Aubade Publishing Achieves Publishing Goal One Year Early: Releases Eight Titles in 2020

ASHBURN, Va. /ScoopCloud/ -- Aubade Publishing, a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), is steadily growing, expanding and exceeding its business expectations. It's scheduled to release eight titles in 2020 - four poetry collections, three novels and one memoir:

* "The Law of the Land" (ISBN: 978-0-9845494-8-1), poems by Red Hawk (May 19, 2020)

* "High Tide" (ISBN: 978-1-951547-99-8), poems by Ed Meek (May 26, 2020)

* "Song of the Selkie" (ISBN: 978-1-951547-00-4), poems by Jane Beal (June 2, 2020)

* "The Yellow Sports Bra: A True Story of Love, Faith, and Basketball" (ISBN: 978-1-951547-03-5), a memoir by Jamie Graham Duprey (June 23, 2020)

* "Jerusalem as a Second Language" (ISBN: 978-1-951547-06-6), literary fiction by Rochelle Distelheim (September 29, 2020)

* "Love's Garden" (ISBN: 978-1-951547-08-0), historical fiction by Nandini Bhattacharya (October 27, 2020)

* "The Reluctant Patriot" (ISBN: 978-1-951547-10-3), historical fiction by Susan Lohafer (December 1, 2020)

* "Roadworthy" (ISBN: 978-1-951547-13-4), poems by Dave Mehler (December 15, 2020).

The eight works were selected for publication in response to a call for manuscripts from the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) in 2019 and a rolling review of manuscripts continuously submitted on Aubade's website.

"We published three titles in 2018 and set a goal at that time to expand to eight titles by 2021; we're one year ahead of schedule," Vonda Puckett, founder and business manager, Aubade Publishing, says. "That's very exciting."

And, Vonda, who is a graduate of Weber State University, has a double major in history and English, and is an especially qualified judge of historical fiction, is not going it alone. Her husband, Joe Puckett, and daughter, Cosette, are also committed to this niche family business.

"Aubade Publishing is really a labor of love," Joe says, who is also the business's chief editor. "We all get to indulge our reading addiction as part of our work."

Cosette, a 2019 English graduate from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, manages acquisition, performs editing, designs covers and layouts, manages the social media sites and illustrates some of the books.

"We were flooded with manuscripts," Cosette says, "but the writers we chose for publication really grabbed us with their style and content - it's quite an eclectic group. We're also very happy to publish Rochelle Distelheim for a second time."

The books that Aubade Publishing publishes are rooted in the family's favorite literature genres: fantasy and science fiction, Gothic, historical and literary fiction, poetry and memoirs.

"I used to read so much as a kid that my parents would ground me from reading if I got in trouble," Cosette says, "but now I get to read as part of my job and be involved in the creative process with these fabulous writers."

Aubade's website theme revolves around an Emily Dickinson poem which opening lines state: "There is no frigate like a book to take us lands away."

"By reading these eight books, I 'traveled' to British India during the two world wars; St Petersburg and Jerusalem after the fall of the Soviet Union; contemporary Cape Cod; Tennessee during the Civil War; the Great Plains when Sitting Bull lived; the Hi-Line of Montana in the 1990s; the Pacific Northwest (with a truck driver); and I got to meet a selkie," Cosette shares.

The books are available for pre-order directly from the publisher's website at: https://aubadepublishing.com.

There are also instructions for writers on how to submit manuscripts for possible future publication. Ingram will distribute all eight titles to the trade.

Advance reading copies (ARCs) for the first five titles are currently available for electronic review on NetGalley (https://www.netgalley.com/) and paperback ARCs can be requested from the publisher. Electronic and paperback ARCs for the three remaining titles will be available for review closer to their publication dates.

"We're looking forward to possible future expansion," Vonda says, "but we don't want to put a number on that like we did in 2018. We might have to wait until our youngest daughter, Emma (who also loves reading), graduates from college first."

