3rd3rd Marketing Brings ‘Un-Senior Living’ to LeadingAge Annual Conference Championing Inclusive, Age-positive Marketing in Senior Living

BOSTON, Mass., Nov. 3, 2025 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — 3rd3rd Marketing, the nation’s leading agency redefining how senior living communities connect with older adults, showcases its “Un-Senior Living” approach at the 2025 LeadingAge Annual Conference in Boston. Through two sessions with industry partners, 3rd3rd will explore how communities can reduce ageism in marketing, increase diversity in senior living communities, and improve marketing ROI.

3rd3rd Marketing is the 'Un-Senior Living Agency' and addresses ageism in marketing today on Ageism Awareness Day, and every day.
Image caption: 3rd3rd Marketing, known as the “Un-Senior Living Agency,” challenges aging stereotypes in its “Internalized Ageism” booklet — a free resource that helps organizations identify and overcome hidden biases to strengthen marketing impact.

Known as the “Un-Senior Living Agency,” 3rd3rd Marketing has developed strategies that celebrate age with authenticity and inclusivity. The agency’s “Internalized Ageism” booklet helps organizations uncover and address subtle biases that can undermine marketing effectiveness.

According to Cynthia Thurlow, Principal at 3rd3rd Marketing, the key to effective senior living marketing lies in challenging the assumptions that perpetuate ageism.

“Ageism isn’t just an external bias; it often shows up unintentionally in how organizations communicate and market,” said Thurlow. “At 3rd3rd, we help clients see beyond the label of ‘senior’ and build marketing strategies that focus on people’s values, aspirations, and lifestyles rather than their age.”

PRESENTATIONS AT LEADINGAGE INCLUDE:

  • “Reaching Out to Solo Agers to Increase Sales and Diversity,” on November 3 at 4:30 p.m., features Cynthia Thurlow, 3rd3rd Marketing, Dr. Sara Zeff Geber, LifeEncore and author of ‘Essential Retirement Planning for Solo Agers: A Retirement and Aging Roadmap for Single and Childless Adults,’ and Shirley Turner, Director of Sales and Marketing, Hillcrest in La Verne, Calif. The discussion explores how to meet their needs.
  • “Are You Wasting Money on Marketing? Assessing Your Blind Spots,” on November 5 at 10:30 a.m., features Jessica Stewart, Senior Director of Operations, Simpson Senior Living in Philadelphia, Penn., Derek Dujardin, Creative Director, 3rd3rd Marketing and Amy Estridge, Director of Account Services and Growth, 3rd3rd Marketing. Designed for the C-suite and VP-level managers of senior living communities, this presentation tackles critical blind spots many organizations face when evaluating marketing programs and offers tools to amplify what works, adjust what doesn’t and achieve measurable results.
  • All session attendees will be entered into a drawing for a free Fresh Eyes Marketing Review (valued at $12,000).

A recent success story with Hillcrest in Los Angeles County illustrates the impact of 3rd3rd Marketing’s approach. By shifting its marketing focus from chronological age to psychodemographic and cultural identity, Hillcrest increased occupancy from 87% to 95% in just seven months.

“3rd3rd helped us change not just our message, but our mindset,” said Shirley Turner of Hillcrest. “By embracing more creativity and being even more entrepreneurial, we didn’t just fill units, we built a stronger, more diverse and connected community.”

Beyond its presence at the summit, AgingIN continues to shape the national conversation through its “Elevate Eldercare” podcast, hosted by CEO Susan Ryan. Smith Sloan reflects on her career spanning the U.S. Senate, AARP, and now LeadingAge, where she leads 5,500 nonprofit, mission-driven providers nationwide. She emphasizes the need for bold thinking, public-private partnerships, and policies that keep human dignity at the heart of care.

“None of us can solve these challenges in a vacuum,” Smith Sloan says. “We need to lift each other up, take risks, and act boldly on what we know works.”

This belief is reflected in AgingIN’s renewed commitment as well. “At AgingIN, we believe person-directed living and culture change are not only compassionate but also sustainable,” said Ryan. “Katie’s leadership at LeadingAge reminds us that reform begins with courage, collaboration, and truth-telling. Real innovation happens when people come together to reimagine what aging can be.”

The November 5th episode, timed with Veterans Day, features Jack York, the founder of Talegate, a storytelling and documentary platform that elevates elders by sharing their remarkable stories. In this episode, Ryan and York’s conversation honors veterans and explores the tremendous value of sharing elders’ stories to help shift the stigma around aging in our communities.

Gonzales, Holmes & Muhoza Win 2025 Top Postdoctoral Awards

The NPA names in Boston the winners of its NPA Gallagher Mentor Award, NPA Distinguished Service Award, and NPA SCRI Postdoc of the Year Award

BOSTON, Mass., March 21, 2025 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — During its annual conference, the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) announced that Albert L. Gonzales, Ph.D., Christine Holmes, MBA, and Sixbert P. Muhoza, Ph.D., are the 2025 winners of the organization’s three most prestigious awards.

National Postdotoral Association
Image caption: National Postdoctoral Association (NPA).

“The NPA is committed to improving the postdoctoral experience and these three awards acknowledge the critical role postdocs and those who support them play in advancing knowledge and improving the human condition,” said Christopher T. Smith, Ph.D., chair of the NPA board. “Congratulations to this year’s well-deserved winners.”

