AquaSonic Wave Adds Sparkle to Daytime Emmy Awards

Dean Kamen and David Bellman

LOS ANGELES, Calif., April 15, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- This year's Daytime Emmy's stars will walk away with trophies and accolades as well as learning about a revolutionary new invention, The AquaSonic Wave. Co-created by Dean Kamen, creator of the Segway, and Master Jeweler David Bellman, the AquaSonic Wave provides a novel, time-effective way to keep diamonds and other precious jewelry sparkling like new.

Celebrities at the 42nd annual Daytime Emmy(R) Awards will be introduced to the AquaSonic Wave at the event and many of the VIPs will receive their own personal units as gifts. The show takes place Sunday, April 26, 2015, and is being held on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, Calif. Hosted by Tyra Banks, it will be broadcast live on poptv.com.

Just picked up by high-end retailer Brookstone, the AquaSonic Wave system is rapidly garnering favorable attention from those in the know in the jewelry business.

"You see, the dirty little secret of the industry is that most people's jewelry is very dirty," Bellman states. "It also is a prime carrier of bacteria at a level so high that it can create a serious health hazard for people in their personal and public lives. The AquaSonic Wave introduces an inexpensive, cost effective way to clean jewelry at the professional level, right in the comfort of your home," Bellman adds.

"I've owned one of the top 50 jewelry stores in America for over thirty years," Bellman notes. "I've always been amazed at how much my customer's jewelry was in need of professional level cleaning. Dean Kamen and I used all of our combined expertise and experiences to come up with a modern, usable approach to cleaning diamonds and other precious jewelry. The AquaSonic Wave is a game changer."

Bellman will be in attendance at the Daytime Emmys to help explain and service the gifting to Emmy winners and nominees. "I'm coming from the snowy East Coast to enjoy the California sunshine and help share the ASW with the stars of television. It should be sparkling, clean fun."

Internet of Things (IoT) Presents Threat to Aviation Safety, According to Cybersecurity Expert

George M. Schu

ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 14, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The emerging Internet of Things (IoT) will expose the global aviation industry to vulnerabilities at a level never before seen and will have a transformative impact on the industry, according to George M. Schu, a cybersecurity strategist with Stangarone & Associates, a Washington D.C.-based consultancy.

According to Schu, "While the IoT promises to introduce enormous efficiencies and enhancements to aviation just as it is to other market segments, malware, or malicious software, is used by hackers with intent to disrupt operations, steal proprietary information, or compromise privacy."

"The aviation industry is five times more likely to be exposed to malware. Theft of customer data, intellectual property, and airfreight data are likely top motivations for targeting users in the aviation industry," he said.

The IoT enables automated communications between machines. The term IoT can include the type of Radio Frequency Identification tags that businesses place on products in stores to monitor inventory; the Smart Grid, which modernizes the electrical grid by harnessing digital technologies; and Internet-connected jet engines and drills on oil rigs.

"Indeed, there are great benefits to be realized for aviation with IoT -- more efficient aircraft routing, enhanced traveller experience, leveraging the sharing economy and an increased number of aircraft in a more connected ecosystem of aviation," he said, "but aviation leaders need to be cautious about how it is implemented."

A report released this January by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) addresses the security and privacy issues related to the IoT. Though this report is primarily focused on the impact of the IoT on the security and privacy in the consumer market, it raises issues that pertain to other markets such as transportation and aviation.

"We are at the beginning of the IoT era. The FTC reports that six years ago, for the first time, the number of things connected to the Internet surpassed the number of people. Estimates are that there will be 25 billion connected devices this year, and by 2020 there will be 50 billion. Related to the IoT phenomenon is the growth of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) connections," he said.

Three and one-half billion sensors are already in the marketplace, and the expectation is that number will increase to trillions within the next decade. Schu said the confluence of IoT and M2M connections is staggering to contemplate. Both will drive new innovation and economies across market verticals.

In the current Annual Security Report issued by CISCO, aviation is cited in the top five market verticals most vulnerable to malware exposure.

Schu believes that aviation leaders need to ensure that standards for IoT implementation and security are adopted and strictly used, not just for the aviation industry itself, but for its partners and suppliers as well. "Your suppliers can become your weakest link," he said.

About George M. Schu:

George Schu is a cybersecurity strategist with Stangarone & Associates, an aerospace and aviation consultancy based in Washington D.C. Schu served as a Booz Allen Hamilton Partner and Senior Vice President for seven years. He provided data integrity solutions for a large multinational financial services company and delivered regular in-person reports to the Board of Directors. He led an initiative to help the electrical utilities industry understand cyber vulnerabilities to the electric grid. He also led multiple businesses supporting Departments of Homeland Security, Justice and other U.S. civilian agencies' cybersecurity missions.

Before joining Booz Allen, Schu was at VeriSign where he was Vice President, Public Sector, responsible for building a new sales group from the ground up. He led sales, consulting services and business development teams that accounted for substantial growth of VeriSign's information security business. He was also responsible for M&A efforts at VeriSign aimed at growing the government market business. He conducted search and due diligence of technology companies to take VeriSign business to the next level. Prior to VeriSign, Schu worked for Oracle Corporation where he led a team focused on growing Oracle Information Security solutions in various enterprises. He had a track record of successfully creating demand for Oracle products through innovative marketing, solution selling and thought leadership.

Book About Band of Yanks Saving Millions from Starvation Garners National Recognition

Behind the Lines

DENVER, Colo., April 13, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- "Most new print books die an anonymous death," says Milbrown Press publisher and author, Jeffrey B. Miller. "That's not surprising when reportedly more than 600,000 new print books are released every year. But 'Behind the Lines' (ISBN: 978-0990689300) has beaten those obscurity odds."

Recognitions for "Behind the Lines: WWI's little-known story of German occupation, Belgian resistance, and the band of Yanks who helped save millions from starvation" include: Kirkus Reviews' Best Books of 2014 (Indie) and a Kirkus Starred Review; history finalist in Foreword Reviews' INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards (winners June 26); finalist in the 67th Colorado Authors League Awards (winners May 8); and positive reviews from Publishers Weekly, Foreword magazine, Denver Post, and Westword. Miller has also been a guest on Sirius radio's talk show, "Get it Right with Margaret Hoover."