ReverseVision Names Mortgage Technology Veteran Joe Langner President

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- ReverseVision, the leading provider of Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) and private reverse mortgage sales and origination technology, today announced the appointment of Joe Langner as president. Langner will lead the company to achieve its strategic vision of establishing HECM and private reverse mortgages as lending portfolio staples alongside traditional and government loans.

Langner has nearly 30 years' executive experience driving growth at marquis mortgage technology and software companies. A former executive vice president and chief sales officer at Ellie Mae, Langner executed the firm's initial public offering in 2011 and considerably grew its market share during his tenure. Most recently, Langner served as chief executive officer at Blue Sage, a cloud-based, digital lending platform for retail, wholesale and correspondent lenders.

His other notable positions include president at PCLender, a digital mortgage technology provider and Fiserv affiliate; executive vice president and general manager at Sage, the global market leader in operations management technology for small and medium businesses; and senior vice president at Dun and Bradstreet, a leading global provider of business decisioning data and analytics.

In October 2019, ReverseVision announced its transformation as an API-enabled, flexible reverse mortgage lending platform in conjunction with substantial product upgrades, including its transition to cloud computing architecture; the introduction of a loan import API enabling third party systems to prepopulate a reverse mortgage file within ReverseVision Exchange (RVX); and streamlined product selection menus.

"Joe's proven ability to satisfy industry and customer needs make him the right person to lead ReverseVision as it transforms reverse mortgage lending," said ReverseVision Chief Executive Officer John Button. "He is the best person in the industry to execute our strategic vision of bringing reverse mortgage lending into operational coexistence in the broader mortgage market using our cloud-based, API-enabled lending technology platform."

"Today, HECMs and private reverse mortgage programs are vastly underutilized despite market need because, until recently, there has not been an operationally pragmatic way for lenders to integrate reverse products alongside their forward offerings," said Langner. "I've joined ReverseVision because their innovative vision to integrate reverse products into the mortgage ecosystem is exactly what borrowers and lenders need."

About ReverseVision

ReverseVision, Inc. is the leading Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) and private reverse mortgage sales and origination technology platform, supporting more reverse mortgage transactions than all other systems combined. The company's comprehensive product suite flexes to lenders' unique business and operational models, connecting all lending participants across the entire reverse mortgage lifecycle to meet borrowers where they are in life. A six-time HousingWire TECH100™ company, ReverseVision continues to build on its technology's pioneering capabilities with frequent enhancements.

Berkeley Coding Academy Opens Doors with Summer Camp in Machine Learning and AI

BERKELEY, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Berkeley Coding Academy, a new computer science team of credentialed teachers, is offering summer camps to empower youth in Python Programming, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.

Machine Learning has not been an option for middle school and high school students until now. Machine Learning is the ability of computers to make predictions from data without being explicitly programmed. More importantly, Machine Learning allows systems to problem-solve and refine themselves again and again, making it the most valuable skill in the economy today.

Corey Wade, chair of the math department at Berkeley Independent Study and lead author of "The Python Workshop," developed BCA to bring Machine Learning to a wider and younger audience. A multiple grant award winner, Wade has run after school coding clubs with students to create iPhone Apps, design websites, and analyze big data. Wade realized that bringing Machine Learning to the high school curriculum, however, was a slow process. The urgency and potential of high school students to become acquainted with Machine Learning inspired Wade to start BCA right away.

BCA partnered with Hands-On!, Berkeley's first STEAM lab run by credentialed teacher Tracy Hollander. Hands-On! provides STEAM camps during summer for ages 5-11. BCA will provide Machine Learning & AI camps at the same location for ages 12-18. All instructors at BCA and Hands-On! are Berkeley credentialed teachers with deep experiences in the classroom.