The NPA Gallagher Mentor Award recognizes the very best of mentors across the nation who advocate for postdoctoral scholars, celebrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) values, and empower their postdoc scholars to succeed. The NPA is dedicated to both recognizing champions and serving as a model for greater DEIB across the postdoctoral community.

This year’s award was presented to Albert. L. Gonzales, assistant professor, department of physiology and cellular biology, at the University of Nevada, Reno. In the words of those supporting Gonzales for the Gallagher Mentor Award, “his philosophy is rooted in the belief that diversity of thought enhances scientific inquiry and innovation.” Another noted: “His mentorship has enriched the postdoctoral experience at our institution by setting a standard of excellence that inspires all who work with him.”

The NPA Distinguished Service Award recognizes the highest appreciation for an individual who has demonstrated a profound, sustained, or leadership contribution to improving the postdoctoral experience. Today, that honor was bestowed on Christine Holmes, MBA, director for postdoctoral studies at Cornell University.

Holmes received the award today to a field of applauding peers who celebrated her decades of support for the postdoctoral community. Holmes founded the Office of Postdoctoral Studies at Cornell when she became its first director in 1995. “She created important new structures to uplift and support postdoctoral scholars on a shoestring budget,” according to her peers who nominated her. “She has had a uniquely profound and sustained impact … on the lives of thousands of early-career scholars.”

This year, the NPA and Seattle Children’s Research Institute (SCRI) presented its second annual Postdoc of the Year Award, bestowing that honor on Sixbert P. Muhoza, Ph.D., a Walter Massey Fellow at the Argonne National Laboratory. The NPA SCRI award recognizes a postdoc who has advanced the postdoctoral community in an exceptional manner beyond their work duties and in alignment with the NPA mission and core values.

In nominating Muhoza for this prestigious award, faculty members applauded his innovation and dedication, noting that he “has made substantial contributions to the scientific community and beyond during his fellowship, setting a new standard for postdoctoral excellence.”

“It’s an honor simply to work alongside these three individuals in the postdoctoral community,” said Tom Kimbis, executive director and chief executive officer of the NPA. “Holmes, Gonzales, and Muhoza are among the best of the best. Their excellence demonstrates the irreplaceable role of postdocs in the greater research environment. Postdocs are essential for maintaining American leadership in the sciences and beyond.”

Individuals and organizations can follow the work of Holmes, Gonzales, and Muhoza online by collaborating with the NPA, which is committed to advancing the skills and careers of our nation’s hard-working postdoctoral scholars, whose work in all disciplines benefits Americans across all fifty states.

About the National Postdoctoral Association:

The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charitable and educational association headquartered in Bethesda, MD. Founded in 2003, the NPA envisions an inclusive community where all postdocs are empowered, valued, recognized, and supported in their current and future endeavors. The NPA serves the entire postdoctoral community, including its 24,000 individual and 250 organizational members.

Guided By Voices Fans to Celebrate Band at Special Boston-Area Event

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- The venerable indie rock band Guided By Voices (GBV) recently celebrated 40 years of music with several thousand fans in its hometown of Dayton, Ohio, performing two sold-out shows at the Dayton Masonic Center over Labor Day weekend. In the spirit of bringing that celebration to Boston, four local fans (calling themselves the Textbook Committee) have organized Forever Since Heedfest, which brings three GBV tribute bands and diehard fans from near and far to Warehouse XI in Somerville, MA this February.

The "Dayton GBV40" weekend saw some fans attending from as far away as Australia, and the city of Dayton was alive with the camaraderie of fans that insist online - tongue-in-cheek - that the fanbase is #notacult. In between performances, hundreds trekked to the Bandshell at Metro Park, the site of the first Guided By Voices show in 1983, and otherwise joined together in groups small and large to celebrate the band and its history. One local fan even opened his home to about 100 fans, who took in an afternoon performance from Teenage FBI, a GBV tribute band led by superfan Stephen Risley.

On February 10, the New Jersey-based Teenage FBI will join GBV tribute bands Cul de Sac Kids of Pittsburgh and hometown headliner Guided By Choices for Forever Since Heedfest, a regional celebration intended to bridge the gap between the annual Labor Day weekend "Heedfest" fan gatherings in Dayton. Tickets went on sale November 10 and in GBV fan fashion are moving fast, with fans from as far away as Seattle confirming attendance.

While loose discussion of a Boston event has circulated among local fans for several years, the seeds of Forever Since Heedfest, a playful riff on the band's 1986 debut EP Forever Since Breakfast, were firmly planted over the Dayton GBV40 weekend. Earlier this month, longtime fans Allison Ryder, Brian Galante, Dan Cortez and Tim Bugbee formed the Textbook Committee to plan and promote the event. The task is not a revenue-generating initiative; it is simply a labor of love for four friends with full-time jobs unrelated to concert promotion.

"Guided By Voices has a special community of diehard and casual fans that come together for shows throughout the United States and share a common bond - a love of the songbook and the band members themselves, who return that love with up to three hours of music at each show," said Ryder, the natural leader of the Textbook Committee, who has traveled to seven states to see GBV live since 2021. "Something unspoken happens when the fans come together, as was in strong evidence at GBV40 last summer. We want to bring that camaraderie to Boston, even if on a much smaller scale."

