New Book, ‘CONFESSIONS OF 400 MEN: True Revelations of Lust, Fidelity, Feelings and Fantasy’

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. /ScoopCloud/ -- Author Heidi Doheny Jay will debut her new book, "Confessions of 400 Men: True Revelations of Lust, Fidelity, Feelings & Fantasy" (ISBN: 978-1543925968) at Philly Art Collective: 253 N. 3rd Street Philadelphia, PA 19106 on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. Press engagement is open from 5-6 p.m. Members of the press will receive a free copy of the book.

For "Confessions of 400 Men," Ms. Doheny Jay spent two and half years interviewing men from all ages and walks of life asking them to divulge their innermost secrets about the women they've loved. She pulled back the curtain on the untold side of the relationship story- his side.

She heard everything - lifelong secrets, funny snafus, lovers that got away and the real reason men long for intimacy. She discovered how common it is for men to feel lonely and what actually drives them to be unfaithful. She learned why men work so hard at their careers and not so much, seemingly, at their personal relationships.

"We miss the girlfriend we married," said Chris, a 59 year old married Caucasian professor from Delaware.

"Men like to fix things, that's how we show you that we care. Women need to pay more attention to this," said Trent, a 46 year old single African American social worker from Maine.

"The guy who actually wants to be in a relationship is worried that the perfect woman will come along and he won't be ready," said Steve, a 48 year old divorced African American transportation owner from the Midwest.

At a time when men are thought to be coldhearted and at best ruthless creatures, "Confessions of 400 Men" reveals their hidden side.

"This book exposes the side of men that's not talked about or shown to the world. When men feel safe and believe they won't be judged, they'll allow themselves to be seen by others, but few are ever given that opportunity," says Doheny Jay.

The author hopes to inspire men to feel more comfortable discussing their feelings and to help women better understand why men act the way they do.

"I set out to understand men better. I had originally intended to write a small eBook and interview about 25 men, but I quickly discovered that when you merely listen to men without judgment or criticism, they'll share everything with you," Doheny Jay adds.

"Men wanted to talk, so I kept listening -- but after 400 interviews I knew I had more than enough to convince the world that men need to be heard just as much as women do. I truly hope to shift the paradigm and allow men the same luxury women have had for years, to freely express their feelings."

In 2016, the bunny slippers were officially introduced and handed out at a mortgage technology convention where they ended up being in surprisingly high demand. Over the years the slippers have grown in popularity.

"I was at a mortgage trade show and was asked by a cancer survivor if she could have a pair for a friend going through chemo and that's what spawned the idea to donate them to worthy causes," stated Margaret Wendt, a strategic business advisor and consultant for DocMagic. "Given that it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to offer participants, donors and volunteers at this important blood drive something fun to take home. If the pink slippers bring a simple smile to someone's face, then it's a win in our book."

Incidentally, IET Capital, a sponsor of the event, happens to be a mortgage originator and an actual end user of DocMagic's loan document preparation software, which is a widely utilized technology in the mortgage banking industry.

Holistic Practitioner Desiree Arnold Presents ‘Women’s Midlife Revolution Summit 2018’ a Free Teleconference

TRINIDAD /ScoopCloud/ -- With society continuing to place great emphasis on youthfulness, for many women, aging presents its own unique midlife crisis. Desiree Arnold understands firsthand the emotional and physical toil on women upon reaching their 40's and beyond. A holistic practitioner, naturopath and the founder of Lifely Up, a web portal dedicated to menopausal transition, Arnold wanted to nurture women through a passage that she feels should be celebrated not vilified.

She took it upon herself to consult female experts from around the world for their insight and advice and the "Women's Midlife Revolution Summit" is the result of her efforts.

A free online conference set to launch October 23 through November 2, 2018 the "Women's Midlife Revolution Summit 2018" is available at https://womensmidliferevolutionsummit.com/.

Shifting the perception of aging, midlife and menopausal transition from a negative outlook to an exciting journey is a rapidly emerging concept in this new day of women reclaiming their power. Older women in particular are garnering media attention for feats no longer just designated to a younger generation.

The "Women's Midlife Revolution Summit 2018" presents a wonderful opportunity for women to learn, bond and share in the privacy of their homes as Arnold interviews 22 professionals, releasing two new interviews per day over a 11-day period. Female nutritionists, doctors, herbalists, holistic therapists, authors, life coaches, entrepreneurs, hormone experts, and physical trainers have all been gathered to lend credence to the joy of seasoned womanhood.

"Living decades beyond midlife is still a newfangled phenomenon that many of us are now embracing. But for many of us, the thought of living beyond 50 for another 30, 40, or more years is shaded by fears of chronic disease, high medical bills and even living alone. Menopausal transition prepares the body, mind, and soul for that third stage in our lives where we actually can become masters of life as empresses and goddesses. The 'Women's Midlife Revolution Summit 2018' presents the opportunity to take action now and learn to understand and treat ourselves in ways that favor long healthy meaningful years and decades, to which we can gracefully look forward to," explains Arnold, who was born and grew up in Switzerland and has lived for the past 23 years on the island state of Trinidad and Tobago.

Some of the topics to be covered over the 11-day period include understanding of the physical, emotional, energetical and spiritual changes during midlife; how hormonal changes affect us; nutrition for the midlife cycle; preventing chronic disease; resurrection of the female archetype and inspiration and motivation to get moving with joy.

