Epcon Delivers World-Class Thermal Deoilers Based on Patented Process Heating Systems

CONROE, Texas /ScoopCloud/ -- Epcon Industrial Systems, LP has delivered several custom thermal deoiler systems based on their patented process heating systems for several different industries.

One of the thermal deoilers was delivered to a company providing stamping oil cleaning services for HVAC furnace and A/C coil and automotive heater core industries, is based on an Oxidizer/Oven patented-Epcon(R) system and features a burner-less deoiler, a cooling zone, multiple conveyors and platforms. The unit has a built-in secondary heat recovery system that uses a shell and tube heat exchanger design, to recycle the heat from the oxidizer back into the burner-less oven.

The Result: This system's efficiency has significantly reduced cost by more than 30 percent when comparing the old method of aqueous cleaning to the thermal deoiling process. This deoiler also eliminated toxic waste water and reduced water consumption as well.

Another system recently delivered by the Epcon engineering team is an integral thermal deoiler design, based on one of Epcon's patents utilizing a thermal oxidizer and thermal deoiler for the oven. This thermal deoiler is also burner-less and utilizes the secondary heat from the oxidizer. The thermal oxidizer a shell and tube heat exchanger design that reduced the fuel consumption of the oxidizer. In addition, a secondary heat recovery system, that incorporated a plate and shell heat which supplies the heat necessary to operate the burner-less oven.

The Result: This system's efficiency has significantly reduced fuel consumption and operating cost by over 30 percent percent, as well as reduced the amount of water usage and eliminated the production of toxic waste water.

Epcon Industrial Systems also delivered a thermal deoiler to a major HVAC equipment supplier. This integrated system consisted of a processing oven to clean the residual oil present in the HVAC coils, combined with an air pollution control system thermal oxidizer to destroy the solvents evaporated during thermal cleaning process. This processing oven features a dual lane conveyor system with a precision lane adjustment mechanism, and unique air distribution nozzles arrangement to offer high and low-pressure air impingement over specific areas of the HVAC coil. The combination of a higher recirculation rate and turbulence in the Oven processing chamber allowed the end user to achieve proper cleaning of parts in 20 percent less time.

The unique design of the integrated oven-oxidizer system offered a highly energy efficient solution by using air pollution control equipment as a heat source to the processing oven. The recuperative-style thermal oxidizer with primary and secondary heat recovery arrangements were used to design a "burner-less" oven configuration to recover waste heat generated in the oxidizer.

The Result: This new, optimized system configuration resulted into energy savings of 5.5 MMBTU per hour, which saved the company about $125,000 per year, a much higher ROI than anticipated. Epcon's patented method of coupling heat processing systems and air pollution control systems is a prime example of how Epcon's thermal engineering can create significant cost savings by making the process more efficient.

Are you looking for a thermal deoiler system that will reduce your energy consumption and cost? Give us a call at (936) 273-3300, email us at epcon@epconlp.com, or complete our simple online contact form to reach out to one of our experts today.

ZKTeco USA Announces Partnership with V-Authenticate

FAIRFIELD, N.J. /ScoopCloud/ -- ZKTeco USA, a leading provider of biometric and RFID security solutions, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with V-Authenticate, an independently owned software developer primarily known for their next-generation visitor management software called VAMS (Visitor Authentication and Management System).

VAMS software uniquely incorporates visitor AUTHENTICATION. VAMS prevents imposters and unauthorized users from gaining fraudulent access to a facility.

As noted by ZKTeco USA President & Founder Manish Dalal, "While we see incredible increases in security product expenditures, it concerns me greatly also seeing customers neglect their visitor management strategy. Regardless how much time and money you spend fortify your building, your investment is wasted if you cannot safely and efficiently inspect and track visitors. We've adopted the VAMS software to address this important void in the market."