"The ultimate hope is to establish an annual tradition here in Boston that can be replicated and evolved by fans in other cities," added Cortez, a longtime fan with playful anecdotes of spending time with the band offstage as far back as the 1990s.

GBV bandleader Robert Pollard - GBV's principal songwriter and vocalist over four decades - regularly acknowledges his fans from the stage, clearly absorbing the crowd's adoration and reflecting it back through his energetic performances and trademark high leg kicks. Pollard and his bandmates - lead guitarist Doug Gillard, rhythm guitarist Bobby Bare Jr., bassist Mark Shue, and drummer Kevin March - share another common thread with the GBV fanbase: A love of Miller Lite, which the band liberally consumes from the stage at nearly every show.

There will be plenty of Miller Lite and other adult (and non-alcoholic) beverage options at the three-hour event, which begins at 7:30pm that Saturday evening. Additional bands are in discussions to join the bill at press time, and the Textbook Committee is also planning an art and photography display to add visual flair to the proceedings. That includes professional imagery of GBV in action taken by Bugbee, who moonlights as a live music photographer.

The event is 21+ and open to all.

Advance tickets are $20 and can be purchased at http://24hourconcerts.showare.com/FSHWHXI, and are $25 day of show. And in true GBV fan fashion, expect a party - or several parties - to break out in the city over the weekend.

Visit the Forever Since Heedfest event page on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/246156221475441/ for more information.

About Textbook Committee:

The Textbook Committee was formed by four Boston-area professionals who came together as music fans and friends to establish the maiden Forever Since Breakfast event with the goal of creating an annual gathering in New England for regional Guided By Voices fans. The four Textbook Committee members work in engineering (Allison Ryder), pharmaceuticals (Tim Bugbee), public relations (Brian Galante) and social services (Dan Cortez), and have teamed up to bring their various skillsets to support sales, marketing, venue/band bookings and general event planning initiatives.

BioBuilder and K2 Scientific Bring Synthetic Biology Programs and Laboratory Equipment to High-Need High Schools Around the Country

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- As a world-recognized program that trains the next generation of innovators and skilled workers in synthetic biology, the BioBuilder Educational Foundation announced new work with K2 Scientific to make high quality tools and equipment for life science research widely accessible. BioBuilder has partnered with K2 Scientific, who will donate industry-grade refrigeration units to four high-need high schools participating in the BioBuilderClub this academic year.

Consistent refrigeration of laboratory reagents is essential for a wide variety of biotechnology experiments and applications. Without precise temperature control and storage, materials and supplies for life science research degrade. Yet many high school educators, especially those in under-resourced school districts, rely on limited and unreliable cold-storage units. Many teachers forgo hands-on laboratory experiments without the appropriate cold storage equipment.

Recognizing that many high schools face financial constraints that limit classroom opportunities in the field of synthetic biology, BioBuilder annually runs the BioBuilderClub program. Since its inception in 2015, more than 1850 students from demographically and geographically diverse schools in 24 states and 7 countries have participated in a total of 202 BioBuilderClubs at low or no cost to the schools themselves. The BioBuilderClub supports real and meaningful student research, enabling high school students to take their ideas from concept to prototype to publication.

On November 9, 2022, staff and leadership from K2 Scientific and BioBuilder identified the first of four BioBuilderClubs to receive a freezer this academic year. The first recipient is the BioBuilderClub team from the Manhattan Comprehensive Night and Day High School (MCNDHS), a public school in New York City that serves students in grades 10-12.

Alfred Lwin, the MCNDHS BioBuilderClub lead teacher, said, "Our refrigerator is 20 years old, and sometimes we have difficulties using its freezer for cold storage. Thanks to the generous donation of a lab grade refrigerator by K2 Scientific, we will be able to use cold storage for our BioBuilder and other biotechnology labs."

Dee Jetton, COO from K2 Scientific, shared, "We could not be prouder to support this program. I am always so excited to see the great things the BioBuilder Program and its participants are accomplishing. We are thrilled to contribute to BioBuilder programs around the country. K2 Scientific is committed to equity and inclusion, so bringing medical and laboratory grade equipment to high-need schools is a perfect mission fit. It's nice for our team to learn about students' aha moments and accomplishments resulting from K2's support of young scientists in the field."

Founder and Executive Director of BioBuilder, Dr. Natalie Kuldell noted, "Our BioBuilderClubs are often the first - and sometimes the only - time high school students can engage in authentic research before they launch into college or careers. By making that research experience more accessible and more meaningful, we can effectively engage the next generation of scientific innovators and productively prepare our future citizens."

BioBuilder funded to expand student opportunity in rural and urban areas through its collaborative after school program

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- Thanks to a two-year grant recently awarded by BioMADE, the BioBuilder Educational Foundation will expand a program that has supported thousands of high school inventors over the last decade. BioBuilder is leading the project, "Launching High School Bioengineers on their Paths to College and Careers," with funding that will bring the authentic tools and approaches for engineering biology to BioBuilderClub students nationwide in collaboration with East Tennessee State University, Ars Biotechnica, and Daicel Arbor Biosciences.