Some of the professionals who weigh in with their wisdom include Dr. Judith Boice, ND, LAc, FABNO, naturopathic doctor, licensed acupuncturist, and Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology; Jennifer Gibbons-Joseph, CPC, ELI-MP Managing Director of Conec Professional Life Coaching Services Ltd; Susun Weed, author of the Wise Woman Herbal series and the voice of the Wise Woman Tradition; Meiling, the tour de force behind her premier Caribbean fashion house; Yvonne Heath, author of "Love Your Life to Death"; and Makeda Smith, veteran entertainment industry publicist and creator of the FlyingOver50 dance movement brand.

COLUMBUS, Ohio /ScoopCloud/ -- International recovery coach Lauren Casey, PhD, has sold her memoir, "Breaking the Chains: Drugs, Millionaires and the Prisoner Who Set Me Free," to addiction recovery imprint Zephyr Bookshelf. Zephyr will be releasing the book in spring of 2019.

Dr. Casey's memoir is a shattering reflection of a life punctuated by drugs, jetting around the globe with millionaires, champagne, detox, rehab and an unlikely connection that ultimately saved her.

A deceptively complex story, Casey's book manages to be tragic, honest and inspiring, revealing as much about Casey as it does about the genuine hope that exists for everyone.

"I am deeply honored and humbled to be able to share my story," says Dr. Casey, adding, "I learned a long time ago that it's really not about me-it's about instilling hope for others."

Zephyr acquired the memoir via All the Write Moves, New York Times bestselling author Anna David's coaching program for writers, which walks 10 students at a time through the process of writing and selling their book proposals. Last month, Fuhr acquired a book from the previous group of students-Taming the Wild Things in My Head by David Griggs (to be released in late 2018).

‘FlyingOver50’ Granny Pole Dancer, Makeda Smith, Continues to Elevate Mature Women with New MercVille Productions Music Video

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Grandmother, publicist and pole dancer Makeda Smith, the creator behind the blog-turned-movement, FlyingOver50 (flyingover50.com), has once again teamed with Christina Villegas and Jeff Mercer, the owners of MercVille Productions, to create a mesmerizing pole dance music video.

Filmed as part of the production company's ongoing "Goddesses In Motion: A Pop Up Pole Video Shoot" series and produced by Flying Curves Dance Studio (https://www.flyingcurves.com/), the release catapults FlyingOver50's continued quest to encourage 'mature' women to reclaim their femininity through dance, fitness and the art of simply moving their bodies. Directed by Villegas, the 57-year-old pole dancing granny fluidly rotates around a pole in nine-inch heel Pleaser Shoes while lusciously combining pole tricks with dance movement.

This is Makeda's third collaboration with MercVille Productions. The company first featured her last year in "The Pole Dancing Chronicles"(https://www.youtube.com/mightygriptv). Sponsored and co-produced by Mighty Grip Inc., a leading worldwide sporting goods manufacturer, "The Pole Dancing Chronicles" showcases people and events from within the pole and aerial community in an effort to dispel myths and misconceptions around the growing art form.

The working couple created the "Goddesses In Motion" pop-up video series as a platform for amateur pole dancers to experience being professionally filmed while performing to a song selection of their choice. The mini-productions result in a two-minute music video feature that the dancers can share across social media and with friends and family.

Christina Villegas, a former reality show producer, who in conjunction with co-owning MercVille Productions also owns and operates Flying Curves Dance Studio, notes, "'Goddesses in Motion' is another extension of my vision to propel women to be their best selves, regardless of what society tells us about size or age or color. Putting 'everyday' women in front of a camera and capturing their inner essence is what this work is about. When we see ourselves on film, it becomes an expansion process. The women actually get to 'see' another dimension of their beautiful selves expressed and amplified!"

In addition to running her Jazzmyne Public Relations agency, Makeda offers dance workshops, classes and private lessons to women, while targeting those 50 and older. She also blogs weekly at FlyingOver50.com with positive affirmations that she combines with her pole and aerial photography.

"The 'Goddesses In Motion' pop-up videos are an amazing opportunity offering artistic expression to women who normally would not have access to such a venture," she explains. "As a veteran entertainment industry publicist, I have worked behind the scenes on sets with a host of well-known celebrities. It is a tremendous feeling to be in front of the camera and one that I wish every woman could experience."

She adds, "I share these videos with my social media followers in the hopes of inspiring all women, but particularly older women, to nurture their femininity and pursue their dreams without age becoming a factor. I personally believe that women, like wine, grow better with time and we can indeed fly over 50."

Makeda is currently celebrating the 30th year anniversary of her agency, Jazzmyne Public Relations as she takes her FlyingOver50 pole and dance movement practice to new heights.

National Infertility Week culminates with release of documentary film, ‘The Empty Womb’

SANTA FE, N.M. /ScoopCloud/ -- Award-winning filmmaker, Betsy Chasse, announces inaugural release of her eagerly anticipated documentary, "The Empty Womb," marking the end of National Infertility Week. A depiction of the griefs infertility, "The Empty Womb" film features humanitarian artist, Robbi Firestone, who shares her infertility/IVF journey through art; "The Empty Womb" museum installation.

The 18-minute film explores in detail the silent, raw emotions infertile women suffer after failed invitro fertilization (IVF) cycles.

Best known as the Co-Creator (Co-Director, Writer, Producer) of "What the Bleep Do We Know," Betsy Chasse created the category of Spiritual Cinema, crafting media inspiring transformation.

Chasse describes "The Empty Womb" as so: "It's not just about infertility; it invokes a rare exploration of truly authentic communication. Women are speaking up, exploring sisterhood, teaching girls to express true feelings. In the film, Firestone inquires, 'Since when did telling the truth become bravery?'"

"The Empty Womb" project initiates a worldwide movement to unleash the silent, isolating and secretive experiences resulting from infertility.

Firestone's artwork and Chasse's film screened March 2018 in parallel with the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women by Tess Caccitore's "GWEN."