V-Authenticate CEO Nikhil Kothary added "We've seen tremendous adoption of our VAMS software by end-users. By partnering with ZKTeco, we additionally gain access to the thousands of physical & logical security installers currently partnering with ZKTeco. DAPA Products Shares Welt Cording Ideas to Take Upholstery and Home Furnishings to the Next Level

JASPER, Ala. /ScoopCloud/ -- DAPA Products, manufacturer of upholstery and fenestration products, shares ideas on how to take upholstered furniture and furnishings to the next level with welt cords. DAPA Products innovated the industry with the launch of Foam Welt Cord and Foam Screen Spline, which reduced the incidents of carpal tunnel syndrome in workers who installed screen spline in windows and doors. As the market grows, so does their customer base. These ideas are based on the products they've seen in the industry.

Whether designing for clients or for the home, the decor that is on display in magazines and local shops typically include custom details that add a touch of luxury and elegance. From the complimentary colored cording running along the edge of drapery, to the same colored cord that frames a pillow, to the cording that adds a touch of class to upholstered furniture. These details make a difference in the value of the product.

1. Use welt cords for pillows to trim and frame them. Creating piping for the edges of pillows takes minimal time and adds all the difference in terms of the way the pillow looks. Piping adds value to the finished product. Contrasting piping and pillow colors can be a statement for the décor.

2. Trim for draperies. Welt cord can be used as trimming for drapes. Instead of sewing on another lace or pom-pom trim, try sewing welt cord to frame the edge of the drapes.

3. Upholstery trim. Add trim to upholstered chairs, sofas, and other furniture with braided welt cord. Piping can add contrasting, complimentary, and symmetrical color combinations to complement or contrast the patterns and colors in the room.

4. Trim headboards. Upholstered headboards have added a modern décor look to these pieces of furniture. Adding trim to a headboard adds visual interest and value.

5. Hotrod and auto upholstery. Touches of trim aren't just for home furnishings. Today's hotrods also benefit from adding welt cords to leather upholstery. The trim is used on the interiors of the vehicles.

DAPA Products has a list of the industries they serve with welt cord and other upholstery and fenestration products. Their products are made with virgin raw materials, not scrap, to uphold their commitment to the highest quality products.

To learn more and order braided welt cord, and other forms of welt cord online, visit https://www.dapaproducts.com/.

ONTARIO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- The National Law Enforcement Museum will open to the public on October 13 in Washington D.C. and MAGLITE(R) representatives and San Bernardino County Sheriff Lieutenant Jim Considine will be in attendance to experience this momentous occasion.

Considine was severely wounded while on duty in a 1997 shooting. A bullet from an AK-47 rifle was deflected from a "center-mass" chest wound by the MAGLITE(R) flashlight the Sheriff was carrying. A video encompassing Considine's story is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JV0SL-53Ekc

Mag Instrument, the manufacturer of the MAGLITE flashlight, is one of the earliest supporters of the National Law Enforcement Museum. With New Facility, and Aligning Behind New VP/GM Tim Hudson, Hartness Targets ‘Better-than-Ever Products and Customer Service’

GREENVILLE, S.C. /ScoopCloud/ -- It's an oft-proven fact of business and industry that expansion, in and of itself, does not always and automatically lead to bigger and better things. For example, about eight years ago, Hartness, An ITW Company, recognized that it had outgrown its main facility. Accordingly, the company undertook an overall expansion achieved by moving some of its manufacturing to a second facility several miles from Headquarters.

As an unintended consequence of operating in two buildings, customers calling on Hartness would often end up in the wrong location or have to travel from one building to another for engineering meetings or FATS - Factory Acceptance Tests - of their equipment.

To dramatically address such inconveniences and inefficiencies, in February 2019, Hartness will consolidate and move all of its manufacturing under one roof, into a large facility in Greenville, S.C.

This waiting-and-ready building, while not entirely new from the ground up, has been totally renovated and is state-of-the-art, incorporating LEED & Sustainable Design. The building encompasses 234,000 square feet, exceeding by 14,000 square feet the 220,019 square feet contained by the two buildings it will replace.