"Behind the Lines" tells the story of one of the largest food relief efforts the world has ever seen, and one of America's finest hours that few Americans know about. During World War I, the Commission for Relief in Belgium (CRB) fed every day for four years more than 9 million Belgians and northern French who were trapped behind German lines.

The British insisted neutral American observers, or CRB "delegates," be allowed into German occupied Belgium to supervise the shipments and guarantee the Germans didn't take the food. The first CRB delegates were young Rhodes scholars on Christmas break from Oxford University and had to maintain strict neutrality as they watched the Belgians suffer under the harsh totalitarian rule.

Ultimately, the CRB changed the way Americans saw themselves and how the world saw America.

"Behind the Lines" is a nonfiction history written for general readers. It follows a handful of CRB delegates, a 22-year-old Belgian woman, two U.S. diplomats, the head of the CRB, and two Belgians - a businessman and a priest - who team up to fight the German occupation.

"Behind the Lines" is available in print ($16.95) and eBook ($9.99) and is available in bookstores, Amazon.com, Ingram and direct from the publisher.

Four Seasons Compassion For Life Awarded Advanced Certification for Home Care from The Joint Commission

Laura Lambert

FLAT ROCK, N.C., April 9, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Four Seasons Compassion For Life today announces that it has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval(R) for Home Care. The award recognizes Four Seasons has met the rigorous criteria of nationally recognized and endorsed home care standards through the accreditation process.

The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval(R) is one of the more difficult accreditations to attain, according to Four Seasons' Chief Executive Officer Chris Comeaux. The accreditation offers assurance of the safe, high quality care, treatment and services Four Seasons provides to its patients, families, and community.

"At Four Seasons, the exceptional care of our patients always comes first," says Comeaux. "The commitment of our staff at Four Seasons is in large part responsible for this important benchmark, and I congratulate each individual who had part in this achievement."

Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission has a long and respected history of driving health care toward better outcomes. Today, it remains the nation's oldest and largest standards setting body in health care, accrediting and certifying more than 20,500 health care organizations and programs in the United States.

"Accreditation from The Joint Commission offers assurance that Four Seasons is continuously engaged in assessing and improving the quality of its services and outcomes," says Laura Lambert, quality and compliance director.

To receive accreditation, she explains, Four Seasons submitted to a rigorous review of processes and outcomes. First, the agency provided evidence of compliance with 845 standards in 15 areas, including performance improvement, leadership, provision of care, treatment, services, and environment of care. The summative evaluative survey included live on-site reviews, documentation, and visits to patients and families. The results were conclusive; accreditation was confirmed in a March 31 letter from Mark Pelletier, the commission's chief operating officer, thanking the organization for its participation in the accreditation process.

Lambert described the process as challenging, yet rewarding.

"Surveyors actually observed the staff taking care of patients and followed up with reviews of the clinical documentation," says Lambert. "Thanks to our ongoing emphasis on quality, safety, and performance improvement, out of the 845 standards, we had only three non-critical corrections to make. We're very proud of that standing."

Zofran Birth Defect Cases Being Accepted by Weitz and Luxenberg

consumer protection law

NEW YORK, N.Y., April 7, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C., announced it is accepting cases of congenital heart defects and cleft facial abnormalities in children whose mothers took the prescription drug Zofran during pregnancy to relieve symptoms of morning sickness.

Zofran - generic name ondansetron - has never been approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for treatment of morning sickness symptoms and medical studies have linked Zofran use during the first trimester of pregnancy to birth defects, the law firm said.

Weitz & Luxenberg added that approximately 1 million women take Zofran or ondansetron each year to relieve the symptoms of morning sickness, specifically nausea and vomiting.

Zofran is FDA-approved for use by cancer patients to prevent the nausea and/or vomiting that can accompany chemotherapy and that can occur after an operation, the firm explained.

However, Zofran has not been approved by the FDA to prevent or treat morning sickness in pregnant women.

Zofran Maker Accused by U.S. Justice Dept.:

In 2012, the manufacturer of Zofran - pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline - paid a fine of $1 billion as part of a settlement of claims brought by the U.S. Department of Justice, Weitz & Luxenberg said.

The Justice Department claimed, among other things, that GlaxoSmithKline illegally promoted certain forms of Zofran for the treatment of morning sickness in pregnant women, and paid doctors to promote and prescribe Zofran, the firm indicated.

Despite that settlement, GlaxoSmithKline still faces civil liability. Weitz & Luxenberg said it is moving forward with efforts to hold GlaxoSmithKline accountable by accepting cases where women who took Zofran in the first trimester of pregnancy gave birth to children with congenital heart defects and/or cleft lip, cleft palate or both.

Free Consultation For Zofran Birth Defect Victims:

The law firm said Zofran victims can contact Weitz & Luxenberg for a no-cost, no-obligation discussion of their legal rights to compensation from Zofran's maker.

The free consultation can be arranged by contacting Weitz & Luxenberg toll-free at 844-400-HELP or online at www.weitzlux.com, the firm said.

In addition to wanting to hear from mothers who took Zofran, Weitz & Luxenberg also expressed interest in exploring the legal rights of men and women born with a potentially Zofran-related birth defect who this year are between the ages of 18 and 24.

About Weitz & Luxenberg:

Weitz & Luxenberg P.C. is among the nation's leading and most readily recognized personal injury and consumer protection law firms. Weitz & Luxenberg's numerous litigation areas include: mesothelioma, defective medicine and devices, environmental pollutants, products liability, consumer protection, accidents, personal injury, and medical malpractice. Monrovia High School Robotics Team Advances to 2015 FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship for Second Year in a Row

Kings and Queens robotics team

MONROVIA, Calif., April 7, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Monrovia High Robotics Program announced today that the ten Monrovia High School students of the "Kings and Queens" robotics team and their purple robot "Sir Lancelot" qualified to advance to the 2015 FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics World Championships for a second year in a row as a result of their excellent performance at the West Super-Regional Robotics Tournament held in Oakland March 26-28.

The tournament brought together 72 champion teams who were winners at state and regional competitions held in 13 western states. The Kings and Queens will be among the 128 top teams from around the world to compete at the World Championships which will be held at the historic Union Station in St. Louis April 22-25. Only 42 teams who competed in last year's World Championship earned the right to come back again this year.

