Startup Designs Nasal Respirator to Protect Airways While Freeing the Mouth

WINTERS, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Modern Mammoth Technologies, LLC, is announcing the launch of a unique nasal respirator to provide more protection to more people-especially the frontline heroes. Modern Mammoth is a startup founded by two veterinarians, Dr's Valerie Fournier and Alejandro Garcia.

Hero Mammoth is an air filtration device that can use a wide array of filters, including N95 and high MERV. This device is versatile, extraordinarily comfortable and most of all, it is unique in the fact that keeps your mouth free to communicate.

Their team conceptualized and designed a nose-focused respirator after one of the founders was exposed to wildfire smoke at the Camp Fire in 2018 while working as a volunteer veterinary responder.

Hero Mammoth uses anatomically focused design to integrate a nasal dilator and detachable respirator. This focused design means less filter material is needed, resulting in a more ecofriendly and economical solution.

"Right now, face masks are being reinvented in many different ways. Hero isn't designed to replace a face mask - it's something which can be used with a mask for an extra level of protection, or on its own. It's a whole different product," says Dr. Fournier.

After the 2018 California wildfire season, the effect of breathing in smoke and other contaminants became evident. Lingering cough, fatigue, and headaches were all common complaints.

"It was serendipity really. Previously, we had been working on a nasal dilator to help us breathe better while hiking and last year, while testing, we discovered the unique weight-bearing properties of this device. Now, it became our core technology and base to produce the nasal respirator," said Dr. Garcia.

Since early 2019, work on Hero nasal respirator and Silent Mammoth, the nose dilator, has plugged along. Then at the end of the year, tragedy in the form of SARS-COV2 struck.

Dr. Fournier, who also holds a degree in public health said, "Part of the veterinarians' oath is to protect the public health, and we are scaling our efforts to bring this to production as soon as possible."

Dr. Garcia agrees. "I want people to be able to go to work and feel protected. I want it to be affordable. I don't want them to be constrained to having to buy expensive filters through us, and wait for it to get there. If they only have 1900 filters-they can use that! I want people to feel safe. We can't go forward like this, really. We can't wear masks all day, all the time," says Dr Garcia.

The respirator is specially designed to be taken apart, cleaned, and reused. This lessens environmental impact, leading to less discard in the landfills.

The cartridges can be loaded with any filter material, and it only takes minimal skill with a pair of scissors. Simply cut a small strip to fit and wrap the inner cartridge. The external clip protects the filter material so it lasts longer and you don't have to touch it.

The facial gasket is soft foam with an internal stainless-steel structure and additional foam sealing strip around the edge. The user can bend the gasket and apply the sealing strip as best suits them, which leads to a better fit. Most users can tell if they have a gap and adjust the gasket to compensate.

This nose respirator also includes the option of a copper mesh insert to protect the filter material. Copper has been shown through extensive research to have broad antimicrobial qualities.

Thus far the project has been self-financed. To begin mass production they decided to reach out for help. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, many traditional avenues such as face to face networking aren't possible.

In these times, adaptability is key, which is why a Kickstarter campaign was decided on to get front line funding.

Modern Mammoth will be launching their product for presales on crowdfunding platform Kickstarter on May 19, 2020.

ARMCO Launches ACESXPRESS for Early Payment Defaults

DENVER, Colo. /ScoopCloud/ -- ACES Risk Management (ARMCO), the leading provider of enterprise quality management and control software for the lending industry, announced the release of ACESXPRESS(TM) for Early Payment Defaults (EPDs) to bolster lenders' existing audit programs in light of the recent increases in required monthly EPD audit volume.

"With unemployment figures on the rise due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the industry is bracing itself for a sharp increase in the number of EPDs on recently originated loans. Furthermore, EPDs are one of the strongest indicators of possible mortgage fraud, the likelihood of which also increases as borrowers feel a greater sense of urgency to secure financing for their home purchase," ARMCO CEO Trevor Gauthier said. "ACESXPRESS for EPDs provides a turnkey platform for managing sudden volume spikes in EPD audits while maintaining compliance with audit requirements. Because the system can be implemented within a week, ACESXPRESS for EPDs also minimizes the burden typically placed on existing staff when onboarding a new system, thus enabling lenders to begin realizing its benefits sooner."

Originally launched in 2016, ACESXPRESS delivers the power of the ACES Audit Technology(TM) platform in an easy-to-implement format for small and mid-sized lenders. Recognizing the need for a similar platform designed specifically for EPD audits, ARMCO refined the functionality of ACESXPRESS to deliver needed EPD audit support with a streamlined implementation timeframe. ACESXPRESS for EPDs includes:

* Minimal setup requirements and the ability to configure within a week;
* Full product support from ARMCO;
* Pre-configured audits, including ACES IQ for conducting EPD reviews; and
* A library of standard report templates.

"Responsiveness is key to managing loan quality," said Gauthier. "As economic and market conditions change, ARMCO is committed to delivering technology that supports lenders' audit needs and helps mitigate lending risk."

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Magnifi Group, Inc., announced today it is experiencing record early registration for its 10th Annual Spine IEP Fellows & Young Surgeons' Course (Spine Interactive Educational Program). The course will be conducted November 20-22 at The Fairmont Hotel, Austin, Texas.