Having more functions gathered under one, larger roof will benefit customers who visit, and it will also allow Hartness to centralize Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations, improving both internal and external communication.

This new wide-open design gives Hartness the floor space to streamline its production, in-line its key equipment production areas and improve its parts flow.

Leveraging Improved Facilities with Strong, Savvy New Leadership:

ITW Hartness' current-and-newest VP & General Manager, Managing Director for Europe Tim Hudson, who started this year in July, brings a distinguished, and accomplished background to Hartness. Prior to joining ITW, Tim was General Manager of the Mechanical Systems Product Division of GE Aviation Unison. Tim has also held various positions as General Manager for the Industrial Products segment, as well as the Digital Leader for GE Aviation Unison. He was also a Director of Commercial Operations for GE Aviation Systems and held various positions in Sales Leadership and Engineering at Rockwell Automation.

Tim graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and earned an Executive MBA from Villanova University.

According to Hudson, "I looked at Hartness and how they've executed and proven the ITW Tool Box business model. I am an avid learner and I saw this as an opportunity to align with a company that has demonstrated global transformation in the Secondary Packaging Industry. It's an opportunity to take a really good company and do something great.

"I want to focus on three things, customer innovation, employee alignment and relentless execution.

"For customer innovation and technology, we will display new greater value-add products at Pack Expo. We'll continue to look at technology investments to improve our positioning for the next 15-20 years. The Industrial Internet of Things is a focus of our innovation.

"The people foundation is here for employee alignment. We have a great history here with a lot of seasoned employees. Our employees are a wealth of untapped potential. Every employee is focused on the customer; however, I want to ensure it's a guiding principle by driving a culture of transparent and respectful candor. I also focus on developing a strong pipeline of talent that positions us for the future. We are currently hiring and looking for top talent that is a cultural fit. Bringing in the right talent is of paramount importance.

"We solve the toughest problems, the ones that other companies cannot. We execute in a way that helps our customers. Leveraging the new facility, we are streamlining operations and we will continue to provide the highest value for each customer's investment we are entrusted with.

"Leveraging my past experiences and learnings will be instrumental in leading this company, as it exists today. While some may view my approach as disruptive, my goal is to make sure we are not only prepared but to excel in the (IIOT) Industrial Internet of Things revolution that is on the cusp of beginning.

"I come from very humble beginnings. I have faced many challenges in life, worked my way through school, and had kids in grad school. I'm just a down-to-earth, grounded, hard-working guy that wants to make a difference like many of my employees. I respect all people and I expect my senior leadership team to reflect that as well. I'm a huge proponent of developing talent, and a firm believer that there's more knowledge from a group than from one individual.

"Recently, I put out a challenge to our employees to come up with a slogan, something that reflects our business in today's climate. A talented employee came back with 'Magna Novi,' which is Latin for a 'Great New Era.' We're adopting this and going to run with it."

BOGE Oil Free Compressors Eliminate Risk in the Food Industry

POWDER SPRIGS, Ga. /ScoopCloud/ -- In recent months, there have been numerous instances in the news about food borne illnesses that have reaffirmed the ongoing need for quality oil free compressors in kitchens and food preparation areas, says BOGE America, Inc.

When installed and in use, a BOGE oil free compressor helps to retain air quality within the surrounding vicinity, and guards against the risk of air impurities polluting the air quality.

According to Jerry Elsen, General Manager, BOGE America, "The use of quality oil free compressors in the workplace is extremely important to the Food Industry in the U.S. Recent events have illustrated the urgent need for a new dialogue, and one that is ongoing. Food borne illnesses have harmed many people in the U.S. and damaged the hard-earned reputations of longtime businesses."

He added "BOGE's line of oil free air compressors ensure that all businesses in the American food industry can operate at their best and, at the same time, serve customers consistently with the highest standards."