The Kings and Queens team, four seniors, one sophomore and five freshmen, designed and built their own 18 by 18 inch robot from t-slot channel, Plexiglas, and formed aluminum to compete in the annual FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics competition. Each year FTC creates a new game challenge and teams build a new robot to accomplish the requirements of that season's game. This season's challenge is to gather up hollow "wiffle" baseballs and golf balls from the playing field and fill goals made of vertical plastic tubes up to four feet high while never touching the tubes themselves.

The Kings and Queens are well known in the FTC community for their driving skill, unique robot designs, their signature costumes of purple velvet gold-embroidered renaissance dresses and gold tiaras for the girls and fur-trimmed black velvet jerkins with purple capes and gold crowns for the boys, and for their supporter's cheer of "Huzzah!" whenever they score points.

Team Captain Melissa Johnson commented, "We are so excited to advance to the World Championship, and very proud to represent both our school and the entire Southern California FIRST Tech Challenge region."

This marks the second trip to the world championships for Monrovia High School's five-year-old FTC robotics program which fields five student robotics teams supported by company sponsors, community donations, and parents, and is led by physics teacher Tom Dobson. The Monrovia High School robotics program is actively seeking tax-deductible donations and company sponsorships to help cover the approximate $12,000 cost of taking the team to St. Louis.

Donations may be made through the team's GoFundMe page at http://www.gofundme.com/kingsandqueens2015.

"The DualWing is the Swiss Army knife of RFID that delivers maximum utility to organizations with minimal impact to existing systems."

DualWing tag customers can expect to gain the following benefits:

Versatility. DualWing tags utilize a single chip sharing common memory blocks and the same unique ID allowing for information to be shared or updated by both UHF and NFC devices.

Performance. The UHF function of the DualWing allows for the longer read ranges and faster read/write cycles required of asset tracking and logistical applications while the NFC features allow for robust functionality and marketing applications using smartphones or near-field scanners.

PETERSBURG, Fla., April 2, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- As the U.S. takes a major step toward reaching a full agreement with Iran over its nuclear program, artist Daniel Edwards has created a "treason monument," featuring a bust of Senator Tom Cotton, as a protest to the "apathy of the American people" regarding the 47 Senate Republicans who sent the unauthorized letter, at Cotton's behest, to Iranian leadership that undermined the U.S. negotiations, to be unveiled later this month by Cory Allen Contemporary Art.

The monument, "Treason Memorial: The Portrait of Tom Cotton," as described by Cory Allen Contemporary Art, "is designed to combat domestic complacency and depicts the life-size head of Arkansas Republican Tom Cotton looking seditiously ahead, beneath the looming representation of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, who appears to have a sly and divisive smile. Etched below is a 'U.S. seal of treason,' featuring the bald eagle, scornful and glaring with its back turned away, accompanied by text which describes the offense committed by the 47 senators. The back of the monument lists all of the signing senators by name for posterity."

"According to The Logan Act, these senators committed treason, but will likely not be held accountable, which is why this monument needs to exist," said spokesman Cory Allen, citing the federal law forbidding any U.S. citizen acting without official authority from influencing disputes or controversies with a foreign government.

"I felt compelled to create this memorial to never forget the senators who potentially damaged the U.S. over affairs as sensitive as nuclear arms in the Middle East. I hope we can resolve to be less apathetic about such unlawful misrepresentation," said artist Daniel Edwards.

Other works by Edwards include "Landmark for Peace: The Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy Memorial" located in Indianapolis, and The Hudson Institute's James Doolittle Award, presented at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., of which Henry Kissinger, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld have been some of its recipients.

"Treason Memorial: The Portrait of Tom Cotton," will open to the public at CACA's The Showroom, the world's first public relations gallery, located in the Warehouse Arts District in St. Petersburg, Fla. on April 24, 2015. Contact Cory Allen at 323-393-3115 or visit http://www.cacanet.com/ .

Market Showing Increasing Signs of Strengthening, Says Veros’ Latest 12-Month Forecast Update

VeroFORECAST

SANTA ANA, Calif., April 2, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Veros Real Estate Solutions (Veros), an award-winning industry leader in enterprise risk management, collateral valuation services and predictive analytics, reports that the residential market is gaining momentum with a greater percentage of markets expected to increase in value over the next 12 months, moving upwards to 86% from last quarter's 82%. The latest VeroFORECAST also found two interesting market areas, one on each coast, that reflect both the predicted top and bottom growth areas in the residential market.

The national forecast grew to +3.2% annual appreciation, increasing over the previous VeroFORECAST rate of 2.4%. It is the eleventh consecutive quarter in which the index has shown forecast appreciation, with the pace now indicating an upward trend. This insight comes from the company's most recent VeroFORECAST, a national real estate market forecast for the 12-month period ending March 1, 2016, updated quarterly and covering 967 counties, 333 metro areas, and 13,549 zip codes.

Reminiscent of Dickens' classic story, VeroFORECAST revealed a "Tale of Two Coasts" in the forecast's top and bottom residential markets. Six out of the "Top 10" appreciating markets are located within a 75-mile radius in the Bay Area of California. Conversely, six of the "Bottom 10" are located within a 100-mile radius in the Northeast coastal area.

"We continue to see the same factors influencing the appreciation or depreciation of residential markets across the country," stated Eric Fox, Veros' vice president of statistical and economic modeling and developer of VeroFORECAST. "Unemployment rates, housing supplies, and population trends remain the primary factors affecting the housing market. Their impact is clearly reflected in the market forecasts for these coastal areas."

California Ferret Enthusiasts Launch Crowdfunding Campaign for Ballot Initiative on National Ferret Day

California ferret lovers

LA MESA, Calif., April 1, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Tired of working and waiting for ferret legalization, which never comes despite thirty years of efforts - LegalizeFerrets.org is planning a ballot initiative to free our domestic ferrets from unnecessary and unfair regulation.

April 2 is National Ferret Day in the USA and California ferret lovers are using the occasion to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo at http://igg.me/at/CLIFF/x/292522 .

The goal is to raise $100,000 to pay petitioners to help get the California Legalization Initiative for Ferrets (CLIFF) on the ballot.

Ferrets are legal in 48 states. Only Hawaii and California, along with some cities, most notably New York City continues to ban the pets.