According to Wade, "Many talented people understand Machine Learning, but very few teach Machine Learning to high school students. It's definitely a challenge. When I look at what my students accomplish in math, I know they can learn Machine Learning. Our students, given the right guidance and motivation, can do anything."

What makes BCA special is that Bay Area middle school and high school students now have the rare opportunity to learn Machine Learning & AI with an experienced and passionate teacher.

Here are 5 facts about Machine Learning & AI in the world today, from Finances Online. (https://financesonline.com/machine-learning-statistics/)

1. 80% of companies plan to adopt AI for customer service by 2020. (oracle.com)

2. 97% of mobile users use AI-powered voice assistants. (creativestrategies.com)

3. $28.5 billion - The total funding allocated to machine learning worldwide during the first quarter of 2019. (statista.com)

4. $13 trillion - The potential global economy that AI could deliver by 2030. (mckinsey.com)

5. 74% of companies say ML will transform jobs and industries. (memsql.com)

Here are 5 reasons why Bay Area students should enroll in a Machine Learning & AI summer camp with BCA.

1. Machine Learning is a game-changer - Students who build Machine Learning models will gain an edge. Machine Learning is usually reserved for upper division college students, graduates, and data science professionals. BCA changes the status quo by making Machine Learning available to teens.

2. Big data is bigger than ever - BCA students learn how to program in Python and analyze big data. Using Python to analyze big data is the work of a data analyst and typically commands a large salary.

3. Friendships and mentorships can transform lives - Learning from and working with like-minded peers can help solidify technical skills and forge lifelong friendships. Moreover, BCA encourages developing relationships with mentors, potentially leading to exciting opportunities that extend beyond summer.

4. Limitless opportunities for social impact - Working with big data and coding in Python is valuable to many people. Opportunities to help others in camp will arise, and opportunities to help local communities may surface.

5. BCA teaches professional coding skills through "real-world" datasets - The code that BCA teaches is the real deal. It's the same code used by professional data scientists.

Brazilians want to make an impact during FlatOutFriday

MILWAUKEE, Wis. /ScoopCloud/ -- It was only six years ago when the first official Flat Track competition took place in Brazil, with only ten to fifteen riders. Now, there are over fourteen teams around the country, and the Brazilian Flat Track League will have nine riders racing during FlatOutFriday (FOF) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, March 13. The group is looking forward to making a good impression during FOF 2020.

Flat track racing hit the country following the North American flat track tradition, and using the American culture as reference. Mostly running H-D Sportsters.

Racer Chrys Miranda was the first Brazilian ever invited to FlatOutFriday, back in 2019. His experience and networking paved the way for the group's record participation at this year's event. The team will also have the first Brazilian woman to race in international flat competition.

"This is an important moment for the sport in Brazil, and to be part of an event as big as FlatOutFriday brings visibility to our efforts, and our racers. It also helps to spread the word in our country, the sport becomes better known, and, consequently, more people will become interested," says Miranda. "With that, not only are we are keeping the tradition, but bringing more people to the race and, consequently, new athletes and collaborations."

Miranda, who has been involved with the motorcycle culture in Brazil and the United States for decades, is one of the newly formed Brazilian Flat Track League founders. The League's vision is to develop and foster the sport in Brazil, by introducing regulations, classes, and an official circuit calendar.

Events like "Lucky Friends Rodeo" and "BMS Motorcycle" already host some of the biggest Flat Track races in Brazil. In conjunction with showcasing builders, shops, and artists, both events are good examples of how the culture is growing in the country.

"We want to keep the tradition rolling," says Flávio Luz, from Lucky Friends Rodeo who is another one of the League's founders. "By introducing norms and new classes to the races in Brazil, we want to open opportunities to a broader group of people. It will not only help disseminate the sport but will bring attention to the professionals and the technology involved in all of the aspects of this race."

The Brazilian FT League also has Cezinha Mocelin, founder of BMS Motorcycle, and Marcelo Creck, founder of Lucky Friends Rodeo, in its board.