Previously, combating this pollution could cost a great deal of time and money. For restaurants and other eating establishments such as medical food preparation areas that already operate with a tight profit margin, cost savings and safety are always a priority.

As a solution to food borne illnesses, BOGE America is proud to offer a range of oil free compressors that provide a comprehensive air quality solution. Compressors that are cutting edge, but also set to provide an enduring long-term solution to a food industry establishment.

ATI Innovates for the New York Aquarium with a One-of-a-Kind Shark Crane

MENTOR, Ohio /ScoopCloud/ -- Have you ever visited an aquarium and wondered how the animals found their way in there? Engineers at Air Technical Industries (ATI) learned first-hand by designing a creative solution for the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) in New York City: the first continuous, double-rail, serpentine crane system of its kind.

ATI thrives on customized designs, with a 50-year history built on tackling the projects that others have called "impossible." They pride themselves on their "Challenge Request" form on their website, which was how WCS found them.

WCS needed a magical system of continuous motion to gently move sharks weighing up to 600 pounds from one pool to another, as well as from outdoors to inside the pools in the building without compromising the sensitive indoor environment.

In addition to the unique requirements of the space, the business of moving sharks called for very special adjustments. The motion of the crane had to be smooth to keep the animals calm, not jerky or loud-like traditional models. The trolley needed to move at a continuous, but slow pace so the caretakers could walk alongside the moving sharks. The hoist had to lower carefully and smoothly into the pools without splashing down and the materials used could not interfere with the pH of the water or oxygen levels.

Due to the staggered pools, the path of the track had to pass over each pool in an offset formation, as well as miss the gates located between pools.

ATI's solution arrived as an S-shaped double-girder bridge crane track with a zero-headroom hoist and trolley system. The hoist was built directly into the trolley, saving headspace with only the hook hanging below.

Due to the sensitive nature of the environment, special considerations were necessary to prevent contamination of the aquarium pools including: a special food-grade epoxy coating, wash-down motor, and stainless steel lifting chain and hook, as well as non-toxic and environmentally friendly lubricants.

"The trolley travel was probably the biggest challenge in the whole project," explained Vida Novak, Lead Engineer at ATI. "After making several adjustments to the trolley, we converted it to 'four-wheel drive,' enabling all the rollers to navigate the curves in the track smoothly and effortlessly."

The months of creative collaboration resulted in the first ever double-girder, ceiling mounted, serpentine crane system that perfectly fit the needs of the aquarium.

It was time for the first live shark to go for a test ride on the Shark Crane. Search, "How Do You Move a Shark" for the New York Times May 16, 2018 article. It worked! People and sharks alike sighed in relief. The Shark Crane was perfectly designed for its unique space.

The Shark Crane is used regularly at the New York Aquarium. Customizing the Shark Crane for such a specific environment was certainly an enormous challenge, but the engineers at ATI know that anything is possible!

Clean PVC Certification Announced for PVC-Based Products

ANDOVER, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- Clean PVC LLC, an environmental consulting organization, today announced the launch of its Clean PVC(R) Certification program. The program identifies flooring, wallcovering, upholstery, and other PVC-based products that have been found safe via REACH compliance for use in sustainable building projects. REACH is a regulation adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from risks posed by chemicals.

To become Clean PVC Certified, products must pass testing confirming they have less than 0.1 percent by product weight of any Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) authorized on the REACH Candidate List.

Clean PVC+(TM) Certified products contain bio-based plasticizers or no plasticizers and are also phthalate-free. Testing is performed by SGS, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company.

A Clean PVC Certified or Clean PVC+ Certified label lets architects and designers quickly distinguish products containing the safest forms of PVC from those that may not. Carpe Diem Technologies Receives Grant for Nanoimprinted Lithography (NIL) Next-generation Tech

BOSTON, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- Carpe Diem Technologies, Inc. (Carpe Diem) is the recipient of $2.1 of $7 million in new Advanced Manufacturing Awards (M2I2) announced by Massachusetts Governor Charles Baker on July 12, 2018. The company received the award to help establish it as the hub of a Massachusetts-based national ecosystem for the development and mass production of nanoimprinted microstructures for flexible hybrid electronic and large area high volume applications.