A significant number of US Spine Fellowship Directors attribute the stepped-up early registration due to COVID-19.

Spine IEP Faculty member, Dr. R. Todd Allen, who serves as Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Spine Surgery at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and Director of the University's Spine Fellowship program, said, now more than ever, the incoming Spine and Neuro Fellowship class of 2020-2021 will significantly benefit from the Spine IEP Course.

"Given the current pandemic, final-year Orthopaedic residents looking ahead to their spine fellowships, have not had the opportunity to take full advantage of their final residency year when it comes to surgical electives - as they relate to didactic spine work, labs and clinical training," Dr. Allen said. Dr. Allen added that even those schools offering a Chief Resident Rotation have been impacted.

The Spine IEP Fellows & Young Surgeons' Course will be limited to 50 attendees to accommodate a didactics rotation schedule of 45 tables hosted by medical device and biologics companies. Four cadaver labs will also be offered during the intense 21/2 day course.

The Spine IEP has been specifically developed to educate spine and neurosurgery Fellows and Young Surgeons on current topics related to the practice of spine and neurosurgery, as well as to assist attendees with the transition from academics to practicing surgeon. The classroom format for the course is highly interactive; all sessions conclude with question/answer sessions and panel discussions.

Laura McClain, Course Coordinator, said she anticipates registration fill up as early as July/August. "The upcoming course will represent the largest gathering ever of Spine Fellows and Young Surgeons for an educational event of this kind," McClain said. "Our sponsors also recognize that this course represents a significant opportunity to expose their latest techniques, products and treatments to the next-generation of spine and neuro surgeons," McClain added.

The Spine IEP Fellows & Young Surgeons' Course is led by Dr. Frank Phillips, Professor and Director, Division of Spine Surgery and Fellowship Co-Director, Spine Surgery at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, Ill. To register: https://www.spine-iep.com/sfc/register.html

Innovation Technology Award Goes to OpenClose Loan Origination System

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. /ScoopCloud/ -- OpenClose(R), the industry-leading omni-channel loan origination system (LOS) and digital mortgage fintech provider, announced that it received PROGRESS in Lending Association's 2020 Innovation Award for its "truly game-changing solutions in the mortgage space." The award was given for OpenClose's newly combined end-to-end browser-based LOS, digital mortgage point-of-sale (POS) solution, native product and pricing engine (PPE), businesses intelligence (BI) capabilities, and RESTful API suite.

Award winners were selected by a panel of mortgage technology experts that selected winners based on each innovation's overall industry significance; the innovation's originality; the positive change the innovation made possible; the intangible efficiencies gained as a result of the innovation; and the hard cost and time savings that the innovation enables industry participants to achieve.

"We're ecstatic to be honored with this 2020 Innovation Award," said JP Kelly, president at OpenClose. "As PROGRESS in Lending acknowledged, we were the first to successfully create a single-source, 100 percent browser-based LOS and POS solution. The genesis of this model stemmed from us observing lenders having to deal with too many disparate technologies and vendors in order to automate digital lending processes, which can be prone to compatibility problems and increase cost per loan."

According to its website, PROGRESS in Lending states that while there are a lot of digital mortgage POS vendor offerings offering standalone solutions in the market, OpenClose was the ground-breaking vendor that decided to focus on developing the first truly consolidated digital mortgage POS and end-to-end multi-channel LOS solution offered by a single-source provider along with a native PPE, BI, and RESTful API suite.

We are the only mortgage fintech provider proven to implement a comprehensive, purely browser-based LOS with omni-channel digital lending capability," asserted Vince Furey, CRO at OpenClose. "As with any leader, our competitors are now copying our marketplace positioning, messaging and value proposition, but falling short. The entire team at OpenClose is appreciative of PROGRESS in Lending Association for recognizing our efforts with this award."

A complete list of the 2020 Innovation Award winners can be found on PROGRESS in Lending's website https://mymortgagemindset.com/the-2020-innovations-award-winners-are.

Hookona Books Presents, ‘Circumcision Scar,’ a Powerful Expose About Child Abuse, Sexual Mutilation, and the Oldest Cult Sacrifice in History

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Hookona Books is proud to release an intensely personal story that cuts close to home for everyone who values protecting children, First Amendment rights, and body integrity. "Circumcision Scar" (ISBN: 978-1734555806) is the unprecedented story about Jay J. Jackson's 35-year foreskin restoration and how Christian American doctors forced this mandate onto a nation.

Jackson also debunks the alleged health benefits of circumcision to expose a cultural bias bent on eradicating foreskins from existence.

Haunted by intensely vivid recurring nightmares since childhood, Jackson was in his 50s when he realized he was being tormented by repressed memories of his circumcision performed as an infant.

Jackson states, "We all possess memories of every moment we've ever experienced, but we're unable to access most of them without a powerful emotional trigger to bring them to the surface."

In his LGBTQ memoir, Jackson details the psychological torment his circumcision caused and the detrimental impact it had on his sexual function. In seeking treatment for his condition, Jackson was accosted and chased out of exam rooms by doctors who branded him immoral and perverse for suggesting circumcision is harmful. Jackson eventually found a surgeon sympathetic to his plight and agreed to treat him.