Support from BioMADE will enable these organizations to provide teams of young innovators new opportunities to design, build and test their biodesigns, and submit their research for publication as peer-reviewed manuscripts in BioTreks (Ars Biotechnica). Industry-standard biomanufacturing reagents and mentorship from professional scientists will be provided by Daicel Arbor, while East Tennessee State University will expand the geographic and demographic reach of the BioBuilderClub and spearhead a rigorous evaluation of its impact.

Thomas Tubon, Chief Workforce Development Officer for BioMADE said, "With the bioeconomy expected to contribute over a million jobs in this field by 2030, and the growing desire to connect local feedstocks to nearby manufacturing capabilities, a program like this is essential as it can raise awareness and provide opportunities to students, regardless of geography or demography."

Founder and Executive Director of BioBuilder, Dr. Natalie Kuldell shared that, "We are thrilled to be building momentum in non-traditional STEM hubs. By simultaneously training students and celebrating their achievements, this work will draw students into the exciting and creative sides of science and engineering. It will also increase awareness among community stakeholders, including parents of participating students, high school teachers, college admissions officers, and relevant local businesses."

These goals are fully aligned with the recently signed Executive Order on Advancing Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Innovation for a Sustainable, Safe, and Secure American Bioeconomy that establishes the National Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Initiative. The National Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Initiative will create jobs, leverage biotechnology to build more resilient supply chains, improve health outcomes, and lower prices for Americans by expanding biomanufacturing capacity, creating market pathways for bio-based products, training a diverse workforce, and fostering innovation.

Hit Psychology Book Gets Updated Edition

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- "Calm & Sense: A Woman's Guide to Living Anxiety Free," the hit novel by psychologist Wendy Leeds (Calm Day Publishing, ISBN 978-0999901526), has an updated edition out with new updated studies and information. In honor of the new edition, there will be a limited time sale on the ebook version of the book across platforms.

Calm and sense uses a unique women-centric approach to anxiety. The book focuses on the needs of women. Combining up to date data from anxiety studies, personal stories, and practical tips, author Wendy Leeds offers something special in the space.

Leeds is a practicing psychotherapist with both a professional and a personal interest in finding ways to heal anxiety without medication. She has dealt with anxiety all her life and knows what it's like to live with the kind of worry and fear that make the smallest things in life difficult.

In 1995, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent several surgeries and six months of chemotherapy. It was at that low point, that she began a life-long journey to create a calm, centered joyful life, for herself and others. She began by reading everything she could get her hands on about anxiety. Then in 2006 she went back to school to earn two graduate degrees in psychology.

Ashley L Peterson of Mental Health at Home said, "['Calm & Sense'] doesn't feel like a therapist trying to educate you; rather, it has the feel of another regular person having a conversation with you, who just happens to have the knowledge and experience of a therapist. With the wide range of ideas offered in the book, I think any reader is likely to find things that work for them."

"For those who endure chronic anxiety, even seemingly innocuous daily tribulations can take on giant, scary, insurmountable portions," said Roberta Rosenthal Hawkins, MFA, PhD. "'Calm & Sense' is a loving, gentle, often witty, and infinitely helpful path through one's jungle of fears. As one might hope of any jungle guide, the author's compass is sure, her survival kit is well-stocked, and her cheerful, can-do spirit is reassuring and encouraging the whole way."

"Calm and Sense" is nationally distributed by Cardinal Publishing Group. It is published by Calm Day Publishing, and available for sale on Amazon, Barnes and Noble.com, and where books are sold.

HomeBinder’s Adaptive Home Value™ model keeps homeowners coming back to mortgage lenders, home inspectors and Realtors with equity-building insights

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- HomeBinder, a centralized home management platform that keeps homeowners connected with mortgage lenders, home inspectors, Realtors and other authorized professionals, today announced the availability of its Adaptive Home Value™ tool. The tool paints a more accurate picture of a home's value by taking into consideration property-specific details that other automated valuation models (AVMs) fail to consider, such as regular maintenance and upkeep, projects and renovations, and updates to the major systems and appliances of the home.

HomeBinder's Adaptive Home Value tool is powerful enough to take in a breadth of home data logged in a homeowner's binder, analyze that data and algorithmically calculate its immediate and long-term impact on overall home value. The web-based platform also features a user-friendly interface, ensuring homeowners can easily log maintenance, home improvement projects, appliance upgrades and other items that can affect their adaptive home value estimate.

In addition to tracking homeowners' personalized adaptive home value within the HomeBinder dashboard, the platform automates monthly emails containing adaptive home value updates and maintenance recommendations for increasing home value. HomeBinder's adaptive home value email updates are branded with the colors, logos and images of authorized professionals who have gifted the HomeBinder, keeping them top of mind with homeowners for years beyond close.

"Most homeowners are aware that home valuation goes beyond beds, baths and square footage, but are in the dark about the types of work that grows their home's value and by how much," said HomeBinder Chief Product Officer Guy Tassinari. "Our goal with Adaptive Home Value is to gamify equity building by showing homeowners the quantifiable impact maintenance and home improvement projects have on their home's value."

"Empowering homeowners with transparency into adaptive home value helps them be better stewards of their investment, and directs them back to their HomeBinder sponsor when they're in the position to sell, refinance or buy another home," continued Tassinari.

