKBA, NARI Tampa Bay, NAHB, and TBBA.

WHY THE IN-HOUSE MODEL MATTERS NOW

St. Petersburg runs one of the region’s most ADU-friendly programs the majority of single-family lots qualify, with ADUs generally allowed up to about 800 square feet but requires each ADU to be architecturally compatible with the main home. The City of Tampa allows ADUs up to roughly 950 square feet in eligible zones, and Hillsborough County permits them under the state framework. Meeting those standards is far more reliable when architecture, engineering, and construction sit on the same team than when a homeowner coordinates separate vendors.

“An ADU comes down to whether the design that gets drawn is the design that actually gets approved and built,” said the team at Craftline Remodeling. “Because our architect, engineer, and designer work in-house alongside our permitting and construction teams, we give homeowners a fixed-price proposal, a clear timeline, and one team accountable from the first concept to the final inspection.”

Craftline builds detached ADUs, attached suites, and garage conversions across St. Petersburg, Seminole, Seminole Heights, South Tampa, Carrollwood, Clearwater, and Wesley Chapel. Homeowners can verify their parcel’s eligibility with their city or county and request a complimentary ADU design consultation at https://craftlineremodeling.com/adu-builder-tampa-bay/.

Smile Paint founder and CEO Stacey Moore Thomas, a special-needs advocate, witnessed through her Tampa-based pediatric speech and language therapy company, Jabber Jaw Kids, LLC, how toothbrushing can become a daily challenge – especially for special needs children with oral sensitivities or taste aversions.

TSS USA Now Offers CommScope Uniprise System Warranties on Commercial Cabling Projects in Tampa Bay

Pinellas Park low-voltage contractor can now offer CommScope-backed system warranties on commercial structured cabling installations

PINELLAS PARK, Fla., April 20, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — TSS USA, a licensed low-voltage contractor based in Pinellas Park, Florida, announced that members of its installation team have completed CommScope’s Authorized Connectivity Training (ACT) and earned Uniprise Certified Installer credentials. The certifications qualify TSS USA to install CommScope Uniprise structured cabling systems and issue manufacturer-backed warranties on completed commercial projects throughout the Tampa Bay area.

TSS USA
Image caption: TSS USA.

CommScope’s ACT program trains technicians on Uniprise copper and fiber installation against ANSI/TIA cabling standards. Completing the program requires coursework in termination, transmission fundamentals, and field certification of installed cabling systems. Technicians who pass are registered in CommScope’s qualified installer database, and their employer can then back projects with a Uniprise system warranty covering the full horizontal infrastructure.

WHAT A UNIPRISE SYSTEM WARRANTY COVERS

Most cabling warranties cover components only. A Uniprise system warranty covers the finished installation as one documented unit, including patch panels, cable runs, outlets, and all interconnects, for up to 20 years. Issuing that warranty requires both spec-compliant product and a CommScope-registered technician on the job.

“Having certified installers on staff means TSS USA can offer a warranty option most area contractors are not qualified to provide,” said Jonathan Flanagan, Service Manager at TSS USA. “The warranty is backed by CommScope directly. Our customers in healthcare, property management, and office construction are the ones who benefit from that.”

TSS USA installs structured cabling (https://tssusa.net/structured-cabling/) in commercial buildings across Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and surrounding areas in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, and Sarasota counties.

‘My Ripple Effect’ Inspires Everyday Heroes: New Faith Film Starring Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo and Eddie McClintock Premieres April 1

TAMPA, Fla., March 27, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — What if the smallest act of kindness could change the world? That’s the question at the heart of “My Ripple Effect,” a bold new faith and family film from JC Films and Joshuacord – hitting screens this week and starring fan favorites Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo, Eddie McClintock and Michael Sigler.

"My Ripple Effect" poster.
Image Caption: “My Ripple Effect” poster.

“My Ripple Effect” follows a recently divorced dad (Dean Cain) who encounters a mysterious man named Raphael (Kevin Sorbo) at an abandoned church, and discovers his life has far more meaning than he ever imagined. Together with his best friend (Eddie McClintock), he embarks on a journey that reveals how ordinary people and everyday moments can create long‑lasting, generational impact.

This isn’t just a movie about characters on a screen. It’s a story about all of us – parents, students, pastors and neighbors – who wonder if our small efforts really make a difference, and what God can do with one obedient “yes.” By the end of this story, viewers will question not just ‘What if?’ but, ‘What if God uses this moment to change my world?’”

The film is the product of a unique partnership between Jason Campbell, writer, director and executive producer at JC Films, and Patrick Carberry, founder of Joshuacord, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and support for persecuted Christians around the world.

“My Ripple Effect” follows ordinary people whose everyday choices set off extraordinary waves of change – a timely reminder that no act of faith, courage or compassion is ever wasted.

For Carberry, the message is personal.

“We all impact each other for good or for evil,” he says. “This film is an invitation. Your prayers, your voice and your giving are ripples that reach people you may never meet, especially our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world, reminding them that they are seen, known, and deeply loved.”

JC Films and Joshuacord
Image caption: JC Films and Joshuacord.