These microstructures can:
* cause materials to repel water, bacteria and/or dirt,
* help capture or guide photons for optics, sensors or solar cells,
* enhance the performance of batteries (including high performance lithium ion),
* and finally, can define the electrical circuits and electronics on low-cost flexible substrates such as foil, paper and plastic.

Key Massachusetts members of the ecosystem include:

1. Carpe Diem Technologies, Inc. - Franklin, MA; New Bedford, MA
2. Rothtec - New Bedford, MA
3. Flexcon - Spencer, MA
4. Mack Technologies - Westford, MA
5. Xenon Corp - Wilmington, MA

The Massachusetts Manufacturing Innovation Initiative (M2I2) is a state program that invests in emerging manufacturing projects.

The Carpe Diem grant provides capital for the manufacturing expansion required to support microstructure-enabled commercialization. Key is the expansion of Carpe Diem's nano seamless mastering capacity to higher volume for roll masters ranging from 6 inches to 1.6 meters wide.

In addition, this grant will provide Carpe Diem, Rothtec and Flexcon enhanced facilities and equipment, including a common metrology platform for working through the challenging nanometer dimensions.

The consortium of companies is active in several high-volume opportunities, and, as John S. Berg, CEO of Carpe Diem Tech, explained: "We are fortunate to have capable partners in a state where leadership has the vision to invest - together with America's Manufacturing Institutes - to make the critical difference in local and domestic manufacturing."

The efforts at Carpe Diem, Rothtec, Flexcon, and Mack Technologies are expected to create dozens of high-value manufacturing jobs.

"We've refined our nano-imprint capabilities for nearly a decade through our partnership with UMass Amherst Center for Hierarchical Manufacturing and Advanced Roll-to-Roll Facility," explains Berg. "This grant will allow us to complement that work with production capacity."

NextFlex (America's Flexible Hybrid Electronics Manufacturing Institute), a San Jose-based organization formed in 2015 by the Department of Defense and the Flextech Alliance industrial trade group, supported Carpe Diem's proposal of a manufacturing ecosystem of NIL for flexible hybrid electronics, which they deemed strategically critical to America's future commercial and defense needs.

About Carpe Diem Technologies, Inc.:

Carpe Diem and its clients bring nano-enabled products to market with high-precision, high-volume manufacturing solutions.

Capacity LLC Partners with RightHand Robotics to Further Automate Fulfillment Operations

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. /ScoopCloud/ -- Capacity LLC(R), trusted leaders in order fulfillment, e-commerce, and electronic data interchange (EDI), has partnered with the robotic piece-picking experts at RightHand Robotics. The collaboration will integrate the Massachusetts-based company's RightPick(TM) automation system into Capacity's fulfillment solution offering, creating a new competitive edge for its clients.

The robotic workcells will be integrated with existing warehouse material handling systems, such as those from Lightning Pick, and will increase the level of automation. The integration of RightPick(TM) technology will begin in Capacity's New Jersey fulfillment center this year, and later expand to its California location.

As the fulfillment partner of choice for household names and global brands like Glossier and ADP, Capacity handles thousands of e-commerce and B2B orders daily. The company's initial use of robotic piece-picking automation builds upon Capacity's strategy of deploying engineered systems that improve speed, accuracy and flexibility to meet its clients' omnichannel fulfillment needs.

When Capacity sought a robotic piece-picking solution, its goals included finding a system that could pick and place a wide range of items at high rates with reliability.

"We quickly concluded that many of the systems entering the market would not meet our needs," said Capacity's Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Thom Campbell. "We realized that the solution had to be imagined from the bottom up with an understanding of what was needed to solve our particular challenges. It's not just about having a better gripper - you need a fully integrated software and hardware approach, which RightHand has nailed."

