After, Inc. just published a first-of-its-kind ‘Warranty Claims Scoring 101’ guide, giving manufacturers an in-depth look at how automated claims scoring is transforming the industry

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- After, Inc., a global leader in Warranty Services since 2005, developed a "Warranty Claims Scoring 101" guide, leveraging the expertise of its world-class Warranty Analytics team and over 17 years of claim scoring experience. Warranty Claims Scoring is a discipline not widely understood. Few in the industry know how these models are built and implemented, and the significant cost savings they can deliver. After, Inc. developed this guide to educate manufacturers, specifically now, when high inflation, layoffs, and supply chain issues are accelerating the need for warranty business transformation.

After, Inc.'s Group Director of Analytics, Dan Adelsberg, widely respected in the industry for his warranty-specific expertise, helped create this guide.

"What we see when we analyze clients' current systems is their use of basic business rules to process warranty claims," said Adelsberg. "For example, one manufacturer might automatically approve all claims below a certain cost. Another might check whether labor and parts costs are accurate, but neglect to compare those costs across similar dealers in its network. These examples and many others like them illustrate the need for more sophisticated claims scoring models - models that can better identify anomalies and save manufacturers millions in claim costs every year."

After, Inc.'s "Warranty Claims Scoring 101" guide covers:

* What is warranty claims scoring?

* How does it work?

* What challenges does claims scoring solve?

* How do I implement it?

* What results should I expect?

After, Inc. Outlines its Commitment to Sustainability

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- After, Inc. announced today its ongoing commitment to a sustainable future, detailing its multi-year strategy and initiatives on its website. Given its history as a post-sale technology and solutions partner to the world's top manufacturers and retailers - and its recent purchase of Accentf(x) Marketing with its Lettershop facility - After is now one of the largest multi-channel Warranty Marketing and Database Management providers in the country. With that growth also comes the responsibility to invest in a sustainable future.

What After, Inc. has always done:

* Extensive data hygiene - After utilizes multiple mailing address and enhancement databases and validation techniques to maximize mail deliverability and minimize waste.

* Predictive modeling - After uses predictive modeling to only send direct mail to those most likely to respond.

* Extended warranty programs - After helps its clients build extended warranty programs that utilize nationwide service repair networks to enable customers to extend the life of their current products.

What After, Inc. accomplished in 2022:

* Paper sourcing - After sources paper and envelopes from providers that purchase their pulp from sustainable forests that plant more trees than they harvest.

* Paper recycling - After recycles all unused paper and wooden pallets and encourages its clients to print a recycle call to action on all direct mail.

* New printing equipment and capabilities - After purchased a new, leading-edge, four-color printing system to maximize print efficiency, expand our capabilities, and minimize downtime. The system, with its duplex printing and automated splicing and folding, greatly reduces waste from paper roll changes and the need to scrap pre-branded client templates. The system is in place, and training is nearly complete.

2023 Initiatives:

* In-house mail production - Prior to the Accentf(x) acquisition, After outsourced its mail printing. With the acquisition and expanded print capacity, After will move all its mail production in-house for its current and future marketing clients.

* ECO mail stock - After will implement Forest Stewardship Guidelines (FSG) that require all mail pieces to be printed on ECO mail stock.

* Post-consumer waste (PCW) paper - After will source paper that is 10-15% PCW or recycled pulp fiber.

"Our commitment to sustainability is a top strategic priority," says Nate Baldwin, CEO of After, Inc. "While we believe that direct mail is a crucial component to any successful Warranty Marketing strategy, we are also dedicated to supporting a sustainable planet. By bringing all printing capabilities in-house, investing in top-of-the-line printing equipment, and incorporating sustainable sourcing, we can confidently assure our clients and their customers that the highest eco-friendly standards are being met."

After, Inc. Announces the Launch of QuickInsight® – Its Powerful Post-Sale Customer Data Enrichment Platform

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- After, Inc., a global leader in post-sale technology and services, just announced the launch of its QuickInsight® customer data enrichment platform. QuickInsight® is one of five post-sale customer experience platforms that After, Inc. calls its QuickSuite®, which just won The SAMMY Award from Business Intelligence Group for "Product of the Year."

Designed to work together at each stage of the post-sale lifecycle, the QuickSuite® platforms help clients build meaningful relationships with their customers. The five platforms include: QuickReg® (registration), QuickCover® (product protection), QuickClaim® (product return, replacement and repair management), QuickInsight® (customer data enrichment and analytics), and QuickRenew® (renewals and consumable subscriptions), launching next month.

