3rd3rd Marketing President Cynthia Thurlow to Challenge Status Quo at LeadingAge Leadership Summit

The session explores a modern marketing playbook for senior living executives

SEATTLE, Wash., April 20, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Cynthia Thurlow, CEO and President of 3rd3rd Marketing, will join an influential panel of national marketing leaders at the LeadingAge National Leadership Summit to present “Rebuilding Your Marketing Engine with a Modern Mindset.” The session will take place on Tuesday, April 21, from 1:45 to 3:00 p.m. The summit brings together aging services providers, policy experts, and advocates to discuss technology, workforce, and housing.

Thurlow will be joined by Timi Mafua, Senior Manager of Studio Management at T-Mobile, and another general agency panelist, bringing together perspectives from global consumer brands and leading advertising agencies that benefit operators of senior living communities and aging services.

The session will take a candid look at why many nonprofit senior living organizations struggle to innovate—not due to lack of vision, but because leadership teams and boards are often navigating immediate operational priorities, leaving limited capacity to advance modern marketing and brand strategy. It will also examine the hidden “census killers” holding organizations back, including overreliance on generic advertising, internal micromanagement, fragmented decision-making across stakeholders, building before brand strategy, and misaligned staffing investments in an increasingly complex, modern market.

Speakers will challenge the long-standing assumption that adults 60+ represent a single, homogenous audience and offer a new path forward.

Attendees will gain a practical, modern playbook for:

  • Restructuring marketing functions for agility and growth
  • Designing products and experiences aligned with evolving consumer expectations
  • Building brand platforms that generate demand and unlock innovation
  • Exploring effective nonprofit senior living marketing strategies, which challenge the assumptions that perpetuate ageism as more adults enter the “third third” of their lives

“I am hearing, and I am seeing more often that when it comes to independent living, people are ‘waiting too long’ to move in. It’s the ‘NOT YET’ mentality. While senior living is doing important work, what it needs to realize is it’s now a mature category that hasn’t consistently innovated to meet its market,” said Thurlow. “Younger Baby Boomers, in particular, don’t see themselves in what’s being offered, or how it’s being marketed. That disconnect is what’s driving hesitation, and it represents a major opportunity for reinvention. When it comes to selling ‘care’ this dynamic is exacerbated.”

Through its work with senior living organizations nationwide, 3rd3rd Marketing helps clients move beyond thinking of age as a demographic to focus on psychodemographics, including values, interests, and aspirations that more accurately reflect today’s consumer. This approach enables communities to build more meaningful connections and drive sustainable growth.

The session will also explore how leading brands outside of senior living approach marketing systems and what lessons can be applied immediately within the sector.

“In studying the senior living space, I was struck by how even a built-in customer base doesn’t guarantee growth,” Mafua said. “It’s a reminder that what got you here won’t get you there. Real differentiation takes bold thinking, the courage to change and a partner with the experience to guide you. It’s not a built-in skill for most organizations.”

The LeadingAge National Leadership Summit convenes top executives and decision-makers from across the senior living and aging services fields to explore strategies that shape the industry’s future.

Groundbreaking New Book Issues Call to Action on Racial Schism Among Black and White Women Following 2024 Election

WILMINGTON, Del., Jan. 14, 2025 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — As Black women and White women in the United States struggle to redefine the “Sisterhood” – a bond of shared identity and collective empowerment – in the face of the clear demarcation of who voted for whom in the 2024 Presidential election, renowned author and minister Rev. Dr. A’Shellarien Addison announces the release of “This Is Not That: Black Women and White Women Breaking the Chains of Religious, Racial, and Psychological Violence in the Rise of Kamala Harris” (ISBN 979-8344040080; Desakajo Publishing). This timely work delves into the history and impact of societal, religious, and psychological structures that have sown division between Black and White women in the United States for generations—and offers a transformative blueprint for unity through “Spiritual Sisterhood.”

This Is Not That by Rev. Dr. A'shellarien Addison
IMAGE caption: Cover of “This Is Not That: Black Women and White Women Breaking the Chains of Religious, Racial, and Psychological Violence in the Rise of Kamala Harris.”

“This is a call to embrace true Spiritual Sisterhood – a sacred, safe space where women come together to connect, affirm, and uplift one another,” says Rev. Dr. A’Shellarien. “It’s time to move beyond the dysfunction that has limited us, to see each other fully, and to honor the strength that resides in unity.”

“This Is Not That” arrives at a pivotal moment. It challenges women to recognize and confront the barriers that have historically hindered the Sisterhood, from the subjugation perpetuated by patriarchal religious systems to the racial divides reinforced by societal constructs dating back to chattel slavery. Each chapter unfolds a journey through this landscape, exploring how women’s experiences and perceptions of self-worth have been shaped—and how they can be healed.