Carberry founded Joshuacord 15 years ago to shine a light on the ongoing persecution of Christians globally. The organization’s previous film, “Christians in the Mirror” (2019), featured on-the-ground interviews with persecuted believers and religious leaders in Syria, India, Iraq, South Sudan and Egypt.

“We want our Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East, Asia and Africa to know they are not alone,” says Paul Jallo, president of Jallo Oil and senior vice president of Joshuacord, who also serves as Executive Producer of the film alongside Campbell. “God has given me more than I deserve, and I want to pay it forward with ‘My Ripple Effect.’”

The film’s message echoes the famous words often attributed to Irish statesman Edmund Burke: “Evil prevails when good men do nothing.” Campbell and Carberry see this as a call to purpose. They believe audiences are ready to move beyond watching from the sidelines and begin responding with prayer, conversation and faithful steps that create real change, one ripple at a time.

“My Ripple Effect” will be available on The Trinity Broadcasting Network, YouTube’s Christian Movies channel and major streaming platforms including Amazon and Hulu.

National Radon Awareness Week is January 26-30: Pillar To Post Home Inspectors Share Important Information

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 19, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Here is a shocking fact. The second leading cause of lung cancer is Radon, says Pillar To Post Home Inspectors. In the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) [*1] estimates that about 21,000 lung cancer deaths each year are radon related and in Canada that number stands at approximately 3,000.

Radon Mitigation Image - Pillar To Post Home Inspectors
Image caption: Radon Mitigation Image – Pillar To Post Home Inspectors.

Radon, a dangerous gas, is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and radioactive. It is formed by the breakdown of uranium, a natural radioactive material found in soil, rock, and groundwater.

According to the EPA, 1 out of every 15 homes in the United States and Canada is estimated to have an elevated radon level. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up. Any home may have a radon problem – this means new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements since this secret killer comes from the ground not from construction materials.

HOW RADON CAN GET INTO YOUR HOME

  • Cracks in Solid Floors
  • Construction Joints
  • Cracks in Walls
  • Gaps in Suspended Floors
  • Gaps Around Service Pipes
  • Cavities Inside Walls
  • The Water Supply

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW & DO

  • According to the U.S. Department of Urban Development (HUD), Radon is measured in picoCuries per liter of air (pCi/L). Radon levels inside houses below 4 pCi/L are considered acceptable. If your home has radon levels above 4 pCi/L, you should act.
  • Radon testing will always be a service that a home buyer would need to request separately from a home inspection company.
  • A 48-hour test conducted by a home inspection professional will always be more accurate. If a home is found to have elevated levels, seal the foundation and all access points such as plumbing, small cracks and mortar joints with crack sealants.
  • Mechanical ventilation will be the next step. An HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilation) system will introduce exterior air into the building envelope and pressurize it.
  • Cover the earth floor in crawl spaces with a high-density plastic sheet. A vent pipe and fan can be used to blow the radon from under the sheet and vent it to the outdoors.
  • The EPA suggests radon testing every two years.
  • Certain geographic areas are more prone than others. Mountainous and/or rocky areas have the highest concentrations. Older homes with a brick or stone foundation are suspectable to radon.

HOW YOU CAN TEST FOR RADON

Radon testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk. Pillar To Post™ Home Inspectors conduct a short-term test using a continuous monitor to provide a snapshot of the home to see if it has elevated levels of Radon. Testing takes 2-3 days and results are provided and interpreted, and the report is sent directly to the client. Recommendations will then be made for a mitigation system. Even owners of condominiums, houses built on slabs, and other situations need to check on the air quality and the presence of Radon in their living quarters.

Visit https://pillartopost.com/radon/ for tools & resources, as well as how to contact your local home inspector.

Pure Polymer Solutions Employee Runs Critical Supplies to Hurricane Victims in Pinellas

TAMPA BAY, Fla., Oct. 16, 2024 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — As Hurricane Helene & Milton wreaked havoc across Florida’s Gulf Coast, employees at Pure Polymer Solutions (PPS) took extraordinary action. Nick Strazzulla, a lead water treatment specialist at PPS, requested special permission from the company’s founder, Bob Davis, to use a company boat to deliver emergency supplies and assist in rescue operations in some of the hardest-hit areas, including St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Barrier Island, and Boca Ciega.

Nick Strazzulla delivering emergency supplies by boat in Tampa Bay
Image caption: Nick Strazzulla delivering emergency supplies by boat in Tampa Bay.

With permission granted and the company supplying fuel, Nick and team spent their time tirelessly volunteering to help neighbors and Pinellas community members in need. Accompanied by two medically trained volunteers – EMT and Marine Haley Crippen, and Army Veteran Trisha Perez – Nick ran multiple rescue missions, providing much-needed aid to residents trapped by floodwaters.

Among the many people Nick and his team assisted was Joe Mestas, who was in urgent need of heart medication before an upcoming surgery. Joe had left Barrier Island to check on his sister’s dog, Taffy, and found himself unable to return home due to impassable roads. Nick’s quick action ensured that Joe received his medication, allowing him to proceed with his surgery.