Jeremy Prach, founder of FlatOutFriday and Mama Tried, feels that having the Brazilian racers at the events in 2020 is a big deal. "Who've thought that this culture that we have has touched people so far away. For that, I am most proud", said Jeremy.

Motorcycle in Brazil

Data from 2018, shows that Brazil holds the largest South American motorcycle fleet, and it's the 8th country in the world, with a fleet of over 26 million registered bikes and a market share in constant growth.

Forged Components Inc. (FCI) Has Acquired the Western of Texas Forge & Flange Company

HUMBLE, Texas /ScoopCloud/ -- Forged Components Inc. is proud to announce the acquisition of the Western of Texas Forge & Flange Company. The acquisition was completed in the 4th quarter of 2019.

The Western of Texas Forge & Flange Company has been in business for over 35 years and manufactures high-quality pipe flanges and forgings to standard and custom sizes. They have the ability to supply commodity flanges to the oil and gas exploration and production, oil refining and processing, petrochemical, chemical, and power generation industries just to name a few.

Even though the Western of Texas Forge & Flange Company is by owned FCI, they will continue operating under the Western of Texas Forge & Flange Co. trade name. They specialize in alloy material grades.

"Western of Texas Forge & Flange Co. is particularly a good fit because FCI does not manufacture commodity flanges, as well as it expands our forging capabilities with an addition of 4,000 lb., 8,000 lb. and 12,000 lb. hammers," said Leon Zilberman at FCI. "This purchase fills one of the few gaps within the range of products FCI provides for the oil and gas industry."

Some of the capabilities that Western of Texas Forge & Flange provide are open die and rough forging, heat treating, manual machining, CNC machining, and PMI. They have a strong reputation for delivering "on time" shipments and specialize in expedited production.

About Forged Components Inc.

Capitol Fence Shares Public Safety Tips Around Automatic Gates

AUSTIN, Texas /ScoopCloud/ -- Capitol Fence & Deck of Austin, Texas, learned there are an estimated 300 ER visits due to injuries from automated gates. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) notes that most serious injuries occur around public access gates found at an apartment building, condominiums, and gated communities. Electric gates installed in these places are often outdated and no longer meet current safety guidelines.

Austin Electric Gates Safety Tips

If a home has an automatic security gate in Austin, children and vulnerable adults should learn these safety tips:
* Avoid "pinch points." Never stick hands, arms, feet, legs, or the head through gate openings.
* Check that a nationally recognized laboratory tested the automated gate, typically the ETL or UL.
* Don't play on or around the automatic gate.
* Never walk on foot through an automated gate intended for vehicles only. Use the separate pedestrian entrance at all times.

Risks of Automated Gates

Automated gate systems are subject to few safeguards and restrictions. "Safety by design," the belief that something well designed and adequately assembled will be safe, is the default for electronic gates. The most significant risk comes from improper installation.

Correctly installed gates still have these common risks:
* Crushing: Gates close with an individual in their path
* Drawing in: Gates catch on clothing and pulls the individual into their path
* Entrapment: Gates trap the individual while opening or closing
* Hooking: A protruding part of the gate system catches on the individual or their clothing
* Impact: An individual struck while the gate is opening or closing. The individual moves out of the way before becoming entrapped
* Shearing: Gates damage a parallel object such as a wall; shearing incidents can derail a gate system

Automatic gate systems operate until the gates are either fully closed or fully open. The gates don't react to outside influences, which is where most of the danger arises.

Get a Professional to Install an Automatic Gate Safely

Although automatic gate systems in Austin residential homes are potentially dangerous when installed or misused, they're not unsafe overall. When used correctly and given appropriate care, automatic gates can be a useful and safe way to let people in and keep people out of housing development.

Hire professional Austin entry gate installers when you need repairs or a new gate. Although fly-by-night installation companies are cheap, they're also more dangerous.