Rev. Dr. A’Shellarien writes with conviction, reflecting on the rise of Kamala Harris as a moment of unprecedented opportunity for women across racial and cultural divides to come together. The author sees Harris’s leadership as a living example of the possibility of transcending traditional barriers through authentic connection, support, and shared vision.

According to the author, women are called not only to lead but to cultivate “followship” – a mutual commitment that honors each other’s inherent worth. This book challenges Black and White women to set aside old narratives of division, to reclaim their voices, and to act in unity.

Through seven illuminating sections, readers are guided to understand the roots of separation, recognize the sacred strength within a true Sisterhood, and embrace a vision of collective empowerment:

  1. Let Us Make Humankind
  2. Let Us Make Man
  3. Let Us Make White Woman
  4. Let Us Make Black Woman
  5. Let Us Make An Intersection
  6. Let Us Make A Change
  7. Let Us Make A Difference

“This Is Not That” is a timely call to action for women of all backgrounds to reclaim their power, voice, and vision, paving the way for a future where they lead side by side in harmony. It is a must-read for anyone invested in building a more equitable, inclusive, and empowered society.

“This Is Not That: Black Women and White Women Breaking the Chains of Religious, Racial, and Psychological Violence in the Rise of Kamala Harris” is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and at https://mybook.to/DrAShellarienempowers.

Author Sharon Gillenwater’s Memoir ‘Scaling with Soul’ Goes Behind the Scenes on Scaling and Selling a $25 Million Business

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Building a company out of nothing and selling it for $25 million is a dream for many-but not for Sharon K. Gillenwater. Legacy Launch Pad Publishing is delighted to announce the release of "Scaling with Soul" (ISBN: 978-1964377001 [ebook]; 978-1964377018 [paperback]; 978-1964377025 [hardback]; 978-1964377032 [audiobook]), the author's debut memoir detailing her journey to success.

Her previous stints as an entrepreneur included a failed effort to sell flowerpots at the flea market when she was 27 and a short-lived dot-com business that she started in her kitchen. In other words, finding out that her tech company was being acquired for tens of millions of dollars wasn't even on her bucket list.

So, how did an "average Jane" from the San Francisco Bay Area end up joining the big leagues? More importantly, how did she do it without being an a**hole?

"Scaling with Soul: How I Built and Sold a $25 Million Tech Company Without Being an A**hole," explains to readers how an Inc. 5000 entrepreneur was able to build her company into a tech empire without venture capital or insider connections - and why her story is especially important for other women to hear.

"Although women start businesses at more than twice the rate of men, fewer than 2% of female business owners ever make it to $1 million in annual revenue," she says. "We rarely hear from women with entrepreneurial dreams who succeed against all odds and create life-changing wealth. It's time that changed."

"Scaling with Soul" is available now on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other major online booksellers.

To secure your copy of "Scaling with Soul," visit Sharon K. Gillenwater's Amazon author page here or visit the book's website http://www.scalingwithsoulbook.com.

Top Female Sports Executive, Lisa Pantages of the San Francisco Giants, Named FWSF 2024 Financial Woman of the Year

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF) today named Lisa Pantages as the FWSF 2024 Financial Woman of the Year. Ms. Pantages is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the San Francisco Giants. FWSF is particularly excited to award the organization's highest honor to a female sports executive, a sector which FWSF has not previously recognized. When she assumed her role as CFO, Lisa became the first woman to ever hold the position at the Giants and one of just a few in all of Major League Baseball. The San Francisco Giants are one of the oldest and most successful teams in Major League Baseball history, with more wins than any team in the history of major American sports. Lisa is not only a lifelong San Francisco Giants fan, she is now in her 22nd season working in the Giants organization and was named its Chief Financial Officer in 2013.

In addition to her role as the CFO of the Giants organization, she also serves as the Treasurer of the Giants Community Fund, an organization dedicated to using baseball and softball to promote health, education, and character development to propel youth in underserved regions to be positive forces in their communities. Lisa has, throughout her career, dedicated herself to mentoring, advancing, and honoring others in the organizations in which she has worked. During her tenure at Deloitte, she created and led the creation of the career development function for its audit practice to support career advancement and growth of her colleagues. She also demonstrates her unwavering support of youth throughout the Bay Area in her work with the Giants Community Fund. Lisa's efforts in support of the next generation of leaders particularly resonates with FWSF which has, since 1985, been providing scholarships to San Francisco Bay Area women studying at colleges and universities across the Bay Area.