"Reasons for banning ferrets are nonsense and don't hold up under scrutiny. An Environmental Report commissioned by LegalizeFerrets.org shows that concerns about ferrets going feral, attacking wildlife or children or any damage to the environment are unfounded," says Pat Wright of Legalize Ferrets. "But the report has never been read by the California Fish and Game Commission - although they rejected it as incomplete. A Public Records Request Act showed that no one at the Commission or Fish and Wildlife Dept. had read the document."

Appeals to regulators and legislators have fallen on deaf ears once again, and 2015 will not see any bill to legalize ferrets in the Golden State.

But new rules on the initiative process in California open up the possibilities. Fewer signatures are required and once we reach 25 percent of the required, we get in front of the California legislature.

"California ferret lovers believe we can also do a massive volunteer effort to collect signatures," adds Wright. "But no all-volunteer effort has ever gotten an initiative on the California ballot. We want to pay petitioners $100,000 to get us a quarter of the way there - and at least get us in front of the legislators."

Pro Day May Soon Challenge for Top Sporting Event

Pro Days footwear

MIAMI, Fla., April 1, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Currently, the NFL Combine is the most noted of all football camps and related events. College Pro Day is a very close second, and should soon challenge for the number one sporting crown. With the ever growing popularity of Pro Days, through manufacturing and licensing, True Fan Sports is positioning themselves as a premier powerhouse of high-performance sportswear, athletic sports shoes, leisure apparel and accessories.

With the growth and popularity of College Pro Days, it is believed that the company marketing Pro Day brand products will benefit in a myriad of ways.

Company CEO, Emory L. Williams Jr. has been developing and marketing the Pro Day brand (clothing and shoes) for several years now, "2014 has been our best year to date," says Williams. "We well exceeded all of our projections for the year, the company is currently entertaining several licensing requests and partnerships which will aid the company in greater growth and distribution."

With powerhouse companies like Nike, Adidas and Under Armour, just to name a few, Williams knows they have their work cut out for them, but with the Pro Day brand in hand, they believe they have found their niche. The company has gone to the extreme of hiring an outside firm to monitor illegal use of the Pro Day name.

Says Williams: "Over the past years, I have personally dealt with several of the largest companies in the industry, selling them trademarked sub-brands. Recently, we have been contacted by several companies expressing interest in the Pro Day brand as well as other brands we own, we never know what tomorrow will bring."

"We all know the importance of a good brand and the role it plays in a products success, our main objective is to make the Pro Day brand one of the strongest brands in the world," Williams adds.

Seattle Roofer Launches New Website, Enhanced Services

Aaron Zarling

SEATTLE, Wash., March 31, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Eco Roof Service, a locally owned business that features environmentally friendly materials and practices, launched a new, expanded website this week at www.ecoroofservice.com.

"Spring is the perfect time to think about repairing or replacing your roof," said Eco Roof Service manager Aaron Zarling, "and our new website makes it easy for people to see what we offer and to get quick estimates, via phone, e-mail, or mobile devices. In addition," Zarling said, "we have a new online application form for prospective employees, designed to help us recruit qualified workers to keep up with our expanding demand."

Eco Roof Service is a preferred contractor for Owens Corning, and also partners with Certain-Teed, both longtime industry leaders in roofing materials.

"This gives our customers access to the most advanced and long-lived new shingle materials," Zarling said. "One of our latest advances is an app that allows customers to picture exactly what a type and color of shingle will look like on their particular roof."

A Green Company:

Eco Roof Services is proud to be a green company, which uses environmentally friendly products and recycles old roof materials. "When you get a new roof," Zarling said, "we recycle the old roof shingles into highway asphalt. This is a program run by Owens Corning, which repurposes 900,000 tons per year of shingles, enough to create an estimated 11,250 miles of a 2-lane highway. So, you may be literally driving on your old roof!"

A special feature on the website is an online chat service, and if customers chat by phone or online on Tuesdays, Eco Roof Services offers $500 off their new roof installation.

What do customers say about Eco Roof Services? The website features testimonials and a Super Service Award from Angie's List for 2014.

Oak Hills Local Schools expects to save at least $373,000 annually through partnership with Energy Optimizers, USA

Oak Hills High School

TIPP CITY, Ohio, March 31, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Oak Hills Local Schools partnered with Energy Optimizers, USA, to launch an ambitious $4 million energy conservation project, expected to generate at least $373,835 in savings annually. The savings will be recognized in the district's general fund on utility and related maintenance costs, assuming usage consumption and utility rates remain at current levels. The district will issue debt payments of approximately $330,000 over a 15-year period from their Permanent Improvement Fund to pay for the project.

The project, which includes a solar thermal system to heat the Oak Hills High School swimming pool, will improve the comfort, control and reliability of the district's HVAC and lighting systems while significantly reducing operational costs. In total, 11 buildings will be improved, including the district's central office and the bus garage.

"As a leader in education, it is incumbent on us to also take a leadership role in making smart investments in smart energy," said Superintendent Todd Yohey. "This project will not only save our taxpayers dollars, it will put us firmly at the leading edge of using energy management technologies."

Energy efficient measures will include:
* Replacement of interior lighting with more efficient lamps and the removal of unneeded lamps to cut waste
* Replacement of exterior lighting with LED technology to improve energy efficiency while enhancing building safety, appearance and security
* Installation of energy efficient kitchen measures
* Controls commissioning, repairs, upgrades, integration and advanced energy management controls programming
* Installation of a solar thermal system to heat the swimming pool
* Installation of block heater controls for the bus terminals.

Projected energy savings are guaranteed for three years, and the dollars saved will be used for educational purposes.

"Building systems are becoming more efficient; it just makes sense to take advantage of these improvements to make our operations as cost-effective as possible," said Director of Operations John Beckemeyer. "On top of that, we expect our buildings will be more comfortable and our systems more reliable."

The project will also integrate the Energy Star Portfolio Manager system to model and track the current and on-going energy usage and performance of the school district.

"In our classrooms, we stress innovation and real-world experience," said Yohey. "What better way to expose students to both than through an energy-management project that will allow students to view the energy performance of their buildings in real time while learning more about STEM-based careers?"

Energy Optimizers, USA, also makes education a component to the majority of its public school energy conservation projects. As such, it will fund the launch of a Green Team to educate students about energy management concepts and careers in STEM fields.