HomeBinder will be providing demos of Adaptive Home Value at exhibit booth 121 of ICE Mortgage Technology's Experience 2022 conference, being held at the Wynn Las Vegas, March 14-16, 2022.

Onsite demos can be scheduled in advance by clicking here https://meetings.hubspot.com/marketing-homebinder?utm_campaign=Lender%20Vertical%20Campaign&utm_source=Marketing%20Calendar

Journalist Elaine Alice Murphy is set to release her memoir, ‘In for Life’

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- This Jan., journalist Elaine Alice Murphy is set to release her memoir, "In for Life" (ISBN: 978-0578965659; Satuit Press), about her two-decade exploration of the wrongful murder conviction of her son's classmate and friend, Sean K. Ellis. The high-profile Boston case gained international attention when it became the subject of the eight-part Netflix docuseries "Trial 4."

Ellis was convicted in 1995 of the murder and robbery of Boston detective John J. Mulligan and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Mulligan was white, Sean is black. Age 19 at the time of the crime, Sean insisted he was innocent. It took three trials to convict him; his first two trials ended with hung juries.

Murphy, working with Ellis's family and attorneys to gain him a retrial, discovered previously undisclosed evidence of police corruption that the courts called a "game changer" and led to his release after he'd spent nearly 22 years behind bars.

"In for Life" is Murphy's riveting account of her journey through a corrupt criminal justice system and her distress at the two different Americas Sean Ellis and her son faced growing up. Woven throughout are insights from her prison conversations with Ellis that deepened their bond over two decades - a bond that became life changing for both.

Senior Harvard Lecturer and retired federal judge Hon. Nancy Gertner called "In for Life," "a remarkable story beautifully told ... of what it takes to make the criminal legal system fair - dogged determination, years and years of work, and a clear-eyed vision of what is right, no matter what the cost."

"In for Life" is available where all books are sold in January, 2022. It is nationally distributed by Cardinal Publishing Group.

HomeBinder debuts new features that strengthen the relationship between homeowners, home professionals, mortgage lenders, insurance providers and other authorized partners

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- HomeBinder, a centralized home management platform that keeps homeowners connected with mortgage lenders, home inspectors, insurance providers, home pros, real estate agents, and other authorized professionals, today announced the release of new features and user interface (UI) improvements designed to enhance the home management experience. By fostering greater consumer engagement in digital home management, HomeBinder keeps homeowners connected with the businesses that support their ownership journey, creating opportunities for repeat and referral business and helping build clients for life.

Notably, HomeBinder had introduced a proprietary home valuation tool that aggregates multiple data points - including renovations, appliance upgrades and the completion status of maintenance tasks - to estimate the home's current value and appreciation. The tool also tracks information including purchase price, current loan balance, loan term, interest rate, annual taxes and hazard insurance. The feature is designed to help homeowners better track their home's value and provide future buyers with deeper transparency into the history of the home.

The platform update also introduces an evergreen "To Do" list on the homeowner's homepage. The list highlights important tasks driven both by homeowner-specific binder data as well as the stage of ownership, following models used by many other successful SaaS platforms.

The new UI also features enhanced navigation and workflows that improve organization of tools such as document storage, maintenance history, home improvement projects, appliance models, property details and photos.

"This latest update to the HomeBinder interface strengthens homeowner engagement with the platform, keeping users connected with their mortgage lenders and other authorized home professionals," said HomeBinder Chief Product Officer Guy Tassinari. "By offering unique new capabilities and targeted improvements to organizational workflows, HomeBinder continues to be a valuable, user-friendly resource homeowners will return to again and again, creating long-term referral and repeat business opportunities."

NJ Lenders to roll out HomeBinder home management platform

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- HomeBinder, a centralized home management platform that keeps homeowners connected with mortgage lenders, Realtors and other authorized professionals, today announced that NJ Lenders has selected HomeBinder to deliver a post-closing home management experience that improves customer retention and strengthens referral partner relationships.

NJ Lenders is an independent mortgage bank that has helped more than 125,000 families in fourteen states and the District of Columbia achieve their homeownership dreams over the course of its 30 years in business. With HomeBinder, NJ Lenders will replace the three-ring binder of loan documents it has long presented to customers with a personalized, cloud-based home management platform that helps homeowners care for their home and track its value over time.

HomeBinder features include an interactive to-do list and organizational tools such as centralized document storage, maintenance history, home improvement projects, appliance models, property details and photos. The platform also keeps contact information for loan officers, Realtors and other home service providers at homeowners' fingertips throughout the homeownership journey for increased referral and repeat business.

"HomeBinder offers tremendous value as a tool today's consumer will use again and again, long after moving into the home," said Steven Grossman, owner of NJ Lenders. "Moreover, as a lender that's built our model around repeat and referral business, we love giving our Realtor referral partners an opportunity to have their brand presented alongside ours every time a consumer accesses their HomeBinder."

Added Grossman, "HomeBinder is a great tool to present to buyers at closing. We used to create literal binders to collate loan documents, insurance info and contact information for the loan officer, Realtor and attorney and then ship them out via UPS. It was a massive undertaking that required a team of interns, and it only delivered a fraction of the value of HomeBinder."