Lisa also shared her perspective on the importance of mentorship. "I've always had great mentors in my career at Deloitte and at the San Francisco Giants who were instrumental in my success. I believe that when you get good advice and guidance, it's your responsibility to pass it along. At Deloitte, I had the opportunity to help train, teach and influence women who would become leaders of the future. At the Giants, I've been able to continue mentoring and advising my colleagues as well as interns and college and high school students on their career paths and opportunities in Finance and related areas," she explained.

Sue English Mazzetti, FWSF's 2024 President and a Co-founder and Partner at Quorum Private Wealth, also shared her excitement regarding the FWSF's 2024 honoree, "Lisa Pantages' decades of providing leadership and mentorship to the Bay Area's financial community completely aligns to Financial Women of San Francisco's mission of paying it forward to the next generation of female leaders. Her exceptional professional success as a female leader in the Giants' organization, her passion for mentoring and supporting other women, and volunteerism as Treasurer of the Giants Community Fund, demonstrate Lisa's passion for lifting the community around her. We are thrilled to recognize Lisa's accomplishments by honoring her as our Financial Woman of the Year."

"I'm so thankful for this recognition from the Financial Women of San Francisco. I never expected to be able to combine my passion for Finance with my love of the game of baseball. It's certainly not something for which I ever expected to be honored. But this honor reinforces the importance of continuing to mentor and give back by paying it forward," Lisa said.

Former colleagues describe Lisa as a bundle of positive energy that absolutely lights up a room when she enters it. Teresa Bryce Bazemore, Inspiring Leader of FHLBank San Francisco, Named FWSF Financial Woman of the Year 2023

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF) today named Teresa Bryce Bazemore as the FWSF 2023 Financial Woman of the Year. Ms. Bazemore is the President and CEO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, whose mission is to provide its members with reliable access to low-cost liquidity, essential financial services and expertise, and resources for affordable housing and economic development. Teresa leads the cooperative FHLBank San Francisco in working with its member financial institutions to make the communities served more vibrant, equitable, and resilient.

Throughout her career, Teresa has been dedicated to strengthening communities and making a difference in people's lives. Early in her career, she served on a task force focused on increasing lending to low-to-moderate income people and people of color, an experience that sharpened her focus on expanding access to affordable housing and equitable homeownership opportunity. Teresa also encourages the next generation of leaders to explore career opportunities in the mortgage finance and affordable housing industries, because of how this work directly touches the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

Teresa also recognizes that her growth and career trajectory as a nationally recognized leader was influenced by many mentors and strong female role models. Teresa believes strongly in paying it forward and the FWSF shares Teresa's commitment to making an impact, to mentoring the next generation of leaders, and to advancing women. These are among the many reasons FWSF has named Teresa Bryce Bazemore its 2023 Financial Woman of the Year.

"I deeply appreciate being recognized by Financial Women of San Francisco, an organization that plays an important role in supporting women in my own organization as well as in the wider Bay Area financial services community," said Teresa Bryce Bazemore, president and CEO of FHLBank San Francisco. "It is an honor to be in the company of all the exceptional women leaders who have received this award in years past."

In addition to leading FHLBank San Francisco, Teresa serves on the Board of Directors of T. Rowe Price Funds and First Industrial Realty Trust. She has received many prestigious honors throughout her career. Most recently, during Women's History Month in March 2023 Teresa was highlighted as a "Woman Making History" for her work transcending barriers in the housing finance industry and creating a legacy for future generations. Teresa was named to Savoy magazine's 2022 list of Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America, which showcases executives, influencers, and achievers who demonstrate an exemplary record of accomplishments and influence while working to better their community and inspire others.

Denise Rigli, FWSF's 2023 President and a Partner at Armanino LLP, shared her excitement regarding this year's honoree, "As economic conditions continue to change and global events shape our financial environment, the world of lending can be a challenging one to navigate, especially for the low-to-moderate income community. It takes an outstanding leader to rise to these challenges and, through an unwavering commitment, make a positive impact on both people today and for generations to come. Teresa has focused her career on ensuring individuals and families have a place to call home and the opportunity to build wealth through homeownership. It is with great respect and admiration that we celebrate Teresa's outstanding accomplishments and honor her as this year's Financial Woman of the Year."

"At FHLBank San Francisco, we benefit as a business from building, nurturing, and leveraging a workforce that represents and reflects the wonderful diversity of the customers and communities we and our member financial institutions serve. The more diverse we are, the better we will be in the future," Bazemore says. "Women bring valuable perspectives to the table and while there has been progress in diversifying the financial sector, there is much work still to be done to achieve equitable representation at the C-level. I believe we have to be intentional about bringing more women into the industry and positioning them for success, which is why strong female role models, mentoring, educational and networking opportunities, and the scholarships that Financial Women of San Francisco provides are so important."