When searching for an automatic fence gate, Austin residents should always look for a certified installer. Capitol Fence & Deck is certified to correctly and safely install your automated gate system and meets UL 325 standards.

About Capitol Fence & Deck

Capitol Fence and Deck has been providing the top-level design and functionality for residential fences since 1992 in Austin, Texas. Delivering and installing custom wood, plank, chain link, privacy, wrought iron, and many other types of fences along with walk gates, entry gates, handrails, and much more, there are no other fence contractors throughout the Greater Austin Area that can match our selection and customer service.

Capitol Fence and Deck has built a strong history of exceptional customer support and service. Quality is one of the most essential aspects of any Austin Fence Company and when you want the best, only Capitol Fence and Deck will do.

Lyme Disease Biobank Expands Into San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Bay Area Lyme Foundation, a leading sponsor of Lyme disease research in the U.S., announces the opening of the San Diego collection site of the Bay Area Lyme Foundation's Lyme Disease Biobank, which is the first program to provide researchers with blood and urine samples from people with early Lyme disease from multiple endemic regions across the country.

Congressman Scott Peters and Councilmember Chris Cate are scheduled to speak at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new collection site, and Council President Pro Tem Barbara Bry, Senator Toni Atkins, and Assemblymember Todd Gloria will send representatives to issue commendations to support this event.

"Lyme disease is a growing problem in the County of San Diego, because many of our residents travel to or relocate from other more highly endemic areas and it is also possible to be infected locally," said Sharon Wampler, PhD, who was instrumental in bringing Bay Area Lyme Foundation's Lyme Disease Biobank to San Diego. "As a world-class hubfor research and innovation, we can be part of the solution. This biobank is an important resource which will help researchers answer many current scientific questions about tick-borne diseases."

Much research into tick-borne infections is needed, as current diagnostics are inaccurate for more than half of early stage Lyme disease cases, treatments do not work for everyone and late stage Lyme disease can become nearly impossible to cure. In fact, a recent study based on the samples collected by the Lyme Disease Biobank and published in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology, a journal of the American Society for Microbiology, found that the Centers for Disease Control's standard two-tier testing algorithm for Lyme disease failed to accurately diagnose 71% of blood samples from individuals in endemic areas presenting with a Lyme rash, also known as an erythema migrans, greater than 5 cm. In striving to investigate better diagnostics and treatments for tick-borne diseases, researchers require verified blood, urine and tissue samples to use in their studies.

Currently, there are 50 research projects that rely on Lyme Disease Biobank samples. The San Diego collection center will be in partnership with Osteopathic Medical Associates of San Diego (OMASD).

"As Lyme disease grows in prevalance, we are seeing more people looking to make a difference for current and future patients, and our biobank offers a valuable way for the public to support researchers who are working to find solutions," said Liz Horn, PhD, principal investigator, Lyme Disease Biobank. "We are honored to be able to give people from San Diego the opportunity to contribute to this important initiative."

The Lyme Disease Biobank in San Diego will collect from people who have ongoing symptoms of Lyme disease. Importantly, because bacterial strains of tick-borne diseases have been shown to vary from region to region, a biobank in San Diego will allow researchers to explore potential new diagnostics against the range of bacterial strains prevalent in people with Lyme disease in San Diego, along with those from other parts of the country.

San Diego residents are also invited to register for the Biobank's tissue collection program. This program allows for a greater understanding of the ability of Lyme bacteria to invade tissues and organs. The Lyme Disease Biobank is the only national entity working to accelerate research by collecting surgical and post-mortem tissue samples from individuals with persistent Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections.

Also in support of Lyme disease research such as this, community members will come together tonight, Friday, March 6 for Ride Out Lyme California at SoulCycle in La Jolla.