Jackson endured two experimental surgeries to repair the damage done to him at birth, only to be shunned by hospital nurses who refused to care for him because they didn't approve of what he'd done. Jackson explains, "Their behavior was childish and unprofessional. It's hard to believe circumcision is anything but cult doctrine when alleged professionals act like that for puritanical reasons alone."

Jackson's book debunks the alleged health benefits behind circumcision with facts and statistics, and he takes particular offense with comparing circumcision to a vaccine as a preventative for HIV/AIDS. "They used that exact argument for circumcision and syphilis a hundred years ago, but the statistics don't hold up. Foreskins aren't the plague, they're a natural part of the male anatomy. To call circumcision a vaccine is dangerous and delusional."

Jackson believes his book faces an uphill battle because most readers will refuse to hear the facts. "Circumcision is the oldest cult ritual in history, and it's rooted in religion. As a gay man, I know all too well that people are motivated to protect religion over children, and they'll say and do almost anything to uphold that bias."

Jackson equates circumcision forced upon any child as nothing less than sexual mutilation. "It's important for everyone to know, the doctor credited with making circumcision commonplace in America, was obsessed with circumcising all women too. Every child, boy or girl, has the right to be who they were born to be. No baby should be forced to undergo a surgical alteration at birth to remedy a malady that doesn't exist."

Jackson's book depicts how the results of his surgically restored foreskin were so convincing that his doctors, and even his husband of 30 years, believed he had a natural foreskin. But Jackson remained unsatisfied, and decades later, used manual stretching techniques to complete his transition. Techniques, Jackson points out, that date back to ancient times.

"Circumcision is a fundamental human rights violation, and restoring my foreskin was the cure. No one has the right to force surgical conformity onto children to make them fit their idea of morality."

Jackson's book details how Christian American doctors usurped First Amendment religious freedoms to mandate the oldest surgery in history onto a nation. The overzealousness used to sell circumcision to their patients included an alleged cure for distemper in children, to the US government providing prostitutes on Navy boats in exchange for foreskins, to the wild claim that one patient's foreskin caused him to develop a brain tumor.

Jackson elaborates, "No parent wants to believe they've harmed their child for no reason, but that's the lie these doctors have forced upon us."

Jay J. Jackson is a freelance writer in Los Angeles and is an avid "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" fan: "One offers a mythological alternative to religious fables, the other, hope for humanity's future where we've outgrown the inane aspects of those fables in favor of acceptance and unity." Jay hopes his story will inspire parents to prioritize protecting children over protecting religion.

"Circumcision Scar" will be released September 8, 2020. To preview the book visit: http://www.circumcisionscar.com/.

The book can be pre-ordered in hardcover or Ebook at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, Apple Books, and local bookstores via IndieBound.

Pennsylvania Plumbing Company Rockets Into Unchartered Territory with Free Tele-Plumbing Services

CHESTER SPRINGS, Pa. /ScoopCloud/ -- People facing plumbing issues in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic are currently unable or unwilling to invite a professional plumber into their homes. That's a tricky situation to be in. Rocket Plumbing & Drain is working to answer the call and has figured out how to save its community time, money and stress through its free virtual and tele-plumbing services.

Steve and Debbie Reichert, owners, Rocket Plumbing & Drain, felt this unique problem required an innovative solution that would allow them to maintain their mission of always showing up for their clients, while still practicing necessary social distancing.

For example, a recent client had a water pressure issue in her home. Steve quickly responded to the online query and set up a diagnostic session via Zoom. The technology allowed Steve to diagnose the problem, and talk the client through how to fix it - step-by-step. He even helped the client figure out the correct tools to use from her toolbox. The problem was fixed and no workers had to enter the home.

How does tele-plumbing work? The sign-up process is simple. While on the Rocket website, users are prompted to fill out a brief 'Consult Request Form' that asks for a short description of the problem, the level of urgency, access to tools, video/call capabilities, preferred schedule date and the option to upload a photo of the problem.

"We're trying to do everything we can to assist our customers during this trying time and to remain transparent about our services and remote capabilities," Debbie says.

Rocket Plumbing & Drain realizes that not all problems can be fixed in this manner, but it's hopeful that they can help some through the crisis.

"As a company, we're practicing social distancing and CDC-guided protective measures," Debbie says. "These free calls are intended as a service to our customers during the COVID-19 crisis to see if we can assist in helping with temporary repairs for those making an effort to self-quarantine."

Car Seat Mobility Device Born of Necessity

TOWSON, Md. /ScoopCloud/ -- Katherine Miles, creator of the Ruby Slipper Car Seat Cover, shares that for this product, which allows persons with limited mobility to enter and exit a car with ease, necessity was truly the mother of invention. Miles was faced with a common dilemma: how to help her aging parent stay active and living a full life.

Miles' mother-named Ruby-was a busy senior and always on the go, volunteering at a local hospital and other community organizations and enjoying shopping and eating out. She had no trouble getting in and out of the car, until injuries and other health conditions cropped up. Due to her lack of upper and lower body strength, and even with her daughter's help, Ruby struggled to enter and exit vehicles. She feared she might never get back to her active and fulfilling life.