"We are dedicated to helping our clients reduce their energy costs, and that's all about education, every step of the way," said Energy Optimizers, USA Founder and President Greg Smith. "It's about helping our clients understand what options make the most sense for them. But it's also about educating the next generation of leaders in STEM fields. That's why we believe so strongly in helping students bridge their classroom studies with career options."

In addition to funding the team for two years, Energy Optimizers, USA, will provide Ohio Energy Project academic materials that are aligned to Ohio's academic content standards. Green Team members will take part in STEM-related activities that are focused on energy conservation, while encouraging their peers to become more environmentally conscious.

About Energy Optimizers, USA:

Energy Optimizers, USA works with educational, governmental, commercial and industrial customers to implement energy savings opportunities to reduce operational costs, including lighting retrofits, renewable energy projects (wind and solar), HVAC retrofit projects, building automation retrofits and energy education programs. The company is ranked in the Top 500 of INC. Magazine's list of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the U.S. (2014), was named the Fastest Growing Company in the region for two consecutive years by the Dayton Business Journal (2013, 2014), and was named a BBB Eclipse Integrity Award Finalist (2012).

New Book, ‘The First-ever Baligham Village Mobile Health Fair’

Baligham Village Mobile Health Fair

LOS ANGELES, Calif., March 31, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Margaret Galabe, author, award-winning humanitarian, philanthropist, and founder of Student International Development Engagement (SIDE), a program in which students travel abroad to enrich their global experience, contribute to development issues, shares her experiences as a member of the team that brought this pilot project to fruition in this meaningful, heartfelt, and insightful, illustrated book.

"The First-ever Baligham Village Mobile Health Fair" (ISBN: 978-1320315005) book is a story of mothers and their babies, families and the myriad of health concerns facing this underserved remote village in Cameroon. It transcends boundaries, North Toledo, in the U.S.A., a diversified group of passionate student volunteers from Canada, the U.S., Ireland, Germany and the Czech Republic.

"It grew out of an opportunity I saw to improve the health care and mortality rates of rural families, mothers and children in Baligham, a remote poor village in Cameroon," says Margaret Galabe.

Using a mobile health fair model, and a team of local and international volunteers planned, executed and assessed the success of the first-ever Baligham Village health fair. The experience of the team is described in this book, including the lessons they learned and the extraordinary gift they shared with members of this underprivileged rural village.

The most valuable chapter in the book isn't about the planning or execution (although they are certainly program priorities) but about the lessons learned. Every successful program must continue to evolve in order to sustain longevity despite the ever changing needs of the project. The goal of this book is to inspire and encourage others to take part in the important work being done via the Baligham Village Project.

"My experiences are shared in this book for those who will enjoy the encouragement and hope present in a story such as this, where strangers give and share of their time and talent in the service of others," Galabe adds.

The book is available for purchase online at Amazon at: http://amzn.com/1320315003 .

About Student International Development Engagement:

Emilio N. Francisco, PDC CEO, Announces Acquisition of EB-5 Regional Center

private equity firm

COSTA MESA, Calif., March 27, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Emilio N. Francisco, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of private equity firm PDC Capital Group (www.pdccapitalgroup.com), announced the acquisition of ZGlobal Southern California EB-5 Investment Regional Center (http://zglobalregionalcenter.com).

The EB-5 visa is a federal program launched in 1990 that allows foreign nationals to apply for permanent residency in the U.S. in exchange for investing $1 million in a U.S. business. Each investment is required to generate at least 10 jobs.

ZGlobal has been designated by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to provide investment opportunities to foreign investors interested in participating in the EB-5 Investor Visa Program and obtaining green cards.

One advantage to designation as a regional center is that a regional center can claim indirect job creation resulting from investment projects. The ability to claim the creation of indirect jobs allows the applicant to more easily meet the EB-5 program job creation requirements.

PDC Capital Group is a private equity firm that specializes in real estate development projects funded through EB-5 visa investments.

"We are very excited about our partnership with ZGlobal Regional Center," said Emilio N. Francisco, Chief Executive Officer of PDC Capital Group. "Working through the center will give us a broader platform to connect with investors interested in our EB-5 projects."

About PDC Capital Group:

PDC Capital Group, LLC, is a private equity firm specializing in EB-5 investment projects. In identifying and executing new projects, PDC Capital Group's goal is success for three groups: success for investors, success for the community where the project is located, and success for its project partners. RingBoost Vanity Phone Numbers Provide Marketing ‘Real Estate’ for any Small Business

vanity phone numbers

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y., March 26, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Vanity phone numbers offer a unique and easy marketing opportunity for small businesses. Once you acquire a vanity, easy to remember phone number from RingBoost, it's yours, a unique asset. Like a piece of property, no one else can own it.

That proposition led Gregg Hamerschlag and Paul Faust to found vanity phone number provider RingBoost (http://www.ringboost.com/) 10 years ago. Offering vanity, easy to remember phone numbers has become a passion for the RingBoost team, which this year expanded from 12 to 30 employees.

"Using easy to remember phone numbers is easy," said Paul Faust, now RingBoost's VP of Sales and Marketing. "Unlike the case with social media there are no algorithms, changing rules or complicated analytics. Phone numbers have been here for generations and will be here for generations to come."

Vanity phone numbers have attained even more relevance in the digital age. A study conducted last year by RingBoost found that vanity phone numbers were accessed more frequently on mobile devices than their generic, numeric counterparts. The study found that click-through rates were higher on ads using vanity numbers.

The appeal of vanity numbers is not lost on small business owners around the country. On Florida's Treasure Coast real estate agent Tim Holdy acquired local vanity number 772-500-0000 for his firm the Holdy Realty Team at Real Estate of Florida, "I look at the number as a long-term investment," said Holdy. "It will continue to pay dividends over time." Holdy has already minted his own $5 million promotional dollars to commemorate the phone number.

Holdy is often asked how he decided to acquire his local vanity phone number. He says that he thought the 5 million number would be easy to remember, especially since there are only nine of them (numbers 1 through nine). RingBoost employs a full time staff of specialists to help business owners select the best number for their needs. That number can then form the basis of advertising campaigns for years to come.

RingBoost's Paul Faust personally fields dozens of calls a week from business owners with questions about different aspects of vanity phone numbers. "The two most frequent answers are: 1) The number can be used almost immediately in most cases; and 2) You don't need to do anything to activate it," said Faust. He answers other frequently asked questions on RingBoost's new YouTube channel.