The Financial Woman of the Year award was established in 1996 to celebrate the organization's 40th anniversary. Past FWSF Presidents Leslie Miller and Shelly Porges created the Financial Woman of the Year event with the triple purpose of raising funds for FWSF's scholarship program, increasing awareness of FWSF, and honoring the careers of senior leaders in finance. Vistage Recognizes Marie DiSante with 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award

IRVINE, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- CDF Labor Law LLP (CDF) proudly congratulates Marie DiSante, Founding and Firm Managing Partner, for being named the recipient of the Vistage 2022 Orange County "Lifetime Achievement Award." Vistage is the world's largest CEO coaching and peer advisory organization for small and midsize businesses. The "Lifetime Achievement Award" honors members with a track record of bold decisions benefiting their companies, communities and beyond, and who are an inspiration to their Vistage peers.

Marie co-founded CDF back in 1994 when law firm leaders primarily were men, and at that time she vowed to mentor and create leadership positions for women and diverse attorneys. Almost 30 years later, she has done just that. She has been at the helm of the firm since its inception, and she and her partners have grown CDF to five offices spanning the state, and from six to close to 50 attorneys (69% of whom are women or diverse attorneys).

Marie's transformative leadership has been instrumental in establishing CDF's thriving and diverse culture and laying a solid foundation for the next generation of leadership. She has been continually recognized for advancing and empowering women and diverse attorneys in the legal industry.

In addition to Marie's passion and focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, Marie has honed her business acumen through Vistage and leaned into collaboration, fast decision-making, and conservative financial management to lead the firm's growth and success. She has guided CDF through its expansion, the recession in 2009, and the recent global COVID pandemic. Her advice for new leaders is to remain nimble in any type of leadership role. Her adaptability and forwarding thinking led CDF to offer flexible work schedules before remote work became prevalent during the pandemic.

Marie's Management Tips:

* Pencil out what needs to be done and how much it will cost; then double it. Cash is king.

* Don't micromanage - give others power to make decisions and to implement them.

* Recognize your strengths and then surround yourself with others who have different strengths to complement yours.

Marie's leadership in the business community shapes her value-driven counsel to employers of all sizes - from start-ups to Fortune 500 enterprises. A big believer in empowerment, Marie now is focused on transitioning CDF leadership to the next generation. "When you support individuals and teams and give them the tools to succeed, it leads to the overall success of an organization," said Marie DiSante.

Don't just take Vistage's and CDF's word for it. Hear directly from Marie via the following video link as she answers the following questions:

1 - One accomplishment she is particularly proud of.

2 - A leader experience that makes her smile.

3 - What leadership philosophy inspires her.

This year's award recognizes 31 women who rise above the rest to do more for their clients, serve as better mentors, and are committed to making the industry more welcoming through both traditional and creative ways. Mortgage Women Magazine selected this year's Mortgage Stars by analyzing each individual's accomplishments, their philosophies, the way they support those around them, and how they inspire others to better themselves.

Arshakian believes female mentors are critical to success, as they are "living proof that being a successful woman is achievable and that those who are driven should aim high."

Arshakian believes that initiative and self-motivation are the two most significant contributors to her success and encouraged women starting their careers in the mortgage industry to "find someone successful that you admire and ask how they got their start and what they did to become successful." Arshakian further emphasized that the significant change she'd like to see in the mortgage industry is more collaboration among secondary mortgage market leaders, investors, and technology platforms to enhance the user experience and offer more efficient processes industrywide.

Arshakian has over ten years of experience working in financial services and holds a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA. Arshakian's expertise lies in the areas of locking, pricing, data analysis, team leadership, mentoring, pipeline building, internal process creation, risk management, and auditing. Dream Big Darling Announces 2022 ‘FLOurish’ Program

PASO ROBLES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Dream Big Darling and The Millinger Group today announced, "FLOurish 2022," a personalized assessment program for emerging women leaders in the wine and spirits industry. Qualified individuals are now invited to apply for one of 17 FLOurish scholarships that provide full-ride access to this innovative coaching and mentorship experience.

The FLOurish program was launched last year and proved to be an immediate success. "We saw amazing results in our first year of this innovative program," said Amanda Wittstrom-Higgins, founder of Dream Big Darling. "It was such a joy to see our scholarship participants come out of this experience with so much hope and momentum."

The FLOurish scholarships were created by Wittstrom-Higgins and Rona Millinger, founder and president of The Millinger Group. Millinger originally developed the FLOurish program in honor of her professional mentor, Florence Pramberger, a former human resources leader for Seagram's, Beam and Mast-Jägermeister-where she was known as the "FLOmeister."