Miles hated the thought of no longer being able to take her mother for errands, appointments and drives. Reducing the friction between her mother's clothes and the car seat, Miles quickly realized, would make it vastly easier for her mother to slide herself into the seat-or for a caregiver to do so.

She devised the Ruby Slipper, a deceptively simple product that is both affordable and easy to use. This two-layer nylon seat cover creates a unique sliding action that allows an individual to pivot smoothly into a comfortable sitting position.

"It was no longer difficult to get my mother into the car safely," said Miles, "and it did not take super powers to do!" Quickly realizing that this "swivel car seat" could help lots of other people, too, she patented her design in 2014.

Now, anyone with limited mobility, whether temporary or permanent, can find greater freedom with the Ruby Slipper, including those who are elderly, injured, disabled, recovering from surgery or experiencing upper or lower body muscle weakness. Miles noted that the market for the Ruby Slipper also includes caregivers, physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists and Veterans Administration professionals.

To use the Ruby Slipper, the top layer of nylon fabric is rotated over the seating area toward the door to hang over the side of the seat. Then, the individual sits on the fabric, swivels into the car to place his or her feet on the floor, and slides back into the seat. (If help is needed, a caregiver can grasp the individual's legs and rotate them into the car.)

Lightweight and simple to install, the Ruby Slipper can be moved from car to car as needed. The Ruby Slipper fits virtually all passenger cars and trucks and works on both cloth and leather seats. The nylon fabric (red, black or gray) is rugged, comfortable and easy to care for.

Made entirely in America, the Ruby Slipper Car Seat Cover can be purchased online at http://www.rubyslippercarseatcover.com/ (via PayPal) or by calling 877-855-3065. The cost is $79.95 plus $11.95 shipping. The Ruby Slipper comes with a 30-day money back guarantee.

KROST CPAs & Consultants Provides Much-Needed Help to Businesses Affected by the Economic Downturn Caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Los Angeles-based firm, KROST CPAs & Consultants, has launched several programs to assist businesses during the Coronavirus pandemic. Since April 2020, the firm has assisted hundreds of businesses and individuals through the development of COVID-19 resources that have guided them through the process of choosing, applying, and qualifying for emergency loan programs. To date, the firm has helped more than 200 firms and sole proprietors apply for, and receive, more than $150 million in total loans.

KROST hosted two virtual webinars to provide insight into the EIDL and PPP loan programs - who can apply, what the terms of the loans were, how to apply, and how to use the proceeds once they receive funds. Now, the firm has launched the PPP Budgeting and Forgiveness Maximization Tool, a proprietary tool that allows users to plan, budget, and track expenditures on a week-by-week basis. The tool has all the current known rules on forgiveness programmed into it.

Paren Knadjian, who leads the firm's M&A and Capital Markets practice and has a background in debt financing, and as a fractional CFO, has taken the lead on the emergency loan programs. He, along with a team at KROST, developed the PPP tool with KROST clients in mind.

"From day one, we used our role as trusted advisors, to keep our customers informed of the detailed terms of these government-backed loans and helped many of them with the application process. Now that many of them have received the funds, we are guiding them through best practices on the use of proceeds and providing them with a proprietary tool to ensure they optimize loan forgiveness. The next step will be to provide them with the resources necessary, such as accounting and fractional CFO services, to ensure they emerge from business closures with a plan and a budget that maximizes their ability to make an economic recovery," remarked Paren Knadjian.

In addition to the emergency loan forgiveness assistance, the firm also developed a COVID-19 Resource Center as a hub for businesses and individuals to access the latest tax, accounting, and HR news on the Coronavirus. Learn more: https://www.krostcpas.com/covid-19-resource-center

Tips for Growing Grass in Shade

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. /ScoopCloud/ -- When it comes to growing grass in the shade, the process can be incredibly frustrating for homeowners. The Lawn Care Experts at Giroud Tree and Lawn have several strategies homeowners can try to combat bare spots on shady areas on the lawn.

Grass needs a few vital elements to thrive- sun, water, and a great root system. Trees are in a constant battle with grass for all three of these, so homeowners need to even the playing field.

Pruning Trees to start to good grass growth

The branches and leaves of trees can block sunlight from reaching the grass. Also, much of the rain that falls will run off the leaves of the tree before it filters down to the lawn, leaving grass roots dry. Homeowners should have trees evaluated by an ISA Certified Arborist to see how they can be pruned back. This will allow sunshine and water to reach those blades of grass and promote healthy, green growth!

Keep it clean

Dead leaves, pine needles and other debris fall from trees' branches and litter the ground, blocking sun and rainwater from reaching the lawn. This same debris can lock in moisture without airflow, making the lawn area more susceptible to fungus and disease. It's important to rake up the areas under trees so the grass isn't smothered and festering with infection.

Mow higher in the shade

If grass is having trouble growing in the shade, homeowners should mow a little higher in that area. This grass will need as much help as it can to reach the sun rays!