Rocha Art Presents John Waguespack’s ‘Channeling The Dionysian’ April 10 – May 15, 2015

Channeling the Dionysian

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., March 24, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- San Francisco based artist John Waguespack unveils a new chapter in his creative evolution in "Channeling the Dionysian," a solo exhibition at Rocha Art. In his first solo exhibition in over a year, Waguespack's work is inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche's dramatic theory of the "Dionysian" and "Apollonian" modes of the human mind. These modes represent chaos and logical process respectively.

"The work is a result of the initial conflict and ultimate harmonization of the Apollonian and the Dionysian state of being. It is a universal fight within oneself to maintain and relinquish control. Channeling the Dionysian state frees the mind from control and barriers to true creative expression. This elevates the art, the art form, and the artist to a higher plane. In this trance-like state, man and nature are reconciled," said Waguespack.

In creating his new paintings, Waguespack focused on harmonizing his process with natural forces. Utilizing various signature techniques, he let go of control and allowed the elements to shape the final outcome of the work. From found objects used to provide texture and shape to the dilution of acrylic paint pooling while letting the wind shift the arrangements, there is a tension between control and chaos as organized patterns dissolve into abstraction.

Waguespack's approach to his work reflects his appreciation for the physicality of his materials, which he ties back to the Dionysian. Working on birch wood panels of varying sizes, some more than seven feet long, he meditated on the physical qualities of the wood and the paint letting the materials guide him intuitively. In doing so, his painting process allows for a degree of entropy that translates towards a better understanding of materials, nature, and creativity.

About John Waguespack:

John Waguespack is a leading contemporary artist residing in San Francisco. His artwork has adorned the covers of both the Knob Hill Gazette and 7x7 Magazine. His work has been exhibited at Art Basel Miami with Russell Simmons' Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series. Born in 1971 in Atlanta, Georgia and holds a BA from Boston College and an MFA in Design and Art Direction from The Portfolio Center. For more information, please visit http://www.jwagart.com/ .

Getting the Lowdown on Long-Term Care Insurance No Longer Laborious Thanks to Tech-Savvy Agents

Denise Gott

KIRKLAND, Wash., March 24, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Thinking about long-term care insurance but loathe to schedule a lengthy interview in your home? You may be laboring under an outmoded assumption, that reaching out to an expert is a big deal. That's no longer the case with a new breed of tech-savvy agents. So says ACSIA Partners, an industry leader, in a consumer alert issued today.

"Ten years ago," says Denise Gott, the company's CEO, "you made an appointment with an agent who came to your home and spent a fair amount of time with you. And you might have worried about sales pressure. But times have changed."

Lengthy in-home meetings are still available, she reports, but they're less and less the norm, at least in her organization. "Now most of our agents are connected and quick. They work remotely, by phone and screen-sharing, and they stick to the facts, respecting your time."

Many people assume the old time-consuming, face-to-face practices still prevail, according to Gott, "So they spend hours browsing the internet on their own, when they could get the facts in minutes from someone who knows."

She recommends reaching out in three-steps:
(1) Rule LTC insurance in or rule it out. "Just call one of our agents or have one call you. Say you've got five minutes and want to know if the insurance is right for you. Our agents ask concise screening questions and can steer you right, and quickly."

Long-term care insurance isn't for everyone, Gott points out. Other care solution (such as annuities, critical illness insurance, or life insurance with LTC riders) may be better for your situation. "The agent will tell you frankly."

(2) Ask for competitive quotes. "If LTC insurance is indicated, our agents go to bat for you," says Gott. "They don't offer just one policy choice. They research multiple options from multiple carriers, looking for the best set of benefits at the lowest cost. Then they present the choices to you, in your home if you like, or by PC, phone, and overnight mail."

(3) Submit an application or say no thanks. Once you receive the recommendations, the ball is in your court. Ask questions, thoroughly understand each policy choice from each carrier, and then pick one. Or reject them all. "Saying no is a rational response," says Gott. "Our agents are professionals. They don't take offense. And if you're dealing remotely, saying no may be easier."

If you decide on one of the proposed policies, the agent can help you complete the application. "There's very little paperwork that you have to do personally," says Gott. "Our agents handle most of it for you. It's part of their job."

"The main point," says Gott, "is not to put off seeking help because of outmoded assumptions. You're not committing to anything. All you're doing is asking for some quick answers."

ACSIA Partners includes a few hundred state-certified agents covering all parts of the country. To get in touch with one, just go to the company's website -- http://www.acsiapartners.com/ -- and submit an inquiry form indicating your state of residence.

ACSIA Partners LLC (in California, xACSIA Partners Insurance Agency LLC) is one of America's largest and most experienced long-term care insurance solution agencies. The company is also a co-founder and sponsor of the "3in4 Need More" campaign, run by the 3in4 Association, which encourages Americans to form a long-term care plan.

On July 2, 2014, LTC Financial Partners LLC and LTC Global Marketing Inc. announced the completion of the merger of the two companies into ACSIA Partners.

Selfie Stick Inventor Speaks Out on Museum Bans

Sage Fromm at Louvre

NEW YORK, N.Y., March 10, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The inventor and patent holder of the selfie stick agrees with museum and art gallery bans with one caveat. Wayne Fromm, the creator of the selfie stick, is an avid photographer and admirer of paintings, sculpture and all artifacts. One of the aspects to his invention is that the Quik Pod(R), the original selfie stick, converts from handheld selfie stick into a ground supported monopod.

"I added this feature to allow photographers to take photos inside museums and galleries using the Quik Pod as a monopod, to shoot under low light conditions, without a flash. This was to preserve the integrity of the art, in locations such as the Sistine Chapel, to save frescoes from fading," says Fromm. "I suggest the ban be eliminated for photographers who can prove their selfie stick can convert to a monopod," adds Fromm.

More than four years ago Fromm and his daughter Sage traveled to the Louvre where they enjoyed the freedom to photograph using the Quik Pod Selfie Stick.

"With respect for art treasures and other visitors I see no reason why selfie sticks that convert to monopods should be banned. They should remain safely on the ground in the museum," says Fromm.

Fromm is a proud supporter of Starlight Children's Foundation and participates in speaking to entrepreneurs at colleges and universities worldwide. He extends an offer to all television hosts to have him show them how to take the best selfie possible.