About Lyme Disease Biobank

The Lyme Disease Biobank (LDB), a program of the Bay Area Lyme Foundation, is a non-profit organization working to accelerate research of Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections. With a collection of biological samples from more than 900 participants, including serum, blood, urine and tissue, LDB provides much-needed samples to researchers working to better understand tick-borne diseases and develop improved tests and therapeutics. Blood and urine samples are collected from the Northeast, Upper Midwest and West Coast areas of the U.S., and tissue samples are collected throughout the country.

About Lyme Disease

The most common vector-borne infectious disease in the country, Lyme disease is a potentially disabling infection caused by bacteria transmitted through the bite of an infected tick to people and pets. If caught early, most cases of Lyme disease can be effectively treated, but it is commonly misdiagnosed due to lack of awareness and unreliable diagnostic tests. There are more than 400,000 new cases of Lyme disease each year, according to statistics released in 2018 by the CDC. As a result of the difficulty in diagnosing and treating Lyme disease, more than one million Americans may be suffering from the impact of its debilitating long-term symptoms and complications, according to Bay Area Lyme Foundation estimates.

About Bay Area Lyme Foundation

Bay Area Lyme Foundation, a national organization committed to making Lyme disease easy to diagnose and simple to cure, is a leading public not-for-profit sponsor of innovative Lyme disease research in the U.S. A 501c3 non-profit organization based in Silicon Valley, Bay Area Lyme Foundation collaborates with world-class scientists and institutions to accelerate medical breakthroughs for Lyme disease. It is also dedicated to providing reliable, fact-based information so that prevention and the importance of early treatment are common knowledge. A pivotal donation from The LaureL STEM Fund covers overhead costs and allows for 100% of all donor contributions to Bay Area Lyme Foundation to go directly to research and prevention programs. Ted Rigoni’s Oxidized! Exhibition opens at the Progress Gallery March 7 – 29, 2020

POMONA, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- The Progress Gallery, located at 300 S. Thomas St., Pomona, CA presents "Oxidized!" - a solo exhibit of art photographs of pigment on paper by artist Ted Rigoni. The Progress Gallery is open to the public from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday - Saturday and is celebrating this work with an Artist's Reception during the Artist Walk, on March 14, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The oxidized metals of the Mojave Desert Landscape - rusted cans, discarded bolts, 'gold mine' conveyor parts, spiraling culverts, and other metallic objects - seem annihilated by the gritty red rust of time. Yet these remnants have been born again as contemporary art photographs by Rigoni through selected light, edgy textures, and micro-details, to reveal the beautiful metals that supported desert pioneers as they pursued life, love, and riches in a hostile and unforgiving environment.

Abandonment is a common theme of America's West as places that once were, have become nonplaces, but at the same time places replete with nostalgic affections. Thus, Ted Rigoni titled his exhibit, Oxidized! to emphasize the rusty relationship we have with abandoned metals from our past - a distinct contrast with our shiny object culture of today. For a year plus, Ted explored the desert within the Mojave National Preserve, discovering metal artifacts that date back generations, each of them an Oxidized! (rusted) icon to the rugged miners, ranchers, railroaders, and itinerant explorers whose ghosts still linger in this land of creosote bushes, coyotes and sand.

A series of rusted bean cans cast a bronze, nostalgic glow, but no details to pinpoint a specific place or time. Grand scale photographs of small rusted bolts seem to vibrate with life on the Giclee prints and display as equals to images of gigantic metal culverts and sinusoidal railroad tracks. Ted's art connects the small with the large, the very old to the just old- all of it through the magic of an uncommon desert light.

"During my desert wilderness explorations, I often shoot images that reach out to me before I have reached out to them," Rigoni says. "When I return to my digital darkroom, I focus on creating images that explore the role art photography plays in our psychic understanding of the specific places that spawned these abandoned metals."

Ted describes his work as semi-abstract, with a deep topographical connection to the details which express an emotional response to the "Oxidized!" elements.