In addition to delivering essential supplies like food, water, and fuel, Nick and his team performed wellness checks on dozens of stranded residents. They responded to distress signals from an online resource called “Need Rescue Pinellas,” which listed individuals who were trapped, some on their roofs. On one of the missions, Nick and team transported a stranded individual to the hospital.

“When I heard about the storm’s impact, I knew I had to do something,” said Nick. “It wasn’t a part of my job description, but these were my neighbors, my community, and they needed help.”

Nick’s dedication didn’t go unnoticed, though he has remained humble about his efforts. “Nick came to me with the idea; it wasn’t something we asked of him. He wanted to help, and we were more than happy to support him,” said Bob Davis, founder of Pure Polymer Solutions. “But if you ask Nick, he’ll say he didn’t do anything special.”

PPS CEO Mitchell Stocki commended Nick and the team, stating, “It’s actions like these that make our Greater Tampa Bay community great. We’re proud of Nick and the selflessness he displayed, even though he seeks no recognition.”

Nick’s selfless efforts, alongside Haley Crippen and Trisha Perez, are a testament to the spirit of the Tampa Bay community and the company values of Pure Polymer Solutions. The team worked around the clock, saving lives, delivering supplies, and offering hope to those in desperate need.

Pure Polymer Solutions is honored to have employees like Nick who embody the company’s commitment to community, integrity, and service.

Tampa Bay Area Pediatricians Urge Parents to Act Now for Back-to-School Readiness

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- Doctor Bou Pediatrics Inc today urged parents to immediately schedule school health examinations for their children as the August 12 school start date approaches in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Manatee counties. The Florida Department of Health requires all students entering Florida schools for the first time to present a school entry health exam completed within the last year. This requirement applies to children in prekindergarten through 12th grade.

Sal H. Bou, chief operating officer of Dr. Bou Pediatrics, emphasizes the necessity of strategic scheduling: "Despite October traditionally being our busiest month due to flu season, the August rush requires special planning to ensure we have the capacity to meet everyone's needs. This is why we particularly urge families to book their appointments early, ensuring all necessary health requirements are met before the school year commences."

According to reports from WUSF and KFF Health News, nearly 600,000 children in Florida have lost Medicaid coverage in the past year due to policy changes. This loss of coverage may create additional challenges for families trying to schedule required school physicals and vaccinations, further increasing the risk of delayed school entry if not addressed promptly.

Key age groups often requiring updated vaccinations or school forms include children ages 4-5 entering VPK or Kindergarten, ages 11-12 entering middle school, and ages 15-16 in high school. Parents should consult the Florida Department of Health's website for detailed immunization schedules by age. Parents should consult the Florida Department of Health's website for detailed immunization schedules by age.

To ensure your child is ready for the upcoming school year and can start on time, take these steps immediately: Schedule your child's school physical examination. Check with your pediatrician about required vaccinations for your child's age group. If you've recently lost Medicaid coverage, inquire about self-pay options to cover necessary school physicals and vaccinations. Obtain and complete necessary school health forms in advance of your appointment.

For more information about school entry health requirements, visit the Florida Department of Health's website or contact your local pediatrician.

Tampa-Based Human Rights Activist Helps Protect Youth from Human Trafficking

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month and Florida is the third-busiest hub for child sex trafficking in the United States. Tampa-based activist Christopher King, United for Human Rights Florida Executive Director and Founder of the nonprofit The Gentlemen's Course, works to protect youth from being trafficked. How he came to take on this mission is documented in an episode of Voices for Humanity on the Scientology Network.

"Human trafficking is real," says King. "We're talking about kids being sold, traded - against their own will. No one should be a slave, and no one has the right to enslave anyone. Human traffickers - they're in the schools, they're on social media. They're getting the kids on their platform. So, we might as well attack them on the same ground."

King, a fashion designer, U.S. Marine veteran and the grandson of blues legend BB King, founded the nonprofit The Gentlemen's Course after learning about Youth for Human Rights, the youth component of United for Human Rights.

The Gentlemen's Course teaches etiquette, human rights and human trafficking awareness to at-risk youth: How youth are lured into trafficking by promises of gifts, often by kids their own age. King uses the human rights education materials of Youth for Human Rights to help kids examine their attitudes toward others and build self-respect. He inspires them to create future goals and provides them with tools to achieve them.

Youth for Human Rights International materials help people of all ages understand the 30 rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Creating a world where human rights are known and protected starts with effective educational programs that reach across all cultural and geographic boundaries.

Inspired by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard's words that "Human rights must be made a fact, not an idealistic dream," the Church of Scientology and Scientologists support Youth for Human Rights and make its educational materials available free of charge.

Voices for Humanity is an original series featuring change-makers of all faiths, cultures, and nations as they extend help to their communities through Scientology-sponsored humanitarian programs.

Since launching with a special episode featuring Scientology ecclesiastical leader Mr. David Miscavige, Scientology Network has been viewed in 240 countries and territories worldwide in 17 languages. Broadcast from Scientology Media Productions, the Church's global media center in Los Angeles, the Scientology Network is available on DIRECTV Channel 320 and can be streamed on Scientology.tv, mobile apps and via the Roku, Amazon Fire and Apple TV platforms.

