An Interior Ministry official in Ancona described the rainfall as a "water bomb that exploded." A local mayor said it was more like a tsunami. In just a few hours, the region was inundated with as much rainfall as it usually receives in six months.

Streets became rivers that carried away everything in their path. At least 10 people died.

When floodwaters receded, the cleanup began, and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers responded immediately and have been helping their community dig out from the mud and water damage ever since.

31 dogs saved from a dog-meat breeding farm in China have arrived in the United States following year long CDC dog ban

This flight marks the first time since the CDC Dog Ban that a large shipment of dogs were granted permission to come into the U.S.

"I am a visual artist and filmmaker who moved from Eastern Europe to the United States eight years ago. I come from a culture that is very old and unique. For centuries Georgia has been at the crossroad of civilizations and has been influenced by the East as well as by the West. Many compelling stories have originated from the region of the Caucasus which are still awaiting to be discovered by western audiences," says writer/director Mirza Davitaia.

"Some scholars have suggested that Rustaveli's poem 'The Knight in the Panther's Skin' alongside with Gorgani's 'Vis and Ramin' may have influenced the Tristan and Iseult legend and even Romeo and Juliet.

"My mission is to bring this incredible story to a broader audience. Even so, I have changed many things to make it more relevant to a contemporary audience, the main plot remains the same as it is in the poem."

The movie was made with an experimental approach by combining rotoscope, traditional 2D and 3D animation techniques.

Mirza Davitaia is a filmmaker who has written, directed and produced both animated and live-action movies since 1993.

In 2016, Mirza created the graphic novel "The Knight in the Tiger's Skin" (AKA Prince of India). The book was published by major Georgian publisher "Artanuji" and was nominated by Georgian Public Broadcaster as the Best Literary Work of 2016 for "The Best of the Year Award."

In previous years, Mirza has produced and written several live-action movies, including "The Narrow Bridge" in 2021, "The Last Fortress" in 2020, and "Anton" in 2019 which was directed by the Oscar and the Golden Globe-nominated director, Zaza Urushadze. In 2010, Mirza produced an action thriller "5 Days of War" starring Andy Garcia, Rupert Friend, Val Kilmer and other A-list Hollywood actors. In 2013, he co-produced a comedy "Jacky in Women's Kingdom," starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and Michel Hazanavicius.

Mirza Davitaia was born and raised in Georgia. Where in the years of 2004 to 2012, he served as a member of Parliament, Chairman of Parliamentary Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture and Monument Protection, as well as the State Minister of Diaspora Issues.

Guedel's prior work was based on the idea of excessivism. He was instrumental in bringing the movement to the masses. He curated the inaugural exhibition at a Los Angeles art gallery. As the movement's popularity grew around the world, other artists, fashion designers, and musicians joined in, transforming it into a global art movement in line with globalization. Even Gallero magazine went so far as to call it, "... truly a millennial movement in all senses of the word."

Guedel talks about his work with the utmost passion. "What interests me is the relationship between the elements that I find captivating for my curiosity at the moment of creation. I see my work as a body of records of ideas, thoughts, and feelings. The timeline can be traced by going back to my earlier works and determining my feelings and thoughts at the time of their creation," he said.

United Diversity Business Summit Provides Full Day of Discussion on Key Issues Relating to Diversity, Inclusion

Uganda’s Scientology Volunteer Ministers Reach Out With Help

WANGA PARISH, Uganda /ScoopCloud/ -- Scientology Tools for Life are transforming communities in the hands of a dedicated team of local leaders and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers of Wanga Parish, Uganda. It all began when Arthur Wamatsu learned about the Scientology Volunteer Ministers program and its 19 online courses from his aunt Millie. The whole family was amazed. Here was the technology to transform their birth village from one beset by poverty and despair to a place of hope and self-reliance.

The entire family trained on the 19 Scientology Tools for Life courses, the basic training for the Volunteer Ministers. They put their new skills into action.

Disease and natural disasters had taken their toll on the village, leaving 70 orphans in need of care and many families living on the edge of starvation.

The Volunteer Ministers raised funds to establish a medical clinic with a Volunteer Minister-trained nurse who provides basic health care along with Scientology assists-techniques developed by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard that address the emotional and spiritual factors in stress and trauma.

More donations went to the purchase of seeds, chickens and pigs.

Next, they trained every adult in the village on the Tools for Life courses. The whole village took on planting the crops-maize, beans and rice to begin with. Everyone, including the children, took turns watering and weeding. The village has now brought in their first harvest, and they have added sweet potatoes and cassava to what they are growing. With what they have grown and the 130 eggs their chickens produce each day, there is plenty of food for the village.

The Volunteer Ministers helped the village establish an orphanage with a nursery school for the 30 younger children. More donations paid for the school uniforms for the 40 older children who are now attending school.

With enough food to feed themselves, they plan to raise and sell chickens and pigs and expand their operation.

Word spread of the transformation of the parish and the Nalonda sub-county chair could hardly believe the change. He decided to study the courses himself.

"I have learned so much that I will use to improve my leadership skills," he said. "It would have been so easy for me if I'd known all this before. I have been finding my work very challenging, but today I gained the solutions." How to investigate to find the cause of difficulties and how to resolve conflicts were the courses he found the most valuable. He sees they will ease any leadership difficulties for the rest of his tenure.

He then invited all 186 sub-county leaders representing 10,000 villagers to take the courses. They all agreed. He helped set up a training center in Wanga Parish to serve the entire district and beyond. And he transported all the sub-county leaders to the week-long training.

"From the very first day of this training today it has been a period full of knowledge," said Namataka Agnes, 34, one of the sub-county leaders. "So much wisdom actually. I have learned so much that I didn't know and never thought I could learn from anywhere ever. I am so excited. They say hope is the pillar of the world, but I say it is wisdom. So many people in this community are lagging behind. With these courses taught to them, they will be empowered and help each other move forward. Many don't know how to handle kids, solve simple marriage conflicts, how to communicate. Just imagine when all these courses are taught to them. The community will be so empowered and ready to move forward."

The Church of Scientology Volunteer Ministers program is a religious social service created in the mid-1970s by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard. It constitutes one of the world's largest independent relief forces. Scientology ecclesiastical leader Mr. David Miscavige, calling on Scientologists to use what they know to redouble their efforts to aid their fellow man, has inspired tremendous growth in the Volunteer Ministers movement.

Concordia announces its new Leadership Council Co-Chair