The original Quik Pod Selfie Stick was awarded US patent #7,684,694.

Worldwide Telecommunications Industry Revenue to hit $2.4 Trillion in 2020, says Insight Research

market analysis reports

DURANGO, Colo., March 10, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Insight Research projects that telecommunications services revenue worldwide will grow from $2.2 trillion in 2015 to $2.4 trillion in 2019. Insight's newly-released market analysis report, "The 2015 Telecommunications Industry Review: An Anthology of Market Facts and Forecasts" includes regional and service forecasts, assessment of key growth drivers, analysis of industry trends, network infrastructure and access technologies, future services, OSS/BSS and capex spending, and enterprise telecom markets.

Wireless subscriber growth compounded with rising smartphone and tablet traffic will raise global wireless revenues by 19 percent from current levels; while wireline revenues will rise only four percent as voice calls decline and users switch to mobile solutions.

"The path to sustained growth will be bumpy, fluctuating around a modest underlying rate for the next few years. The upturn in the major non-Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries - the US, European Union (EU), Japan, and 27 other developed countries-especially in Asia and particularly in China, is now a well-established source of strength for the global economy," says Bob Rosenberg, President of Insight Research.

"Consumer demand for the latest wireless devices and greater access bandwidth remains a key driver of telecommunications services growth, and the shift to Cloud-based solutions is starting to put new demands on network utilization," Rosenberg concluded.

EPIC creates ‘Panda-monium’ in the Insurance Business

risk management

ATLANTA, Ga., March 10, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, a retail property & casualty insurance brokerage and employee benefits consultant, announced that they have added Panda Mortality and Transit Insurance to a growing list of specialty risk management products and consulting services that the rapidly growing national firm provides.

Zoo Atlanta is a long-time client of EPIC's Dan Houston, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management, based in Atlanta, Georgia. Last month, Houston was presented with a unique opportunity to assist the Zoo with insurance protection for some very special residents: giant pandas.

Zoo Atlanta is one of only four zoos in the U.S. housing giant pandas, which are an endangered species, and the iconic bears represent the Zoo's most significant conservation investment to date. Female Lun Lun and male Yang Yang arrived at the Zoo in 1999 on loan from China, and a total of five cubs have been born since 2006. The most recent of these are Mei Lun and Mei Huan, the only pair of giant panda twins in the U.S.

Per the Zoo's loan agreement with China, each of Lun Lun's and Yang Yang's offspring returns to China when he or she is of age. The twins' three older siblings, male Mei Lan, male Xi Lan, and female Po, now reside at China's Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

Houston and Senior Account Manager Connie Draime, who design, place and manage all business insurance for the Zoo, recently added Panda Mortality Insurance to their program. This unique, manuscript coverage insures the pandas while at Zoo Atlanta as well as during their travels to China. The EPIC team also manages Transit Insurance Coverage for the giant pandas' journey to their parents' homeland.

EPIC's Panda Mortality Insurance Coverage was placed with Lloyd's of London, and both John Stoesser with IDEAL Marine and the Lloyd's of London underwriter Lorraine Mills visited the Zoo and the giant pandas during the coverage design and underwriting process.

To watch the Zoo's giant pandas on PandaCam presented by EarthCam or to read regular blog updates about the bears' daily care and milestones, visit: http://www.zooatlanta.org/pandacam/ .

Dan Houston has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, plus broad experience with animals, both professionally and personally. In the past, Houston provided risk management and insurance services for CNN owner Ted Turner and his Bison ranches. Dan and his wife Virginia also co-own and operate Houston's Horse Farm in Canton, Georgia.

Weitz & Luxenberg Files Lawsuit Against Lenovo for Superfish Security Risk

class action

NEW YORK, N.Y., March 4, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Weitz & Luxenberg P.C. has announced the filing of a class action lawsuit against Lenovo and Superfish for a recent case of laptop security failings. The suit was filed in response to the growing concern over computer manufacturer Lenovo's inclusion of Superfish malware on laptops purchased after Sept. 1, 2014.

In January 2015, a security expert discovered that Superfish's VisualDiscovery software had been installed on Lenovo laptops before they were shipped out to customers. This software has security defects that endanger all communications made on the affected laptops.

According to published reports, more than just a few models are affected. Laptops purchased after Sept. 1, 2014 and during Feb. 2015 may all contain this damaging software. The models containing Superfish include the Lenovo G, U, Y, Z, S, Flex, MIIX, YOGA, and E series.

As Robin L. Greenwald, head of Weitz & Luxenberg's Environmental, Toxic Tort & Consumer Protection Unit explained, "Lenovo sold you a laptop that you thought you could trust to protect confidential internet communications. But Lenovo didn't care about your security; instead, it cared about exploiting you and helping advertisers promote their products. By doing so, Lenovo and Superfish exposed you to a serious security risk."

How Superfish Causes a Security Risk:

It has been announced in news reports that hackers can use Wi-Fi networks, which are found across the U.S. in many public places -- including coffeeshops, restaurants and bars -- to hack into your computer. The Superfish software is what allows them in, according to Weitz & Luxenberg.

Once these thieves access your computer, they can capture any data you have stored on it. This gives them possible access to your passwords, bank account numbers, tax records and any other private information, according to industry reports.

The hackers then can use the information themselves to open credit card or cell phone accounts in your name, file false tax returns in your name, or sell your information on the black market to others who will do so.

Christopher Dalbey, an attorney with Weitz & Luxenberg, explained, "Lenovo's actions are also reprehensible because it installed software that allows hackers to easily mimic the look and feel of other companies' secure websites."

Dalbey emphasized, "You think that you're visiting a website for your bank, but instead the software tricks you into giving up personal and private information. And that software is installed on your own computer by a manufacturer you trusted."

Lenovo explained the inclusion of this malware as an attempt to improve the advertising experience for its customers. The company claimed not to have realized that the software gives Superfish access to all of a customer's online communications and enables hackers to easily spy on customers, according to news outlets.

Join Our Class Action Against Lenovo:

The attorneys at Weitz & Luxenberg believe that you have certain privacy rights that are safeguarded by federal and state laws. These include the federal wiretapping statute and state laws about deceptive trade practices, breach of implied warranty and fraudulent concealment. And at least one state has an anti-spyware law.

The firm believes that the evidence indicates that Lenovo knowingly violated those rights. Therefore, both Lenovo and Superfish should be held accountable and people who have been damaged should receive compensation.