Check the soil pH

Anything that filters down into the soil can affect its acidity, so trees contribute to pH level issues. The soil should have a pH of 7 in order to grow healthy, vibrant grass.

Alternate ground cover

If all else fails, there are other options for ground cover in the shady areas under trees instead of grass. Shade-friendly plants, such as pachysandra, can be hearty additions to any landscape. Add in some Bleeding Hearts and Thyme for seasonal color and interest and homeowners will have a lovely garden area!

How to Get Started on a Lawn Care Program

Now is the time for homeowners to schedule a full lawn inspection with an experienced lawn service. The lawn care expert will walk the entire property and create a custom plan to combat any issues on the lawn. Homeowners should choose a lawn service that does a mid-season check-up that includes a pH Soil Test. Maintaining a healthy pH is vital to producing great results for the lawn. Lime applications may be recommended to decrease the acidity in the soil, so the grass will grow healthy and strong!

For more information, check out Giroud Arborist Rob Nagy's demonstration of a pH Soil Test.

David and Laura Merage Foundation Donates 500 Toy Boxes to Children of Healthcare Workers

DENVER, Colo. /ScoopCloud/ -- The David and Laura Merage Foundation launched the Merage Mini Heroes project to bring joy to the children of courageous frontline healthcare workers who are putting in extraordinarily long hours away from their families. Working in partnership with Timbuk Toys and several other local businesses, the foundation created 500 age-appropriate toy boxes that were gifted to parents at St. Joseph's Hospital and Denver Health.

"Our intention is to spark a bit of joy with these toys, and quite simply show these little ones how grateful we are that they are sharing their families with Coloradans in need," stated Sue Renner, Vice President of Philanthropy at the David and Laura Merage Foundation.

In honor of National Nurses Week, the foundation team delivered 500 boxes to the medical and non-medical staff at the two local hospitals. The hospitals then distributed these boxes for staff to pick up, noting the delight that their staff and the children showed when receiving these boxes.

"The Merage Little Heroes project is a humongous success! It is generating lots of excitement and overwhelming joy, and we are so thankful that David, Laura and their organization provided us with this act of kindness," responded Jamie Smith, CEO at St. Joseph Hospital.

This initiative exemplifies the deep commitment that David and Laura Merage have for early childhood education. In addition to Merage Mini Heroes, the David and Laura Merage Foundation has launched two nationwide programs focused on increasing high-quality care and education, Early Learning Ventures (ELV) and CareForAllChildren. Since its founding in 2008, ELV has impacted over 41,000 children and served 550 childcare programs around the U.S.

The CareForAllChildren campaign is paving the way for working parents and advocates to call on presidential candidates to address the childcare crisis. Each of these initiatives aims at supporting our youngest learners, families, and another set of heroes, childcare providers.

The Merage Mini Heroes initiative is unique in providing the opportunity to lift the spirts of our brave parents and their children during this challenging time. If additional hospitals and foundations are looking to participate or expand the current giving program, please contact Catharina Hughey, Operations Specialist, chughey@merage.org.

ViewTech Borescopes 2nd Quarter Sales Begin with New VJ-3 Video Borescope Clients

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. /ScoopCloud/ -- With some industries being allowed to return to near-normal operations, ViewTech Borescopes started their second quarter of sales with the VJ-3 video borescope being utilized for a variety of remote visual inspections throughout North America. ViewTech highlights the addition of two of their newest clients who added a ViewTech borescope to their inspection tool kit: IMCA Jamaica Limited and St. Louis Testing Laboratories.

IMCA Jamaica Limited, a distributor of Caterpillar and John Deere equipment, required a borescope for combustion area inspections inside reciprocating gas engines. ViewTech Borescopes advised their VJ-3 6.0-millimeter x 1.5 meter would be able to fill their heavy equipment inspection needs. With their new ViewTech video borescope arriving onsite quickly, IMCA's Service Manager, Ricky Brooks, stated the VJ-3 video borescope "works extremely well" and they had already put it to use on 6 engines.

When St. Louis Testing Laboratories competitive brand of video borescope required an expensive repair, they sought a new borescope for weld inspections. As an independent commercial testing laboratory, St. Louis Testing Laboratories specializes in a variety of nondestructive testing (NDT), including chemical, environmental, mechanical, coating and electronics. Their NDT Department Coordinator, Daren Larose, made the decision to switch to a ViewTech VJ-3 Dual Camera video borescope. ViewTech's newest video borescope, the Dual Camera, was suggested as a solution to improve their current inspection process. With not only a forward-facing camera, but also a 90-degree side view camera, inspection times are reduced with the VJ-3 Dual Camera.

In addition to beginning their second quarter of borescope sales, ViewTech Borescopes now offers many VJ-3 video borescope tips and helpful hints in the form of short videos online. Topics range from ViewTech borescope models for sale to cleaning your video borescope to accessories included with your VJ-3 video borescope purchase. Videos can be viewed on ViewTech Borescopes website or on their YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/Borescopes.