Ted points out, "I often stack focus 50 images of the same piece to capture the minute detail with exquisite sharpness because my visual vocabulary includes the finite rust and all its pigment varieties. I want to extend the visual experience beyond documenting the abstract light, patterns, and textures, which naturally appear. I am interested in how the unconscious act of abandoning these metals is born again in our consciousness as art."

Ted Rigoni resides with his family in Tustin, California, is a professional sports photographer, retired County Road Division Manager, and has been engaged in fine art photography for the last four years. In addition to creating art photography projects, Ted is an associate art photography instructor for National Park Photography Expeditions.

ViewTech Borescopes Exhibiting at NACE International’s Corrosion Conference and Expo

HOUSTON, Texas /ScoopCloud/ -- ViewTech Borescopes will exhibit for the first time during the Corrosion Conference & Expo 2020 hosted by National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) International in Houston, Texas from March 16 - 19. ViewTech sales consultant Joel Greene will display several VJ-3 Video Borescopes for Corrosion 2020 attendees, including the newly released VJ-3 dual camera video borescope.

This being ViewTech's first time exhibiting during the comprehensive technical corrosion-focused conference's 75th anniversary, ViewTech will have four different borescope models available for a hands-on demonstration at booth #2352.

"With clientele in nearly every industry you can imagine, we are consistently informed that the VJ-3 borescopes preform the heavy lifting for 99% of inspections, many of which entail viewing the inside of critical components without costly and time-consuming disassembly," said Duncan White, Director of Sales and Marketing at ViewTech Borescopes. Many clients have found that ViewTech Borescopes, based in Traverse City, Michigan, provides the best borescope for their budget, along with meeting the vast majority of their RVI and NDT inspection requirements.

"Our VJ-3 video borescopes are so intuitive; our inspection scopes get put to use with hardly any learning curve," said Greene. "The newest video borescope we offer, the VJ-3 dual camera, is a cost-effective way to monitor the damage corrosion might be causing. With both a forward-facing and 90-degree side-view camera, inspectors will be able to help mitigate any future corrosion issues without using a separate side view attachment."

VJ-3 Video Borescope

The VJ-3 mechanical articulating video borescope is a nondestructive visual testing instrument used for the remote visual inspection of machinery, equipment and components. The VJ-3 facilitates the visual recording and photo documentation of an inspection and components in areas that are otherwise inaccessible or require great effort and expense to access directly. The VJ-3 consists of two modules integrated into one system: an insertion tube with distally mounted camera/LEDs, and the base unit with control panel, LCD monitor, power source and all necessary circuitry.

About ViewTech Borescopes

ViewTech Borescopes, founded as RF System Lab in 2008, is North America's #1 seller of video borescopes. Their first product, the VJ borescope, set a new standard for portability, ergonomics and ease-of-use, with its industry-first mechanical, joystick-controlled articulation.

350 Bay Area Action Creating Climate Report Cards for California and Local Candidates

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- Climate action group 350 Bay Area Action today announced climate report cards, to be issued for 2020 Bay Area candidates for the California Assembly and the state Senate. Local candidates in crucial city council and supervisorial races will also be rated. The group will endorse candidates rated as true climate champions in key regional legislative races, and selected candidates in local elections as well.

"Climate change is now the #1 priority for California voters, and climate impacts such as fires and drought are buffeting the state," said Judy Pope, co-lead of the 350 Bay Area Action Electoral Committee. "With our new climate report cards, we will make it easy for voters to act on climate, their #1 concern."

California is seen worldwide as a leader on climate change, ever since the passage of the Global Warming Solutions Act, Assembly Bill 32 (AB 32), in 2006. The 2020 goal, a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020, was met in 2016.

A subsequent bill, SB 32, updated California's climate targets - which, while ambitious, are not aggressive enough to meet science-based requirements. And many local governments, in California and elsewhere, have passed Climate Emergency resolutions. But the state is falling behind the 2030 goal, a 40% cut from those levels.