New SF Book Offers Fictional Window into The Intersection of Science and Traumatic Events

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- The recently-released "TRAUMERGY" (ISBN: 978-1633572874) by Patrick R. Carberry, published by New Harbor Press, is a science fiction thriller that's as compelling as it is provoking. The author invites readers to join him on a captivating journey where he delves into what he calls TRAUMERGY - also known as traumatic energy.

This Sci-Fi mystery work urges readers to think outside the box. Consider this. What if traumatic events were stored in the brain as traumatic memories and could be viewed with new technology? That's just what Carberry addresses in this page-turning read.

At the heart of the story is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Professor Peter Morley. He's a retired FBI Intelligence Officer and Christian man who becomes a neutrino physicist at Cambridge, MA's MIT. While there, he starts to use this new traumergy technology which displays stored traumatic events via holograms.

How does it work? When a high level of trauma is experienced during a traumatic event, an energy is emitted, similar to waves of light that travel through space unseen by the human eye. These energy forms have existed for some time and while working on a new physics apparatus called a neutrino detector, Morley identifies an anomaly. Up to this point, no one has been able to understand how neutrinos interact with humans. They can be detected, but then they disappear. Morley has found a way to "tap" into these trauma energy events.

While, working on a prototype of traumergy, he identifies a conspiracy: The leaders of a company plan to go public after there's a murder and stolen technology from MIT. Morley works to find the truth using traumergy and identifies a timeline which first started in 33AD.

"TRAUMERGY" is available on Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Indigo, Book Depository, Booktopia, wherever books are sold.

Tampa Bay Foot And Ankle Provider Promotes Conservative Options

LARGO, Fla /ScoopCloud/ -- A new podiatrist is making waves at Modern Foot & Ankle. Patrick Derby, DPM, joined the Central Florida podiatric group recently, invigorating the Tampa, Westchase, and Largo clinics with his surgical dexterity, expansive knowledge of conservative therapies-and love of surfing.

"Tampa Bay is fantastic," enthused Dr. Derby. "There is no shortage of activities to participate in, it's near the water - which is a big pull for me as a Florida native-and the opportunities to provide healthcare are abundant and exciting."

He added that the Tampa Bay community is friendly and diverse, making it an inviting area to work in as a provider.

"My goal is to be a resource for my patients, to educate them to prevent as much pathology as possible while building relationships and trust within the community," said Dr. Derby. "I always strive to approach pathology conservatively before considering surgical interventions whenever possible."

Before joining Modern Foot & Ankle, Dr. Derby completed his surgical residency in Michigan, where he was trained in treating a range of pathologies at varying degrees of severity. He focused on reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, diabetic wound care, and minimally-invasive bunion correction.

"My approach as a physician aligns with the philosophy and approach of the practice: patient-focused and centering on conservative treatment whenever possible before considering surgical options," said Dr. Derby. "The technology-based approach also streamlines patient care and affords many resources which really appeals to me as a physician."

Modern Foot & Ankle clinics feature advanced in-house diagnostic equipment, easy online booking and check-in, and evening hours. There are currently thirteen locations within Orlando and Tampa, making it a convenient choice for many of those suffering from foot and ankle conditions.

"That, combined with the ease in which appointments can be booked or rescheduled as well as a host of resources available to patients, makes it a unique and positive experience overall for patients."

Since September, Dr. Derby has been busy ingratiating himself with the community and his patient base. Through Modern Foot & Ankle, he continues to take on new challenges daily.

"One of the things that keeps me excited in podiatry is the variability day to day," he explained. "Whether it's routine office work, trauma, inpatient medicine, surgery, or other aspects of the profession, every day is fresh and exhilarating."

New Tampa Bay Podiatrist Offers Early Morning and Evening Availability

WESTCHASE, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- Early birds and night owls rejoice: a new Tampa Bay podiatrist is setting the bar on convenience with extended clinic hours. Sagar Shah, DPM, recently helped launch the opening of a new location for Modern Foot & Ankle at 10954 Sheldon Rd. in Westchase. This marked the Central Florida group's seventh clinic opening in five years.

"Modern Foot & Ankle has an excellent reputation for providing premier care to their patients while utilizing advances in medicine and research," said Dr. Shah. "I knew I wanted to be with a group that uses a patient-centric approach."

Part of that approach incorporates increased availability. The Westchase clinic features appointment times as early as 7:30 a.m. and as late as 7 p.m. on certain days.

"Having additional hours helps patients and families receive care without needing to take time off of work or have kids leave school early," explained Dr. Shah.

Both an accomplished board-certified surgeon and a proponent of holistic medicine, Dr. Shah bases his care on continuing education and patient comfort. He says that an essential component of his treatment plan is talking with patients and listening to their needs.

"This allows me to develop a conservative or surgical plan that is best-suited for the patient," he added.

Dr. Shah's experience also includes outreach programs. He has provided his surgical skills to The Yucatán Crippled Children's Project in Mexico, through which he corrected podiatric deformities for children in need.