QuickInsight® allows businesses of any size to add demographic variables to their customer records at the neighborhood level (Basic) or household level (Premium), helping them better segment their customer databases, make more personalized offers, drive higher ROI on their paid ad spend, and increase brand loyalty. Buyers' expectations have risen in the pandemic. They expect personalized and relevant interactions with the brands they purchase from, and QuickInsight® can help make that happen.

"We are really excited about our QuickInsight launch," says Nate Baldwin, CEO of After, Inc. "QuickInsight allows our clients to append data variables like age, gender, income, education, marital status, presence of children, and even Experian's Mosaic segments (for example, Power Elite, Young City Solos, Blue Sky Boomers, etc.) to their customer records. For example, if you are a brand that sells a variety of products, QuickInsight can tell you that one customer is single, highly educated, and lives in the city, and another is married, has children and lives in the suburbs. That is powerful information. And if you also purchase our QuickReg® smart registration platform, you can receive the QuickInsight data in real-time at the beginning of the customer lifecycle. The ROI on this platform is huge, and the demand so far has been overwhelming."

After, Inc.’s QuickCover Extension is Now Available on the Top Four eMarketplace App Stores – Shopify, Adobe Commerce, Woo Commerce, and BIG Commerce

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- After, Inc., a pioneer in the Warranty Services industry, just announced that its QuickCover® product protection technology is officially available on Shopify, Adobe Commerce, Woo Commerce, and BIG Commerce. QuickCover® is one of five post-sale customer experience platforms that After, Inc. calls its QuickSuite.

Designed to work together at each stage of the post-sale lifecycle, QuickSuite enables e-commerce sellers to build meaningful relationships with their customers. The five platforms in the QuickSuite include: QuickReg® (registration), QuickCover® (product protection), QuickClaim® (claims management), QuickInsight® (analytics and reporting), and QuickRenew® (add-on consumable subscriptions).

With QuickCover® now available on all four e-commerce marketplaces, it is poised to power over 2/3 of all e-commerce protection plan sales. According to Oberlo, current U.S. market share percentages for the four emarketplaces as of May 2022 are: Shopify (32%), Woo Commerce (23%), Adobe Commerce (9%), and Big Commerce (3%).

"After has been a best-in-class warranty services company for over 15 years, helping global manufacturers optimize their businesses after the point of sale," said Nate Baldwin, CEO of After, Inc. "QuickCover - and the whole QuickSuite - didn't happen overnight. We saw a shift in the market several years ago, with many of our manufacturing and retail clients moving significant percentages of their product sales online. They needed a solution to offer their own branded protection plans across all of their e-commerce channels.

"What's great about QuickCover is that OEMs and Third-Party Administrators can white label the technology to drive more online protection plan sales. We partner with them to launch their own branded plug-in on Shopify, Woo, BIG and/or Adobe Commerce. They can use it on their own website and provide the extension to online dealers and distributors, allowing them to maintain control over the entire post-sale customer experience."

After, Inc. Announces Its New Corporate Rebranding to Focus on Customer Experience Technology

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- After, Inc. today announced the launch of its corporate rebranding effort, including a complete website redesign to reflect the company's evolution to Customer Experience Technology. Since 2005, After Inc. has been providing best-in-class post-sale services to the world's largest manufacturers and retailers.

In 2021, After, Inc. launched its QuickSuite platform, a modular set of SaaS technologies to help manufacturers, retailers, and e-commerce sellers build deeper relationships with their customers, increase loyalty, and drive higher lifetime value. The suite covers the entire post-sale lifecycle, and includes: QuickReg®, QuickCover®, QuickClaim®, QuickInsight®, and QuickRenew®.

"2021 was a turning point for After, Inc.," says Nate Baldwin, After, Inc.'s CEO. "We launched our QuickSuite, brought on new SaaS Product, Marketing and Sales teams, and evolved our focus from a post-sale services company to a customer experience technology company. The cost of poor customer experience is going up. That's why our QuickSuite technology is so relevant. It allows retailers and manufacturers to provide differentiated and personalized experiences at each stage of the post-sale lifecycle - from registration to product protection, claims management to personalized offers - driving higher engagement, loyalty and lifetime value."

Along with the corporate rebranding, After, Inc. shares a new vision, mission and set of core values. "Our vision is pretty bold," says Dawn Taylor, After, Inc.'s Chief Revenue Officer. "We want to be the global leader in post-sale customer experience technology. But what people don't realize is that After has been providing post-sale technology and services to the world's largest manufacturers for over a decade. Now with our QuickSuite, merchants, manufacturers and TPAs of any size can download our user-friendly SaaS platforms and be up and running in minutes, not months. Given the explosion of ecommerce the past two years, the market has grown, along with a stronger need for competitive differentiation. We are excited about this next phase in our company's growth trajectory."