"I believe that personalized coaching and development programs are one of the most effective ways to develop the leaders of tomorrow," Millinger said. "The FLOurish program not only accelerates professional success - it fosters personal growth in a way that's as personal and unique as each participant."

Scholarships Now Open:

A minimum of 17 full-ride scholarships to FLOurish 2022 are available, providing access to 10 virtual coaching and assessment sessions. The program kicks off on July 12 and concludes with graduation in February 2023.

Applications can be made here - https://dream-big-darling.hiringthing.com/job/418429/2022-flourish-scholarship-provided-by-millinger-group-dream-big-darling

A full program outline can be viewed here (PDF) - https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5ad90e1e55b02cd8a7a15216/t/62624357494cd44f4e74e901/1650606936650/2022+FLOurish+Timeline+%26+Program.pdf

The value of each scholarship is $4,000.

Applications are open to women in the wine and spirits industry who are eager to learn, grow and make meaningful contributions to the industry. Applications must be submitted by May 31, 2022.

The graduates of last year's inaugural FLOurish program speak to the profound impact of the experience.

"I learned so many things about myself as a professional and how to apply those attributes to better myself and my career," said Caitlin Burdick, one of last year's FLOurish graduates. "The tools and insights I learned and developed are extremely valuable and are things that I will carry with me for years to come."

Added Marlena Blitz, another graduate, "The FLOurish scholarship was an invaluable growth tool that will teach me for years to come. I was able to feel confident in my potential, refine my processes and identify areas to become a more formidable leader in the industry."

A Winning Team:

This year also marks the second year of Mast-Jägermeister US's six-year investment totaling $340,000 to support FLOurish, another mark of Florence Pramberger's enduring legacy. "Florence left us too early after a fight with cancer," Millinger said. "I want to continue giving what Florence no longer can: coaching, development and guidance for women looking to contribute and advance in their work and personal lives."

Added Wittstrom-Higgins, "I wish that I had access to a program like this when I began my career, which is why I'm so excited that Mast-Jägermeister stepped up in such a big way to help us mentor the next generation of leaders in our industry."

Nancy Pfund, Pioneering Leader in Impact Investing, Named FWSF Financial Woman of the Year 2022

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF) today named Nancy Pfund, the Founder and Managing Partner of DBL Partners, as the FWSF 2022 Financial Woman of the Year. DBL Partners is one of the first venture capital firms to bring impact investing into the mainstream. Nancy and her colleagues launched DBL out of JP Morgan in 2008 after seeing increased momentum in the move to social and environmental impact. At DBL (standing for "Double Bottom Line"), Nancy and her team built a firm whose raison d'être is to foster investment with impact. The firm strives to optimize both financial return (First Bottom Line) and positive social impact, including social, environmental and economic benefits (Second Bottom Line) in the regions and sectors in which it invests. Nancy was an early investor in Tesla, SpaceX, SolarCity, and Pandora, among many others.

In addition to her innovation and leadership in building a clean energy future for the planet and putting social impact on the boardroom agenda, Nancy has consistently been an advocate for advancing the participation and leadership of women. Nancy firmly believes that the future will be brighter with a more diverse and representative workforce building it. FWSF shares Nancy's commitment to making an impact, increasing diversity, and advancing women-these are a few of the many reasons why Nancy is being honored by FWSF in 2022.

"Building my finance career in San Francisco over the years," says Nancy, "I have always been struck by the abundance of professional women who lead not only in their own fields, but in proactively helping other women advance in theirs. The Financial Women of San Francisco organization has played a key role in highlighting the importance and accomplishments of Bay Area women in finance, and I am honored to join the ranks of outstanding women who have won this award before me."

Melissa Maquilan Radic, the 2022 President of FWSF and Managing Director of Investor Relations & Capital Markets at IMPACT Community Capital, LLC is particularly excited about this year's honoree. "Nancy Pfund was a leader in the impact investing space long before this type of investing gained the widespread recognition it has today. She is a champion of social and environmental change, both personally and professionally, and is an inspiring role model for women who want to lead in the investment management or impact space. We are so proud to grant Nancy our highest honor and look forward to sharing her insights with the FWSF community."

"When I first started my impact investing journey, it was a lonely place to be," Nancy explained, "Undaunted, and determined to bring the worlds of finance, investment and social and environmental progress together, I relied on the support of early adopters willing to bet on me and on this new vision. Many of these early adopters were women, and women continue to lead in impact today. FWSF embodies the spirit of impact-and its benefits-by steadfastly lifting women up and passing the baton to younger women through its scholarship program that creates the next generation of financial women leaders."