VJ-3 Video Borescope

The VJ-3 mechanical articulating video borescope is a nondestructive testing instrument used for the remote visual inspection of machinery, equipment, and components. The VJ-3 facilitates the visual recording and photo documentation of an inspection and components in areas that are otherwise inaccessible or require great effort and expense to access directly. The VJ-3 consists of two modules integrated into one system: an insertion tube with distally mounted camera/LEDs, and the base unit with control panel, LCD monitor, power source and all necessary circuitry.

About ViewTech Borescopes

ViewTech Borescopes, founded as RF System Lab in 2008, is North America's #1 seller of video borescopes. Their first product, the VJ borescope, set a new standard for portability, ergonomics and ease-of-use, with its industry-first mechanical, joystick-controlled articulation.

Another program is the STOP THE BLEED® Training Kit Grant program. Charleston Mom Receives Brand New Smile for Mother’s Day

CHARLESTON, S.C. /ScoopCloud/ -- Just in time for Mother's Day, Charleston Oral and Facial Surgery has helped one Charleston-area woman smile again. Due to years of decay, 31-year old Chelsea Carter was referred to the practice by her dentist, Dr. Kent Griffin, as a prime candidate for guided full-arch dental implants.

As a child, Chelsea wasn't taught about oral hygiene; in fact, she didn't have a toothbrush. The result was a smile Chelsea made a point to cover with her hand when she laughed. She became used to looking away or grinning without showing teeth.

"It definitely brought my confidence down a lot," said Chelsea. "I don't feel beautiful as a mother, I don't feel beautiful as a wife."

Enter Charleston Oral and Facial Surgery and Dr. Edward R. Strauss, who was approached by Chelsea's dentist. Chelsea met Dr. Strauss at their Summerville-Ingleside location for a preliminary meeting during which he told her the good news: The dental-implant procedure would be entirely free of charge.

"Chelsea's story of being a young wife and mother moved us and we wanted to help restore her smile and her confidence," said Edward R. Strauss, DMD, MD.

"We use cutting-edge digital technology to eliminate the guesswork in the full-arch implant procedure, so we knew she would have an absolutely perfect result."

Dr. Strauss utilized the GM system by Neodent, a new generation of implant systems that boasts high-level engineering. The surgery went seamlessly, and when Chelsea woke up, she had a brand new smile.

"Now I can look at people and be confident...it definitely boosted my self-esteem a lot," Chelsea said. "They turned me into a confident, strong woman that I knew I was always meant to be for my kids."

Charleston Oral and Facial Surgery is committed to pro bono cases and has remained open during the COVID-19 crisis to treat emergent dental cases. With six Lowcountry-area locations, they are open and ready to serve the people of Charleston with both in-person and virtual appointments.

LANSDALE, Pa. /ScoopCloud/ -- Global DMS, a leading provider of cloud-based appraisal management software, announced that it has integrated its eTrac valuation management platform with ProxyPics - a patented, secure mobile app that provides a method of facilitating the delivery of photographs of a subject property when access to the property is unavailable.

Through this integration, lenders, AMCs, and appraisers who utilize eTrac(R) can automatically request and receive high quality pictures of both the interior and exterior of a subject property directly from the homeowner, providing them with an immediate solution for completing their real estate appraisals remotely and within social distancing guidelines.

Not only does this promote safe social distancing, it ensures eTrac users have the vital information they need for completing accurate valuations that are in full compliance with the temporary appraisal guidelines that were recently enacted by the GSEs and others in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Sacramento SPCA – Giving More Than Shelter – Need for lifesaving work is surging during COVID-19 crisis

SACRAMENTO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- The Sacramento SPCA announced today that demand for its COVID-related services is surging in May despite an anticipated decrease based on federal stimulus and unemployment payments to Sacramento area residents. The increase in need comes at a time when the organization is preparing to expand programs, including adoptions, as part of the area's re-opening plans.

"Instead of seeing a decrease as people's financial stability was bolstered by the stimulus plans, we are actually seeing a dramatic increase in need for our community's animals so far this month," said Sacramento SPCA CEO, Kenn Altine.

"The amount of free pet food being distributed at our twice-weekly drive-through panty is up 50% in the past two weeks, the number of animals we have placed foster homes has increased 84% since the lockdown was put in place, and the number of calls for people who need help with a sick or injured stray has continued to rise," said Altine.

While the Sacramento SPCA had to adjust their operations due to mandates surrounding COVID-19 in late March, the shelter continues to provide lifesaving care and support to animals at the shelter, hundreds of more animals in foster homes and those still arriving at their doors in crisis.

"As the only shelter in the region offering pet owners a place to take their beloved animals when they have nowhere else to turn; regardless of age, breed, health condition or behavior - closing our doors completely was never a consideration," said Altine. "From March 20 to April 30, the Sacramento SPCA took in 164 animals in crisis and treated more than 20 animals requiring emergency medical care."

Animals like Miss Chonk, who arrived to the Sacramento SPCA as a stray with pyometra, a serious and life-threatening infection. She also had a skin and ear infections as well as problems with her eyes. The shelter's medical team jumped into action to help the sweet girl - she received an emergency spay surgery and medication for her skin, ears and eyes and is now on her way to recovery.

When the shelter in place orders were first issued, the shelter teams worked diligently to find temporary foster homes for as many animals in the shelter as possible so they could focus on the urgent and emergent needs of the community, including animals requiring emergency medical attention.