Capacity's leadership team chose to invest in RightHand's RightPick(TM) solution, an integrated, software-driven picking solution that flexibly handles thousands of products, including never-before-seen items, and learns and adapts over time.

"We knew from our earliest interactions with RightHand and vetting of other solutions that this was the team and platform we wanted to partner with moving forward," said Campbell.

"We are tremendously excited to be working with Capacity," said Yaro Tenzer, Co-Founder and CEO of RightHand Robotics. "We share a common vision for how robotic piece-picking can be a strategic asset to their business, especially as they continue to grow at a phenomenal rate across multiple product categories and parts of the world. With every pick, the system generates data that helps us further improve performance across their entire fleet of workcells."

Seidel Diesel Group Embraces Franklin Covey’s 4DX Program

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. /ScoopCloud/ -- According to Thoms, "We've had significant success in quantifiable cost savings and increased revenue by bringing Covey's(R) The 4 Disciplines of Execution(TM) (4DX) formula into our culture." Midwest Fuel Injection at its Bolingbrook's Headquarters was first to incorporate the 4DX approach into its strategic goal setting initiatives in Oct. 2017, quickly achieving business-critical goals.

Thoms led the rollout of 4DX to the branch managers during the 6th annual SDG meeting and stated, "Without question, we were very excited to show our branch managers how to integrate this successful business formula at their locations." Thoms added that the impact of implementing 4DX and focusing on "Wildly Important Goals" (WIGS), resulted in a gain of $217,000 from combined cost reductions and sales increases.

Further compounding the value of 4DX, "Our branch managers left the meeting with a sense of enthusiasm, as they look forward to implementing this program to achieve their goals," according to Thoms.

The meeting held last weekend included SDG management from its Bolingbrook headquarters and branch managers from Midwest Fuel Injection (Illinois, Iowa), Metro Fuel Injection (Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania), International Fuel Injection (Florida), Pacific Fuel Injection (Oregon), and Action Truck Parts (Illinois).

The two-and-a-half-day event allowed SDG to review business results, recognize significant achievements, share new strategies for goal setting and provide a great opportunity for relationship building. MAGLITE Flashlight Wins National Hardware American Manufacturing Award for Best New Product for Second Year in a Row

ONTARIO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- MAG Instrument Inc. (MAG), the world leader in flashlight technology, has been awarded the National Hardware American Manufacturing Award for Best New Product for the second year in a row. The award was presented to MAG by John Lederer with the National Hardware Show (NHS) and Marcie Gabor of the Made In USA Brand. The Maglite(R) ML150LR LED Rechargeable Flashlight System was selected out of eight finalists to receive the award.

NHS and the Made In USA Brand annually pick the Best New Product from an American manufacturer as such products are favored by conscientious consumers. The NHS and the Made in USA Brand are working together to support manufacturers who are forerunners in this national trend. The American Manufacturing Awards are given to companies that manufacture their products in the U.S.A. and focus on excellence in design, quality and innovation.

"It is an honor to receive this coveted award for the second year in a row," said Tony Maglica, president, owner and founder of MAG Instrument. "We maintain a commitment to high quality, American manufactured products while providing the public with high-performance, reliable and durable products."

The mid-sized ML150LR flashlight was designed with first responders in mind. It is a rechargeable flashlight that comes with a cradle intended to ride alongside officers in their patrol vehicle. The ML150LR packs over 1,000 lumens and lasts up to 79 hours in ECO mode. Multiple law enforcement officers from the National Tactical Officers Association who field-tested the ML150LR flashlight gave it a high rating and praised it for a variety of critical features including brightness, beam throw, toughness, on-time between charges and more. The ML150LR is also MAG's first mid-size flashlight to use Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFeP04) rechargeable battery chemistry, which allows for faster recharging (about 2.5 hours from "dead" to "full").