"Seeing the hope in patients' faces and knowing that I can make a difference in their health-it's a challenge that I welcome and a gratifying experience," he said.

Now, Dr. Shah says his research-based, patient-first approach is a good fit for the Westchase community.

"This area in particular creates an exciting opportunity as a practitioner," he said. "Seeing the abundance of activities available makes me want to provide the best care possible to keep patients moving and active."

After several years in private practice in Virginia, Dr. Shah reflected, relocating to Florida was bittersweet. But, he added, the move to Westchase was a long-awaited homecoming.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Virginia and the patient relationships I was able to build," he said. "But I was raised in the Tampa Bay area, and moving closer to my family and friends was appealing to me."

Church of Scientology Tampa Brings the Best of Today and the Past Together Under One Roof

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- Dedicated March 13, 2011, in honor of the birthday of Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard, the home of the Church of Scientology Tampa is a complex known as Ybor Square. More than a treasured cultural landmark, the building evokes an entire way of life.

As in many communities, the Church of Scientology of Tampa is housed in one of the city's most iconic buildings. Ybor Square is a National Historic Landmark, built in Ybor City, now a neighborhood in Tampa, in the late 1880s by city father Vincente Ybor. It was once the largest cigar factory in the world.

The Church holds the building in trust for the entire community, contributing to the pride and sense of continuity of Cuban-Americans.

Scientology ecclesiastical leader Mr. David Miscavige dedicated the 88,000-square-foot Church, located just a half-hour from Clearwater. How One Man is Helping Youth Avoid the Tragedy of Human Trafficking

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month and the Scientology Network invites viewers to watch an episode of "Voices for Humanity" featuring a Tampa Bay Area entrepreneur who is dedicated to saving kids from modern-day slavery.

The U.S. Department of Justice estimates that 200,000 American children are at risk of being trafficked into the sex industry each year,

King learned of Youth for Human Rights International on a visit to the United for Human Rights headquarters in Clearwater, Florida. "That gave me a guide on how to educate youth. At that point, I founded The Gentlemen's Course."

King and his team bring his programs right to the kids.

"Human traffickers, they're in the schools. They're on social media. They're getting the kids on their platforms," says King. "So we might as well attack them on the same ground. If people knew their rights, they would know what to defend. That is the purpose. That's our goal."

On behalf of the C Diff Foundation, Sahil Khanna, M.B.B.S, M.S. proudly presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dale Gerding, MD, MACP, FIDSA, FSHEA for his outstanding vision, dedication, and commitment and for the advancement of Clostridioides difficile research, development, and care through the years. The Dale Gerding Lifetime Achievement award will be presented annually during the C Diff Foundation's November conference to a healthcare professional meeting the criteria, nominated by peers, and awarded by Dr. Gerding himself.

The C Diff Foundation "Making a Difference: Innovations in Infection Prevention" 2021 award was presented to PhoneSoap acknowledging their exceptional organization who is making a difference in the Infection Prevention community, with their innovative products, services, and technologies.

The award was accepted by Wes LaPorte, CEO of PhoneSoap. "PhoneSoap's mission has always been to limit the spread of infectious diseases through science and technology. We are honored to accept the Innovations in Infection Prevention award of 2021 from the C Diff Foundation given their very important endeavor to bring awareness, education, and advocacy globally," stated LaPorte.

According to the 2017 Update (published February 2018) of the Clinical Practice Guidelines for C. difficile Infection by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and Society or Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), CDI remains a significant medical problem in hospitals, in long-term care facilities and in the community. C. difficile is one of the most common causes of health care- associated infections in U.S. hospitals (Lessa, et al, 2015, New England Journal of Medicine). Recent estimates suggest C. difficile approaches 500,000 infections annually in the U.S. and is associated with approximately 20,000 deaths annually. (Guh, 2020, New England Journal of Medicine).

Based on internal estimates, the recurrence rate of two of the three antibiotics currently used to treat CDI is between 20% and 40% among approximately 150,000 patients treated. We believe the annual incidence of CDI in the U.S. approaches 600,000 infections and has a mortality rate of approximately 9.3%.

The C Diff Foundation expresses their gratitude to all the Sponsors and Keynote speakers for their generous support of the 9th Annual International C. diff. Conference and Health EXPO. Together we deliver superior educational up-to-date data, advance the healthcare professional knowledge and understanding of the topics discussed, and serve as the leading organization educating and advocating for C. difficile infection prevention, treatments, clinical trial, diagnostics, support, and environmental safety worldwide. We are grateful to be the leading resource for patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

Many US Governors have signed a state proclamation proclaiming November 2021 as Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile, C. diff.) Infection Awareness Month.

"Our shared goal is to witness a significant increase in C. difficile awareness, with a noted reduction in C. difficile infections worldwide by the year 2025. We would also like to thank Seres Therapeutics, Rebiotix, a Ferring Company, and Ferring Pharmaceuticals for their efforts and support with this endeavor," stated Nancy C. Caralla, Executive Director of the C Diff Foundation.