Nation Infertility Week culminates as Firestone's work begins; in Delhi, India, she was conferred the prestigious Iconic Women Bettering the World for All award by WEF.

Firestone says, "Gender Officers such as Georgia Gage, Republic of Liberia, have expressed that girls as young as 11 are labeled infertile after months of marriage. Immediately divorced, she is stigmatized; cursed. Rejected by family and community, she is vulnerable and impoverished; easily absorbed into sex trafficking.

"United Nations NGOs don't represent her. In Ghana, Liberia, India, this child is an ignored 'issue' -- I wanted to be a biological mother. This work supporting infertile girls and women chose me instead."

At New Mexico Philharmonic's Arts and Music Festival Firestone discussed "Art as Alchemy," at the National Museum for Natural History and Science, April 2018. A licensed RScP, Firestone runs a desperately needed coaching business connecting mental health professionals (themselves biologically infertile) to infertile women.

To heal her own experience, Firestone constructed "The Empty Womb" art of her own IVF supplies. Syringes, bloody alcohol swabs, etc., are crocheted into "Baby Blankets," with titles inquiring, "Did Invitro Kill Your Marriage?" or "Are You Willing to Die for your Hearts Desire?"

Firestone's fierce, provoking, raw, despairing, enlightening museum installation, "The Empty Womb," is the first to tackle this timely topic.

Startup Empowers Girls to Learn, Grow, Dream – and Build Startups

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. /ScoopCloud/ -- Girls Inspired Globally is a new startup that seeks to allow young women to improve themselves and the world through imaginative use of readily available technologies like smart phone apps, online video, and social media.

According to co-founder and COO Soani Gunawan, "Young people are often accused of wasting incredible amounts of time on social networks and cell phones, and many do. But the same tools can be used to create amazing growth experiences."

Examples: In France, a young woman conducts a worldwide online participatory experiment to explore and feel rare culturally specific emotions such as hygge, sabsung, and shinrin-yoku.

In India, a college student works on an interactive multi-player online video game which invites participants from around the world to cooperate instead of compete.

In China, a teenager builds a startup that utilizes the branch of AI known as Swarm Intelligence to predict which films and TV shows will gain public acclaim.

In California another girl cooperates with a partner in Ghana to import handmade cotton dashikis produced by a Fair Trade social enterprise.

Members of GIG come from 26 countries and range in age from 16 to 68.

Says Director of Strategy John Toomey, "Every project we support must contain five elements: it must help the world in some meaningful way, encourage skill building, promote friendship, inspire others, and last but not least, be FUN."

According to Educational Director Amy Chang, the process is similar whether a young woman is building a non-profit, a startup, a video game, a charity, an online museum, an NGO, a Fair Trade social enterprise, or a group psychology experiment.

A girl comes up with an idea for a project. Then she
1. Uses GIG's network to find passionate partners;

2. Builds project pages on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, Google +, Reddit, Imgur, and LinkedIn. (One of the lessons GIG teaches is that each social network and media channel has a different audience and personality, and must be approached appropriately.)

3. Announces the project to the world with press releases

4. Uses GIG's resources to append expert authority and celebrity attention to the project.

Along the way women practice skills that our modern connected world benefits from, but that are rarely taught in schools: building social media followings, mind mapping, crowdfunding, using press releases to test concepts, and group brainstorming.

The group's philosophy is especially attractive to students, and chapters are forming at Cambridge, Princeton, Yale, Berkeley, Stanford, Harvard, and Oxford.

MIAVINO Sensual Introduces Wine Flavored Edible Massage Oils in Time for Valentine’s Day

HOUSTON, Texas /ScoopCloud/ -- Just how far can the nation's growing taste for wine go? The owners of MIAVINO Sensual, Frank and Miranda Brown, decided it also had to go into their premium edible massage oils. Houston, Texas-based, MIAVINO Sensual has introduced an exclusive line of ultra-lightweight, premium, edible massage oils in four palate-pleasing, full-bodied wine flavors designed to take your entire sensual massage experience to a whole sexy new level.

"As young aspiring entrepreneurs it was always our dream to own our own business. We wanted to pursue a business that was close to our hearts, and we had a deep passion for it to succeed," said Miranda. "My husband asked me 'what is your passion'? I responded, 'wine and intimacy.' At that point we looked at each other and MIAVINO Sensual was born."

As we began market research we found there was not a product on the market that combined the wine aromas, taste, and glide for an all-in-one sensual, edible massage oil. Yes, we found the typical strawberry champagne and grape-flavored lotions and oils, but nothing with sophisticated wine flavors, that were water-soluble, ultra-lightweight, edible, and that offered the superior glide needed to perform a truly sensual massage.

It was also important to us to create a premium brand with tremendous appeal; one with class, luxury, and elegance, while striking that sensual, sexy factor. We also wanted to be sure it was delivered from an actual wine bottle.

MIAVINO offers 4 intoxicatingly delicious, water-based (non-greasy) flavors designed to please every nose and palate. They include Sexy Reds: Velvet Cherry Merlot and Sangria Mandarin Seduction and Sexy Whites: Passion Sauvignon Rosé and Chardonnay Crush.

The massage oils are available in both 2 ounce and 5.5 ounce sizes, and retail at $10.95 and $24.95 on the company's website, https://miavinosensual.com/.

To further the total sensory experience, the company also offers companion wine-scented 2 ounce candles which retail for $10. MIAVINO Sensual products are also offered at wholesale pricing for qualified resellers.