After, Inc. and PermaPlate® Partner to Deliver PermaPlate Furniture Protection powered by QuickCover® to Online Furniture Retailers

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- After, Inc., the leading customer experience technology company providing software and services to the world's top manufacturers, retailers and merchants, today announced its partnership with PermaPlate Furniture, the furniture protection plan division of PermaPlate®. PermaPlate® recently expanded its warranty administration solutions to offer furniture coverage to online furniture and home furnishing retailers.

Furniture and homeware e-commerce generates $55 billion in revenue in the United States, according to Statista's September 2021 estimates - 12% of total retail e-commerce and the fastest growing sector, beating fashion and electronics. Given PermaPlate's reputation for delivering a world-class experience to its customers, it chose to partner with After, Inc., who has been providing best-in-class post-sale services to global retailers and manufacturers since 2005.

"For the past fifteen years, After, Inc. has been helping some of the world's top brands like Electrolux, Ford, Harley Davidson, Toro, Husqvarna, Canon, and Bass Pro Shops transform their warranty programs," says Nate Baldwin, CEO of After, Inc. "Now we have taken that knowledge and expertise, helping our clients optimize their product registration, service contract sales, analytics and program management, and built the QuickSuite platform. A key difference in our QuickCover® technology is that it does not compete with manufacturers, retailers or TPAs - like PermaPlate Furniture - who have their own service contract programs. Instead, it provides the technology they need to maximize their own online protection plan sales. We're thrilled to partner with PermaPlate Furniture to offer its Furniture Protection Plus plans powered by QuickCover®."

"After, Inc.'s QuickCover® technology was the clear choice for PermaPlate Furniture," says John Nisson, President of PermaPlate®. "After knows how critically important the customer relationship is for both manufacturers and retailers. They also understand the fundamental nuances and market demands for manufacturing limited warranties, and how to deliver best-in-class post-sale experiences for customers. After aligns with PermaPlate Furniture's strategic expansion plans to deliver innovative solutions to online furniture retailers. Its QuickCover® platform will allow any online furniture retailer to easily implement and offer PermaPlate Furniture protection plans with confidence in minutes through native e-commerce platform APIs like Shopify and Magento."

After, Inc. publishes a ‘Risk Management 101’ guide that gives Warranty Leaders a first-hand look at this complex discipline

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- After, Inc. a pioneer in the Warranty Services industry, has provided innovative warranty marketing, analytics, and program management solutions to top-tier manufacturing clients since 2005. In delivering program management solutions, After, Inc. found that few manufacturers understand Risk Management - yet it can be one of the most impactful aspects of Warranty Programs. So, After, Inc. prepared this guide to share the basics of the discipline, as there is nothing like it available in the industry today.

After, Inc.'s EVP, Paul Swenson, a highly respected veteran in the Warranty Services industry, helped develop this guide. "A lot of manufacturers and retailers 'don't know what they don't know' about available warranty risk structures and the true costs of risk transfer," said Swenson.

"Frequently, risk oversight is outsourced to companies that use old-school actuarial methods which don't forecast claims or reserves accurately - nor provide the business intelligence needed to optimize and expand the warranty programs. This leads to untapped opportunities that they may never discover or, often worse, unwarranted rate increases that have negative impacts on their programs and the ability to deliver a great customer experience. This guide is designed to give Warranty leaders and their teams a much-needed introduction to the basic concepts of Risk Management - and the impact that inaccurate claims forecasts can have on their profitability."

This "Risk Management 101" guide covers:

* Section 1 - the key components and definitions in Risk Management.

* Section 2 - types of risk structures and the pros/cons of each.

* Section 3 - how to accurately estimate losses and how errors can impact program profits.

* Section 4 - a case study on how After helped Polaris - a long-time client - develop a risk roadmap that led from a completely outsourced risk management structure to creating its own warranty company.

After, Inc. launches QuickReg 2.0 with additional benefits for Manufacturers and their Customers

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- After, Inc., the global leader in Warranty Marketing and Analytics Solutions since 2005, just announced the launch of QuickReg(TM) 2.0, the next iteration of its smart registration solution. QuickReg(TM), launched in March 2019, helps manufacturers drive higher registration rates by making product registration quick, easy and convenient for consumers through their preferred channel of choice.

