Kiosk and POS Market Report ‘TIGER 2026’ Released with RetailNOW 2026 Event

The report sizes the global self-service kiosk market at 39.4 billion dollars in 2024, growing to 82.1 billion dollars by 2031

DENVER, Colo., July 20, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Industry Group (TIG) and the Kiosk Manufacturer Association (KMA) will spotlight the convergence of POS, kiosks, digital signage, and edge AI at RetailNOW 2026, July 26–28 at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas. The initiative aligns with the release of TIGER 2026, a new market report from TIG that quantifies how unattended POS and self-service kiosks are reshaping global retail and payments.

Kiosk and POS Market Report ‘TIGER 2026’ Released with RetailNOW 2026 Event
Image caption: Kiosk and POS Market Report ‘TIGER 2026’ Released with RetailNOW 2026 Event.

Anchored by Intel’s first-time appearance at RetailNOW, the RetailNOW Walking Tour guides VARs, ISVs, and solution providers through a curated set of exhibitors including Intel, Advantech-AURES, POSIFLEX, Ingenico, Toshiba, Datalogic, Crane Payment Innovations, Bluefin, NMI, and Datacapsystems. The tour is designed as a practical roadmap for channel partners looking to extend beyond traditional countertop POS into unattended and software-defined deployments.

TIGER 2026 describes POS as a distributed, unattended, software-defined commerce layer spanning self-checkout, self-ordering, EV charging, smart vending, healthcare check-in, and digital-signage-enabled transaction points, rather than a single fixed-lane terminal category. The report sizes the global self-service kiosk market at 39.4 billion dollars in 2024, growing to 82.1 billion dollars by 2031, with unattended POS projected from 1.254 billion to 3.418 billion dollars at 15.4 percent CAGR.

For RetailNOW attendees, the message is clear: POS is no longer just a countertop terminal, but the operating system of self-service commerce. TIGER 2026 is being released in conjunction with RetailNOW 2026 to give POS dealers, VARs, ISVs, and payment professionals a data-backed roadmap for expanding into unattended, software-defined, and accessibility-aware self-service deployments.

The Industry Group operates a network of news and research sites covering kiosks, digital signage, retail automation, EV charging, and smart city technology, and produces TIGER series reports on self-service markets.

The Kiosk Manufacturer Association (KMA) is a global, cause-based industry association advocating for best practices in self-service, including ADA/WCAG accessibility, payments compliance, and secure, reliable deployments.

Together, TIG and KMA provide both the market intelligence and policy framework that help the retail IT channel turn self-service opportunities into scalable, serviceable solutions.

Olea Kiosks Unveils its Chicago Healthcare Check-In Kiosk: Enhancing Patient Experience with ADA-Compliant Design

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Olea Kiosks®, Inc. is excited to announce the launch of its latest advancement in healthcare technology, the Chicago Healthcare Check-In Kiosk. This innovative and inclusive solution offers a sleek, modern ADA-compliant design, elevating the user experience for all.

One of the standout features of the Chicago is its commitment to accessibility. This new design includes an offset monitor to provide easier wheelchair access and a tilt bracket to assist people of all heights. For those with low vision, the unit includes the thoughtful integration of an Audio Nav system and a keyboard to improve the user experience.

"This new design is the result of conversations with many healthcare companies that are all trying to figure out how to implement self-service properly. We wanted to ensure it addressed ADA, but not just for the sake of checking boxes, but making it user-friendly and comfortable for all users," explained Frank Olea, CEO.

"We also wanted to offer facial recognition as part of the standard product because that requirement is coming soon, so we incorporated the camera and the tilt bracket to ensure the picture can be taken properly regardless of height. You're juggling HIPPA and several requirements into one design so we're proud to deliver a kiosk that is better designed and includes more features and is better value than what's on the market today," added Olea.

The Chicago is available in three form factors: a Height-Adjustable, Freestanding and Desktop.

By streamlining the check-in process, healthcare providers can reduce wait times, optimize staff efficiency, and ultimately enhance patient satisfaction.

For more information on the Chicago Healthcare Check-In Kiosk, visit https://www.olea.com/product/chicago-healthcare/

A first-customer deployment of the Chicago kiosk is anticipated to be operational by the end of October.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. /ScoopCloud/ -- EZ-Chow, a leading provider of digital solutions for the food and retail sectors, is proud to announce the launch of its innovative self-service kiosk technology designed to tackle the dual challenges of staff shortages and supply chain disruptions faced by businesses today.