According to Frank Brown, "We've witnessed the growing lifestyle trend toward a love of wine, so we are thrilled to augment a trend we believe is here to stay, with our top-shelf, wine-flavored edible massage oils. MIAVINO's edible massage oils will awaken the senses, increase desire and broaden one's entire sensory massage experience. The scent, taste, and tactile experience of our massage oils will take your massage experience to a new level."

"MIAVINO Sensual's edible massage oils are sugar-free, non-alcoholic, paraben-free, gluten-free, vegan-free, and are never tested on animals. They contain safe and effective ingredients that are perfect for even the most sensitive of skins," said Miranda.

"We want you to be able to enhance your partner's pleasure and satisfy your cravings for a deliciously sensual experience. Our formulas leave skin smooth and supple, not sticky or tacky," said Miranda Brown. "Our products guarantee pure wine indulgence - without the headaches and calories! MIAVINO lends a whole new meaning to 'Happy Hour,'" added Miranda.

Winter Storm Doesn’t Slow Pace as Thousands Brave the Worst and Find Their Best at Third Prelim of 44th Annual Colgate Women’s Games

BROOKLYN, N.Y. /ScoopCloud/ -- Pratt Institute: Thousands of young track stars braved the East Coast's historic snowstorm to compete at the third preliminary meet of nation's largest amateur track series for women, the 44th annual Colgate Women's Games. From Boston to Georgia, girls of all abilities from elementary school through college and beyond continued to improve, with many leaders achieving nationally ranked scores.

Friday in the High School division, sprint champion Iantha Wright of Jamaica, Queens, won the 55M in a fast 7.16, recapturing the lead from Manhattan's Brianna White of Leman High School who finished second in 7.21. Last week, White earned her first victory in two seasons chasing the reigning champion Wright, who's a year older and a year ahead in school. White also finished second in the 200M in 26.36, just behind Dominique Jackson of Bronx's Pelham Prep Academy who crossed the tape in 25.87 for the win.

Jackson is rising fast, improving from fourth place to win this weekend's Colgate Games 200M, then followed up Friday's victory with a personal season's record 200M time of 25.27 in the Women's Varsity division of the Hispanic Games on Saturday at the Armory Track, NYC. Her second place win there was especially notable for a field that included Colgate Women's Games' leaders Sophia Myers, Iantha Wright, and Brianna White finishing 3rd through 5th respectively.

Hurdles champion Sophia Myers of Queens High School of Teaching remains undefeated with a 55MH win in 8.28. Myers met new competition from a young Stephanie Graves, a 10th grader at Queen's High School of Law Enforcement and Public Safety, who competed in her first Colgate Games' hurdles event and came in second with her own personal record 8.56.

Jasmine Douglas-Grant of Stroudsburg High School, Pennsylvania won the 400M in 59.59; Brooklyn's Adia Palmer of Bishop Loughlin won the 800M in 2:19.25, as New Jersey' s distance champion Athing Mu opted to run only the 1500M this week, which she won in her best time of the series, 4:51.86. Mu's win was also her latest personal best, after 10th first place wins in major meets where she broke personal records in distances from the 400M to the mile, throughout all of 2017.

Meet Director Cheryl Toussaint said, "While our sports news generally reports on top-ranked leaders, thousands of girls of every ability are learning to challenge themselves each week to find their own 'personal bests,' and that's what the Colgate Women's Games are really about."

"Through more than four decades of competition, countless girls who didn't reach the finals or may not have even scored points are among our greatest untold success stories," adds Toussaint. "Regardless of how they finish, their memories and the lessons they learn on the track have a positive impact that lasts a lifetime."

Also on Friday, two-time Colgate Women's Games' High Jump record holder, My'khiyah Williams of Brooklyn's Benjamin Banneker school, cleared the bar at 5'4" for the win, and Shot Put champion 15 year-old Mariam Cisse of Manhattan's Promise Academy, won with a toss of 11.13M.

In the Mid School Division on Saturday, 12 yr-old Avery Lewis of Westtown School in West Chester, PA continues to prove she's among the nation's best, with a 55M win in 7.12, just .22 shy of setting a fifth Colgate Women's Games' record. For some perspective, that's less than 1/2 the time it takes to blink. Lewis made it a third double win, with a 200M first place finish in 25.37.

Peyton Rollins of Andrews Middle School remains undefeated in the 55MH with a win in 8.31. Rollins who travels all the way from Massachusetts also shared the track with Lewis in the 200M, finishing third in 26.88, just a flash behind Simone Kelly of Wissachickon MS, Ambler, PA who finished second in 26.83; Kelly won the 400M in 1:00.22, followed by Brooklyn's Tai Sheppard of the Dock Street School crossing the tape in 1:01.32; Sheppard also placed second in the hurdles behind Rollins in 8.37.

Alina LaForest of Drexel Neumann Academy, Chester PA won the 800M in 2:20.72; her third consecutive win, and placed second in the 1500M (4:55.97) behind Tai's sister Rainn Sheppard who placed first in 4:55.97.

The Mid School High Jump finished in a three way tie with Bronx's Bianca Staples, Kayley Lynch of Northstar Academy, Newark, NJ, and Selah Dungey of St. Peter Academy, River Edge, NJ all clearing 4'10"; and Melissa Aymil of Mendham MS in Brookside, NJ remains undefeated in the shot put after a toss of 10.87M, her best of the season and a new personal record.

On Sunday in the Elementary B division 55M, Following last week's tie, Brooklyn's Kaela Swift of Success Academy Bed-Stuy beat Philadelphia's Amirah Nesmith by 1/100 of a second in a photo finish that shows Swift won by a nose in 7.91 to Nesmith's 7.92.