The Financial Woman of the Year award was established in 1996 to celebrate the organization's 40th anniversary. Past FWSF Presidents Leslie Miller and Shelly Porges created the Financial Woman of the Year event with the triple purposes of raising funds for FWSF's scholarship program, increasing awareness of FWSF, and celebrating the careers of senior leaders in finance. Since then, it has provided a platform for high-achieving honorees to share their professional experience with others and to inspire other women in their own careers and ambitions. Nancy joins a distinguished list of former honorees including Jenny Johnson, CEO of Franklin Templeton, Terri Kallsen, Chief Operating Officer at Wealth Enhancement Group, Heidi Roizen, Partner at Threshold Ventures; Robin Washington, former chief financial officer (CFO) of Gilead; Debbie Messemer, former managing partner of KPMG's Bay Area Market; Carrie Dolan, CFO of Kraken Digital Asset Exchange; Sarah Friar, CEO of Next Door and former CFO of Square; and Pat Yarrington, former CFO of Chevron.

The Black Women Behind The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama

There is a reason Birmingham, AL is called The Magic City /ScoopCloud/ -- ome may say it's because of breathtaking, rust-stained Red Mountain that sits in the heart of the metro area. Or maybe it's the unique presence of coal, iron ore, and limestone in the soil that established the city's rich history of mining and steel production. But those who live there know the true magic in The Magic City is found in its people and the diversity, culture, and creativity they embody. The city's support for women and inclusion is why The World Games 2022 (TWG 2022) committee announced the selection of three exceptional black businesswomen - Kathy Boswell, Pam Cook, and Rashada LeRoy - to head the planning, promotion, and production of the international multi-sports event.

A decision that couples The Magic City with a little Black Girl Magic to bring in an estimated economic impact of $256 million.

Read Birmingham Time's article: "Meet The Most Prominent Team Behind The World Games 2022" - https://www.birminghamtimes.com/2022/03/meet-the-birmingham-dream-team-behind-the-world-games-2022/

Vice president of community relations for the Games, Kathy Boswell, oversees the recruitment of volunteers and spearheads several key programs; Pam Cook, director of multicultural marketing and community affairs for Coca-Cola UNITED's Central Region, is the chief marketing officer; and Rashada LeRoy, alongside her company LRY Media Group, is producing the opening and closing ceremonies and managing The World Games Plaza. Together, these women are building a foundation for leading and leveraging an event of this magnitude.

"Birmingham is rich in history and progressive in inclusiveness," said Cook. "Women, especially black women, are at the forefront of growth in the city. It's humbling to work alongside these very talented ladies who refuse to compete with one another for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We're ready to welcome the world to Birmingham."

The World Games 2022 (TWG 2022), an 11-day event, follows the Summer Olympic Games every four years. The 2022 event will mark the eleventh World Games and only the second time in history it is held on U.S. soil. In 1981, the first U.S. event took place in Santa Clara, CA. This year's Games will be held in Birmingham from July 7-17, where over 600 medals will be awarded to more than 3,500 elite athletes. Sports fans will convene in Alabama and experience the magic and southern hospitality Birmingham is known for.

Stacy Mayer’s Book Reveals How Powerhouse Corporate Women Get Promoted to The Executive Suite

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- In 2018, less than 10% of senior executives at the world's largest Fortune 500 companies were women. But it wasn't from lack of trying. Women were becoming better managers, but still weren't getting promoted to executive leadership positions. Stacy Mayer took on this problem as a personal challenge. She vowed to change the way organizations did business from the C-Suite out and she set about doing it, one executive-level promotion at a time.

To achieve her goal, the number of women promoted to the executive suite each year needed to double. It seemed like an impossible challenge. With so many systemic factors at play, how could she tackle this gigantic global challenge and disrupt the status quo?

Stacy knew there was only one way to bring more diversity to the leadership table: more women needed to get themselves promoted. But first, she needed to figure out what was really standing in their way and what they could do about it.

"These are powerful corporate leaders who are otherwise successful, but their pay didn't match their titles. They didn't have a proper voice at the table. That didn't sit well with me," says Mayer.

THE REAL REASON WOMEN AREN'T GETTING PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

Stacy uncovered the real reason women didn't receive the promotions that matched their capabilities. They were too good at their job.

Instead of focusing on letting their work speak for itself, powerhouse women needed to take ownership of their promotion process, take steps to pioneer their next promotion and stop waiting for their boss's approval or next performance review.

Stacy says that your organization shouldn't dictate your next promotion - you should. "A promotion is not a reward for your hard work. Corporate leaders need to understand that the right time and the right place aren't something that just happens to you. It is something that you create. You don't need to wait for your next performance review to get promoted. You can take the steps to get yourself set up now."

HOW DO POWERHOUSE WOMEN GET PROMOTED TO THE EXECUTIVE SUITE?