Staff Shortages: A Lingering Challenge

Labor shortages have been a longstanding issue in food service and retail industries, exacerbated by high turnover rates, wage competition, and shifting priorities among workers. The recent implementation of the New California Labor and Employment Law of 2024 has added complexity to staffing challenges, with increased minimum wages and expanded paid sick leave impacting business budgets and operations.

"The labor shortage isn't just an inconvenience for businesses; it negatively impacts their operations and bottom line," says Mo Sloan, CEO of EZ-Chow. "Reduced service levels, increased wait times, and employee burnout are just some consequences businesses face."

EZ-Chow's Solution: Self-Service Kiosks

EZ-Chow's self-service kiosks act as strategic allies for businesses, handling repetitive tasks such as order placement, payment processing, and basic customization options. This reduces reliance on staff, improves efficiency, and empowers customers to enjoy a seamless and personalized experience.

"Our self-service kiosks are more than just fancy touchscreens; they're tools that help businesses conquer staffing challenges," explains Sloan. "By automating routine tasks, businesses can free up valuable human employees to focus on higher-value activities, improving service levels and customer satisfaction."

Supply Chain Disruptions: Navigating Uncertainty

Businesses face significant challenges due to supply chain disruptions caused by natural disasters, pandemics, geopolitical tensions, and logistical failures. They impact product availability, inventory management, pricing, and demand forecasting.

"Managing supply chain disruptions requires agility and real-time visibility," notes Sloan. "EZ-Chow's self-service kiosks offer operational customizations, dynamic menu displays, and omnichannel integration, helping businesses optimize their operations."

Empowering Businesses for Success

EZ-Chow's comprehensive digital solutions, including self-ordering kiosks and digital ordering platforms, empower businesses to navigate challenges effectively and deliver exceptional customer service.

"If you're ready to take the next step to excellence, EZ-Chow can be your trusted partner," says Sloan. "Our advanced digital solutions ensure operational excellence despite staffing shortages and supply chain hurdles. Contact us today to learn more!"

Introducing The Boulder Kiosk from Olea: A New Era for Outdoor Solutions

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Olea Kiosks®, a visionary provider of self-service kiosk solutions, today announced its latest design, the Boulder Outdoor Kiosk. This new and innovative solution was created to address the growing number of outdoor self-service use cases such as food and beverage ordering, ticketing, parking, and EV charging payments.

The Boulder kiosk is highly modular and made to hold different configurations of payment terminals, printers, scanners, and cameras. It's offered in both free-standing and wall-mounted configurations, in different colors, and with custom vinyl branding.

Outdoor kiosks are inherently difficult to build, so few standard options exist for outdoor venues looking to leverage self-service business models. The Boulder was built to address this gap in the market. It's equipped with a 22-inch PCAP multi-touch touchscreen and sunlight readable display. The kiosk supports Windows, Android, and Linux applications, and with Olea's network of software partners is compatible with most POS Software Systems.

"We're really excited about the Boulder because the market was asking for a cost-effective, quality outdoor product and this model is perfect," explained Frank Olea, CEO. "We've also designed a dual-sided option to maximize footprint and to deliver even greater value," added Olea.

The Boulder's first deployment will be live soon in an EV charging application. The Boulder kiosk will be on display at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, May 18 to 21, 2024.

Olea Kiosks Introduces Redesign of Indoor and Outdoor Geneva Kiosk

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Olea Kiosks®, a visionary provider of self-service kiosk solutions, announced a redesign of its popular Geneva kiosk as it debuts this new model at International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAPPA) in Orlando November 14 to 17, 2023.

Olea's Geneva kiosk was designed for high volume amusement parks and attractions. It has now been upgraded to provide even more enclosure space for additional peripherals in a modular fashion. The re-design includes improved interior management for power supplies, cabling and networking gear, and adjustable shelves to assist with peripheral placement.

"Despite the popularity of the Geneva kiosk, we decided we could deliver even greater kiosk value with a redesign. Customers love the aesthetics, and we didn't want to change that part, but we wanted to make the peripheral cavity more flexible and convenient," explained Frank Olea, CEO.

"When we originally introduced Geneva, we designed an Indoor and Outdoor product that are essentially the same and we've been able to maintain that consistency. Adjusting the angles allowed us to deliver more enclosure space for more devices like printers, or even bill and coin acceptors or recyclers. With an improved locking system, we've also added an extra layer of protection against vandalism," added Olea.