"HomeBinder makes an excellent closing gift, but it's also so much more than that," said HomeBinder Chief Strategy Officer Pete Paglia. "Mortgage companies like NJ Lenders are embracing HomeBinder as an educational tool for first-time homebuyers, a wealth-building tool for protecting the value of the asset, a customer retention tool that keeps lenders top of mind and a relationship-building strategy that referral partners will love."

With ‘Disney PRIDE in Concert,’ the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus Sets the LGBTQ Experience to the Music and Magic of Disney

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- Disney's beloved catalog of songs will be reimagined by the Boston Gay Men's Chorus (BGMC) in Disney PRIDE in Concert, a musical celebration of LGBTQ life, love, family, and perseverance, June 25-26, 2022 at Boston Symphony Hall. The show will draw inspiration from iconic Disney films like The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Mary Poppins; modern classics like Coco, Zootopia, and Wreck-It Ralph; and the magical music of Disney Parks.

The multimedia extravaganza will feature BGMC's 250-member chorus and a 20-piece orchestra performing sparkling new musical arrangements by BGMC Assistant Music Director Chad Weirick, accompanied by visuals designed by BGMC Director of Video Michael Willer using assets from Disney's films and archives. Providing the narrative of the show, personal stories from an array of diverse chorus members will be interwoven throughout the musical performances, showcasing the individual meaning and connections drawn from Disney's timeless and universal music. Tickets will go on-sale via the Boston Gay Men's Chorus in early 2022.

"Disney movies and musicals have long resonated deeply in the LGBTQ community because they often mirror our experiences in a society that hasn't always welcomed us," said Reuben M. Reynolds, III, BGMC's Music Director. "Characters are often struggling to fit in and to accept themselves, they long for a love that feels unattainable, they've lost their family of origin and had to create a new one, yet they persevere and find joy in life. They express their alienation, desire, and determination in beautiful songs that have given solace and empowerment to generations of LGBTQ people. Naturally, we're overjoyed at the chance to make the thematic connections between the Disney canon and the LGBTQ experience explicit by infusing the music with the stories of our lives."

Disney PRIDE in Concert is being produced in conjunction with Disney Concerts, the concert production and licensing division of Disney Music Group. It will feature all-new musical arrangements by Chad Weirick and a book by BGMC Executive Producer Bill Casey and Tom Choinski. Disney PRIDE in Concert will also be available for licensing in the future through Disney Concerts for performance by choruses around the world for all voice parts and voice configurations. This collaboration is the first time Disney Concerts has partnered with an organization to create an LGBTQ-specific concert package.

Disney PRIDE in Concert will take place during LGBTQ Pride Month, which commemorates a pivotal point in LGBTQ history: the Stonewall Riots of June 1969, when patrons of the Stonewall Bar rebelled and fought back against the constant anti-gay harassment by New York City police of LGBTQ people and spaces.

"Disney PRIDE in Concert will likely be the first in-person performance of the Boston Gay Men's Chorus in two years. We think it's the perfect way to come out of the pandemic to thank our singers, patrons and fans who have been so patient and supportive during the hiatus," said Craig Coogan, Executive Director of the Boston Gay Men's Chorus. "We are grateful to partner with Disney and share their commitment to showcasing the voices and stories of diverse communities, a value that is so close to our hearts, we're coming back in a spectacular way. We can't wait to perform this concert for audiences and have the show become part of the songbook for choruses around the world."

The concert is part of BGMC's hybrid 2021-22 season, which also includes a Holiday Special on WCVB-Channel 5 in December and the release of the documentary "Milestones" to mark BGMC's 40th anniversary.

About Disney Concerts

Disney Concerts is the concert production and licensing division of Disney Music Group, the music arm of The Walt Disney Company. Disney Concerts produces concerts and tours, and licenses Disney music and visual content to symphony orchestras and presenters on a worldwide basis. Disney Concerts' concert packages include a variety of formats, such as "live to picture" film concerts and themed instrumental and vocal compilation concerts, and range from instrumental-only symphonic performances to multimedia productions featuring live vocalists and choir. Current titles include the Star Wars Film Concert Series (Episodes IV-VIII), Toy Story, Aladdin, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Disney Princess - The Concert, Coco, The Lion King, Up and The Nightmare Before Christmas, which in 2019 accounted for over 900 performances in many of the world's top concert venues.

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- In celebration of the one-year anniversary of the e-book and paperback launch of "Intrapreneurs: Who, What, How and Why" (ISBN: 978-1734956900; paper), author Susan Foley has announced the book has been reissued with 12 new articles - making it a 310-page exploration of the critical role intrapreneurs play within the business environment. The new version is identified with a blue banner across the lower corner of the book, with updates offering even greater depth into the nuances that separate intrapreneurs from the more traditional employee.

The Beauty Secrets Men Don’t Want to Tell You: from Bro-tox to Dermal Fillers

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- The saying 'look good, feel good' does not only ring true for women. Being more physically attractive can have positive implications for career-minded and goal-oriented men. Women have been reaping the benefits of these non-invasive procedures for decades, but recently The Spiegel Center has seen the number of procedures performed on men increase by over 100%. So, if you have been thinking about plastic surgery and aesthetic options you are not alone, we bet your friends are thinking about it too.