Stacy's alternative approach to executive coaching got her clients big results right out of the gate. Within six months of implementing her new strategies, three of Stacy's clients got promoted into C-Suite positions.

How did she do it? She ignores traditional executive coaching and takes a non-conventional approach to women's leadership. She gives controversial advice like "Stop doing what you're good at" and "If you really want a promotion, don't focus on your boss".

Stacy tested her theories in her flagship executive coaching intensive "Executive Ahead Of Time."

And led women to achieve executive level promotions at prestigious companies like Facebook, Intel, Home Depot, Comcast, Nike, and more. Approximately one hundred women (and counting) landed or set themselves up for their next promotion. 25% of her clients received skip-level or double promotions within six months. And after their promotions, women exceeded their company's expectations of what's possible in their new executive level roles.

She adds, "I want powerhouse corporate women to realize that their organization needs them more in the C-Suite than they need them. No kudos, thank you. Show me the money!"

HOW DO YOU DOUBLE THE NUMBER OF WOMEN PROMOTED TO THE C-SUITE EACH YEAR?

Stacy knew that in order to double the number of women promoted to the C-Suite, she needed to reach women worldwide, faster. And so she wrote the bestselling book "Promotions Made Easy."

Her book turns the confusing process of executive promotions into a clear step-by-step guide. It shows women how to get their first promotion into a leadership position and to keep the promotions and success coming.

She adds, "The steps outlined in my book will get you promoted."

The instant bestseller is helping women get promoted to the executive suite, have success once they get there, and receive the pay to match.

"Women are the new definition of power in leadership. And they don't need to wait for anyone."

As Heather P says on Stacy's Amazon reviews, "It works! I received a title and salary boost. And the promotions kept coming!"

Stacy's book is changing the way organizations do business from the C-Suite out. And she's only just begun.

"Promotions Made Easy: A Step-by-Step Guide to the Executive Suite" is endorsed by:

* John Gray: bestselling relationship author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.

* Trudy Bourgeois: Author of "Equality" and CEO of The Center for Workforce Excellence.

* Minette Norman: inclusive leadership consultant and the former Vice President of Engineering at Autodesk.

* Scott Jeffrey Miller: Senior Advisor for Thought Leadership at Franklin Covey and host of the world's largest leadership podcast, On Leadership.

* Eleanor Beaton: CEO of SAFI Media

Forbes wrote an article about the book and rave reviews continue to pour in.

The New York Milk Bank Announces Appointment of New Executive Director, Linda Harelick, MBA, DrPH

VALHALLA, N.Y. /ScoopCloud/ -- The New York Milk Bank (NYMB), founded six years ago, today announced the appointment of its new Executive Director, Linda Harelick, MBA, DrPH. Established in 2016, NYMB was founded by Julie Bouchet-Horwitz, NP and four other dedicated women with the purpose of providing life-saving donor human milk for premature and sick infants. Since its inception, through the generosity of milk donors, NYMB has dispensed nearly 1,000,000 ounces of pasteurized donor human milk to hospitals for infants throughout the tri-state area. In addition to hospitals, NYMB has also been able to provide for full-term healthy infants without access to their own mother's breast milk.

"Given our tremendous growth over the past five years and the increasing demand for donor human milk, we are ready to take the organization to the next level and pass the baton to Dr. Linda Harelick. She comes to us with a wealth of experience from both the private and non-profit sectors. Her passion, background, and knowledge will be a tremendous asset to NYMB," stated Bouchet-Horwitz.

Bouchet-Horwitz will remain the President of the NYMB Board of Directors as well as the Tissue Bank Director in order to continue the milk bank's vision and purpose, while returning to her private breastfeeding practice full time.

Harelick's interest in social impact stems from her early work as a registered dietitian seeing first-hand how environmental, cultural, and societal factors influenced one's health. With ambitions to transition to management, she received an MBA from Columbia Business School. This led to a career at Kraft Foods, overseeing strategic planning and marketing for Maxwell House Coffee and Post Cereal, culminating in leading Global Consumer Services. With a desire to return to the work of health promotion, she received a doctorate in public health from New York Medical College and became director of operations and communications at ChildObesity180 at Tufts University. Here she combined her management expertise with public health knowledge to accelerate the transformation of a start-up nonprofit to a leading organization in childhood obesity prevention. Continuing her focus on improving health outcomes of children and families, she moved to Harlem Children's Zone, where she was charged with replicating the successful Healthy Harlem program in multiple communities throughout the country.

"I am beyond excited and honored for the opportunity to lead such an important organization as The New York Milk Bank. My career spans several sectors and by blending my public health knowledge and my business expertise, the already impressive growth that the milk bank has achieved will be accelerated. I look forward to engaging with staff, donors, the board, and volunteers to ensure that infants in need receive safely pasteurized donor human milk and are able to reach their full potential," remarked Linda.