The shelter reached out to recruit foster families just days before the County order to stay home was issued and in a matter of days, 800 community members volunteered to help. Since March 19, more than 260 animals have been placed in foster homes.

A positive side effect of people being at home is that many of the families fostering animals for the Sacramento SPCA have bonded closely with the animals and expressed interest in adopting. As of May 1, more than 40 animals have been adopted or are in the process of adoption by their foster families.

Because the shelter recognized that many of the people who use their low-cost vaccine clinic had animals at the beginning or half-way through a series of needed shots (canine influenza, distemper, parvo, etc.), they reached out to families and created a way for them to come in for the vital vaccinations while protecting their health and the health of the shelter staff. As a result, more than 500 vaccinations were administered to 376 animals (including booster vaccines for 263 puppies under seven months of age).

In addition to adapting their current programs, the Sacramento SPCA also launched a free pet food pantry to help keep pets and their people stay together and support those who could no longer afford to buy pet food. The twice-weekly drive-through #PAWPantry takes place at the Sacramento SPCA located at 6201 Florin Perkins Road in Sacramento from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday. As of May 1, more than 900 families have visited the pantry and received more than 12,000 pounds of free pet food.

"As we watched the flood of layoffs wash over our region, we laid the plans for a drive-through pet food distribution to ensure that no one had to contemplate surrendering a pet because they couldn't afford or access food," said Altine. "This resource has been a lifeline for pet owners who weren't sure how they would buy food for their pets, especially as many are still waiting for income assistance."

But what started as a temporary relief program for area residents is now likely to become a long-term program at the Sacramento SPCA. "We thought the need would decrease as the stimulus packages came on line," said Altine, "but the opposite has happened."

Plans for Re-opening

While the Sacramento SPCA has had to restrict the number of people at the shelter, their lifesaving work has continued as an essential community organization. And with Governor Newsom's four-stage plan for how the state can ease stay at home restrictions in the coming months, the shelter is already planning to expand public access to programs in the coming weeks.

"Expanding access to lifesaving programs while maintaining the health and safety of the community and our staff is our highest priority," says Altine. "Our teams will be leaning heavily on technology to expand access through appointment-based processes for pet adoption, low-cost vaccinations, animal support and spay and neuter services."

How Can the Community Help

As the only full-service 100% non-profit animal shelter in the Sacramento region, the Sacramento SPCA relies on donations from individuals, businesses and foundations to support their work. They are local, independent, and do not receive funding from state or local government agencies.

With the Big Day of Giving on May 7, the Sacramento region's 24-hour giving campaign to support local nonprofits - the Sacramento SPCA is asking for monetary donations to ensure that they can continue to support animals and people whenever and however needed. Learn more: https://www.bigdayofgiving.org/SacSPCA

Donations can be made online or by mail to: Sacramento SPCA, 6201 Florin Perkins Road, Sacramento, CA 95828.

Founded in 1892, the Sacramento SPCA has been providing homeless animals with individual comfort, shelter, and love for more than 128 years. They provide compassionate medical care to tens of thousands of animals annually and offer a variety of programs and services designed to keep people and pets together for life.

Emergency Transportation Associates Launches New Emergency Vehicle Marketplace

CHARLOTTE, N.C. /ScoopCloud/ -- Three weeks ago ETA challenged WiT Group to develop an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of emergency vehicles. WiT Group, a Charlotte, N.C. based marketing agency, completed a full website redesign including the development of custom-designed responsive web pages, a fully functional online marketplace, and a search engine optimized web platform that will lead the way for the emergency vehicle industry.

The beautifully designed web platform will act as a vessel for ETA to connect buyers and sellers in the emergency vehicle industry, as well as explaining their company's added value and additional service offerings such as; used ambulances, ambulance remounts, chief trucks, light rescues, police conversion vehicles, type II ambulances, dispatch software, vehicle graphic design, cell phones, routers, mifis, and other similar services.

WiT Group revised the content, design, site structure, and marketplace functionality to develop a seamless user experience that was optimized for all devices and search engines. By consolidating a disjointed smattering of websites, microsites, and landing pages, ETA is now able to offer the emergency vehicle industry a "one-stop-shop" for emergency vehicle sales, accessories, service, and other ancillary services. This is currently the only marketplace of its kind, offering a new level of value to the industry. The marketplace is currently the only option available for emergency vehicle liquidation that doesn't require transaction fees, another industry first.

"WiT Group has exceeded our expectations in delivering this online marketplace. The smooth process and high level of expertise combined with the incredible level of communication resulted in the success of the project. The driving factor that makes this partnership successful is a unified vision; ETA wants to bring new and creative business operation products to the emergency services industry as well as continuing to grow our ambulance sales division. WiT has done a fantastic job as our creative partner to share in that vision, ensure the proper infrastructure has been set up, and work to achieve the desired results," said Eric Vogl Sr & Eric Vogl II - Co-Founders of Emergency Transportation Associates, LLC.