Rhinoplasties have stood at the forefront of male plastic surgery for years, but we have recently seen a shift in men's concerns that has resulted in an uptick of aesthetic trends. Each male patient has their individualized concerns and goals, but the common thread amongst most is their desire to look refreshed, without it appearing obvious they have received any treatments. In the past men solely relied on Botulinum (Botox) to achieve this look. Although 'Bro-tox' once dominated the male aesthetic industry, men have now discovered the effectiveness of Tear Trough filler.

Dr. Onir, The Spiegel Center's aesthetic injector has found, "Men love getting their tear troughs filled because it is a fast and effective way to younger-looking lower eyelids without the need for surgery. What used to require a full operation can now be done in moments with the right knowledge and skills. Another popular option is Accutite -- a new non-surgical treatment to 'de-puff' the under eyes."

The Spiegel Center is home to experts in gender and aesthetics. People travel from all over for facial feminization, but to know what makes a face feminine means you know what it takes to make or enhance male attractiveness. Men and women having the same procedures need different techniques and different results.

Dr. Spiegel explains, "For men, we want more horizontal eyebrows, so we do Botox differently. This principle applies to almost all procedures whether it be the eyelid for a blepharoplasty, nose shape for a rhinoplasty, we even want the cheeks to be shaped differently, so we put filler in different areas than we do for women. The different location for cheek fillers, for example, between men and women can be millimeters apart, and the distinction makes all the difference."

To cater to these differences requires a lot of knowledge and a careful eye. The experts at The Spiegel Center understand, appreciate, and know the different techniques required to help you look attractive within your gender. Getting it right includes getting it right for men.

Tear trough hollowing can be treated by injections of hyaluronic acid fillers to restore lost volume and improve darkness and shadowing around the lower eyelids. This is an area where it is especially important to see an expert facial doctor because while the results are natural and beautiful in skilled hands if done incorrectly or by a less experienced practitioner, an unnatural bulge or bluish skin color can result. Dr. Onir and Dr. Spiegel are recognized experts at facial injections including complex regions such as the tear troughs. They have provided patients with personalized care and natural-looking results for over 20 years in the Boston area.

The Spiegel Center located on Boylston Street (Rt. 9) in Newton is comprised of an impressive team, including Dr. Jeffrey Spiegel who has been selected as one of the top five facial plastic surgeons on the East Coast and chosen as one of the 15 most influential plastic surgeons in the world. He is recognized by his peers as an expert in the most complex revision surgeries and has received almost every major award available to Facial Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Onir Spiegel is acknowledged as one of the country's Most Loved Injectors and specializes in facial aesthetics. Learn more at: https://www.drspiegel.com/

Brew Up Tax Savings with the R&D Tax Credit

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- While the trendy term "Microbrewery" may have been the proper terminology for new craft beer breweries and startups, they no longer remain "micro" in revenue, says ICS Tax, LLC (ICS). Growth in the craft beer industry in the U.S. has steadily grown to almost $30 billion.

While brewing up signature styles of beer is key to their creators' minds, the Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit can save the craft brewing industry significant tax dollars and make brewers say, "Hop Hop Hooray."

The R&D Tax Credit has been an underutilized dollar-for-dollar cash savings in the brewery and beverage industry altogether. With the R&D tax credit being made permanent and the qualifications of R&D more expansive, the credit has become more valuable and lucrative for a small brewery or startup. A misnomer is that a company must be successful or is developing something new for the "world," whereas the activity only needs to be new or improved to the brewery itself.

The R&D Tax Credit can turn skunky brews into sweet aromatic tax savings.

"Ask yourself, while you may be known for your signature pale ale, have you been working on brewing up the latest lager to captivate the increasing market? Have you adapted your formulas for changing connoisseurs?" says Lacey Robb, the R&D credit practice leader at ICS.

She adds, "It is uncommon that your brewery has not made any improvements to the product, technology, or internal processes to grow and maintain success. Internal process improvements are often overlooked and provide valuable savings to the industry."

The benefits that the R&D Tax Credit can provide the brewing industry will not leave you with a hangover, but hopped up for exciting permanent tax savings.

A few examples of activities that would qualify for the R&D Tax Credit are:

* Developing new bottle conditioning

* Generating new or improved manufacturing processes to improve manufacturing flexibility and agility

* Establishing new or improved hopping techniques and styles

* Creating or improving filtration methodologies or wastewater methods

* Developing new or improved product formulations or recipes (e.g., dry hopping)

* Conducting tests of product ingredient mixtures for desired flavor or aroma profiles

* Developing new or improved quality assurance testing processes

* Producing prototype product samples for testing and validation of new recipe formulations

* Testing prototype samples for analytical and microbiological qualities.

While all the above sounds too good to be true, many breweries may be thinking, "how does this help us when due to the pandemic, we do not have a profit?" The R&D credit was enhanced for small business startups in 2016 and can be applied against your quarterly federal payroll tax instead of your income tax.

Do not let this opportunity go stale. Now may be the time more than ever to explore this power tax savings. To learn more about the R&D tax credit, visit https://ics-tax.com/services/research-development-tax-credits/.

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- Boston startup Rahoo Baby, a baby product company made up by a team of physicians and pediatric therapists, is launching "Rahoo U," an online classroom for parents. Launching January 25, Rahoo U teaches parents the most effective techniques for helping babies master the skills they need at each stage of development, and offers guidance on how parents can incorporate these techniques into their daily routines.