ABOUT THE NEW YORK MILK BANK

The New York Milk Bank (NYMB) is a non-profit organization that collects extra breast milk from healthy lactating women. The milk is then pasteurized and distributed to babies in need throughout the Tri-State area. Since opening in 2016, NYMB has screened over 4500 donors and distributed nearly 1,000,000 ounces of donor milk. NYMB is dedicated to improving the health and survival of infants in need by ensuring the quality and availability of pasteurized donor human milk if mother's own milk is unavailable or insufficient. We are committed to reducing health disparities by advocating for the use and reimbursement of donor milk.

While most mothers of newborns produce enough milk, mothers of premature and sick infants often have difficulty providing adequate amounts of milk. The use of pasteurized donor human milk from mothers who produce more than is needed for their own children is recommended by the World Health Organization, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Surgeon General, and the NYS Commissioner of Health.

Mortgage Professional America Honors Lori Johnson of DocMagic with 2021 Elite Women in Mortgage Award

TORRANCE, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- DocMagic, Inc., the premier provider of fully-compliant loan document preparation, regulatory compliance, and comprehensive eMortgage services, announced that its director of client services, Lori Johnson, has received the 2021 Elite Women in Mortgage award from Mortgage Professional America (MPA).

Now in its fifth year, MPA's Elite Women award celebrates the outstanding achievements of women that work in the mortgage industry. MPA created the award to recognize the exceptional work of women whose efforts and contributions are paving the way for future generations. The award largely looks back at recent accomplishments that are having a positive effect on the mortgage industry.

"Being recognized alongside other accomplished females that are doing exceptional things for the industry is a huge honor for me," stated Johnson. "For years, the outstanding team I work with at DocMagic has been moving mountains to help lenders, settlement providers, investors, and other relevant parties automate manual workflows and remove paper from antiquated processes. I thank the judges at MPA for their research and the hard work of my entire team for making this accolade a reality."

MPA's judges were impressed with Lori's roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style that places the company and customer first, making excellence in service her primary focus. She works passionately and tirelessly to ensure that complex and precision-based eClosing and digital mortgage technology implementations are executed flawlessly, delivering a level of customer satisfaction that lenders and partners rave about.

In particular, Lori is credited with helping DocMagic's lender clients achieve a huge uptick in growth - via eClosing technology. First, the remote implementation model she oversaw was wildly successful in helping lenders clients to go live without disruption to operations during and after the pandemic.

Second, she successfully transitioned her entire team virtually overnight to a work-from-home (WFH) environment where they were able to execute tasks just as effectively as when they were at DocMagic's headquarters.

Of note is that Lori's efforts helped DocMagic land on the 2021 Inc. 5000 list, with a 67 percent three-year growth rate from 2017 to 2020. More and more lenders in the mortgage industry are now seeing the immense value of automating the closing process from start to finish. This has helped tremendously with adoption of this component of the digital mortgage workflow --- fully paperless closings.

DocMagic will close 2021 out with another banner year in sales, new client implementations, solution enhancements, seamless integrations, and more. Company officials say 2022 will be another strong year for technology innovation in the mortgage industry.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Legacy Launch Pad Publishing is releasing the first book by angel investor, CPA, Columbia Business School alumni, non-profit founder and podcaster Mimi MacLean. "How to Be a Badass Female CEO: Slay the Competition and Reach the Top" (ISBN: 978-1951407681) is designed to help women succeed in male-dominated roles, whether that means founding a company, getting venture funding or working their way to CEO. MacLean seamlessly weaves her personal experiences as a high-powered investment banker, former buyer at Bloomingdale's, angel investor, founder of three companies and mother of five into this guide for the female CEOs of tomorrow.

She offers sage advice, unabashedly shares her mistakes along the way and asks useful questions that will serve as a guidebook on building a successful company from the ground up regardless of the industry. NEW YORK, N.Y. /ScoopCloud/ -- Malla Haridat is an entrepreneur and author who has used all possible platforms to advocate for women empowerment. In line with her goal to help people develop an entrepreneurial mindset, Malla is set to speak at the WE NYC Conference: 10 Ways to Uncover New Business Opportunity. The virtual conference is part of the Celebrate Small Business in Brooklyn series, organized in partnership with the Brooklyn Public Library, NYWIB, and SCORE.

"I have delivered hundreds of hours of workshops and training to entrepreneurs. I want to help those entrepreneurs who genuinely care to find ways to crush their sales in the process by learning the right questions to ask their prospective clients and internally within their businesses," said Malla Haridat.