"Our research has shown that there are four reasons for low product registration rates," says Nate Baldwin, CEO of After, Inc. "First, current registration processes are not convenient for consumers. Consumers won't do it if it's manual, time-consuming and requires multiple steps. Second, registration must happen right away, when consumers first get their products, or it won't happen at all. Third, with CCPA and the additional consumer data protection legislation happening across the country, registration solutions must give consumers control over their data and how it is used. And finally, although consumers are more willing than ever to share their data, they must feel they are getting value in return. QuickReg incorporates all of these requirements."

QuickReg(TM) initially offered two ways for customers to register their products. They could send the model number via text to a specified phone number, or take a picture of the model number and send it via text or email. This would launch an automated process where QuickReg(TM) would engage the customer in a two-way discussion, verify their personal information, and complete the registration process in a few simple steps.

QuickReg(TM) 2.0 gives consumers an additional option. They can scan a QR code or RFID tag on the manufacturer's product box, with the model number embedded.

"A majority of manufacturers are moving towards using QR codes and RFID tags for product identification, so we have enhanced QuickReg to accept it," says Baldwin. "We are excited about QuickReg's added functionality and the convenience it provides to manufacturers and their customers."

After, Inc. Publishes Latest Research on California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA) – Effective Jan. 1, 2020 – and Its Implications for Manufacturers

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- After, Inc., a pioneer in the Warranty Services industry, has delivered innovative warranty marketing, analytics and program management services to top-tier manufacturers since 2005. As an industry leader, After, Inc. stays on top of regulations that may affect its manufacturing clients. The California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA) is one of these.

The CCPA, passed on June 28, 2019, provides California residents with the rights to: know what personal information is being collected about them; to access that information; to know if their personal information is disclosed and to whom; to know if their personal information is sold and to opt out of the sale; and to receive equal service and price whether or not they exercise their privacy rights.

A company is subject to the law if it is a for-profit business that collects personal data, does business in California, and satisfies one of the following: a) has gross revenues over $25 million, b) has information on over 50,000 customers, households or devices, or c) earns more than 50% of its revenue from selling personal information.

While this law pertains only to California residents, other states are considering similar versions, meaning that businesses must take the steps necessary to ensure that their data systems and processes are updated for compliance.

To help manufacturers prepare for CCPA, After, Inc. put together a checklist of eight key workstreams (see image). Each of these workstreams requires cross-functional communication and coordination across operations, marketing, finance, legal and customer service.

This is not an easy task, so After, Inc. suggests that manufacturers start preparing today. On the bright side, if companies have already satisfied the GDPR requirements for their European customers, they have a significant head start.

After, Inc.'s research also covers the requirements for third party service providers that have access to California resident data on their clients' behalves, for "advertising or marketing, analytics and similar services."

Note: Manufacturers should seek legal counsel to determine specifically how CCPA applies to their company.

After, Inc. Announces Publication of ‘First of its Kind’ Study of Millennials and Extended Service Plans (ESPs)

NORWALK, Conn. /ScoopCloud/ -- In December 2018, After, Inc. launched its "Millennials and Extended Service Plans" study, to investigate the attitudes and behavior of Millennials regarding manufacturers' product warranties and Extended Service Plans (ESPs).

The After, Inc. study surveyed 500 Millennials age 22-37 who had purchased new products in the last six months across five categories: smartphones, tablets, laptops/desktops, printers and digital cameras. Participants were segmented by gender, household income, personal vs. business usage, where they bought the products, and whether or not they purchased an Extended Service Plan.

Some key findings of the After, Inc. study include:

1. ESP attach rates were higher among men, higher income households (except smartphones where income is not a factor) and business vs. personal users.
2. The highest ESP attach rate was with digital and video cameras (76%). Less than half of Millennials purchased ESPs in the other categories.
3. The higher the device cost, the higher the ESP attach rate.
4. Millennials want to learn about ESP benefits and cost before or at time of purchase.
5. The primary reasons Millennials purchase ESPs is "to extend product life", "peace of mind" and "high repair/replacement cost".
6. Reasons for not purchasing include "manufacturer warranty is enough" and "not a good value".
7. Millennials are highly influenced by reviews from customers and friends.

Based on their research, After, Inc. has three recommendations for ESP providers:

1. Consider offering multiple ESP plans: a) less coverage for a lower price, which may encourage more price elastic Millennial buyers, and b) separate plans for personal vs. business, with lighter personal coverage and more robust small business coverage.
2. Highlight your ESP offerings and benefits on your website so Millennials can conduct research before they purchase.
3. Encourage product reviews on the Internet - incorporate into your ESP solutions page, social media, Amazon website, or other retailers' websites. Make sure to monitor reviews and respond to create a two-way dialogue.