Courses, which cost only $49.99 are led by a team of licensed pediatric therapists with experience from the most competitive hospitals and clinics in the Boston area.

As developmental delays become increasingly more common, today's parents know the importance of learning and overall brain development during a child's first year of life. Unfortunately, though, 90% of parents still don't receive support from qualified healthcare professionals who know how to provide the most developmentally rich early learning experiences for infants.

In the course "Mastering Baby Milestones," parents are taught specific, clinically-validated activities and techniques that help babies master the skills they most often struggle to develop on their own. Topics covered include skills such as crawling, independent sitting, and tummy-time (which 75% of parents report as a stressor at home). Mastering Baby Milestones also contains discussions about the subjects parents don't learn about until it's too late, such as how to prevent flat-head syndrome, and why it's so important that babies learn to move!

"As pediatric therapists, we've spent nearly a decade working hands-on with infants, and coaching parents on how to get the most out of their baby's first months of development," says Co-founder and CEO Matt Breen. "We're focused on bringing this information to parents from all walks of life."

As Americans spend more of their lives online in new ways, the team saw an opportunity to create Rahoo U. "The best part is being able to reach more families without having to leave their homes. Our goal is to make sure that access to early childhood development tools becomes more equitable, and this is just a starting point," Breen adds.

About Rahoo Baby

Rahoo Baby is on a mission to ensure that all parents have access to the tools and information that spark infant development. Rahoo Baby provides uniquely designed, meaningful baby products that have a lasting impact on early childhood development. Founded in 2018 by pediatric occupational therapists Matthew Breen and Erica Costa along with Physician Thomas Quinn, the group of healthcare professionals came together to play their role in making sure babies can have the best possible start in life.

The award-winning Rahoo Baby Learn & Lounge can be found online at Buy Buy Baby, and launches with Target in March 2021. Rahoo Baby plans to launch their second and third products in the Summer of 2021.

New Book Explores Unique World of Intrapreneurs and Their Role in Business Growth

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- Author and intrapreneurship expert Susan Foley, Managing Partner of Corporate Entrepreneurs LLC, is excited to announce the release of the paperback version of her latest book, "Intrapreneurs: Who, What, How and Why" (ISBN: 978-1734956900).

The new book explores the role of an intrapreneur within businesses, from how they drive innovation and serve as a catalyst for positive change, to how their unique mindset and competencies distinguish them as unconventional assets capable of propelling exceptional business growth.

"Intrapreneurs: Who, What, How and Why" offers perspective on what an intrapreneur is, the significant impact they have on an organization and how they are serving as agents of change by rewriting the rules of business. Throughout 241 pages, Foley defines intrapreneurship and chronicles the journeys of intrapreneurs across the globe, helping readers understand their individual paths to success and lessons learned along the way.

"This book examines the incredible value of having an intrapreneur on the leadership team of any business, and the extraordinary combination of qualities they possess that distinguish them from their peers," said Foley. "Intrapreneurs are leading their organizations into the future with their incredible foresight, critical thinking skills and propensity to take action versus waiting for change to happen."

As Foley explains in her book with research and real examples, intrapreneurs are quickly becoming the new face of leadership in the changing world of business. As an integral member of the internal team, they create new processes that build value through new business ventures, new product launches, new services and more. They thrive on problem solving, consistently leverage technology and address business challenges head-on - seeing every situation as an opportunity to learn and prosper.

Their self-awareness, resiliency and high level of productivity help them see business functions through a different lens, resulting in action and measurable results.

"These individuals are the hidden talent in most organizations, building and refining their skillset over time through experience," Foley said. "This person must be discovered, their talents cultivated, and their skills applied across all business functions. They can - quite literally - turn the impossible into the possible because they're not afraid to try anything. They're more afraid to not try."

"Intrapreneurs: Who, What, How and Why" takes a candid, real world look at intrapreneurship, including the force behind it, nuances, profiles, success factors, aspirations, challenges, value, leadership and the future of the role in business. It's a must-read roadmap for every business leader, helping them understand why this role is important and how to identify their own intrapreneurs for the sake of successfully driving innovation and growth.

"Intrapreneurs: Who, What, How and Why" is the third book by Foley, who has also authored "Acceleration: Changing the Speed of Growth" and "Entrepreneurs Inside."

She is Managing Partner of Corporate Entrepreneurs LLC, a professional services firm that assists businesses with building intrapreneurship as a strategy for new business growth. She is a champion for research on intrapreneurs, helping countless organizations identify their internal intrapreneurs and understand how they are distinguishable from other employees. Her breakthrough research - based largely on direct observation of intrapreneurs around the world - has helped business leaders globally understand the critical need for this role and experience their remarkable contributions.

In addition to being an expert in the field, Foley is an international speaker and taught Corporate Entrepreneurship at Babson College, Executive Education and Social Change at Suffolk University.

The e-book version of "Intrapreneurs: Who, What, How and Why" was released on June 21, 2020, and the new paperback version is now available on Amazon for $19.99.

A comprehensive summary of the book is available online at https://corporate-entrepreneurs.com/book/intrapreneurs-who-what-how-and-why - where visitors will also find additional resources focused on business growth and success.