In the 55MH, fifth place Kamilah Alabi of PS15 Queens, ran 10.67 for a first place win; In the 200M, Brianna Lindo of Queen's Riverton Street Charter School, also scored an upset victory, with a win in 28.6 over Kaela Swift (28.92); In the 400M and 800M Colgate Women's Games champion Damira Allen of Chester School of the Arts, Chester PA, retained a perfect season record with a third double win in the 400M (1:04.14) just ahead of Lindo (1:04.37), and the 800M in 2:26.87; and in the High Jump, Avery Hart of Pierce School, Brookline MA cleared the bar at 4'2" for her third consecutive win.

Additional results for College/Open and Elementary A and 30's Plus division events are available at colgategames.com/results.

East Coast Track Stars Heat Up Cold New Year’s Eve Second Prelim of The 44th Annual Colgate Women’s Games

BROOKLYN, N.Y. /ScoopCloud/ -- Rising young stars and returning champions from all over the East Coast shared the spotlight throughout this holiday weekend at the second preliminary meets of the nation's largest women's amateur track and field series, the Colgate Women's Games. Extreme cold temps had little effect on top contenders, some who come from as far as New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Virginia and Georgia, as they continue to improve an already fast national pace.

Friday in the High School division, Manhattan sprinter Brianna White of Leman High School stepped up a notch with an impressive double win in the 55M (7.24) and the 200m (25.89). Her 55M race was her first victory in two seasons over reigning champion Iantha Wright of Jamaica, Queens, and her 200M win earns White her fourteenth first place sprint victory in major meets throughout 2017.

Returning hurdles champion Sophia Myers of Queens High School of Teaching, won the 55MH in 8.21; continuing an undefeated streak that began week one of last season's series.

Brooklyn's Daniella Griffith of Medgar Evers Prep won the 400 Meters in 1:00.16; Athing Mu of Trenton High School in New Jersey scored her second consecutive double win with improved times in both distance events, crossing the tape first in the 800M (2:18.81) and 1500M (4:53.82). In the High Jump, with event champion My'Khiyah Williams out this week, Phoebe Myers of Young Women's Leadership School cleared the bar at 5'2" for the win; and Manhattan's Mariam Cisse won the Shot Put with a toss of 10.78M.

In the Mid School Division on Saturday, 12 yr-old Avery Lewis of Westtown School in West Chester, PA remains one of the fastest young sprinters in the nation, scoring another double win in the 55M (7.19) and 200M (25.15). The four-time Colgate Women's Games sprint record-holder's performance in the 200M was another personal record for Lewis. Having won the 55M at the first preliminary meet in another personal best (7.16), officials said her times are likely among the fastest in the nation for a twelve year-old this year.

Meet Director Cheryl Toussaint said, "Avery continues to bring her A game each season, and her participation has created an especially high level of excitement ever since she began competing in our Elementary A division. She's also an excellent student as well as a phenomenal athlete."

Toussaint adds that the Colgate Women's Games strive to retain a welcoming atmosphere for athletes of all abilities. "Our goal is to help girls of all ages build self-esteem through friendly competition, encouraging them to discover and then challenge their own limits," she said.

Toussaint said the Colgate Women's Games have become a proving ground, drawing top athletic talent and have produced hundreds of national champions, and with last summer's six alumnae Olympic Team USA, 26 former Olympians. More importantly, she adds they continue to have a positive effect on countless lives over more than four decades.

"The number of participants and the size of the crowds made up of families and friends, some who travel great distances is evidence the Colgate Women's Games continue to be such an important event, and we are so pleased that thousands of participants and their families chose to celebrate their New Year's weekend with us in Brooklyn this weekend."

In the Mid School Division on Saturday, Peyton Rollins of Andrews Middle School was among those who travelled the furthest to compete, all the way from Massachusetts to win the 55MH in 8.31. Rollins, who placed second overall at last year's Colgate Women's Games, had more than a dozen first place wins in hurdles races at major regional meets throughout 2017.

Simone Kelly of Wissahickon Middle School in Ambler, PA won the the 400M in 59.61; Last year's first place finalist Alina LaForest of Drexel Neumann Academy, Chester, PA won the 800M in 2:21.10; Brooklyn's Rainn Sheppard of MS 313 won the 1500M in 4:53.70; and Rowan Houston of Rye Country Day School cleared the High Jump bar at 5'2" for her second win and personal best jump. Melissa Aymil of Mendham Middle School in Brookside, NJ retains her lead in the shot put with a personal best toss of 10.65M.

Among Sunday, New Years Eve's Elementary School B division highlights; Philadelphia's Amirah Nesmith, last year's first place finalist in the 200M, ran a 55M tie with Brooklyn's Kaela Swift of Success Academy Bed-Stuy, both finishing in 7.9. Swift won the 55M at the first prelim in 7.88.

Damira Allen of Chester School of the Arts, Chester PA, last year's Colgate Women's Games' Division A 800M finals champion and Special Awards winner for "Outstanding Competitor....", now leads Division B after winning the 800M at Prelim 1 in 2:26.68 and Prelim 2 in 2:27.52. Both personal best times for the 10 year-old, multiple Gold-medal Junior Olympic champion. Allen has an astonishing record of more than 40 first place middle and distance race wins at major regional and national mets in her age division since 2015.

At 14, Married Off to a 26-Year-Old Ex-Convict: What This Child Bride Survivor Did With Her Story

DALLAS, Texas /ScoopCloud/ -- Texas ranks number 2 with the highest number of child marriages. Child bride survivor, Trevicia Williams, helped lawmakers outlaw forced marriages in Texas and step in the direction of ending child marriages when she courageously became the face of the problem as she shared her jaw dropping testimony, and, on June 1, bolstered her advocacy work by writing a heartfelt letter to Governor Greg Abbott urging him to sign SB 1705.