Amazon Prime Removes Indie Film About Global Persecution of Christians

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- For nearly two years, the indie documentary, "Christians in the Mirror," produced by Joshuacord, Inc. and In Altum Productions, streamed on Amazon Prime before it was removed without warning or explanation. Its producers want to know why.

"Christians in the Mirror" examines the plight of persecuted Christians throughout the world and includes interviews with religious leaders and persecuted Christian families in Syria, India, Iraq, South Sudan, and Egypt. The goal of the film is to educate Americans about the widespread persecution of Christians in other parts of the globe and to motivate Christians blessed with religious freedom in the West to provide aid to those suffering for their faith.

On March 9, 2021, the producers of the documentary independently discovered that the film was no longer available on Amazon's streaming service. Only after reaching out to Amazon for clarifying information did the producers learn that Amazon had unilaterally removed the documentary, but Amazon gave no reason for the removal. The producers followed-up for an explanation, requesting analytics and specific details to outline the reasons for the film's removal, but the information Amazon provided was vague and lacked validity.

Amazon's unexplainable decision invoked feelings of confusion and frustration for Patrick Carberry, the film's co-executive producer and Joshuacord founder. And, apparently, he's not alone.

According to a new Consumer Reports' survey, roughly three out of four Americans worry about the power wielded by today's biggest tech platforms. Top concerns include biased search results, unfair pricing and misinformation.

"My primary concern has to do with potential bias," Carberry says. "I just don't understand why the film was fine for nearly two years, and then it wasn't. What changed? Why? I have many unanswered questions. Something just doesn't feel right."

Carberry adds that the main mission of the film is to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves and to question why there's silence and a lack of support from many affluent churches around America. It's the hope of the film's executive team to activate Christians across America to stand united to help those persecuted for their faith and to prompt people to take action to support religious freedom.

The film averaged about 15,000 to 20,000 streams per quarter and Carberry said that sounded pretty good to him. He adds that it's not his desire to shine any bad will on the tech giant. He simply wants to have the film re-listed so it can continue to inform and educate those who are willing to listen and wanting to help.

"Amazon is a mega power when it comes to helping the little guy get the word out and I feel as if we've been slapped in the face for no reason. There was no real discussion about why or what could be changed," Carberry says. "They are Goliath and we are not even David. Behemoth big tech businesses such as Amazon Prime Video should be making it easier for independent producers to get the message out, not more difficult. We're imploring them to reconsider making our video available again and welcome a discussion. That is all we are really asking for."

While More and More Tampa Bay-Based Organizations Focus On Mental Health and Wellness, GTE Financial Has Been On Board For Years

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- GTE Financial recognizes Mental Health Awareness Month by celebrating the importance of access to mental health services. Mental Health has been an important topic for GTE Financial for several years and during the pandemic, this important initiative proved to be an essential benefit.

GTE Financial made the decision to invest in their team members by investing in programs that focus on mental health and wellness. Understanding the importance of maintaining an equal work-life balance was a driving factor in creating programs to ensure GTE team members were supported through difficult times. They have unlimited access to services to aid in their mental health struggles.

Through additional initiatives like, "GTE LiveWell," a five-pillar approach to health, GTE has committed to fostering a culture that celebrates differences and understands the real struggles people face in both their personal and professional lives. These benefits have not gone unnoticed. Shakira B, a team member at GTE Financial says, "Having this benefit gives me the peace of mind that no matter what happens in our personal and work lives, we have someone to go to and can trust that it is also confidential."

Rene' McKenna SHRM-CP, AVP of Talent Management said, "We don't just check off a box. We have a commitment to educate, support, and empower team members to make healthy lifestyle choices. Mental Health falls under 'Mind,' one of our five pillars within our GTE LiveWell initiative. It is imperative that we as an organization support our team members with every aspect of health and wellness and mental health is just as important as financial health."

GTE LiveWell focuses on five pillars of success - financial, mind, active, nutrition, and know-how. Know-how, one of the most important pillars, focuses on educating GTE team members so they know and understand all the great resources available to them and their families through their employment with GTE Financial. One such program that GTE offers is a wellness reimbursement plan that offers $30 a month to employees which can be put towards an activity of their choosing - these activities can include a gym membership, art therapy, massage, cooperative gardening, and much more.

GTE Financial has found that companies who raise awareness and actively implement programs centered around mental health are more likely to reduce absenteeism and increase productivity. While many organizations have fallen a bit behind in providing mental health services to their employees, GTE Financial has always kept this service as a top priority. After all, when you take care of your team members, they take care of you. As such, GTE continues to keep an open line of communication and actively works to end the stigma surrounding mental health by keeping their employees' success and growth top of mind.

One of GTE Financial's employees Dolores R states, "This is great! I love the research and resources that are offered to help us live better, healthier, and more productive lives! I always find the advice for living healthier so interesting and enjoy learning things I didn't know that can make us more aware and better stewards of our health and wellness."

GTE Financial shines as an example for other organizations within Tampa Bay and beyond, to invest in mental health initiatives for the sole benefit of providing essential healthcare to their team members. GTE is an employer that champions for access to health and wellness with the inclusion of mental health. Providing these programs for their employees is another example of GTE living their mission to be the preferred financial services provider and employer in the marketplace.