The new Geneva Kiosk will be at International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAPPA) in Orlando, November 14 to 17, 2023 in the Kiosk Manufacturer Association Booth 6137.

Olea will also have various kiosk models throughout IAPPA in the following booths:

* Centaman - Booth 4650

* Connect&Go - Booth 2036

* PDC/Brady - Booth 3865

* VivaTicket - Booth 5100

Kiosk Industry October 2023: Self-Service Association Exhibiting IAAPA and NRF

WESTMINSTER, Colo. /ScoopCloud/ -- Kiosk Industry and Kiosk Manufacturer Association News: Trade Shows - IAAPA is next month and here is our preview. Outdoor ticketing, wristband dispense. In January we are at NRF and are a sponsor of the NRF Foodservice Innovation Zone. We have two full passes to give away for free. HIMSS and NRA after those.

Preview: https://kioskindustry.org/iaapa-kiosk-update/

Restaurant News -- Samsung with new VXT CMS for AI-powered voice order menu boards going into White Castle. New digital-only Whataburger. Outdoor pickup. Nice case study with Aramark.

ADA -- December 2023 brings the new self-service & POS guidelines from the U.S. Access Board. Several notable entries for Braille and screen-readers.

Industry Buzz Around Our Watercooler -- Couple of big deployments supposedly planned in restaurants. Charley's is in progress and it might be Burger King will follow McDonald's example and put in a thousand or so self-order kiosks. On the SCO front, it appears that Walmart is deploying its own SCO units (with lidar). That also would mean replacing the current software driving registers (Fastlane by NCR?). Our guess is the service people at NCR Bentonville are getting nervous. Costco is being sued for their website allowing all types of user info to be tracked by 3rd parties. Link below.

Kiosk Industry Self Service News for February 2023

DENVER, Colo. /ScoopCloud/ -- It's President's Day. And the Kiosk Manufacturer Association news centers around dispensing machines/kiosks and in particular legal cannabis and naloxone. Terrapin just deployed some extraordinary robotics for "bagging" and delivering marijuana here in Colorado. See the intro video in the post. Facial recognition, 1100 products, big touchscreen and the users get to watch thru a glass panel. We have a nice video demonstrating that.

In the naloxone news: last year (and year before) there were zero dollars budgeted by state, local and federal agencies for kiosks that dispense naloxone and also fentanyl detection strips. So far in 2023? Almost $500M.

Featured Sponsor this month is Panasonic. We published a case study on Wendy's recent POS upgrade. Along with that we also included drive-thru headsets, drive-thru whitepaper and menu boards. Of note in the Shake Shack news the big phrase over and over is "drive thru." We see where Wendy's teamed up with Doordash & Roku to let users order from their TV [link to story]. We need to get an update on the facial ordering that Wendy's Japan deployed.

MUFSO is coming up, and then in May there is NRA. We are in the Tech Pavilion.

The ADA retail restaurants is a recap of the recent U.S. Access Board webinar which was terrific. We've included the graphics illustrating all of the architectural considerations that can be overlooked (except by trolling attorneys looking for a fast buck).

Regulations for EV charging stations are coming to a head. We participate on several ANSI workgroups and their official EV regulations go out for public review by end of March. The U.S. Access Board is releasing their ANPRM by end of summer.

News from Kiosk Association

It's President's Day. And the Kiosk Manufacturer Association news centers around dispensing machines/kiosks and in particular legal cannabis and naloxone. In the naloxone news: last year (and year before) there were zero dollars budgeted by state, local and federal agencies for kiosks that dispense naloxone and also fentanyl detection strips. So far in 2023? Almost $500M.

Kiosk and Digital Signage News from Industry Group and Kiosk Association (KMA) for Jan. 2022

DENVER, Colo. /ScoopCloud/ -- January news from the Industry Group and the Kiosk Association: NRF is coming up this weekend and we are hopeful our retail facial payment finalist takes home the "Best Payment Innovation" award. The transactions and enrollment numbers certainly justify it.

We also thank Jim Kruper with KioWare who is managing the booth. Stop by and see contactless self-order, assistive technology ala McDonalds and the new Ingenico Self-4000 terminal. He is featured on our portal page on NRF -- NRF Big Show #1606.

Big legal ADA news is Quest Diagnostics got very bad news on two fronts. The class action part will drive remedial actions across the entire country, and all units. That originally inexpensive kiosk has the definite possibility now of turning out to be an expensive choice.