She shared how, at 14, she was picked up from high school by her mother, carried to Justice of the Peace court, married off to a 26 year old man recently out of prison, and, slept on the floor of the church that helped arrange the marriage. On the list of new laws in Texas effective September 1, is a stricter marriage law; however, 16 and 17 year olds can still marry with the approval of a judge or if they have been legally emancipated from their parents.

Williams says there's still work to do. "Most women that I've coached during my 'I Love You, But, I Can't Stand You Right Now' healthy mother daughter relationship seminar admit that they were not psychologically mature enough to handle being in a serious relationship during their teenage years and want their daughters to enjoy being girls," says Williams.

A Frontline.com report shows that over 200,000 child marriages have taken place in America since 2,000, 90% of them being girls. Texas is on America's leader board with some 40,000 children under the age of 18 married between 2000 and 2014. Williams feels strongly that the minimum age for marriage should be at least 18 in all 50 states.

She recently served as a panelist during a Tahirih Justice Center sponsored Falling Through the Cracks: A Conversation on Child Marriage in Today's America consultation that was moderated by renowned journalist Gayle Tzemach Lemmon. of PBS, noting that "Child marriage is a mindset problem that must be changed." Understanding the power of a survivor's voice and story, she also shared her written testimony with Florida legislators during their October 24th hearing on SB 140 on banning child marriages which was unanimously voted in favor of. The new law would mandate that the minimum age for marriage is 18 with no exceptions.

"As with my experience, girls who are in underage marriages suffer many things including domestic violence, restrictions on access to education, stifled social development due to isolation, fewer opportunities to grow and advance, poor and inadequate health care and lack of knowledge about their rights," said Williams.

There are many consequences associated with early marriage. Domestic violence is one of them. All too often, the public hears stories about domestic violence involving adult women like the recent news about Ezekiel Elliott and ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Thomas. Those stories are awful and unacceptable. Adding to the issue, few people know the number of underage girls who are in arranged and forced marriages and suffering domestic violence.

Williams said that her own experiences of being physically and psychologically abused during her child marriage and pregnancy is another reason that she became the face for the child marriage problem in Texas. "Domestic violence within child marriages is yet another way that the inherent vulnerabilities of underage girls is violated," says Williams.

"Not only was parental consent a mask for coercion and child abuse, it was also robbery of my childhood...years of normal academic, social and life skill developing teenage experiences that I can't get back," says Williams.

Consent is another aspect of child marriages that's oftentimes overlooked. Whether you're talking about Bill Cosby, DeMario and Corrine on Bachelor in Paradise or Savannah, the Alabama teen who reported being raped by a popular football player or a child bride, consent is the focal point. Many states have established an age floor for sexual consent between 16 and 18, but, child marriages enable people to bypass statutory rape laws.

The new Texas marriage law means new marriage license guidelines for county clerks, and, perhaps fewer under aged marriage related divorces for family lawyers. Jacquelyn Floyd of the Dallas Morning News commended Williams for helping to outlaw forced child marriages in Texas noting that, for once, she's proud of her state.

"Being a high school freshman should have been a prohibitive factor to me becoming a child bride. However, due to Texas' parental consent legal loophole that was previously on the law books, it wasn't. Now, it is, and, I'm happy about what that means for protecting the childhood and potentials of girls all over Texas," said Williams.

About Real Beauty Inside Out:

Trevicia Williams, Ph.D., a child marriage survivor, advocate and motivational speaker, went on to found The Institute for Full Potential Living through which she runs a program called Real Beauty Inside Out to foster healthy mother, daughter and family relationships. She has helped countless moms and daughters work through their differences through her popular, "I Love You, But, I Can't Stand You Right Now" seminars and book. She also inspires, motivates and empowers women, staff, and, members of organizations through her inspirational speeches and learning and development training at conferences throughout the year.

The magazine also recognized the phenomenal results LBA Ware has achieved over the last year, including a 300 percent increase in clients. In New Book, Renowned Pediatric Heart Surgeon Credits Her All-Girl School Education for Her Success

DALLAS, Texas /ScoopCloud/ -- As kids across the country get ready to go back to school, Dr. Kristine Guleserian, one of the nation's most accomplished pediatric heart surgeons, thinks back on her early school days very fondly. Guleserian is the co-author, with Mark Oristano, of "Surgeon's Story: Inside OR-1 with One of America's Top Pediatric Heart Surgeons" (ISBN: 978-1935953777).

Dr. G, as she's known to one and all, attended the Winsor School in Boston, and she credits the education she got there with starting her down the road to her current status as one of the country's top children's heart surgeons. In "Surgeon's Story," Dr. Guleserian described the teacher who opened up her world.

"One day the Greek teacher, Mrs. Dorothy Souvaine, wrote out the entire Greek alphabet and a few simple Greek words. The first word she wrote down was 'Bios,' meaning life. And then she wrote 'Logos,' meaning study of. 'Bioslogos.' So, biology - the study of life. I was fascinated. If I studied and became proficient in Greek, I could dissect out every word and understand its true meaning, I figured I'd have the fundamentals to understand anything."

"When I told my father that I was going to make Classics my concentration at Harvard he said, 'What are you gonna do with a degree in Greek? Go back and teach at the Winsor School?' When I went back to Boston for my 30th Winsor School reunion I found out they don't offer Greek anymore. They teach Chinese now."

Dr. G had another significant chance to visit Winsor in 2011, to lecture to the young girls sitting where she sat years before.