About Mag Instrument:

Mag Instrument is proud to be a U.S.A. manufacturer. Each flashlight is a result of an obsession with fine engineering, craftsmanship and a commitment to perfection. Founder, owner and president Anthony Maglica has guided his company's growth from a one-man machine shop in 1955 to an enterprise that has proudly employed thousands of American workers since it produced its first flashlight in 1979.

Mag Instrument, Inc. will Highlight New Products, New Partnerships and continued support of American Manufacturing at 2018 National Hardware Show

ONTARIO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- MAG Instrument, Inc. will once again be a major sponsor of the National Hardware Show and demonstrate its commitment to American manufacturing being the Co-Title Sponsor of the "MADE IN USA Pavilion." MAG is committed to making its products in the U.S.A. and educating consumers as to the quality and craftsmanship that separate U.S. products from those made overseas.

A story from USA Today noted that "Over 80 percent of Americans are willing to pay more for MADE in USA Products." Anthony Maglica, founder, owner and president of MAG, noted that on a recent visit to MAG, a California U.S. Congressman indicated that keeping U.S. manufacturing strong was not only an economic issue but is a national security issue.

"If the U.S.A. is going to continue to be great we must make things here," said Maglica. "A country without a manufacturing base is weak and at risk economically and otherwise. Making things here means good paying jobs and people who have money to shop at places like hardware retailers and that keeps the economy strong."

MAG will also be highlighting new MAGLITE(R) branded products and its' continued sponsorship of the non-profit organization the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

"Retailers have done well with our National Breast Cancer Foundation line of logo products that benefit breast cancer support and research and we are introducing a new LED line of products we are confident will prove popular as well," said Scott Field, global vice-president of sales and marketing.

MAG also recently launched new partnerships including an Everyday Carry series of products with Gerber and is currently in negotiations on several other upcoming partnerships.

"We are going to continue to innovate and support our retailers with unique marketing efforts and partnerships that increase sales and margins for our retailers so the MAGLITE brand continues to be the leading flashlight brand in the world," said Field.

You can visit the MAGLITE(R) Booth at the National Hardware Show May 8 - 10, 2018 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV. Booth #6937.

Getting 100 percent off the grid – award winning state of the art Mark Richey Woodworking is nearing its goal

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. /ScoopCloud/ -- The recent addition of Mark Richey Woodworking's 500-kW solar array marks the company's place as one of the greenest architectural millwork firms in the U.S. Mark Richey Woodworking (MRW) is a national model in manufacturing with the continual use of its 600-kilowatt wind turbine and solar array allowing the 130,000 square foot facility to operate entirely from renewable energy.

Most recently, MRW received a state award as an industry champion for its exceptional efforts to reduce pollution. Its unique biomass furnace - which heats the entire shop - achieves a 73% reduction in solid and universal waste generation according to the Toxic Use Reduction Institute (TURI).

One of the most unique aspects - and there are many - about the corporate culture of MRW is that Mark Richey sets the bar so high when it comes to sustainability that it is not unusual to find the accomplished mountaineer - who summited Mt. Everest in 1991 - comfortably situated at 290-feet above sea level cleaning the wind turbine himself.

Mark Richey and his wife Teresa founded MRW nearly 40 years ago and have always incorporated their renewable energy goals into its growth. Opening its doors for tours for school children and businesses reinforces the company's environmental commitment that has become a beacon for sustainable manufacturing.

"If a small manufacturing company in Newburyport, Massachusetts can do this so can the larger companies. Our hope for youth is that when kids are my age, sustainable manufacturing will become the norm and not the exception," said Mark Richey.

About Mark Richey Woodworking:

Mark Richey Woodworking crafts and installs custom architectural woodwork. Our work enhances the experience of performing arts centers, museums, corporate headquarters, academic institutions and restaurants across the country.

Mark Richey Woodworking is one of the greenest manufacturers in the country. Dedication to the art and craft of woodworking and to sustainability is the trademark of MRW.