GTE Financial is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. This means they make decisions for the benefit of all customers, whom they call member-owners, because each one has a stake, or ownership, in their cooperative. The money GTE earns is returned to their "shareholders," GTE member-owners, in the form of higher dividends, lower rates, and new products and services.

C Diff Foundation Releases ‘C diff and You’ App for Patients, Families, and Caregivers

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- C Diff Foundation, the leading Global Patient and Healthcare Organization Educating and Advocating for C. difficile (Clostridioides difficile, C. diff., CDAD, CDI) today announced that the organization has developed a free mobile application designed specifically for patients and families who have been impacted by a Clostridioides difficile infection.

The free app, "C diff and You," is available on the Apple Store and Google Play, and was designed by the C Diff Foundation as an interactive educational tool allowing users to access easy-to-understand information about C. diff. infection prevention, treatments, clinical trials, support, nutrition, diagnostics, and environmental safety.

Clostridioides difficile infection, also called C. diff., CDI, C. difficile, or CDAD, is a life-threatening infection.

"I am really pleased to see this further addition to the C Diff Foundation's catalogue of achievements. This is an ideal way to communicate information far and wide," stated Professor Mark Wilcox, MD, FRCPath.

"There are patients, families, and caregivers isolated, and experiencing social-economic changes resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Global efforts to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus the ramifications being witnessed range from loss of wages to difficulties meeting housing, utilities, nutrition, and healthcare expenses down to basic cable and internet connections. The one common denominator remaining accessible is the Mobile (also called Cell) phone. Developing the mobile application, 'C diff and You,' places the C. diff. community in the palm of their hands continuing to support the patients, families, and caregivers who desperately need to know that they are not alone no matter where they are," says Nancy C. Caralla, Founding President, and Executive Director of the C Diff Foundation.

Through the deployment of this app, the C Diff Foundation continues with its commitment to evolve resources to unite patients, families, and healthcare providers in the fight against C. diff. infections. The app focuses on quality resources directly relevant to patients and their care providers, aiming to lower the anxiety and fear associated with a CDI and provide easy access to reliable information to all users. "C diff and You" will also provide users with direct access to patient-centered care information, educational episodes of the "C. diff. Spores and More" archived radio episodes, and the C. diff. Global Tele-Support Network with a one tap key to "Sign Up Today" for Caregiver, Nutrition, and Physician support sessions. The telephone access key connects the app user directly to the C Diff Foundation office and the Foundation's Triage Nurses.

"Patients with a C. difficile infection are in desperate need for education on the risk factors for the infection, how to stop infection spread, the chances of recurrence, and treatment options for recurrent C. difficile. The 'C diff and You' app is an outstanding and user-friendly platform for patients to get accurate information on C. difficile infection and has resources that patients can use," says Sahil Khanna, M.B.B.S., M.S.

The C Diff Foundation Assures Patients C. diff. Clinical Trials Continue to Move Forward Safely

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- While some patients diagnosed with Clostridioides difficile (C. diff., C. difficile, CDI) believe they have run into clinical trial roadblocks, due to the recent focus on the pandemic, the C Diff Foundation wants them to know they are not out of options. Most Clinical trial sites have implemented protocols to disinfect, clean and maintain environmental safety for all visitors. Telehealth is also being utilized between healthcare professionals and patients who choose to participate in clinical trials.

Former Co-Residents Merge Podiatric Practices, Form New Modern Foot & Ankle®

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- Three Central Florida podiatric practices announced they have entered into a definitive merger agreement to create the new Modern Foot & Ankle®. The combined medical group will provide patients with additional board-certified physicians, a brand-new location, and the miniBunion™ system, a groundbreaking, minimally-invasive procedure for bunion correction.

The merger is set to close on January 1, 2021.

Dr. Adam Siegel, of Modern Foot & Ankle, Dr. Michael Zuri, of All Podiatry Group, and Dr. Roma Patel, of Prism Podiatry, are partnering together to helm the multi-regional practice-development of which has been years in the making.

"The three of us were co-residents; we were in the trenches with each other," said Dr. Siegel. "There are no two physicians I trust more than Dr. Patel and Dr. Zuri to take our brand of technologically-advanced, high-quality care and grow it into a household name in Tampa Bay and Orlando."

The group is acquiring the partners' existing locations in Tampa, Fla., Lutz, Fla., Brandon, Fla., and Casselberry, Fla., with construction underway on a state-of-the-art clinic in Winter Garden, Fla. Dr. Patel will relocate to this clinic in early 2021.

"From the ground up, we're creating a facility that's designed to make everything as easy as possible for the patient," Dr. Patel said. "It's a new era in healthcare where service matters. The Horizon West clinic will reflect that."

Modern Foot & Ankle's signature approach leverages medical and operational technologies to elevate the patient experience. As Dr. Siegel notes, most people don't have time to sit in the waiting room for an hour. They want quicker diagnoses and newer treatment options, he added.