"We are seeing a rapid increase in awareness, especially among young people, that the climate crisis is happening right here and right now," said Laura Neish, Executive Director of 350 Bay Area Action. "Politicians have often resisted these concerns in favor of moneyed interests. So we're setting out to help get people elected who are listening to all of their constituents, especially the young. We want to elect people who will lead on urgently implementing solutions that will reduce climate- and health-harming emissions."

350 Bay Area Action is now reaching out to general election candidates and their campaigns with a questionnaire, seeking their positions on climate-related issues relevant to California. Current bills include SB 54, which bans single-use plastics, and AB 345, which establishes a buffer zone around schools, health clinics, and homes from oil and gas infrastructure. Local governments are being urged to pass Climate Emergency resolutions, to require the decarbonization of new buildings, and more.

In the coming weeks, questionnaire results will be tabulated, and answers will be publicized. The group will then rate candidates, issue candidate report cards, and announce endorsements.

"It will be a busy few months for the team," said Pope. "We are looking forward to issuing our report card ratings and endorsing candidates - especially for local races, where climate is often ignored as a campaign issue. We expect to help create a new generation of climate champions - across California, and beyond."

University of Los Angeles College of Divinity (ULACD) and Coach Mike Miller Notch Nations Second Best Two-Year Record of 56-4 Among All Four-Year Colleges from 2018-19 to 2019-20

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /ScoopCloud/ -- The Association of Christian College Athletics announce 2020 Championship Tournament Bracket. Despite a wonderful record of 27-1 the University of Los Angeles College of Divinity (ULACD) has a very tough road ahead as the fourth seed.

It all starts Thursday with a game against Baptist Bible College from Missouri, famous for being the Alma Mater of Liberty University founder Jerry Falwell. The game will be televised live on the ACCA YouTube channel at 2:30 p.m. Central Time on March 5, 2020. The game can be seen at: http://youtube.com/accasports.

In the same bracket is top seeded Champion Christian College from Hot Springs Arkansas. Both Baptist Bible College and Champion Christian College have outstanding experienced coaches that boast high scoring teams with excellent deep shooting guards.

Those styles contrast with ULACD which is defensive focused and prideful about those defensive efforts. One example of that came on January 12, 2020 when Coach Michael (Mike) Miller beamed after the 81-48 victory against Cety's University, from Mexico. On the Coach Miller post game show coach Miller was asked by TV personality Ronnie Wald about the effort in the nights home court victory over the high scoring Mexican University who tallied 99 points in a win the night before.

Dr. Miller noted the pregame goal to hold the high scoring team to 50 points was achieved with great intensity of effort and the leadership of Senior returning ACCA 1st team All-American Jerron Wilbut (23.5 ppg, 9 rpg and 5 apg) and Junior team captain Dupree Mitchell (10 ppg and 4 apg).

Notably the third year team from Compton with no one taller than 6'4 and a roster of nine players has been consistently tough Defensively, especially in the latter part of the season. Junior college transfers, forward Troy Biglow (22 ppg and 8 rpg), guard KV Myricks (15.5 ppg and 3.5 apg) and Kelton Conway (11ppg, 4 rpg and 3apg) have made outstanding contributions to the defensive effort and also averaged double figures in points. Other team members are freshmen newcomers Samuel Rodrigues, Devone Brown and Josh Thompson and returning senior Johan Meclot (6 ppg and 5 rpg) as well as returning sophomore Dutch Samples.

The assistant coaches are Isaac Gordon and Wendell Westbrook, who was alongside coach Michael "Mike" Miller for over a decade at Los Angeles City College "LACC" during the record-breaking run of 14 straight conference championships. Coach Westbrook was the associate head coach at LACC from 1999-2000 to 2006-07 when the LACC teams compiled an overall record of 241-38 in eight seasons with a winning percentage of .864, exceeding all NCAA Division I Programs during the same time period.