For the upcoming DSE show in Vegas/March, besides hoping COVID will subside, we are hoping to show a cool 4K 85-inch demo deployed recently at super major retailer (they sell staples?). At NRA our odds are pretty good we will have the Samsung "KMA" kiosk in our booth (running Nanonation partner software). We are in the Tech Pavilion.

Olea Kiosks, Inc. Announces Manufacturing Expansion, Engineering Growth

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Olea Kiosks®, Inc., a visionary provider of self-service kiosk solutions, today announced expansion of its manufacturing and engineering capacity in Los Angeles, Calif. This expansion enables Olea to continue to grow its customer base, partnerships, and OEM relationships to provide faster time to market and greater operational agility.

Going from 48,000 square feet to more than 80,000 square feet, this investment allows Olea to grow its manufacturing volume in its current site and move test and assembly to the new facility next door. The company has also brought on additional engineering design resources and further invested in its data-driven approach to scale and automate internal processes.

Following the completion of site improvements in Q1, this expansion will also provide more floor space to stock additional items giving the company greater capacity to shorten turn-around times on its most popular kiosks.

"This is an exciting new chapter for Olea Kiosks and a considerable progression in our strategic journey," said Frank Olea, Chief Executive Officer. "As a domestic supplier, we've prevailed in an extremely challenging competitive environment. With our universal models, custom designs, and OEM business, we want to further scale for production, field deployment, and support to provide increased value to our strategic partners and produce superior solutions for our customers while serving as a preferred supplier and employer for decades to come. This also gives us some additional space for more exciting changes later this year... more on that to come," added Olea.

Many kiosk suppliers manufacture overseas, and while that can appear to deliver cost savings, it's often in exchange for time-to-market, lack of control, inconvenience, and quality. With the addition of four new products over the last 18 months and just as many in 2021, Olea Kiosks® will further expand its rich and diverse self-service kiosk solution portfolio.

Olea Kiosks, Inc. Announces Strategic Partnership with UrVenue

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Olea Kiosks®, Inc., a visionary provider of self-service kiosk solutions, today announced a strategic partnership with UrVenue, the leading hospitality technology platform that powers commerce, enhances the guest experience and monetizes a resort's real estate. With conveniently placed Olea kiosks on-property, this partnership enables venues and hotel properties to layer in another customer touchpoint that drives self-service revenue with transactions that are contactless, resource-free, branded, and always open for business.

With more than 40 years of delivering self-service solutions, Olea Kiosks® understands the value of reducing friction in the guest experience. Urvenue's 10+ years of experience in the resorts and hospitality realm and its ability to leverage its technology to monetize non-room inventory and other guest touchpoints during the in-stay journey solves one of the greatest challenges for resort managers. Combining UrVenue's powerful booking platform with self-service kiosks puts guests in complete control.

"It's exciting to partner with another U.S.-based company so focused on technology that puts the power in the hands of the user," said Frank Olea, CEO of the company that now spans four generations. "Self-service kiosks equipped with the same technology used across all customer touch points helps with workforce management and removes mundane tasks like order and payment entry to allow staff to focus on higher-value tasks that truly enhance the guest experience," added Olea.

"Partnering with a trusted kiosk brand such as Olea will help unlock the full potential of UrVenue to resorts and venues all over the world," said Deron Pearson, CEO of UrVenue. "Together we'll be able to service customers with what they want, when they want in a safe and easy way as well as provide resorts with important insights, data and guest management."

An Olea kiosk paired with UrVenue's booking solution puts hospitality patrons in the driver's seat with frictionless, on-property, cashier-less, self-service booking capabilities. Guests can now book and transact any inventory within UrVenue, including but not limited to, special event ticketing such as seasonal pop-up experiences, show tickets, restaurant reservations, pool-side cabanas, nightclub and day club admission, special promotion vouchers, sportsbook lounge seats and bundled on-property experiences to name a few.

UrVenue's hospitality-built booking platform makes it is easy to transact any type of non-room inventory on property and with Olea's flexible, modular design, the physical unit can be branded and designed for custom transactions including physical outputs such as show tickets or customized promotional vouchers or wristbands.

The pandemic has created significant disruption for the hospitality industry. Self-service kiosks reduce human interaction at a time when guests of all ages are comfortable using kiosks. In addition, venues can eliminate wait times with reservations, long lines, and processing payments, while increasing ticket lift dramatically, at a time when every second and penny of revenue counts.

Circa Resort and Casino will be the first resort to use the Olea with UrVenue kiosk at the beginning of 2021.