W&L invites anyone who has purchased a Lenovo laptop during this time period to reach out to us to discuss joining our class action lawsuit.

"Lenovo put your security and privacy at risk, and you deserve to be compensated for that," affirms Ms. Greenwald. "Big corporations must learn that they cannot take advantage of people. And if they do so, they will be held accountable for it."

MostFit Introduces Stability Training Tools That Initiate a Whole New Way to Train

Core Hammer

LOS ANGELES, Calif., March 3, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Following the launch of SYN Rings - a revolutionary product that changes the paradigm of stability training - MostFit has just released the new Core Hammer to the market. If you're looking to add a new dimension of intensity, explosive muscle engagement and core training to your exercise regimen, or for your clients, these tools fit the bill.

The MostFit Core Hammer is a first of its kind, finally making sledgehammer workouts possible without the tire. The Core Hammer is designed just like a sledgehammer, but the head is round and composed of solid hard rubber, providing the right amount of rebound so the user can establish a rhythm that exactly mimics traditional sledgehammer swings. This means that sledgehammer workouts can now be done anywhere - in a park, gym, Crossfit box, or at home and multiple users can workout together in small spaces with the Core Hammer, which fits in nicely with MostFit's mantra of helping the user be the "Most Fit" they can be - anywhere, any time.

MostFit SYN Rings allow the user to suspend weight plates from an Olympic weightlifting bar creating instability; forcing the user to engage more core and stability muscles and increase overall strength. The rings allow the weight plates to move in all directions, including forward, back, side-to-side, up-and-down and in circular motions.

"Stability weight training with the MostFit SYN Rings promotes core stabilization, explosive muscle engagement and athletic development - it's a whole new way to train," says Dr. Santo Riva PT, DPT, OCS, NASM-CPT.

The MostFit Suspension Strap offers "grab-and-go exercise" at little cost. It's a safe, affordable and most importantly, portable way to get your workout on - at home, at the office or on the road. Bodyweight training with the MostFit Suspension Strap will strengthen major muscles, while improving balance and core strength. It's designed to be a single, contained unit, and all adjustments are made using just the body. There are no extra parts or adjustable clips to get in the way of the workout and the anchor is attached. Additionally, the MostFit Suspension Strap weighs significantly less than other products available, and it contains no metal parts, so it can easily be brought in your carry-on luggage for air travel.

"If there's one thing that my passion and experience as a fitness instructor has taught me, it's that health and wellness don't have to be out of reach," says Andrew Gavigan, Founder and President of MostFit. New Technologies Poised to Create Billion-Dollar Markets

emerging technologies

NEW YORK, N.Y., March 2, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- A series of market investigations by Thintri, Inc. (www.thintri.com) has revealed significant new opportunities in several emerging technologies. These studies have uncovered three technologies that are projected to undergo dramatic market growth through the decade, moving rapidly from very modest, or even non-existent, markets to billion-dollar levels within the next five to 10 years.

The opportunities are analyzed in Thintri's Market Alerts, a series of shorter, concise market studies focusing on new or previously overlooked technologies that are poised to make a significant impact in the near future.

TV White Space:

Television White Space refers to the frequency bands residing between broadcast television channels that have been freed up by the move to digital television, and made available by the FCC for unlicensed use in telecommunications. The technology, which has already been proven in a number of deployments, comes at a time when conventional wireless networks are approaching saturation, when demand is growing at more than 100 percent per year. This bandwidth crunch results not only from burgeoning consumer smartphone use, but also new applications like the Internet of Things and Machine-to-Machine communications.

TV White Space can provide relief, with the potential to offer Exabytes per month of added capacity in this decade. It also offers potentially highly profitable solutions in bringing broadband wireless access to rural and underserved populations, as well as wide area and metropolitan networks.

Graphene-Based Lubricants:

Graphene, a two-dimensional array of carbon atoms, offers a number of fascinating properties. It is the thinnest material ever found, it's hundreds of times stronger than steel and offers extraordinary electronic properties. Graphene offers the potential to remake entire industries, but none more so than lubricants. Graphene is chemically inert and offers high mechanical strength, and can be applied to nanoscale devices or macro-scale machinery, all with significant advantages over established lubricants.

Graphene-based lubricants can be applied as solid coatings deposited on surfaces exposed to friction, or used as an additive to fluid lubricants. Compared to conventional lubricants, graphene-based lubricants can reduce wear by as much as four orders of magnitude with relative insensitivity to environmental conditions. No other known solid lubricant can reduce friction and wear as effectively as graphene. Graphene-based lubricants were initially held back by high prices but with the plummeting price of graphene, graphene-based lubricants are ready to capture multi-billion dollar markets within the present decade.

Paper Electronics and Paper Batteries:

Paper electronics, the printing of electronic devices, circuits and displays on cheap, disposable paper substrates, is rapidly approaching commercialization and offers the promise of creating large, entirely new markets. Of course paper electronics will never duplicate silicon's performance, but that's not the point. While performance will be limited, costs will be so low that electronics and displays will find themselves in applications undreamt of until now. Roll-to-roll printing will print electronic circuits on paper substrates faster than an Olympic sprinter can run, enabling incredibly high volume production.

Paper electronics will bring intelligence to innumerable applications that today are strictly low tech. For example, ordinary packaging will incorporate displays running videos on product operation; small, disposable tabs will quickly diagnose disease in the patient's home; business cards will update themselves or show a person's present location; retail security will include technically sophisticated mechanisms that cost pennies; billboards and signage will be easily updated and include full-motion video; and many other applications will be made possible and extremely inexpensive.

The greatest revenue opportunity will be paper batteries and ultracapacitors. Paper has long been used in power capacitors, but can also be made into lightweight, robust and powerful batteries that can be rolled or folded into nearly any shape, able to accommodate the most constrained form factors, such as in cell phones. Paper ultracapacitors can efficiently deliver tremendous bursts of power, a necessity in some applications like electric vehicles, biometric ATM cards or small devices sending wireless signals. Markets for paper electronics and paper batteries will likely approach billion-dollar levels within 10 years.

Thintri's Market Alerts highlight extraordinary opportunities for investment and revenue in fast-changing markets by technologies that are poised to revolutionize entire industries. More details can be found at http://www.thintri.com/ .