"I went back to the Winsor School in 2011 to give the annual Virginia Wing lecture. Miss Wing was the headmistress of the Winsor School when I was there. When I was a student at the Winsor School Dr. Tenley Albright, a gold medal Olympic figure skater who became a general surgeon, spoke to the student body in the very same assembly room I was in now. Dr. Albright's speech made a huge impression on me. I thought, 'Wow, a woman can be a surgeon!' And now I, a woman and a surgeon, was speaking to the student body. I can go to a surgical conference and they'll all listen to what I have to say. But in room full of students, I feel like everybody's listening, and the impact I can make there is huge."

Dr. Guleserian was the Surgical Director of Pediatric Cardiac Transplantation at Children's Medical Center in Dallas from 2007 to 2017. She is now on staff at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, where she is starting up a cardiac transplant program.

Introducing Luma Wealth Advisors – Understanding Women’s Wealth Needs

CLEVELAND, Ohio /ScoopCloud/ -- Is there a benefit to having a financial advisor focused on women? For many women, the answer is probably "yes" and the recently launched Luma Wealth Advisors is ready to meet their planning needs.

Luma Wealth Advisors was established to provide women with personalized wealth planning, experienced investment management, and a supportive, enriching community where they can learn and connect with other women facing the same issues as they are.

Research has found that many affluent women are dissatisfied with the financial services industry and have had poor advisory experiences. A 2011 study, titled "Women of Wealth: Why Does the Financial Services Industry Still Not Hear Them?" was co-authored by Heather Ettinger, founder of Luma Wealth Advisors. Published by The Family Wealth Advisors Council, the study showed that many women feel they are not being heard or respected, and their needs are generalized as homogeneous "women's issues."

Luma Wealth Advisors uses a team approach focused on getting to know each client, including their professional goals, financial concerns, and dreams for the future.

"We understand that there are different types of women with different needs, and that every woman is unique," says Heather Ettinger. "Since there is no one-size-fits-all approach, we tailor wealth planning to each client. And with a deep understanding of their personal situation, we build, implement and monitor their personalized investment strategy."

According to Ken Coleman, a leader of Luma Wealth, "Those experiencing a life transition are especially likely to benefit from having the support of an advisor focused on women." Over the course of time, many women change careers, find themselves sandwiched between aging parents and growing children, get divorced or lose their spouse. "We help women plan for the expected and prepare for the unexpected."

Providing community is another important aspect of what Luma Wealth Advisors offers to its clients, with a host of educational programs on topics including investing, raising financially responsible children, and building a sustainable advisory board for business owners.

"We offer a variety of social and informational events for clients to have fun, learn, make connections and celebrate women," says Emily A. Drake, CFP(R) and Luma Wealth advisor. "And we are deeply committed to helping empower women."

Luma Wealth Advisors is a financial advisory firm operating as a division of Fairport Asset Management, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. For more information, please contact Kristen Lucas at kristen.lucas@lumawealth.com or call 866-995-6819.

Mighty Grip Inc. and MercVille Productions Release Second Season of ‘The Pole Dancing Chronicles’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Christina Villegas and Jeff Mercer, the creative forces behind MercVille Productions, have announced the release of the second season of their popular web based docu-series, "The Pole Dancing Chronicles." Sponsored and co-produced by Mighty Grip Inc., a leading worldwide sporting goods manufacturer, "The Pole Dancing Chronicles" showcases people and events from within the pole and aerial community.

With the growing recognition of pole dance and aerial art as respected fitness regimens, "The Pole Dancing Chronicles," provides an insider's peek into the sport and the people behind it, highlighting, in particular, men and women who are defying societal expectations and are excelling within the field.

The second season launched with an episode on 56-year-old pole artist Makeda Smith. A grandmother and entertainment publicist, Smith has garnered international media attention for her poling acumen at her advanced age. The second episode of season two covers "Chronicles" producer Villegas and details her love for the art as well as her intention and motivation to create and produce "The Pole Dancing Chronicles" with her partner Mercer. Episode three, the most recent feature, highlights acclaimed multi-championship pole performance artist, Nadia Sharif, a former engineer turned dancer and instructor.

Former docu-reality producers for network television, Mercer and Villegas formed MercVille Productions in 2013 with a goal to create entertaining, inspiring, and informative stories about everyday people. A pole and burlesque instructor, Villegas also opened her dance studio, Flying Curves Dance Studio in 2013. After teaching pole dancing and empowerment through movement to women on and off for nine years while also working in reality TV, she decided to combine her love and passion for pole with her passion for video storytelling and production.

When Villegas began producing "Goddesses Empowered: The Show," a live pole and burlesque show, she was inspired by the various tales, trials and tribulations of her students. She felt that the compelling stories of women who had evolved through pole dancing needed a global platform and the idea for "The Pole Dancing Chronicles" was born. Mighty Grip, a wholesale distributor and online sporting goods store, came on board in 2015 and in 2016 the season debuted with eight shows, which were released online monthly.

"We have met so many wonderful and talented people that have opened their arms and hearts to us," expresses Villegas.

"Pole and aerial is an emerging art and is often misunderstood," adds Mercer. "Our series not only introduces a larger audience to the sport, dispelling myths and concerns, but also serves as a tool of empowerment and motivation within the pole and aerial community."

Mighty Grip, Inc. is widely recognized for their popular grip aids for athletes. Stephanie Housel, President and COO of Mighty Grip, Inc., initiated launching the brand into the pole world, universalizing the use of the product among pole and aerial enthusiasts internationally. "We are honored to offer 'The Pole Dancing Chronicles' as an important vehicle for sharing personal stories about the world of pole and aerial dance," cites Housel. "As one of the leading providers of grip aids, gloves, and protective gear for pole and aerial artists, 'The Pole Dancing Chronicles' allows us to stay in touch and in tune with our client base on a personal level. Our customers are real people with real stories, and we are excited to share them with the world."