"What we've done is build a system that can accommodate our patients in terms of convenience, efficiency, and advancements, and more important, a team who can deliver on all of that," Dr. Zuri said. "We have physicians like Dr. Steven Baker, who has more than forty years of experience. And then in February we're adding a very gifted and renowned surgeon, Dr. Evan Young."

Dr. Young currently practices at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark. A triple board-certified foot and ankle surgeon with a demonstrated record of success in challenging and unique cases, he is known for being an early adopter of the miniBunion, a cutting-edge surgical procedure.

The miniBunion can promote "a walking recovery and rapid return to real life," according to the website of its developer, CrossRoads Extremity Systems. Compared to most bunion surgeries, the website states, the miniBunion causes less soft-tissue trauma and the incision site is up to four times smaller with a more concealed location.

"The future of surgery is minimally-invasive," said Dr. Siegel. "As with every other aspect of our practice, we stay on the forefront of innovation."

Through Big-City Technology, Small-Town Care™, Modern Foot & Ankle has reshaped the patient experience and curated a progressive model for podiatric healthcare. The board-certified physicians provide comprehensive medical and surgical solutions for foot and ankle conditions in clinics across Central Florida. With 24/7 online booking and check-in, extended office hours, advanced on-site equipment, and the latest treatment options, Modern Foot & Ankle serves patients efficiently, comfortably, and on their schedule.

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- Chadwell Supply, a trusted MRO source of maintenance supplies for multi-family properties and Move For Hunger, a national hunger relief non-profit organization, have announced a new partnership that will help provide much-needed assistance to food banks across the United States. This collaboration will enable Chadwell Supply to support Move For Hunger's food rescue programs and encourage the clients, associations, and property management companies they work with to integrate the Move For Hunger model into their moving out process for residents.

People throw away a lot of things when they move, including perfectly good food. Move For Hunger's network of more than 1,000 moving companies, more than 1,500 multi-family apartment communities, and many of the world's leading relocation management companies, volunteer to collect this unopened, non-perishable food and deliver it to their local food banks. To date, Move For Hunger's network of relocation professionals and multi-family properties has collected and delivered nearly 18 million pounds of food - providing 15 million meals - to food banks and pantries across the United States and Canada.

"Partnering with Chadwell Supply both complements and advances our mission, so this collaboration was a natural fit," explains Adam Lowy, Executive Director and Founder of Move For Hunger. "By combining the strength of our network of multi-family apartment communities and relocation companies with Chadwell Supply's network and partners within the multi-family industry, we have the ability to get a large amount of food to those who need it most."

"This is a perfect combination of our company culture meshing with the relationships we have with our customers. We will be able to intercept food that would otherwise be tossed out and help reduce food waste while fighting hunger in our communities."

More than 37 million Americans were food insecure before the COVID-19 pandemic and it is estimated that the number could increase by 17 million this year, totaling 54 million. "As a result of the pandemic, we are facing, potentially, the greatest hunger crisis of our lifetime," continues Lowy. "Chadwell Supply understands the need is more critical than ever and is committed to helping Move For Hunger provide meals to those struggling to put food on the table."

Through the support of partners like Chadwell Supply, Move For Hunger can continue to feed more and empower more to fight for the families, children, seniors, and vulnerable communities who lack reliable access to affordable, nutritious food.

Denmon Pearlman Shows Real Character in New Brand Video, ‘Tampa Bay Warriors for Justice’

TAMPA, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- The law firm of Denmon Pearlman recently released a new brand video showcasing why their Tampa Bay law firm is relatable, fun, and trustworthy.

The video features Trial Attorneys and Partners of the firm Christian Denmon, Nicole Denmon, and Lee Pearlman in their true forms: honest, easy-going, and experienced.

The video, entitled, "Demon Pearlman Tampa Bay Warriors for Justice," features the partners of the firm making light fun of the status quo law commercial.

"Traditionally, law firm commercials are dramatic, ominous, and present an immediate law solution to foreboding issues one may face when in need of a lawyer," stated Christian Denmon, Partner and Lead Personal Injury Attorney for the firm. "In many cases, law firm videos stick to a reliable formula. They mention who they are, what they do, and provide a brief testimonial from a current or previous client. We knew we wanted to do something different than that and out of the box."

Denmon Pearlman decided to try a different strategy and work a different angle that they believed would resonate with individuals on a more relatable and personable level. Bits of comedy, real career backstory, and an open door to their family and success is what shines through in the narration of the storyline.

While their own career reputations and accolades devoted to law speak for themselves, they made sure they kept the overall message clear, "You are in good hands with Demon Pearlman."

There are scenes that break a metaphorical fourth wall showing their funny-side and their personalities. Their message portrayed in the video is very clear: you can trust us because we know how to help you in your time of need.

Demon Pearlman is known in the Tampa Bay Area community for their passion in standing up for their clients in times of need as well as for their community events and charitable causes including local school insensitive programs for the underprivileged youth.

If you are in need of law services and are a Tampa Bay area resident please visit https://denmonpearlman.com/ or call (813) 514-3232 to speak to the firm regarding your case.