The Charlotte-based marketing agency developed the online marketplace within 3 weeks - an extremely ambitious timeline. The entire marketplace was redeveloped from end-to-end, from the information architecture to the redeveloped content, to the customized design - the entire website was reimagined. With a UX focused design and enhanced web functionality, users will now find an unprecedented value that is poised to revolutionize the emergency vehicle industry.

"This was a very challenging project, to get everything launched in 3 weeks was quite the undertaking but we are happy with the results and I am looking forward to seeing the results. For our agency, this is only the beginning - the new web platform paves the way for our pay-for-performance marketing efforts and I expect to see immediate results from this effort," said Josh Mangum, CEO of WiT Group.

ETA's comprehensive digital marketplace is one of a kind in its industry. With the completion of this web platform, companies within the emergency services industry will now have access to a comprehensive business operation platform to assist with every aspect of running a business, including marketing, direct marketing, and more. To get things started, ETA is offering the first 30 days of a listing free to anyone who wants to list their emergency vehicle.

BHERC ‘Operation Love’ Set to Deliver Mother’s Day Sunday Meals and Essential Goods to Homeless Families in Washington, DC and Baltimore

WASHINGTON, D.C. /ScoopCloud/ -- The Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center (BHERC) continues its "Operation Love" outreach Saturday May 9, and Sunday, May 10, 2020 in Washington D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland targeting homeless families with "underlying" health and psychosocial conditions who have been extremely impacted by COVID 19 shelter in place mandates and need assistance.

This effort will provide A Mother's Day meal or grocery box with two weeks of food with healthy recipes, Laced with Love on how to prepare the meals and a gift basket of essential items for 500 families living shelters, special housing and homeless encampments. The program has reached over 2000 seniors and homeless individuals since the start of the pandemic. Some of the agencies will pick up the gift boxes from 3532 Massachusetts Ave NW, while others will be delivered directly to the shelter or encampment, a list of the agencies can be found below.

"Operation Love" meals and gift baskets are for homeless families living in the shelters or special housing programs including their children, and caregivers. As we begin to celebrate Nurses Week, "Year of the Nurse and Midwife," the Mother's Day dinner, grocery boxes and gift baskets are being donated in honor of Dr. Bernardine M. Lacey an extraordinary nurse leader. Dr. Bernardine Lacey, is credited with starting the movement to include care of the underserved in the nursing curriculum and she started the first nurse operated homeless clinic at the D Street Shelter, in Washington, D.C. Because of this movement, the profession is better prepared to care for the most vulnerable populations in the American society.

"This small showing of love is both a practical and a heartfelt demonstration of the importance of our most vulnerable populations. We want the homeless to know they have not been forgotten in the midst of our mandated and necessary physical distancing," states Sandra Evers-Manly, President of BHERC.

The gift basket includes feminine hygiene products, hard to find items such as: gloves, toilet paper, face masks, hand sanitizer and various other essential items. In addition, the children's book Raised by Mrs. Manly and her Ls, written by Ms. Sandra Evers-Manly and other toys will be given to the children. The meals and baskets will be prepared and delivered using City/State and CDC guidelines. Contributors to the gift baskets include the Living Legend Dr. Bernardine Lacey, Dr. Shirley Evers-Manly, President All Health Care/Imani's, the National Black Nurses Association, Gwendylon Johnson, member Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority,

During this unprecedented time in our lives, the COVID19 worldwide health and humanitarian pandemic is redefining the very way we live our lives daily. In many instances, eclipsing the future of what daily work, education, entertainment and play will look like in the future for all of us. In addition to the need for essential supplies is the need for emotional support. "Operation Love delivers a strong message that you are not alone in these difficult times. We are with you!" says Evers-Manly.

At BHERC, this is the kind of action that has made the BHERC family, its friends and colleagues, unique as we demonstrate an enthusiastic abiding support and responsive manner when called upon over the years. BHERC encourages everyone that can to act.

"Let's remind the ones around us how much they matter. Encourage them to stay strong and steadfast," states Evers-Manly.

The BHERC family encourages everyone to consider supporting the vulnerable populations, You can:
* Contact a homeless shelter to check on their needs
* If shopping (do so under City/State and CDC guidelines), pick up an item or two for a homeless family or someone in need (practice social distancing)
* Donate or make mask for the shelter or isolated seniors
* Send an online order to someone in need

In addition to the focus on homeless, the BHERC Operation Love is focused on distributing masks to seniors and supporting the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA). Last week the BHERC president made a contribution to the NBNA to create a special fund to support nurses on the front-line battling COVID19 and to curate an online instructional program for Nurses to Help Nurses. The NBNA donation will also provide 1000 masks for NBNA nurses and provide support for their distribution of masks, meals, nursing education, and culturally sensitive health education materials where chapters are located across the country.

"Each and every one of us must reach out in a safe way to make sure vulnerable populations have someone to talk to, have medications and have enough food to eat during these difficult times," expressed Dr. Martha A. Dawson, President of the National Black Nurses Association. "We are pleased to partner with Ms. Sandra Evers-Manly during these challenging times."

Everyone can all join in the fight by making just a quick phone call or sending a simple text message. Keeping each other positive and reminding your neighbors and loved ones that even in our isolation, we are not alone. #BHERCStrongTogether