Season two of "The Pole Dancing Chronicles" consists of 10 episodes released monthly online through to 2018.

Author Mahogany Star Sizzles with Sexy Sequence of Summertime Book Releases

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. /ScoopCloud/ -- Author Mahogany Star brings the sizzle to summertime reading with a sexy sequence of new book releases. Star's new titles, "Sex Degrees of Separation" and "Summer's Heat" are sure fire temperature boosters for readers who aren't afraid of the steam.

Fans of urban erotica are in for a delicious literary treat. Simmering with fervor, pulsing with passion and boiling over with drama, Star's novels provide a double dose of sensual desire with their back to back releases. The works also serve to cement Star's position in the urban literary realm with four solid contributions. "Where Secrets Lie, What You Do In the Dark..." and "Where Secrets Lie, Pt. 2, Saying I Do" marked the author's introduction and captured reader's imaginations with female characters that were sassy, street smart and ambitious. Her uncanny ability to intermingle lives, relationships and sexual menageries not only engaged readers but also garnered her recognition with an "Urban Book Source Top Ten" nod.

With her third book, "Sex Degrees of Separation," Star lends a wicked twist to the commonality of 'six degrees of separation.' An erotic anthology, each short story unfolds one by one and climaxes in an epilogue with all the characters connected to each other via coincidence at a grand gala. Star's exploration of sexual appetites and urges and the measures individuals take to experience pleasure, provokes not only amusing imaginings but also serious introspection.

The concept of 'degrees of separation' takes on added dimensions as Star delves deep not only into the bedroom, but the hearts and minds of her crew. Nina is the happily married mom whose husband has her on a strict and stingy schedule for intimate encounters. Mia's marriage discontent finds her in heavy rapport with another married man. Sara's husband derides her to lose weight, and she does, working off the pounds intimately with her personal trainer. Rob is coaxed by a buddy to step out on his wife and to discreetly pay for what he wants. When he does, he finds he wants to continue to add the extra pleasure billing to his monthly list of debts.

Summer in "Summer's Heat" is one of the beautiful and lustful creatures from "Sex Degrees." "Summer's Heat" is her spellbinding journey from the streets of Brooklyn to the condos of Manhattan. Utilizing her supermodel looks, intelligence and street sophistication, Summer finds herself living her dream life while working as a madam and call girl. When true romance sidetracks her however, life forces her to choose between her love for her man and her love for her money.

Mahogany Star was born and raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, N.Y. She grew up in the notorious Sumner Housing Project. Living in the projects during the crack era she spent most of her free time indoors writing short stories. After years of sharing her creativity with her friends, she decided to expand on one of her tales and a full-fledged novel was born. Though working in healthcare administration for more than a decade and moving up the corporate ladder, Star always knew that writing was her gift and she pursued self-publishing. She currently resides in Long Island, New York with her husband and two children.

"Sex Degrees of Separation" and "Summer's Heat" add new meaning to hot fun in the summertime! They are available on Amazon at http://a.co/4jdMe0M and http://a.co/e2q3NFv and wherever books are sold.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. /ScoopCloud/ -- Minnesota poet Georgia Lundeen, who made a name in verse through her popular blog Shrinks Aren't Cheap, is set to release her first physical collection of works, titled "Spare" (ISBN: 978-1-940129-69-3), on April 21, 2017, Vegetarian Alcoholic Press announced today.

Body Pillow Therapy – An All-Natural Method of Physical Therapy During Sleep

CHICAGO, Ill. /ScoopCloud/ -- The world is finally waking up to healing their bodies during sleep. Body Pillow Therapy(TM) from Earthy Pillows (formerly The Curvy Pillow Company) is a new concept in maintaining proper posture for comfort and healing during rest and recovery from injury.

Pam Blumenthal, the creator of the all-natural head and body dual-pillow sleep system called Body Pillow Therapy(TM), contends that "Setting your body up (when you go to bed) with the natural kapok-filled Curvy Head Pillow and Body Pillow Therapy Body Pillow will give your whole body a stable supportive environment for restorative rest as well as injury recovery."

Body Pillow Therapy is a new concept in maintaining proper posture for comfort and healing during rest and recovery from injury. Specially positioning oneself with the therapeutic head and body pillow allows the body to achieve a state of profound comfort and relaxation for healthy rest and the promotion of healing. There are various positions that physical therapists have found helpful for specific injuries.

More information on the therapeutic positions can be found on the company's website: http://www.bodypillowtherapy.com/.

The Body Pillow Therapy(TM) Body Pillow is available on Amazon for $59 plus shipping. Link to Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0043ERIHC.

Washable 100% cotton cover sold separately for $26 plus shipping. Link to Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0043FQFQG.

The Body Pillow Therapy Sleep Set which includes head and body pillow and washable 100% cotton covers costs $125 for small set and $150 for large set. Link to Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K55V7NO.

According to one owner/reviewer of the product: "I bought this pillow to provide leg and back support due to pain I was having. I haven't had the pain wake me at night since the pillow arrived in my home. It doesn't lose shape and is long enough for me to vary positions. It provided exactly what I needed. I've recommended it to anyone who asked!"

Created in 1988, the Original All-Natural Body Pillow Therapy(TM) Body Pillow was the very first body pillow on the market. Soon after its creation, it was discovered by physical therapists as a special positioning tool to help with patients' rest and recovery. As the company evolved, they paired a special, curvy head pillow along with the original body pillow, and thus the Body Pillow Therapy(TM) Sleep Set was born. The Body Pillow Therapy Sleep Set provides total body comfort and healthy posture from head to toe.
