AMI Expeditionary Healthcare to partner with Pennsylvania to disseminate 94,600 COVID-19 vaccines to schoolteachers

The Wolf Administration is collaborating with Intermediate Units (IUs) and other education partners to equitably vaccinate all school employees and contracted staff as quickly as possible.

"The approval of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine provides a great opportunity to launch this special initiative to vaccinate all teachers, child care workers and school staff without interrupting the flow of vaccine local providers have already administered to more than 1.8 million Pennsylvanians," said Acting Secretary of Health Alison Beam.

Allocations received by Pennsylvania from the federal government will be distributed to each IU based on the proportion of Pre-K to 12 public and non-public school employees and contracted staff in each IU's region.

Child care workers will be contacted by one of the local Retail Pharmacy Program partners - Rite Aid, Topco and Walmart - to schedule vaccinations using the additional, separate allocations of Johnson & Johnson vaccine they will receive from the federal government.

The rollout begins Wednesday in two locations with scores of others opening over the next few days. The sites will likely support up to 500 doses a day, with some of the sites being able to administer up to 1,000 doses a day. The full operation should take between eight and 10 days.

"I am grateful to Governor Wolf and the Legislative Task Force for making educators a priority for the Johnson and Johnson vaccine," said Acting Secretary of Education Noe Ortega. "After a year of unprecedented educational shifts and tensions, we are closer to relieving some constraints and increasing access to in-person learning opportunities, services, programs, and supports that will positively impact entire communities."

It's important to note that Philadelphia is not included in these allocations, because Philadelphia County is a separate vaccine jurisdiction.

There will be at least one vaccination site per IU region. School staff will be directed to the vaccination site in the region within which their school is located. Almost all previous work on HLA sensitized individuals has relied upon assays that detect circulating anti-HLA antibodies. The goal is to determine the reactivities of HLA-reactive B cells in these sensitized patients and compare these reactivities to those that are present among circulating anti-HLA antibodies. Using panels of biotinylated HLA molecules in combination with various tetramerized fluorescent reagents allows the interrogation of the specific B cell receptors expressed by HLA-reactive B cells.

"Prevention of B cell activation and proliferation is crucial for the survival of a transplant patient. For patient monitoring, identifying the right approach to immune profiling at each stage of clinical development-including the later stages, when it is often considered impractical to include these approaches-may be critical for identifying predictors of rejection responses, or monitoring immunosuppression efficacy", said Dr. Buchli. "Flow cytometric analysis using our fluorescent tagged HLA products have the capabilities needed to meet the increased demands to detect, identify, and monitor HLA-specific memory B cells."

"Our research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks to improve the success of organ transplants," said John Killian, Jr., M.D., a research resident in the UAB Department of Surgery. "One problem is that following pregnancy or transplant, patients form antibodies against non-self HLA molecules. These antibodies comprise a major barrier to transplantation, and they exacerbate gender and racial disparities for thousands of people who await a life-saving transplant. * CoC Standards - Fulfills the synoptic operative reporting requirements for the Commission on Cancer 2020 operative standards 5.3 through 5.6.

* American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) TNM Staging System - TNM categories are incorporated into any data fields related to staging.

* National Cancer Database (NCDB) Codes - Select NCDB codes and definitions from the Standards for Oncology Registry Entry (STORE) manual that are relevant to the data fields in the app.

* EHR Integration - eDocSS uses SMART on FHIR and will be integrated with top EHR vendors. This application is not a standalone app, but rather uses Single Sign On (SSO) and embeds inside the workflow of the EHR.

Furthermore, PTS will provide biotinylated sHLA for memory b-cell detection and characterization. Researchers hope that the results of the study will lead to a better understanding of immune tolerance, extend the duration of suppression of HLA-specific responses by Tregs and ultimately produce state-of-the-art immune therapeutics to control rejection.

The authors found that patients with post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome, a subset of PLD, had a distinct microbiome signature, allowing for an accurate classification of over 80% of analyzed cases. Importantly, this signature supports the validity of PLD and is the first potential biological diagnostic tool for the disease.

The trial, whose first phase is expected to be completed in the fall of 2021, aims to evaluate the effect of ESCM in cases of heart failure. Forty-five patients who suffered from acute myocardial infarction will be randomly distributed into three groups: i) STEMREGEN® alone, ii) injection of stem cells (SVF), and iii) combined consumption of STEMREGEN® and stem cell injection. The dietary supplement will be provided at a dose of 2 capsules three times a day for 3 to 6 months. Study participants will be evaluated after 1, 3, 6 and 12 months, at which times their NYHA functional classification and echocardiographic parameters will be assessed. The first phase will begin with 15 patients.
